FaceTime HD webcam not working correctly ONLY in Apple-developed applications?
My sister just bought a refurbished 13" MacBook Pro, the one shown here: http://store.apple.com/us/product/FD313LL/A
We've run into a very strange issue, and I hope someone here is able to help.
The built-in camera is "flickering," but it appears to only be happening in applications made by Apple, or at least ones preinstalled on the computer. The applications affected that I have tested are: iMovie, FaceTime, Photo Booth, and iChat. It's not really a "flicker," per se, but large horizontal chunks of the video will displace and often show up as green -- it all moves very rapidly -- very hard to explain, but it is definitely not normal behavior.
iChat takes the issue a step further: the camera preview in iChat Preferences shows nothing but a blank screen.
The camera works flawlessly in Skype, and also in web browers thorugh Adobe Flash. So, I am very certain this is not a hardware issue. It also worked perfectly during the setup walkthrough when the computer was first turned on and it had her take a photo for her user account.
I've tried resetting application preferences by deleting the preference files, resetting PRAM and SMC, shutting down/restarting the computer, and I've applied all possible Software Updates. System Information (formerly System Profiler) shows the camera under USB, so the computer is recognizing it. Finally, we called Apple and they said to reinstall OS X, which my sister just did. The problem's still there. It wasn't a "clean" install though, because all of her files and preferences were kept in-tact, so maybe that is why.
I don't know what else to do. I've tried researching this issue, but it seems more people have problems with the camera in non-Apple/third-party apps, whereas our problem is just with Apple-developed apps.
I'm hoping someone else may have had this same problem and was able to fix it. Or, maybe someone knows something else I can try. As a last resort, we'll take it to the Apple Store.
Spinnn: We ended up taking it to an Apple store. They couldn't figure it out. The Geniuses there had never encountered this problem. They booted into Snow Leopard and the problem was still there. So I'm guessing it was either a hardware issue, or like you said, more likely a firmware issue.
Since they couldn't fix it in store (and I'm pretty sure they tried everything except ripping the thing apart), we had to do an online exchange because it was a refurbished product. The new one came and had no issue, even after doing all software updates and updating the firmware.

Of course im using an integrated webcam. and it is turned on, enabled an all. I've Updated my webcam, download other versions of the driver, unistalled, installed back, used recovery system, looked for others drivers for the hp pavilion dv6 2150 us. But it keeps doing the same. One moment is alright, at other moment it lost the device ...
What can i do? it is really anoying and not useful at all if when i need to use the webcam it is not detected.

Microphone and Webcam not working/Webcam not recognized by YouCam

I have a dv7-6c95dx and my YouCam program tells me that it does not recognize my integrated webcam. I have read all of the webcam forums on this site and clicked on all of the links people have posted in the forums. I have uninstalled the CyberLink YouCam program and it still comes up with the same messages. The webcam also does not show up in my device manager. The microphone is malfunction as well, it will not work any any programs including skype.
I have heard that the webcam can come unplugged internally, will that also cause the microphone to stop working? I have run out of options and I do not want to pay anyone to fix it. I would appreciate any advice on this subject.Hi DillOrNoDill,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP Pavilion dv7-6c95dx Notebook and sound and microphone issues and Webcam not working correctly. I would be happy to assist if needed. Try these steps first.
1. Right click speaker icon (right hand corner)
2. Select Playback devices
3. Right click Speakers
4. Enable it and set as Default
5. Click Apply/Ok
You could also try Microsoft troubleshooter located on your Notebook.
Here is a document on WebCam troubleshooting. The Webcam will be listed in your device manager under Imaging devices. You should be able to click the action button and scan for new hardware.

Webcam not working for Macbook Air 2013 after upgrading to OSX Mavericks? Yahoo/ Google/Skype cam chats not working. Facetime works though. Any updates of Mavericks released to fix this?
I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week.
Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
Fix:
With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.

I have an iPad 5.1.1. The calendar sync has started to not work correctly. I have it checked "All events," but it only displays the last two months for my individual entries. My repeating entires do go back further, though. How do I fix?

I believe my problem occurred when I synced my iMac calendar to my iPad calendar using yahoo. Yesterday, I unsynced them on my iMac controls. When I checked my iPad calendar, all of my old entries reappeared - but only for five seconds and disappeared again. So, the data is saved and still there but cannot be displayed, even when I have All events checked. In fact, it only shows my individual entries for the last two months, but does show all my recurring entries. If I switched to last six months, I will see everything for the last six months. If I switch back to all events, it is only for the last two months.
As I mentioned, others on here have expressed exactly the same issue, including the two month example and having used yahoo.
For legal purposes, I need to be able to use the information from my indidual calendar entries in an upcoming court case. So I really need to fix this ASAP! -

Webcam not working on new Macbook Air
My webcam does not work correctly on certain applications. I have found a supplemental download to fix this with OS Mountain Lion, but I now have OS Mavericks. Is there a supplement available for this OS or do I need to wait?

The short answer: your example is <b>NOT</b> going to work. The long answer will probably 5 pages to describe. You can see that your ENDIF statements are closing IF blocks generated by the BSP compiler. Such a nesting will not work. This is a very short form of the problem, there are a number of variations, and different types of the same problem.
The only way to solve this problem, is probably to put the body into a page fragment and include it like I did above with the duplicate HelloWorld strings. But this duplicates source code. Better is to put body onto a view, that can be processed as required.

** Filtering is not working correctly in ALV (REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY)
Hi Friends,
We have one Z report that output is displayed in ALV. We are using the standard FM 'REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
We have requirement to remove leading zeros for the field like Material Number (MATNR), Equipment Number (EQUNR) etc. We did the changes by applying the field catalog properties as below.
lw_fieldcat-lzero = space.
lw_fieldcat-no_zero = 'X'.
After this, the MATNR and EQUNR is displayed correctly in the ALV. (Leading zeros are suppressed). But, when we do filter for these fields, in the filter window it displays all the values with leading zeros.
1. We don't understand why it is showing in the Filter widow with all leading zeros. All it shows all the records instead of unique items.
Later on, we removed the above fieldcat coding. Then, we have called the CONVERSION_EXIT routines (in the domain) for the fields to remove leading zeros.
Now, the MATNR and EQUNR is displayed correctly (without leading zeros) in ALV. When we do filter, it is also doing filtering correctly. But, when we do filter which have EQUNR having long values (after zero suppression), it is not working correctly. i.e no items are displayed in the ALV.
Not only for this items. If we filter character columns which have long text, it is not filtering correctly.
2. It is not able to understand why the filtering is not working for long items. But in the standard report, the filtering is working correctly.
We are using SAP ECC 6.0.

I agreed on your point. When we define the Internal table the type for element EQUNR & QUMNR , we are referring the SAP data element for EQUNR, QMNUM field.
Our doubt is even though we refer the standard data element, in the ALV display, it shows with leading zeros and also it creates problems in the filtering and in the filter window all values instead of unique nos.

Key Figure calculation in Abap is not working correctly - Overlooping

I wrote a logic to calculate the ratio of key figure but it is not working correctly
For example I have a requirement to split 1 Product into Several new Products and also the Net Amount will be splitted to these several new products as well. The total Amount of the new product will be equivalent to the Net Amount.
So far my Logic is splitting the product to several new products but the amount is incorrect as the calculation is over looping.
Sample
A PRODUCT has Net Amount 1000. And this product needs to be splitted into 3 new products. Each of this new product is assigned a ratio of 0.3, 0.2 and 0.7 respectively. total sum of the ratio is 1.
PRODUCT1 0.3 = 1000 * 0.3 = 300
PRODUCT2 0.2 = 1000 * 0.2 = 200
PRODUCT3 0.7 = 1000 * 0.7 = 700
The total amount of this new products is 1000.
Now my logic is working this way.
PRODUCT1 0.3 = 1000 * 0.3 = 300
PRODUCT2 0.2 = 1000 * 0.2 * 0.3 = 60
PRODUCT3 0.7 = 1000 * 0.2 * 0.3 * 0.7 = 42

i bought an IPAD air (32 gb wifi only) from USA just one month ago and the screen is not working correctly(picture attached) and right now i'm in Egypt ,can i send my ipad to service in Egypt and the warranty will work in Egypt or what?
Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that fixes it ? You might be able to get warranty service in Egypt for your iPad, but the warranty includes :
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.
Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.
As it's wifi-only you should have a better chance of it being serviced under warranty, but there are no guarantees, it might depend upon the repairer.

Share point in server admin not working correctly... I think
I suspect that the share point in server admin is not working correctly. In workgroup manager when I click on a user and then click on the "home" tab, under the full path field I see a file path of:
afp://server.mydomain.com/Users
However if I go to Server Admin -> AFP -> Share Points then click on the Users share and then click on the share point tab below, enable auto mount is disabled. How can this be possible? I thought for a directory to show up in home in workgroup manager it had to be set as an auto mount. Has something possibly corrupted? And what?Here's a bit more information about our setup and our experiences with Apple's CUPS implementation:
On the server, all printer queues are set up with only lpr and ipp sharing enabled with the PPD setting for each printer set to Generic Postscript. We found that setting the PPD to the printer specific one on the server caused problems when clients tried to use printer specific options, like paper tray selection, etc.. The selection would be undone, apparently because the driver on the server would override the previous settings. Using Generic Postscript allows the client PPD settings to go through unmodified. Our printers are general a mix of HP LaserJets and some Sharp Copiers.
All clients use lpd to the server queues with the printers' actual PPDs configured. Using ipp is superior in that printer feedback (jams, out of toner, etc) makes it back to the clients, but ipp only works when the client, the server, and the printer are on the same network. If the ipp client is not on the same network, the client spooler immediately goes into a paused state and the print job is stuck on the client.
Using lpd to the server queues works reliably, but there is no feedback to the client. Jobs disappear from the client queue and go to the server, appearing to the user as a successful print. If the printer is down, there's nothing they can see or do about it. -
System Update not working correctly

System Update (Version 4.00.0024) is not working correctly on my T500 with Windows 7.
1: Not detecting old versions
SU is not detecting, that there is an old version of Access Connection (5.42) installed although there is a new version 5.50 avaliable. I had to do a manual update.
2: Not installing a suggested update
Each time I run SU, I get a suggested update for "Fix for Issue of HDD with HDP Detection for Windows Vista/7". After downloading there comes a meaningless message "package was not installed" (Paket wurde nicht installiert). No hint for any error.
3: Some drivers (e.g. for the ultranav) have not been downloaded at all - I had to test the functions of some hardware components and download the appropriate drivers manually in case of malfuncion.
Probably there is a solution known within the forum community, at least this should be a message to lenovo (I received no response from the help desk when reporting this finding).

Exchange 2013 - 2007 coexistence - activesync 2007 does not work correctly
Exchange 2013 SP1. On going Saga- Last night we cut over to full co-existence with DNS changes for use of legacy namespace and had to roll back again. We had only two issues but one was considered a show stopper.
The main issue was that Active Sync would not work correctly for 2007 users. It failed the exchange connectivity test and would only work on a device if the domain was entered - or if the legacy namespace was entered manually. That would have meant
chaos for several thousand users so we rolled back. (It worked perfectly for 2013 users).
The error given by the test was "foldersync failed" when I drilled down into the detail. It found autodiscover but failed after the initial handshake. (All other tests passed for 2007 and 2013 users)
We tried:
1. Populating both Autodisover internal and external urls with the legacy namespace
2. Populating only the internal url and leaving the external blank (both 1 and 2 had the same result)
3. Leaving both URLs blank to force 2013 to proxy to the 2007 cas (totally broke it- would not resolve at all)
I don't know if this is related but SSO is failing for 2007 OWA - two prompts.
Environment notes- all internal co-existence is working and the internal LTM F5's are working. Externally we use 2 GTM F5 to the LTM f5's to Ex2013. 2007 has SSL being passed through all the way to the CAS. Servers are split into CAS and MBX over 2 DC's.
Everything else externally was working when we cut over.

When I video something now i get a crackling sound when I replay the video. From reading some sites it seems the problem comes from the time I downloaded tge latest ios7 update. I an trying to find out how to recover from this problem
