Facebook app not posting

Hi Folks, I realised that the facebook app is not sending the written post into the FB stream. I use the latest updates of OS and Apps as of today on my brand new Passport. FYI my Web privacy on FB is 'friends only'.

I found the bug: when the you reshare a picture and people start commenting on, and you as resharer are replying to these posts, these comments come on the original picture, not the picture you have reshared. People simply cannot see your replies, because the come on the original picture.
Workaround one: use Facebook on the webpage on your passport
Workaround two: download the picture, and upload as a new post

Facebook app not working on wifi?

I have the galaxy s5 so does my wife and daughter, and when we are at home we hook up to the wifi, and try to use that to save on data usage. for some reason it does not load photos, comments and videos for a long time. the laptop, tablets, and tv all work fine off of the wifi. we have the same issue in public wifi. any reason?

Yes the pages load fine on data. But even games I have that use internet
don't always work right. But if I turn off the wif i. it works fine. I am
beginning to wonder if I made a mistake leaving sprint.

Facebook app not working on bb10 after update

Hello.
I update the facebook app to the newest update on my bb10 and not it's not working at all. The app is not showing in the icons with the F, just like a spot with unfinished icon. Can't access it, can't delete it or reinstall. What's the point having a not working app? If i would know i would keep the old version

What happens when you try to delete the application? Also what version of BlackBerry 10 are you using? Go to Settings>About to find this information. Do you get any errors when you try to re-install it from BlackBerry World?

Facebook app not staying full screen after IOS 7.1 upgrade

Just started this morning... did the 7.1 upgrade last night. Not sure if I accessed FB last night after the upgrade.
What I'm seeing this morning is pretty weird... best way to describe it is: the FB app is not fully crashing... if I start it, it throws the FB screen for a milli-second, then it disappears. BUT... it still shows up as a running app, with recent posts shown in the preview window of the running apps section (FB window above FB icon). If I try to maximize it, it goes full screen for a milli-second then disappears but is still shown as a running app.
I checked the FB account info in the iPad's Settings and it was missing my FB acct info. I added the info back in but the problem continues.
I haven't checked every app on my iPad but the Chrome, Gmail, and ebay apps are all working fine. Just tried Maps, iTunes Store, and Garageband and they all start up as expected.

I've had no problems with the Facebook App. Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
No data will be lost.

E5 Facebook app not showing communities.

I am a new user of the Nokia E5...it's only been a week now. though the buil-in Facebook app is quite good, I am not able to find in it the communities that I am a part of. so, helplessly, I end up surfing Facebook through the browser.
Can some one please confirm whether the Facebook app in E5 at all supports accessing or posting updates on communities!

Right, not the same at all. But a way around it. You can snag the photo/video that you want to share and save it to your phone, then share it that way. I never said it was ideal, I'm a little annoyed with Facebook on this one too. Just offering some advice on how to get around it for now. Never said it was the same or perfect. Just offering a temporary solution to Faizi Sheikh. Since I've done that, I'm out of this conversation now. Have a good day everyone!

Facebook App not starting

Hi all,
I have a problem with the Facebook app for my TouchPad -- it only starts up once or twice then it does not want to start anymore.
Seems like the account-related features (pictures etc) still works, just the app itself that does not want to start.
I have already tried:
Not working:
* Uninstall/Reinstall
* Uninstall/Reboot/Reinstall
Works for a short while:
* Erase data (followed by re-signin/reinstall etc)
* Doctoring (not tried it myself, but apparently also works for a little while)
Anybody else here with a TouchPad that experiences these symptoms? Doctoring/erasing is not a solution because the I have to re-do _everything_.

Great catch cronhan! As an aside, I don't think the language of your profile is effecting this (and to my knowledge can't be changed after creation).
I think it has to do with application localization. The Region Settings you mention effect the entire device and it sounds like there is a conflict between your Facebook App and the device when you change the regional settings. IMHO, I think this should be reported back to the engineers at HP.

Facebook app cant post updates or images

This is really weird & started a month or so ago after an iOS update.
At home my iPod works fine & i have no issues.
At my office, using the facebook app, I can not post a status update or comment on one - it just disappears.
All other forms of messages work fine - it is only & specifically if i post a comment on facebook. (a facebook 'like' or priviate message is ok)
I thought it must be something to do with the wi-fi - but after checking the router there are no weird settings, everything is just the default settings.
Facebook on my office computer is fine (using same wi-fi), all other apps & internet stuff works fine on my iPod at the office too - its only this one 'status update' issue that doesnt work.
Note: Using Safari on the iPod & m.facebook - i CAN post updates, so its just the FB app not working.
What could this be?

Facebook App - Not receiving notifications

Since yesterday, the facebook app on my phone(8530 curve) worked fine. I would always recieve notifcations when friends woul message me, comment on status', pictrues, etc. but yesterday for some reason, my facebook started to get buggy. It would tell me that it wasn't able to fufill my request and would display an error code at the end of that message. After 100 times of trying to log in, eventually it would let me, but then it would sign me out right away.
I was told to take out my battery & put it back in, and that worked. However, today I am not recieving notifcations. Half way through the day, I got a message that appeared on facebook when I logged in & it said something about my push notifications not being on and I would recieve a message telling me when they were working? I have no idea what that means and I have no idea how to turn push notifications on?
I checked my settings on my computer for facebook, and everything is fine. I receive facebook notifcation e-mail on my hotmail(no spam) but the notifications just won't appear on my phone.
How can I fix this? I have tried reinstalling facebook already.

Facebook App not working over 3G, but works over Wi-Fi.

I have a BlackBerry® Curve™ 3G 9330 Social Messaging Ready smartphone. My current software version is 6.0 Bundle 2333. My Facebook application worked perfectly fine when I got the phone a few months ago over the Verizon 3G network and Wi-Fi, but when I recently updated Facebook to version 2.0.0.58, it does not work over 3G anymore. But everytime I try to connect via 3G it says "We cannot reach the Facebook server at this time. Please try again later. (100)" It does however still work over Wi-Fi.
I have tried various attempts to fix it: uninstalling the App and re-installing it and also removing the battery and putting it back in (hard reset), but nothing has worked.
Is anyone else have this same issue? Is there a way to restore my Blackberry to its factory settings so that I can just use the older version of the Facebook App [that was previously installed]?

I can see from your PIN that you currently don't have browsing services included in your data plan. I would advise contacting your wireless provider to have this enabled.

5230 Facebook App not loading news feed properly

I've had the 5230 for a couple of happy months but now the preinstalled Facebook app has gone a bit weird. It connects as normal and most things work except the most important one - the news feed! When it loads, I end up with a blank screen where the feed should be. To add insult to injury, I thought I'd try Nokia for Facebook & Twitter for Ovi store but when I download, it sticks on 0%.
I can access Facebook okay on the Snaptu app but that's not as easy on the eye. Anyone else having any probs with the standard Facebook app? So annoying!

Update - Reinstalled app which was a hassle considering ovi insists it is not available for the 5230 even tho the phone comes with it. Prats, making me trawl sites needlessly. Anyway, the news feed loaded again, but when you clicked on "other" for more feed it did not load. Today it will load a 2nd page but not a 3rd. Bizarre. This software blows.

Facebook app not completely deleted?

Hi! My fiancee has an iPhone 3G with the Facebook app installed. She was having some issues with it last night, so she decided to delete it and try to reinstall it. She deleted it (by holding her finger on the app and clicking the X), but when she went to the App Store to reinstall, it's telling her that Facebook is already installed, so it won't let her download it again.
If you go to Settings on her phone, at the very bottom, there is a Facebook menu, but when you click on it, it leads to a blank screen. How can she reinstall Facebook?

Hi, I am also having the same problem, my facebook app was deleted by accident, and will not re-install, as it shows as being still installed, although I still have a blank facebook menu in my settings. The app appears fine in itunes, but refussd to re install after several re-sets and syncs!
Please can somebody from apple help with this issue, as its driving me nuts.

if you didn't get it to work after updating to 2.2, try a reset. but first delete your history, cache and cookies, then reset.

Facebook app not working since new update

Ever since I installed the new update for the phone about 2 weeks ago my FB app won't work anymore. It pops up with an error message. It's the FB app that came with the phone. I can still access everything else. I'm also having more trouble with my advanced task killer since the update. Everytime I open it theres a ton of apps running that I haven't touched so I switched my settings to the "crazy" auto-kill level but it's still not working. Help please...

For Facebook, search the market for Facebook for Android. This is the updated version of the stock Facebook. It will save over the Facebook app that is currently installed(it won't erase your data) plus this will alert you when there are new app updates.
For your tasktiller, Froyo has a decent task killer built in. There are always small tasks that happen in the background for different apps. I find that my battery lasts a little longer after I uninstall advanced task killer.

Facebook app not working on 4.0.1!!!

Ever since upgrading to the 4.0.1 platform the FAcebook app has sucked huge. The push notifications do not push. The Badges are slow, inaccurate, and unreliable. The notifications alone when using the app are non functional. I have tried everything I could think of/been told:
1) Unintsalling and reintsalling the app.
2) logging out and back in
3) disabling and reenabling notification.
4) powering down and up.
5) disabling notifications and depowering, then repowering and reenabling
6) numoerous combinations of the above.
I have contacted Facebook about it, and they give me the form answer.
Anyone have any solutions? The app was working flawlessly prior to upgrading to the new platform.

I just fixed mine.
1. On the facebook site itself you have to go to mobile and you HAVE to set up text messaging.
2. Once this is done get on your phone and in the confirmation text go ahead and tell it to stop.
3. You will get another confirmation saying text is off
4 Go back into facebook site under mobile and simple remove the phone number. The text and number will be gone but the app will still send you notifications.
