Fail and Replace Message
This seems like such an obvious thing to want to do in TestStand, but being new to TestStand I am not sure what the best way is to do it...
When we run a test using TestStand, our goal is to determine if we have a failed piece of equipment. If we have a failure, we want to have a message describing the specific piece of equipment that needs to be replaced. We want this callout message to show up in the TestStand report, as well as on the screen as the Test runs.
Any clues as to the best way to do this? A message popup would work for the screen, but that wouldn't go in the report.
Use Step.Result.ReportText and set it to anything you want. It will appear in the report. For example, in a post expression for your step, you could include the line Step.Result.ReportText = "Equipment Failure: " + Locals.Equip, where Locals.Equip would be a string containing the name of the failed equipment, like "DMM". The text "Equipment Failure: DMM" will appear in the report.

When I use Preview,Photo Mechanic and Pages, all JPEG or RAW images appear corrupted.

When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

ACE : PROBE-FAILED and Syslog messages
Hi,
When a real server is in PROBE-FAILED status, I observe a syslog message at each trial of the proble. This fills our syslog server. Is there a mean to configure the ACE in such a way that a syslog message would be generated only when a transition occurs in the probe status ?

You can utilize "logging trap " command and
"logging message level " command
in order to achive what you are seeking.
The "logging trap " command limits the logging messages sent to a syslog server based on severity.
If it is set to "5 - notification", all messages that have security level of 5 or lower number are sent to the syslog server.
You can disable the display of a specific syslog
message or change the severity level of a specific system log message using
"logging message level " command.
Not sure what kind of probe you are using but If it is ICMP probe and
the reason of probe failure is arp, it generates a message for every try
as below with severity level of 3, by default.

If your "logging trap " is set to "5 - notification" and you do not want
the message "%ACE-3-251009:xxx" to be sent to syslog server,
you can change its security level like below.
switch/Admin(config)# logging message 251009 level 6
switch/Admin(config)# do show logging message 251009
Message logging:
message 251009: current-level 6 default-level 3 (enabled)
You can check the message id that is filling the syslog server
and change its security level to higher number than "logging trap ".

Hard drive failed and replaced. Now can't sync Iphone
I had a hard drive that failed and can not sync my iphone with my new Imac. I don't care about all the music, as I have that backed up, but I can't figure out a way to get all my applications sync'd.
I restore my iphone and backup through Icloud but it won't let me sync with my new computer.
Is there any way that I can do this?
I don't have to purchase all applications again right?

Open the Java pane in System Preferences. A separate application will launch. In the Security tab, check the box marked
Enable Java content in the browser
If necessary, adjust the Security Level slider, but if you must reduce the level, do so only temporarily and only if you are absolutely sure of what you're doing. Don't do this to play a game or because a stranger on the Internet asked you to. Java can be dangerous.
If your browser is Safari, you may also need to make changes to the plugin settings in the Security tab of its preferences window. -
When I try to send email from phone I get message net sign in failed and the messages won't send
Why do I get the message net sign in failed when I try to send email from my phone? This just started about a week ago and I am unable to send email.

Let's get those emails sending! When you get the message, does the device prompt you to sign in to your email? If so, does it give you a different error message? The same? What type of email is it? Are you able to send/receive if using the PC? One option is to uninstall, then reinstall the email account from your device. Please give that a try and keep me posted on the results.

After around 18month the board or CPU seem to have expired. Locked up after running al day and had to unplug power to stop.
Repowered but lights at fromt flashed on and off at 1 sec intervals. Left over nignt now wont start at all only lights on back panel showing. Suspect blown up.
Q1 - Anyone any offers other than PSU which I will try 1st.
Q2 - As i am using 2 HD on raid 0 can I replace the board with a newer one without losing the data.
Q3 - I need a quiet Pc as its in my bedroom and im not too bothered about speed do any suitable boards permit underclocking.

If I change to an 865pe fisr will i loose all the data on the raid 0 config. Presumably you mean the promise raid chipset number that has to be the same.
To my knowledge it is only possible to increase the FSB on the MSI boards.
I already have a quiet zalnan cooler but need quiet to get to sleep so underclocking seems the solution. (I only want the pc to store CCTV and internet so performance not an issue).

I conected my iphone 3gs to Itunes It says there was an update so i agreed it also recommended I do a back up so I agreed. then half way through the process it failed and a message popped up saying unable to contact server try again later. and alls I have on the phone now is a picture indicating to plug into itunes.
Any Clues ???? as when I plug in it says I need to restore the phone and it fails again. it was working fine before I did the updateIs this phone locked to a cell carrier?

GTX 660Ti Pe 2GD5/OC driver fail and recover, artifacts on screen
Hello everyone,
Some days ago my pc started suddenly to show artifacts on screen, and a fail and recover message of the video driver showed in the taskbar.
This happened since I bought FC3 Blood Dragon (the game is very unstable, crashes),obviously I don't know if this is related.
This happened also during web navigation and the windows pc score test.
I have updated the nvidia driver to latest version, but it's still the same.

this morning at the boot , the horizontal white lines appeared again (with the two stick of memory that yesterday I believed were good).
These lines, i don't know how,caused windows 8 crashing at startup, then I heared a bip form the inside of the pc, windows failed to recovery and then appeared a message that was necessary to restore from a previous checkpoint ! But the mouse was not working so I rebooted from the onboard button in the motherboard.
Now the mouse works, the system seems ok, but really i don't understand this situation.
Is possible that the bad ram sticks are more than one ?
that BIP: that may have been a bip to signify that the Graphics card had CRASHED.... (maybe your Graphics card may be the main Fault here and its got bad VRAM)
your RAM: totally possible that more then one is BAD which is why i said "test each pair or better yet test each Stick individually if possible!" that way you can find out if one or more are bad...

page fault is a HDD error and may be as a resort of the crash and some bad DATA has been wrote to your HDD or SSD! could also be a RAM Error Sending bad DATA to your hard drive thats not clean.... -
How do I remove one failing hard drive from raid set and replace with new one
Last Friday apparently one of my raid drives started failing.
As I mentioned on this forum I started getting continous beeping.
I was finally able to get the raid working at a degraded level. I ordered a replacement hard drive which is arriving today.
(In the meantime I made twice daily backups of my work.....)
Below was the message I got from the browser based raid software:

At one point when I did the checked the browser interface I saw the message Failed and Degraded
As I said, I was able to work over the weekend on the degraded system.
This morning I got the beeping again and did the rescue and now I am running a "full raid" without the notice that one raid was "Free".
In any case, the new hard drive is arriving today.
What steps should I take to incorporate the new drive into the raid system.
I have one OS drive
and 4 tb raid drives. One needs to be replaced with the new one that I am getting today.

Please tell me how to read the serial number from an individual drive rather easily, without un-installing them:
If you select the proper drive to change out, you only need to remove one drive and look at its serial number...
Step 1: Identify bad drive serial number using Areca's tools
Step 2: Turn off the computer
Step 3: Remove what you think is the bad drive based on following your numbered cable method, marked hot-swap bays, whatever
Step 4: Verify that the serial number matches the "bad drive" serial number from step 1; if it does great, proceed; if it does not match, go back to step 3
Step 5: Change out the CORRECT drive - that's the bottom line for this whole procedure

How to replace message in the forms when table level constraint fails!!

I have table level constraint in database.
when constraint fails i get message in the forms like
"ORA-00001 : UInique Constraint (CYAN.FA_JV_DTL_PK) violated"
I know i can replace this message by using trigger on-error.
but for this I have to write on-error trigger in my all the forms.
is there any short cut at database level?
so i can map my messages for each and every constraint.
by doing that database should send user defined message to the form instead of in-built database messages.

I did not have my backup with me when my hard drive failed and was replaced at the Apple store. Now it will not download to my new hard drive. A message says that "the volume has the worng case sensitivity for a backup". How can I resore my data from the backup?

My Photoshop Elements 9 stopped working a couple of weeks ago. When I clicked the PSE button nothing happened. I tried this several times over a few days and it still failed. I uninstalled the program and re-installed it. It worked well. Then I tried to install the Update 9.0.3. The download was almost successful. When it was about to show 100% successful for the download, an error message said the installation had failed and that I should try later. I tried this many times over a few days and the same result occurred. I tried troubleshooting and the answers to questions, but I could not find an answer. I don't know where to go to see if anybody has answered my question. How can I install Update 9.0.3?

IPhone fails receiving calls and text messages
Hi everyone, here is my problem.
I have an iPhone 4 32GB. It was on iOs 5.1 (always worked perfectly) untill few days ago I have upgraded to iOs 7.1.
The problem after the upgrade is that phone calls or sms messages fails to be received. Strange thing is I can receive at times calls from cellphones, but I don't receive calls from land line numbers. And text messages arrive all at once after hours.
I have restored the phone in DFU mode twice, set up as new phone , tried a hard reset, network reset... nothing worked. It still fails to receive phone calls and sms messages.
Before you ask, the "don't disturb" is disabled.
I live in Italy and have a contract with TIM, i spoke with their cistomer service and according to them there's nothing more i can do on my end.
Any idea?

Search and Replace String throwing the wrong error message with regexp?
This came up in a LAVA thread, and I'm not sure if there's a bug here or not. When using Search and Replace string, and using a regular expression of [(G[b|i])], LabVIEW throws error -4622, "There is an unmatched parenthesis in a regular expression." There are obviously no unmatched parenthesis in that expression, so it seems to me that the wrong error is being thrown. I'm just not sure if that's a syntactically valid regexp. The problem seems to be with nesting [ ]'s inside ( )'s inside [ ]'s. I've tried a couple of regexp resources on the Web, and one suggests it's valid, while the other seems to think it isn't.

It's not my regular expression. A poster at LAVA was having problems with one of his (a truly frightening one), and this seemed to be the element that was causing the problem. I'm pretty sure that the originator of the regexp meant to use G(b|i), which seems like a complicated way of matching "Gb" or "Gi", if you ask me.
