F:selectItems with default boolean value

Hi!
I have problem with using tag f:selectItems. I wrote converter in order to connect my items from the ManyChecbox list directly with my objects instead of strings. Now i would like to connect boolean values with my backing bean, so that when the page is rendered the default choice is marked. How can i do this?
<h:selectManyCheckbox value="#{myBean.selectedItems}"  converter="MyConverter" >
                           <f:selectItems value="#{myBean.allItems}"/>
</h:selectManyCheckbox>

well the component is linked to your backing bean property 'myBean.selectedItems', which is probably a list or something. Whatever value in this list is true will be checked, so make the 'default' one true when you initially create the list (for example, in a @PostConstruct annotated method).

  • Sorting a datatable with a boolean value

    Hi all,
    I have a datatable and one of the columns is just a true or false field.
    I'm using the DTOComparator from the BalusC (here: http://balusc.xs4all.nl/srv/dev-jep-dat.html) server but I'm getting the error:
    Error 500: java.lang.RuntimeException: Getter getInclude cannot be invoked.
    It comes from this line of code:
    try {
                c1 = (Comparable) o1.getClass().getMethod(getter, null).invoke(o1, null);
                c2 = (Comparable) o2.getClass().getMethod(getter, null).invoke(o2, null);
            } catch (Exception e) {
                // Obvious. Check if method names are correct.
                throw new RuntimeException("Getter " + getter + " cannot be invoked.");
    Can you not use boolean values with this?
    Thanks for any help!
    Illu

    Instead of a primivive, use a wrapper objects as DTO property which represents a DB entry. Remember, DB2 fields can contain null values.
    So use Boolean instead of boolean. Or just change the comparator to make it compatible with primitives.

  • Copy table structure with default column values

    Hi....
    I created a table by copying another table structure by using below query.....
    SQL> CREATE TABLE SAMPLE_TEMP AS SELECT * FROM SAMPLE WHERE 1=2;
    But my problem is " the default column values are not copied to new table"
    Suggest a query like that it should " copy a table structure and default values on columns "
    Thanks in advance

    hi,
    One more option would be "dbms_redefinition' - it would work as per your requirement.

  • Autofilling required attributes with default/fixed value when marshalling

    I'm wondering if there is a way to configure JAXB to set default or fixed values on undefined element attributes when marshalling. For example, if an element is derived from the following schema snippet
    <xs:complexType name="CentimetersLength">
          <xs:simpleContent>
             <xs:extension base="xs:double">
                <xs:attribute name="units" fixed="cm" use="required"/>
             </xs:extension>
          </xs:simpleContent>
       </xs:complexType>then when marshalling, I would think it would be acceptable to do the following
    CentimetersLength length = new CentimetersLength();
    length.setValue(3.0);
    marshaller.marshall(length);If the marshaller is set with the schema, it fails because the "units" attribute is required, even though it has a fixed value. If one looks at the JAXB-generated code produced by xjc, CentimetersLength has a method, getUnits(), that returns "cm" by default, but this doesn't carry over to the marshalled XML document.
    Thanks for the help,

  • Auto run report with default parameters in Viewer

    Hi,
    Can any one tell me if it's possible to automatically run reports in Disco Viewer with default parameter values?
    For example, I have a worksheet with a parameter like 'Term like :Term Code' which has a default value of '%'.
    When I open the sheet in Viewer I'm presented with the Confirmation screen with default parameter values displayed and then click OK to run report. Is there a way to skip the confirmation screen and just run the sheet with default values as soon as it's opened?
    I tried using the 'Run Query Automatically' option in Query Governor preference but this results in Viewer opening the Edit Parameters screen instead of the confirmation screen.
    What I'd ideally like to do is bypass both the Confirmation and Edit Parameters screen to automatically run the worksheet with default parameters as soon as it's selected.
    Any thoughts appreciated,
    Ien Hien

    Hi,
    Option 1
    If the user is clicking on a URL for the report you could code the parameters directly into the URL thus, they are passed on startup. Section 13.5.2 Example 2 of the below URL provides an example:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13918_03/urlstart.htm#i1014363
    Option 2 (Not Exactly what your looking for)
    This would still require a user to click something but, if your passing a wildcard it should probably be considered,
    If the parameter might be a wild card your better off making it an Optional Parameter which is now possible in Discoverer Plus 10.1.2. Thus, instead of passing an expensive % sign the condition will simply be ignored.
    Hopefully this helps....

  • Issue : OBIEE applying default prompt values when pressing return button

    Hi All,
    On my dashboard, I am showing a summary report. This summary report has a link to detail report. I have provided a link for detail report just below the summary report on dashboard. Following is the issue which I am facing
    [1] I run the dashboard for a particular prompt value on the dashboard. Let's say a date value = '1/1/2010'.
    (There is no default value for the prompt).
    [2] Now my summary report is updated according to the prompt value which I selected.
    [3] I click on any value on summary reports and it drill down and recalculated the metrics
    [4] Now when I click on the detail report, i get the detail report too ( in a new window). The issue starts from here.
    [5] When I click on return link from the detail report page, it takes me back to the summary report page ( I land on the report which I got from step 3)
    [6] I click on the return button under the summary report (rememeber I had drilled down) to see the report which i get in step 2
    But, when I click on the return button under the summary report, it changes the prompt value too and applies the default value to the prompt and provides me the initial summary report with default promt value. The report which I got in step 2
    Whereas what i want is when I click on the return link then I should get the report which I got in step 3.
    Why does OBIEE applies the default value when I try to return back to my original summary report. Is this an OBIEE feature or I have some setting issue ?
    Hope I have been able to explain the scenario!
    Can anyone please reply on this. Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Ronny

    hey kart,
    the issue is not about going back to the summary report ...the issue is when i click on the return link below the summary report after returning from the detail report ( which opens in a new window) then it takes me to the initial summary report ( which was loaded by default when the dashboard was loaded) with all the default prompt filters whereas my requirement is to go back to the summary report with the filters which users selected from the prompt ....
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Ronny

                   if (((Boolean) value).booleanValue()) {
                        comp.setForeground(hasIt);
                   } else {
                        comp.setForeground(UIManager.getColor("table.foreground"));
              return comp;
          * Override for performance reasons
         @Override

         protected void firePropertyChange(String propertyName, Object oldValue, Object newValue) {
              // EMPTY
         @Override
         public void revalidate() {
              // EMPTY
         @Override
         public void validate() {
              // EMPTY
    } // end classBut the rendering comes all wrong (a String saying true or false, not the expected checkbox from the default renderer) and also there is a weird flickring effect as this particular boolean column is editable (per table model, not show here)...
    I can post the table model and the other renderer if needed (didn't want to put too much code on the question, at least initiallty).
    Should I render a checkbox myself for this cell in the custom renderer? I'm puzzled as I expected the default renderer part of the code to do this for me instead.
    Thanks!

    camickr
    Thats because the default render is a JLabel and it just displays the text from the toString() method of the Object in the table model.What I meant to say is that I expected the JCheckbox not a String representation of the boolean value.
    Thats because a different renderer is used depending on the Class of data in the column. Look at the source code for the JTable class to see what the "default >renderer for the Boolean class" is. Then you can extend that or if its a private class then you will need to copy all the code and customize it.At the end I looked at the code and replicated the functionality I needed. I thought than maybe there was a way to avoid replicating the same logic all over again in order to implement this functionality. Good advice, though.
    see you learned nothing from your last posting. This is NOT a SSCCE. 90% of the code you posted is completely irrelevant for the described problem. There is abosutelly no need to post the custom TableModel, because there is no need to use a custom TableModel for this problem. The TableModel has nothing to do with how a column is rendererd.The custom table model returns the type of the column (giving a hint to the renderer on what to expect, right?) and for the one that had a problem it says than the class is Boolean. That's why I mentioned it:
    public Class getColumnClass(int columnIndex) {
        // Code omited....
    You also posted data for 4 columns worth of data. Again, irrelevant. Your question is about a single column containing Boolean data, so forget about the other columns.
    When creating a SSCCE you don't start with your existing code and "remove" code. You start with a brand new class and only add in what is important. That way hopefully if you made a mistake the first time you don't repeat it the second time.That's what I did, is not the real application. I copy & pasted code in a haste from this dummy program on this forum, not the best approach as it gave the wrong impression.
    Learn how to write a proper SSCCE if you want help in the future. Point taken, but there is NO need for you to be rude. Your help is appreciated.

    Jose.

  • How to preset fields in TA BP with default values

    Hi!
    I want to fill few fields in transaction BP with default values.
    This should be if there`s a new business partner to insert.
    If i can do this depending on the selected role it was the best
    First i thought on SPA/GPA-parameters ... but then i can`t do it in depence on the selected role.
    In customizing i can tell only if a field should be displayed or not, for input or not, ... but no values to insert.
    Is here anybody with a good idea for me?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    Hi,
    There is one possibility which requires an enhancement of the
    BDT event ISDAT and a call to the function module
    BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET. This means that an ISDAT function module needs to be written (transaction BUS7) which calls the function module BUP_BUPA_FIELDVALUES_SET with the needed values that are to be defaulted. You can read the role value using BUS_PARAMETERS_ISSTA_GET (T_RLTYP).The fields which are possible can be found in the DDIC structure BUSDEFAULT. However this is limited only to the fields inside this structure.

  • How to preset fields in a transaction BP with default values

    I`ve posted my question first in crm-section but i think here it`s better
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Best regards,
    Ingo

    Hi,
    There is one possibility which requires an enhancement of the

  • Prompt date value with default max from table1.column1

    Hi all,
    How do I prompt user for date of report with default date = max(table1.column1) ? Give me some example of syntax pls.
    Thanks ahead.

    hi,
    Default Date for the Date Prompt can be Static but not dynamic in WEBI.
    Because we can't specify any object/calculation as default value for the prompt.
    I think it's not possible in WEBI.

  • Initialize some fields in material master with default values

    Hi,
    I would like to initialize some fields in material master MM01 with default values.
    for exemple in the view MRP1 there is a field MRP type I would like to initialize PD in the field as default value.
    but when I go to the technical information there is no parameter id that I can use in SU3.
    Do you know how I can the initialize the field those don't have parameter ID?
    thank
    Dede

    Dear Glenn,
    This is possible in SAP for this use T code MMD1 and create MRP profile and assign this MRP profile while creating material using MM01 in the organisation level put this created MRP profile. The values you maintained in this profile get copied to the material by default.
    To maintain MRP profile go to MMD1->give your profile name...........> click on  selection screen push button--->give here profile description--->select what MRP  field which u want to make fixed one/default. if make fixed later you can not change--
    >click on data screen 1 push button and maintain your value and save
