F5 Load Balancer IP issues

I am using the Load Balancer IP from Codeplex and am running into a few issues. I am able to use most of the activities successfully to pull most data: servers, pool members, etc... However, the
Get Local LB Pool member Status and Set Local LB Pool member Status are throwing errors. I figured maybe my service account only had read permissions to pull data, but i should at least be able to run the
Get status activity.
Heres the error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
Exception: NullReferenceException
Target site: F5Interface.GetLBPoolMember

I have tried entering the servers address (I.P.), netbios name, and FQDN. They all return the same error. Any ideas on why and how to fix this?

I had to use the IP with a port like: 0.0.0.0:8888

Office Web Apps Load Balancing Configuration Issue for SharePoint 2013

I have load balanced servers dedicated for Office Web Apps with name “md1xxxwfe1” and “md1xxxwfe2”
, both this servers are load balanced by CISCO Load balancer. And I have mapped Load Balancer Virutal IP with host name officeapps.jda.corp.local in the DNS records.
Things are working fine if I add new farm by using New-OfficeWebAppsFarm

The output of the wfe1 server is attached with this. When I open http:// /hosting/discovery in wfe1 I’m getting following result (attached

For troubleshooting your issue, please take steps as below:
Just about any load balancing solution will work, including a server that runs the Web Server (IIS) role running Application Request Routing (ARR):Install
Application Request Routing
Install the certificate on the load balancer as described under Securing Office Web Apps Server communications by using
HTTPS.
Make sure you have configured the cluster correctly for full internet name:

All our services are running fine for Planning. We are in process of configuring FDM.
FDM Application Server Configuration is completed.
While doing FDM Load Balancer Configuration, we also able to connect to Shared Service directory successfully. But when we click ok to complete the configuration it gives following error -
Unable to Create Load Balancer Object!
Please verify that the user name, password, and domain are correct
Error=Cannot create ActiveX component
When checked in Event Log we found -
Unable to create Load Balance Manager object! Configuration directory could not be located. Error=-2147023878 - Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID *{E652643D-6CC1-48AC-915D-01842B04F292}*

We tried the below steps but issue still persists -
•     Start the ‘dcomcnfg’ tool in Windows
•     Expand Component Services\Computers\My Computer\Dcom-Config and locate the following object: {E652643D-6CC1-48AC-915D-01842B04F292}
•     Right-click and choose "Properties" and click on the "Security" tab
•     Click the "Edit" button and remove all users except the default: "Everyone" and "System" and click OK, then set the radio button to "Use Default"
•     Click the "Edit" button under Access Permissions and remove all users/groups except the default items and click OK, and set the radio button to "Use Default"
•     Now click the "Identity" tab and remove the ID in the "This User" field and set the radio button to "The Launching User" and click "Apply" and "OK"
•     Now try to launch the FDM Load Balance Config and all the extra tools for FDqM
We are using hypadmin as domain account but it is part of Administrators group on FDM Server (Server 3). The administrators group is also part of -
Act as part of the operating system
Bypass traverse checking
Log on as a batch job
Log on as a service
Please let us know in case if you encountered similar error on this version and possible solution for the issue.

I woudl clear out all users/groups on the security tab of the FDM Load Balance Server DCOm object for "Launch and Activation" and "Access" permisisons and then set the identity to the "Launching User" radio button and apply. Then re-set the config.
If that still fails, try rebooting the server and then set it.
Make sure the domain and password are also correct that is being entered.

I have been having issues with a Node with the Cluster getting stuck in the Status of Converging. The only way I have been able to get it back up is to restart the virtual server completely and it is temporary. When I first configure the Cluster the two
virtual servers get added to the Node with no problems and fully converge. However, after some time a node will end up in Converging and this takes Authentication for ADFS down as the nodes can not be contacted over Port 443.

I have tried using 1 & 2 Virtual NICs on the machines and still end up with communication issues. Could someone assist me with why I am having this issue? This is not an issue with a firewall. If it was a firewall it would never communicate the first

According to your description, my understanding is that：2 ESXI 5.5 physical devices (192.168.0.5 and 192.168.0.6), each of them has a virtual WS 2012 R2(192.168.0.10 and 192.168.0.20). Cluster the 2 virtual servers successfully, but they corrupt with event
ID 21, and a restart of virtual device will resolve this problem temporarily.
Event ID 21 means that NLB failed to converge due to inconsistencies in the port rules between this host and cluster host. This will occur if the number of port rules or the type of port rules are different between hosts.
Ensure that all NLB hosts have identical port rules. Detailed steps you may reference:

Thank you for your response. It took me a while to figure it out, but the whole issue was related to the type of Virtual Network Adapter I was selecting.
I changed the network adapter from E1000 to VMXNET 3 and have not had a single error in the event logs or Windows NLB.
I read somewhere that VMXNET 3 is preferred for Windows Server 2012 R2.

I only run windows 2012 server .
Install vmware tools , remove e1000 network card after a vm stop, add a card same vswitch etc BUT with a vmxnet3 TYPE . DONT USE DEFAULT CARD
Start and enjoy this solution . E1000 and E1000e are just unstable in windows8 / windows 2012 , the network card reset randomly with or without heavy IO. No log in windows , and as a vcloud user i don"t have esxi logs (damn i don't like cloud) and provider

App-V 5 Publishing Server + Load Balancing (NetScaler) issue

All,
I have attempted to load balance my App-V 5.0 deployment, which includes two nodes (appv-1 and appv-2) on a Citrix NetScaler VPX appliance.
The management server is working fine, when browsing to the load balanced VIP DNS alias - pass-through authentication works great and the management console is displayed.
When I attempt to browse to the load balanced VIP DNS alias for the Publishing Server, it prompts for authentication credentials, then displays the following error:
Method not allowed. Please see the service help page for constructing valid requests to the service.
When I attempt to browse using the same internet explorer instance to http://appv-1.fqdn:8088 it displays the XML page after entering authentication credentials.
Here is my set-up & what I have done....
Appv-1 Server
Management Server installed on Port:8088

SQL Cluster and Mirroring configured (tested and working)

On another other machine in the environment if I browse to http://appvmgmtsrv.fqdn:8088/console.html it automatically loads the console with the credentials of the logged on user.
Launching the Management Console via Load Balanced DNS name works on every other server except itself.... assume this is Kerberos modifications? (This only happens when I disable the appv-2 node on the load balancer, forcing all IIS connections to Appv-1).
The management server issue above is not a big one and can work around that easily. The major issue is with the Publishing Server. .. .

in a new tab if I enter http://appv-1.fqdn:8090 it will prompt for authentication, once enter its displays the XML page with App-V meta-data.
Can anyone shed some light on this issue please.... When I update the App-V client with the load balanced publishing server VIP DNS it displays the following error in the event log:
Getting server publishing data failed.

Webcache load balancing - Login issue

Hi,
We have configured load balancing between two managed server using web cache. The load balancing is working fine. But the problem is, after login to our application deployed on both managed servers, if we stop the managed server currently processing the request and start second managed server then the current session is not applicable for second managed server. We are logged out of the application for any further request. Even if the second managed server is already running, we are logged out. The session binding has been configured to JSESSIONID and cookie based. Please let us know how we can make the same session applicable for another server as well so that users are not logged out if the server processing the request goes down. This sounds like configuring some failover settings but i am not able to find it out.

Internet Load Balancing - Routing Issue

Dear all, good day...
in our ministry we are going to contract with 2 ISPs to provide us with the internet service (one of them will be the main line 16 MB, and the other line will be working as a backup line). Now, here is my question, is there any router that can holds the 2 ISPs lines at the same time and have the fail over property and load balancing, or i have to use 2 different routers (we have CISCO 2821) to do the load balancing between the 2 internet lines. There are many ways you can do.But depending on your requirement.If you are using 2 ISPs and all of ISPs are willing to do BGP then that is the right way you should do. For doing load-sharing.please check this link out.

Just my thought.In case one of your ISPs can't do BGP then you can use the policy-based routing feature to do out-bound load-sharing(inside to ISPs) by classifying traffics you want.

Load Balance serve issue

We have defined 2 servers (server1,server2)in FDM and also added these servers in Machine profile.
We are executing UPSshell.exe which should place .dat file in server1. The server name is also specified as server1 in Upsshell script. But, the issue we are facing is, on first execution, .dat is placed in openbacth of server1,while on second execution .dat is placed in server2. This is causing issue in our dataload. Batch load script is looking for file in server1 and since the file is in server2, datais not getting loaded. Can anyone let me know wht am I missing here , as the .dat file is saved in server2, even after specifying serever as server1 in upsshell.exe script.

You need to have a single FDM application folder share point, such as FDMDATA and then your application sub-folders beneath it.
Then your application path should be specified as UNC path (\\ServerNameFDMDATA\AppName)
You can update the path using <Add Application>
A) Choose <Add Application> at the login form
B) Login and highlight the application and choose "modify"
C) Update the application path.

XML Publisher Time out setup issue with load balancer

I have a single node install of Oracle Apps 12.0.4. When running an XML report, it completes successfully and I can view the XML report by clicking on the "view output" button.
I have an Oracle Apps 12.0.4 multi-node install with my database and admin tier running on the same box. I also have two app tiers front-ended with a cisco load balancer. Having an issue with vpn load balancing certificate on the vip

Hi all,
I am setting up vpn load balancing in a lab. I have two asa's running 8.6. I created a ucc cert from our internal CA that has the vip as the CN in the cert and the two ASA's themselves as subject alternative names. I used open ssl to create the request. In each asa I am using encryption between the ASA's to encrypt the psk's. Since this is a lab and I do not have the DNS servers at my disposal I've added the hostnames and addresses of each ASA to the config in the ASA's. The problem I have is that when I connect to the vip I get a cert error saying the cert doesn't match the name on the site. See below:
"The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website's address."
I have a hostfile on my lab pc connected directly to the outside of the ASA that can resolve the name of the vip but when I browse to the vip I get the cert error. If I click proceed anyway the asa redirects me and the page opens without error on one of the two ASA's.
Does any one know what the CN of the cert should be for vpn load balancing. I thought the CN would be the vip but sometinhg is not right.

Cache refresh issue with PI Load Balanced HA setup.

Dear Experts,
Wei have installed a HA Load Balanced PI Production Server with the below specifications. Its a four node cluster. Two nodes for Application Cluster and another two nodes for Database Cluster.
Node1
Physical Hostname : axsappci
Virtual Hostname : axsapp00
Instances         : CI,SCS and ASCS.
Node2
Physical Hostname : axsappdi
Virtual Hostname   : axsapp00
Instances          : Dialog instance installed with physical hostname axsappdi
Node3
Physical Hostname : axsappd1
Virtual Hostname   : axsappdb
Instances : DB Instance.
Node4
Physical Hostname : axsappd2
Virtual Hostname   : axsappdb
Instances : Standby DB Instance (passive).
Web Dispatcher Hostname : h2h
Application Switchover : CI,SCS and ASCS to switchover to Node2 and dialog instance Node2 forcing to go down
Database Switchover : DB Instance switchover to Node2 if Node1 fails.
We have changed all the parameters according to note 951910 -> NW2004s High Availability Usage Type PI
I am facing an issue with the cache Notifications in the Integration Repository and Directory. The cache notifications are not happening properly particularly with the ABAP Cache.
I get the below error in my ID when i try to do the manual cache notification.
Unable to notify integration runtime (ABAP) of data changes
Unable to establish http connection "http://h2h:8002/sap/xi/cache?sap-
client=001"

I have configured my web disptacher to use default HTTP and HTTPS ports i.e 80 and 443. According to note 951910 i have changed parameters in exchange profile to use these ports.

Load-balancing issues with iPlanet and multiple clusters

We're in performance test of a large-scale clustered deployment based on WLS 5.1sp10.
Due to scalability/functionality issues, some of which we've seen firsthand and
some of which we've been informed of by associates as well as BEA representatives,
we've chosen to implement multiple clusters with a maximum of three nodes each.
These clusters will be fronted by a web server tier consisting of iPlanet servers
using the proxy plugin.
Due to hardware constraints (both in test and in production), however, we've configured
the iPlanet servers to route across the multiple clusters. In our test environment,
for instance, we've got a single iPlanet server routing across two 3-node clusters,
and the configuration in obj.conf is as follows:

situation? Are there other alternative approaches that anyone can recommend?

I use weblogic6.1 with sp2+windows 2000.I develop a web application and deploy
it to cluster.Through HttpClusterServlets proxy of weblogic I found that a server
in cluster almost get 95% of requests but another only get 5% of requests.Why???
I don't set any special parameter.And the weight of the two clustered server is
equal.I use round-robin arithmetic.

Email send issue using "Mail Server Load balancer" (Cisco ACE 20)

Please let me know if someone have experienced this kind of issue or any suggestions.
The send email action was working file in MII with smtp mail server on port 25. Recently basis did a change in mail server ip address and they installed a new Load Balancer . The Load balancer is between SMTP and MII. After this change MII does not send email (unknown source error). now MII send email action has ip address or qualified path of Load balancer in MII send email configuration instead of direct ip address of SMTP server. Below is the error message in Net Weaver logs.
MII still sends email if direct ip address of email server provided but not through email Load balancer .
Any suggestions ?

Could not retrieve Enterprise Global Template - Load balancer issue

Hi,
We have 4 Project Server 2010 servers. The 4 web servers are load balanced by networking team with sticky session configured.
When we try to connect to the Project Server using MPP 2007 SP2, it fails saying 'Could not retrieve Enterprise Global template'. It works perfect when we point to a specific server by specifying the IP address for server name in the 'hosts'
file.
Earlier we observed some errors in the event viewer related to the SharePoint's internal load balancer for which restarted the 'Project Server Application' on each web server and it got fixed.
Now, the only entries that we see related to load balancer are as mentioned below as Information (not errors).

Could the issue be due to network load balancer?
Could the issue be due to Sticky session configuration on the load balancer.?
How can we get to the root cause of the issue?
Which logging category should we set to 'Verbose' that can give us some hint.
Update: We tried to capture the requests through fiddler and observed that when fiddler is running on the client computer then the connection works perfectly fine even through the load balancer. Probably fiddler is reformatting the SOAP
envelop of the web service requests the way it should before sending the request to the server.
If we do not run fiddler and run some other similar tool (like Charles) then it again gives the issue and the request stucks at /PWA/_vti_bin/psi/winproj.asmx
We ran Wireshark on the servers and found the following for that web service call:
[TCP Previous segment not captured] Continuation or non-HTTP traffic.
Please let me know if someone could provide any hint what can be done next.

There are several ways to configure your load balancer. I would suggest that you work with the network engineer, the load balancer vendor and your project administrator to resolve this issue.
Basically you need URL to be resolved correctly. Also, I don't believe PS2007 did a good job handling load balancing, so you may need to bring someone in good with IIS and see they can tweek IIS to manage the cache better.
As I go back and look at your analysis, I think you should probably look at upgrading to Project Server 2013. They made some improvement in load balancing and the management of distributive cache.
I assume you have 4 WFE because you have thousands of project users. Roughly how many you have? Over 1000, over 5000
Have you tried to see if using two load balancing work? How about just one front end. I often see companies scaling SharePoint and Project server to extremes.
