Episodes not updating

The feed validator says it's okay.
I can subscribe to the feed in iTunes and the latest episode and a complete list is displayed.
But my last two episodes are not showing up in iTunes. I've pinged, I've waited for days. Is there a fifteen episode limit?

I don't know what has happened here: because you are using server scripting it's outside my experience. Because iTunes thinks it should be using a different feed, you can't change it back (you would have to place an 'itune:new-feed-url' tag with the correct URL in this non-existent feed).
There are two options: you could abandon the present podcast (you could ask to get it removed) and start again from scratch (you would have to change the name of the podcast slightly or you will be told it has already been submitted) - obviously this is annoying as you will lose subscribers (but you have lost them already).
Alternatively you could contact iTunes Support and ask them to redirect the Store to the correct feed. The person who initially answers your message won't be able to do this, and will probably tell you it can't be done: but someone did get his feed URL changed by asking to have the problem escalated. I can't say how likely you are to be able to get this done, but obviously it's the preferable option ans so worth the likely hassle.
Go to http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/ - click on 'Other iTunes Store Features' in the list and then on 'Podcasts'.

Podcast episodes not updating correctly in iTunes

Hello,
I am having a problem with my podcast episodes not updating correctly in iTunes. The last 5 episodes I published appeared in iTunes at the bottom of the episode list, as if they were old episodes--i.e., they appear as if they were the first 5 episodes published. They also do not have a date assigned to them as the rest of the episodes do. They were not distributed to podcast subscribers, possibly because iTunes is not recognizing them as new episodes.

The problem began with last Wednesday's episode, which was Episode 30, and has continued ever since. I did not do anything differently when I published that episode than I did when I published the previous 29 episodes, and those updated just fine, or at least seemed to as far as I could tell (i.e., they appeared correctly on iTunes, and appeared as a new episode for me as a podcast subscriber). Also, after examining the rss feed, I could not see any difference between episodes 1-29 and episodes 30--34, at least as far as the way the feed was formatted. So, I have no idea what triggered the problem, and no idea how to fix it. If I can't resolve the issue then I think I'll have to abandon the podcast, since there's no point in publishing a podcast that doesn't distribute new episodes to subscribers.
If anyone can shed light on this problem for me, it would be most appreciated. Thanks!

As you say, in the Store the latest episodes don't show a publishing date. When subscribing in iTunes, none of the episodes show a publishing date, and they are listed in the order they appear in the feed.
In the feed, none of your episodes has a 'pubDate' tag, which is where iTunes gets the date from. Since most of the episodes in the Store have a date, it looks as if originally your episodes had this tag, but that five episodes back you did something in whatever method you are using to create your feed which removed these tags: the Store is presumably getting the dates from its cache since the episodes haven't changed, but obviously doesn't have the dates for the last 5 episodes.

New Podcast Episode Not Updating in iTunes

Hello Apple Community,
My name is Sara Simms, I have recently started a new DJ podcast series called Flight. My new episode has not updated yet in the iTunes store (its been over three days since I uploaded it)

Your second episode has a media file referenced at http://sarasimms.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/flight_episode_two
This works when the URL is entered in a browser, but at the URL has no extension (.mp3) iTunes does not see it as being a media file and thus does not display the episode. You need to give a full URL including the extension, as you have done for your first episode.
You are mixing episodes with and without media files - there are a lot of earlier episodes which don't have media files - these won't show in iTunes. If blogger limits the number of episodes shown in the feed, these will count towards that limit which could result in episodes not showing in iTunes once you have added enough episodes to trigger the limit.

Podcast episode not updated on itunes

New Podcast Episodes Not Updating if Not Subscribed

Hey there,
My podcast hasn't updated the latest two weekly podcast episodes if you haven't subscribed. If you have subscribed, the episodes are available for download. XML uploaded yesterday.

The 'title' tag for your 2 September episode reads
<title>Love Thy Neighbor</title>
The ode at the start isn't upsetting the iTunes application but it's upsetting FireFox when used as a feed reader and is flagged as an error by FeedValidator, so it's extremely likely that it's upsetting the Store and rendering the feed unreadable. You need to remove it.
The code appears to be for a linebreak and is, I read elsewhere, permissible in XML 1.1 but not 1.0 which is what you have specified: in any event, you don't want a linebreak and getting rid of it altogether will probably solve your problem.

Please when you have a question post the URL of the feed, not its contents. For the record, your feed is at

There are seven episodes in your feed, seven in the iTunes Store and seven when subscribing; so everything is working normally.
The FeedValidator reportthrows up some minor errors which you might want to look at, though none of them seems to be upsetting iTunes/
In line 2 it should be <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0"> (not 'DTD')
The 'itunes:category' tag should be in the top section of the feed, not in the items.
Line 54 - August 8th was not a Saturday.
A 'guid' tag in each 'item' is advised but not essential (it would be a unique identifier, usually the episode URL).
Line 37 - you can ignore this, I don't know what it's complaining about.
The other errors are unimportant: and as I say none of them is actually causing a problem.

Podcast Episodes Not Updating in Display

I have a podcast for my company. I have done two previously, last year. I just added two more and despite pinging the server repeatedly, it doesn't show in the display when you come to our podcast page. If I hit "Subscribe" All four episodes will show and it will begin downloading the new ones, but it still doesn't appear in the store window. Do I just have to wait or is there some way to speed things up?

Podcasts episodes not visible and not updated

Since 2 weeks I have noticed that in iTunes for Windows new postcasts episodes are no longer visible in the Postcast section. The result is that as no updates are shown (also not after using the refresh option) the new episodes are not downloaded either.
The strange thing is that when I look in the iTunes Store or create a Smart playlist with Grouping set to Podcast the episodes are visible.
Any suggestions why the episodes are not visible and not updated?

You can click Yes to continue downloading additional episodes. Or you can just listen to any part of any episode and a new episode will download at the next update.

ITunes not updating after 30 episodes

hi, im a bit desperate...
i own a podcast produced with podPress plugin under Wordpress. The plugin has an option to configure some iTunes store things. It has worked for 30 episodes but the iTunes store is not updating any more from its feed:

I have added 3 more episodes but they dont appear on the iTunes podcast page, as well as the info and podcast picture. I guess the problem comes from updating Wordpress, but the feed looks OK.

I dont know what has happened but i see im not going to be capable to solve myself...

One of three things has happened.
1. iTunes has stopped updating altogether from the feed.
2. There is something in the feed since episode 30 which has caused iTunes to choke on it and not read it.
3. Wordpress has changed the feed URL so that the feed you link to is not the one that iTunes is using. Since it's not possible to detect from iTunes the feed it's using I can't check on this. However using 'Advanced>Subscribe to Podcast' in iTunes does show ten episodes up to 33, as does the feed you link to.
1 & 3 are unlikely but I suppose possible. Did you do something to the feed after episode 30?
If you submit your feed to http://www.feedvalidator.org it is flagged as valid (this isn't absolute, I've seen iTunes reject feeds which FeedValidator thought was valid); however you will see several comments, principally about the use of HTML code in the summaries etc., which strictly you shouldn't be doing.
More important, the 'item' tag for episode 30 contains two 'enclosures'. The usual result of this error is that the second one is simply ignored, but I suppose it's possible that this could cause iTunes to choke and refuse to update the feed.
More than that I can't comment, not being familiar with WordPress. If they have a Help area or a forum you could try asking there.

Podcast is not updating its episodes on our school iTunes U site, but on general iTunes U site.

Issue with my podcast not updating to subscribers

Hi,
I recently took over podcast duties for our podcast. And around a month before I took over (mid-march) I began recieving complaints that the podcast wasn't updating to subscribers. It seems to be mostly from people using the IOS podcast ap. I am using it myself, and I can search for the podcast and find it, but as a subscriber the podcast will not update automatcially, or aknowledge that a new podcast has been uploaded. I am aware that it can take a few days to update from my feed, but it still should alert subscribers when a new podcast is uploaded.

The latest episode in it is 29 April, and this shows in the Store and when subscribing in iTunes on a Mac, so all this is normal.
I don't have an iOS device so I'm not in a position to check if there are any problems there. Your server does handle the required 'byte ramge requests' so it ought to work OK, but if it doesn't I can only advise asking in the iPhone forum - everything in the feed seems to be correct.

After refreshing my Podcast list, some Podcasts with new episodes do not display the "Unplayed" blue dot.
If the podcast "folder" is expanded by clicking the triangle, the new episodes are shown with a "Unplayed" blue dot.
A new episode is shown in the My Podcast view, with the correct number of new episodes.
The new episodes are displayed in the All Unplayed view.
I've tried deleting all episodes and downloading new episodes from the iTunes Store.
I've tried Unsubscribing and deleting the podcast, then Subscribing again from the iTunes Store.
Neither attempt resolved the issue.
I've seen this issue for a while, and was disappointed to find no change with the iTunes 11.3.1.2 update.

it finally worked; got my Rush 24/7 downloaded, and it finally found my iPhone after switching from the USB 4 port Hub to a dedicated USB 2.0 slot on my laptop.

1)And here are my questions. I've updated my channel title as 'Armchair Critics' but its not updated on itunes or when I check it from my iphone 4s
2)When I'm on my iphone and search for my podcast and go to the page it allows me to download individual podcasts it shows the titles of the podcast correctly
eg Armchair Critics - Ep 4x2 - blah blah blah
While Downloading the first time on my iphone it shows like this, but as soon as I DL the 2nd one the title goes to being
1 - the text after Ep 4x2, why is it dropping the Armchair Critics - Ep 4x2? I want it to show like that after downloading and viewing on my music app also(formerly iPod i think didnt have an iphone before the 4s)
3)When viewing the source of my feed I notice that for my first posts the title tags are showing as
<title>Armchair Critics - Ep1×1 - Dilshan and Captaincy</title>
it should be something like
<title>Armchair Critics - Ep4×2 - Thirimanne and Indians</title>
with 4x2, is this some sort of syntax issue, and why does it work for the latest ones and not the old ones?
4)I recently updated my image, its still not updated on itunes or when I check from my iphone, is it cuz the feed needs time to update on itunes?
5)And in general, when I make a change to the feed, how long does it take for itunes to pick up the change.
5a)Does the change happen on itunes automatically?
5b)Do I manually need to update anything? IF so how and where?
6)Also, it I wanna add more itunes tags in future like for changing date/duration etc..how do and where do I do it?

1) The title has sorted it self now on the store but not the image, looks like it has gone to some sort of default podcast image. Is it still updating? I've subscribed on a PC, what does subscribing do exactly ? I thought it would start downloading the podcasts, but nothing happened and I had to manually DL them. Again no image...
2) The text getting cut off before the x, eg 4x2 blah blah becoming 2 blah blah on iphone.
Some background - I added the feed to itunes last week. Did not look at it until yesterday. And all my titles for the podcast had the 2x1 , 2x2 in them from the start - from when I created the episodes in podbean. I only started updating yesterday (again on podbean) cuz it was not showing up ok on the iPhone. SO should it not have worked from the start ? Or am I missing somehting?
Do you think the html code for multiplication is causing it to cut off the text before the x ?
4) As stated above the image is still not visible to me on itunes after subscribing on a PC. What image do you see by the way ? It should be this?

5 & 6) How do you re-upload the feed ? Since I made the update to the image, do I need to re-upload it to make it work? Is that why its not showing up still ?

New Podcast for iTunes Not Updating in the iTunes Store

Hello Apple Community,
My name is Sara Simms, I have recently started a new DJ podcast series called Flight. My new episode has not updated yet in the iTunes store (its been over three days since I uploaded it)
My podcast episodes are hosted here:

I also uploaded new artwork via Feedburner, in the 'Podcast' section of iTunes I see the artwork has updated.

I just pinged Feedburner, hopefully this helps to update everything.
Could anyone else please let me know if there's anything else I should check/change to make sure my podcast episodes are updating?

You can try below and let me know the result.
I believe you must be using cycle counting method. Make sure the person name of inventory document creator and the person who actually count the document is same. If so then last counting date will be correctly updated. I would advice you to simulate below scenario.
Create the PI document and assign the name of person. And perform the actual counting by another person by exactly same method for which you were getting an error. Then observe the results.
If above solution fails to find out the cause then consult SAP.

Photo Not Updating for Podcast

I have a minor issue with the Podcast app from iOS 5.1.1 thru 6.1.
The artwork for the podcasts are not updating in the app. I listen to a lot of music podcasts and on iTunes I see the updated artwork every week. When I sync my iPhone 5 I will see it say Updating cover for episode ### but when I play that episode podcast it will have the artwork for an older episode. Usually for an episode that I have already deleted.
Not a huge crisis but it is annoying. Thanks.
