Facing problem in selecting data based on the join s tatement ppls suggest

hi
cosider a sceneio as below
there  are six tables    table1
                                table2
                                table3       table4
                                                           table5 table6
join conditons between tables
table1-lclic (primary key) = table2-lclic
table1-lgreg = table3-lgreg (PK for table 3)
table2-pobj = table4-pobj
i have used join statment to join table 1 table 2table3
i want to select data from table5
table5-ccngn and table6-text
now condion for validation is that
table5-field1 is selected if table4-ctsex = table3-ctsty and tehre is no link between table 5 and table 3 o nly link is through table 4
table4-ctsnum=table5-ctsnum (primary keys)
can anyone suggest how to format the select statement
regards
Arora

Hi Nishant,
Using Table Joins for multiple tables would severely hamper the performance of the SAP system.
Instead use individual select statements for each database table, and later reconcile all the internal tables.

  • Problem while calculating date based on the selection

    Hi friends,
On my selection screen i have 2 fields
    a) 1 WEEK
    b) 2 weeks
now when the user enters value yes in 1 week it should display the data which are less than one week old from current date and if user enters yes in 2weeks field then it should display the data which are less than 2 weeks old from the current date.
ie : in my internal table i have a date field zdate
now i should check if the ZDATE is within one week range  ( for 1WEEK FIELD ) it should display only that data.
similary i should check for ( 2week field on the selection scree)
    How can i do that...
Any function modules available for the above requirment.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Kumar

    Hi Kumar,
SY-DATUUM - X does not work when the month and year changes..
for example if the current date is 02/01/2010
now if i say sy-datum - 7 , the system will not recognise the month and year change here...
    I'm not sure what you're saying here is accurate.  I created the following piece of code to check;
    data l_var type datum.
    l_var = '20100102'.
    l_var = l_var - 7.
    Write: / L_var.
The value of l_var at the end was 26.12.2009, which seems to work for me. Anurag's answer seems to be correct.

    Nick
P.S. Your question actually breaks the forum rules, questions on manipulating dates have been asked many times before and the answers typically only require basic arithmatic

  • Facing problem with a date column in select query

    Hi,
I am facing problem with a date column. Below is my query and its fainling with " invalid number format model" .
    Query: SELECT *
    FROM EMP
    WHERE trunc(LAST_UPDATED) >= to_date(to_char(22-05-2009,'dd-mm-yyyy'),'dd-mm-yyyy')
LAST_UPDATED column is "DATE" data type.
    Please help me Thanks

You do not need the TRUNC here in any case.
I don't think so. What if the user wants only data for 22nd May and the table has records with date later than 22nd also? In that case your query willl not work. In order for the Index to work, I think the query can be written like this I think Sean is right though. Use of TRUNC Function is quiet useless based on the condition given here, since the to_date Function used by OP will always point to midnight of the specified date, in this case 22-05-2009 00:00:00.

    Jo
Edit: I think Sean proved his point... ;)

    HI Mahesh,
    <TRANSACTION_RECEIPT_DATE>07-Apr-09</TRANSACTION_RECEIPT_DATE>
    this is not a date,
so you should change the query to get you the format in xsd format : YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss+HH:MM
otherwise, you have to write a custom sort function to decode and order it it.
if you dont do the custom order and use
    <?sort:TRANSACTION_RECEIPT_DATE;'ascending';data-type='date'?>
the data will be treated as string and you will see the row is sorted on string.

  • Select data based on status priority

    138307     4940     37506     5250     6532     WIP
    Hi,
From the above table i need to select data based on status any status that is prior to CLOSE or ACCEPTED it must display all the status any status that is after CLOSE or ACCEPTED we must not consider.
In the above scenioro it must display only the first three status. after ACCEPTED it must not display any thing
Please suggest me a query how to write.
    Thanks
    Sudhir.

    Try:
    SQL> with t as (

  • Select records based on the closest given time

    Dear SQL gurus,
    I have a table T1:
    Name Null? Type
    ID NOT NULL NUMBER(5)
MOMENT NOT NULL DATE [DD.MM.YYYY HH24:MI]
    MEASUREMENT NOT NULL NUMBER(8,3)
    Example (ID, MOMENT, MEASUREMENT)
    -- START OF EXAMPLE --
    9380 18.11.2000 03:45 17.6
    9380 18.11.2000 04:30 17.3

    9380 18.11.2000 13:45 15.4
    --- END OF EXAMPLE --
How to select records based on the:
    - time period specified by the day only [DD.MM.YYYY] - CONDITION 1
    - with values for 6AM only, and if not available, with values closest to 6AM - CONDITION 2
(if the time gap in MOMENT field is too big, lets say > 5h then choose the average between the value before 6AM (ex. 4:15AM) and the value after the 6AM (ex. 9:45AM))
CONDITION 1 (something like): moment between '01.01.2005' and '31.12.2004' - this is OK
CONDITION 2: I do not know how to formulate, especially if 6AM value is not availabe, and I have to find the closest available value, or get the avergae from the two adjacent values.
Maybe cursor magic??? Thanks a lot for your help.
    Rado

About condition two, would the following select be of use to you? Picking the first record could be achived by rownum, analytic function, etc.
    WITH t1 AS (SELECT 9380 id, TO_DATE('18.11.2000 03:45', 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi') moment,  17.6 measurement
                  FROM dual
                 UNION
                SELECT 9380 id, TO_DATE('18.11.2000 04:30', 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi') moment,  17.3 measurement
                  FROM dual
                 UNION
                SELECT 9380 id, TO_DATE('18.11.2000 05:45', 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi') moment,  16.8 measurement
                  FROM dual
                 UNION
                SELECT 9380 id, TO_DATE('18.11.2000 06:15', 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi') moment,  16.8 measurement
                  FROM dual
    SELECT id, moment, measurement, diff
      FROM (SELECT id, moment, measurement,
                   moment - TO_DATE(TO_CHAR(moment, 'dd.mm.yyyy ') || '06:00', 'dd.mm.yyyy hh24:mi') diff
              FROM t1
    ORDER BY abs(diff) asc, SIGN(diff) desc;
      C.

  • I've to extract the data based on the sysdate...like today dd is 11,

BM_PERF is the table name and
    BM_PERF_YR,BM_PERF_MONTH,BM_NOP_CT_1........BM_NOP_CT_31 are the column names.
I've to extract the data based on the sysdate...like today dd is 11
so i've to get data from BM_NOP_CT_11 and the column names changes dynamically based on the sysdate. don't use any procedures and functions.

You could always pivot it into a more convenient form for querying:
    WITH t1 AS
( SELECT 2008 AS yr, 4 AS mnth
                , 20 AS dy1
                , 10 AS dy2
                , 15 AS dy3
                , 1  AS dy4
                , 17 AS dy5
                , 99 AS dy6
                , 55 AS dy7
                , 45 AS dy8
                , 33 AS dy9
                , 22 AS dy10
                , 74 AS dy11
                , 35 AS dy12
                , 62 AS dy13
                , 24 AS dy14
                , 85 AS dy15
           FROM dual )
       , t2 AS
         ( SELECT yr
                , mnth
                , sys.DBMS_DEBUG_VC2COLL
                  (dy1,dy2,dy3,dy4,dy5,dy6,dy7,dy8,dy9,dy10,dy11,dy12,dy13,dy14,dy15)
                  AS day_data
           FROM   t1 )
    SELECT t2.yr, t2.mnth, sys_op_ceg(t2.day_data,5) day_value
    FROM   t2;
            YR       MNTH DAY_VALUE
          2008          4 17
1 row selected.Note that SYS_OP_CEG (first discovered by Padders) is undocumented and unsupported - for production code you'd need to pick the collection row using a WHERE clause, and for that you'd need a custom object and collection type with an attribute to hold the day number.

Thanks odessy27, Matthew Kelton, for replying.
Matthew Kelton: Thanks for the solution i am adding outer loop so that i can increase the number of row. I am using it for some application which require me to save data several time and i used random number here but originally instead of random number there will be power meter reading and i want to save it every hour and plot it. I am also attaching a file what i made I don't know is this a good way or not. Actually i will also beneeded to plot a graph. But again how to increase a row and without replacing previous data i can write another row.
Yes i want to make one row for each iteration.
I attached both files in 2009 version.

  • Formatting a Date based on the user's Locale

I'm having some trouble formatting a date based on the user's locale. I'm aware you can do something like this:
       public static String getAsString( Object dateObject, Locale locale ) {
          DateFormat dateFormat = DateFormat.getDateInstance( DateFormat.MEDIUM, locale );
          return dateFormat.format( dateObject );
However, this is returning something like Jan 21, 2009. I need 01/21/2009. Of course, if this was the UK locale it'd have to be 21/01/2009. Any help would be appreciated.

another issue I'm running into is that when I'm logged in as a users' locale which uses '-' instead of '/' (i.e. 21-01-2009), I get a parse error. Can anyone provide any input? Thanks.

  • Problem in displaying totals based on the Unit of measurement.

    Hi,
I have Problem in displaying totals based on the Unit of measurement.
I want to display the total in the output of the alv based on the unit of measurement. for example i have three fields in the output namely
    Matnr           Quantity      UOM
    51                10              EA
    61                10              KG
    71                10              KG
In the total i should get
                    10         EA
                    20         KG
Can anyone tell me how to do this?
The basic req is the exclude the qty with unit EA(each) in the totals.
    Thanks,
    Amit

    H i,
you can use the collect statement
    to get the proper result
loop at itab.  ( all the records)
move all the fields from itab to another
    collect itab1.
    write: itab1-fields, itab1-fields.
    endloop.
    this will solve your problem
    reward points if helpful,
    thanks & regards,

  • Select data from all the table names in the view

    Hi,
"I have some tables with names T_SRI_MMYYYY in my database.
I created a view ,Say "Summary_View" for all the table names
    with "T_SRI_%".
Now i want to select data from all the tables in the view
    Summary_View.
How can i do that ? Please throw some light on the same?
    Thanks and Regards
    Srinivas Chebolu

    Srinivas,
There are a couple of things that I am unsure of here.
Firstly, does your view definition say something like ...
    Select ...
    From "T_SRI_%"
If so, it is not valid. Oracle won't allow this.
The second thing is that your naming convention for the
tables suggests to me that each table is the same except
that they store data for different time periods. This would be
a very bad design methodology. You should have a single
table with an extra column to state what period is referred to,
although you can partition it into segments for each period if
    appropriate.
Apologies if i am misinterpreting your question, but perhaps
you could post your view definition and table definitions
    here.

  • Report to show data based on the Selection

I have a prompt which is having three filters i.e. Region Country and City.
I have to create a report which shuold show the revenue share based on the selection of the Prompt.
Say When the Region is selected as Eurpoe then report should be:
    Europe : 12%
Say When the Counrty is selected as UK then report should be:
    UK: 6%
Say When the City iis selected as London then report should be:
    London : 1.2%
How can we get this implemented?

You want a level based measure in the BMM which will allow you to derive the region share regardless of filtering.
Then simply use Region is prompted in the report to filter for only the region you want.
For level based measure, duplicate your measure and drag it to the total level of your Region hierarchy. Define you % measure in the BMM as a logical calc.
    Hope this helps,
    Regards
    Alastair
