FAIL - Application at context path /webapp could not be started
Hi,
I have the code under c:\my_name_ccview\source\code\MyWebApplication.
I use Netbeans 5.5.1 and bundled tomcat 5.5.17. I can compile and build the MyWebApplication.war file.
In the context file I defined <Context path="/webapp">
</Context>
When I try to deploy it to the bundled tomcat I get the error FAIL - Application at context path /webapp could not be started.
I also tried building the application and then try Run Debug without deploying application. Still the same problem. My application wont start. When I check the runtime tab on netbeans and check applications under bundled tomcat I see /webapp -[stop]
Please any help is much appreciated
What you should do is test ur application by deploying it in the examples folder of tomcat and them try to run it and it will work. But this is only the temporary solution.

I'm doing some tutorials in a book called core javaserver pages.
I've followed each step to what appears to be a "t" and i still cannot get my application to start. I've placed my .war file in my webapps directory. The .war file expands and all the content appears to be there. When i go into the tomcat manager to start the app manually;I get the error FAIL - Application at context path /login could not be started.
I had it working before- by fluke. But now it's gone and i can't get it back.
I'm having a tough time even finding where to look. Can someone offer any suggestions?here is one of the errors i get in my tomcat/log directory

when i deploy my application, i build it in a dos window but when i view it in tomcat manager i get the above error sayin that it failed to start....any ideas!!! is it a classpath issue!!
thanks in advance jimboI have a similar problem; I have a JSF application that was working fine under Tomcat 4.1, however it fails to deploy under Tomcat 5. With Tomcat 4.1 deployment simply meant putting the WAR in the webapps directory and starting the server. Is this the same for Tomcat 5? Are there any other settups required that I'm missing.

Event ID 2776 The worker process failed to initialise correctly and therefore could not be started
Hi All,
I'm getting the dreaded 503 Service Unavailable error on a freshly installed instance of SharePoint 2013 Foundation on a 2008 Server.
I get this error when I try opening the Central Administration Console.
It would appear that the worker process for the Central Administration console is crashing.
In the System event log, I see a stack of 5009 Errors:
Event Id 5009, WAS
A process serving application pool 'SharePoint Central Administration V4' has terminated unexpectedly.
Then I get an error:
Event id 5009, WAS
Application pool 'SharePoint Central Administration V4' is being automatically disabled due to a series of failures.
What I see:
In IIS, Both these application pools have stopped:
SharePoint Central Administration v4
SecurityTokenServiceApplicationPool
If I start them up, then try accessing the Central Administration portal in IE, I get a 503 error, Service Unavailable
When I check out the pools in IIS Manager, both pools have stopped.
What I've tried:
Ensured the password Identity is correct for each pool (the one that was used during the install, DB Account)
Ensured that 32 bit Applications are disabled for both Application pools
Ensured that the DB Account user has the following policy rights:
Logon as a service
Logon as a batch job
Replace a process level token
Any other ideas?

All things you have to do is as follows:
1. Open regedit.exe
2. Naviagate to following key:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\Internet]
3. Click Edit Menu -> New -> DWORD with name of "FSSHTTPOff"
(without quotes)
4. Click on "FSSHTTPOff" and enter value of 1
5.
Close any Office Applications and browser sessions
6. Try to reopen your document (no more read only or failure to upload)

We are getting the error "RWRBE60.EXE - Application Error. The memory could not be written" in two of the 5 machines. That too, this error is encountered only some times and not always.
Scenario: The report builder generates the .PDF file and places it in the network path. The report is called from the forms 6i. We are using the Report Builder - 6.0.8.20.1.
This error is encountered in only 2 machines but not always.
It's a critical release issue. Could any let us know the possible solution?

I am using ALSB 3.0 and I am trying to deploy a ALSB configuration jar. I am seeing the following exception during deployment.

If i restart the Weblogic server and redeploy it works. I will not have the convenience of restart on the production systems. I need to nail this issue on my test system and I am looking for help.

My set up is as below
One Admin server and two Managed server which are in a cluster. All deployments are done using the Admin server.
The ALSB configuration Jar uses the ALSB business service to lookup to a JNDI provider.
I am a newbie and I am not sure if I have provided all the details for someone to help me out. Please let me know if you need more information.

Support.Looking at the information provided I assume that you are modifying some BS related to EJB and activating the session with new changes.
Instead of restarting servers you can also see if this workaround is working.
1) disable the BS and commit the session
2) modify changes to BS and enable BS and commit session.
Let me know if the above work-around is working.Ideally we should not see the behavior what you are observing. Track it through support to get a fix. While activating the changes, OSB deletes the old resource and creates a new resource. During this stage something is going wrong inside OSB (clash of JNDI names for old and new resources OSB deploys).
I also vaguely remember that some issues with JNDI that got resolved in later releases.Please check with support to confirm if there is an existing patch already.

Crash, crash, crash The application arch quit unexpectedly. could not load inserted library (???)
I keep getting the notice on my desktop, "The application arch quit unexpectedly. could not load inserted library: /Library/Application Support/DriveGenius/libdf.dylib".
If I dismiss the notice it reappears in 10 seconds., crashes every 10 seconds.
I'm assuming that Application Arch is an archive file.
I've got several hundred archive files according to the app "Find Any File", dunno which is the offending one.
In /Library/Application Support there's no DriveGenius/libdf.dylib to be found, not even in ~Library/Application Support. I can't even locate a DriveGenius/libdf.dylib file anywhere in my system.
I don't even have DriveGenius installed.
Where do I go from here?

Networking is host-only, I tried bridged but that doesn't make a difference for the problem at hand. I can ping my virtual box just fine, telnet to port 1521 looks good too:

When I create a new connection with sql developer, with the same hostname / IP (192.168.56.101), Port 1521 (didn't change that) and SID orcl, basic connection type, it can't even connect, throwing the error mentioned in the subject:

I have looked at various threads in the forums here but I'm still stymied why the connection seems to be ok, yet sql developer has problems with it. If I create an ssh tunnel so sql developer only has to connect to localhost it works:
ssh -L 1521:192.168.56.101:1521 -l oracle 192.168.56.101

This may be of varoius reasons..
Is the database that you are connecting on the same PC?
You have specified Hostname: localhost.
If not please replace it with the IP of that server.
Else please check whether the database listener is started or not. if not please start the listener.
Check the SID by tnsping command.

Your solution worked when applied to a administrative user account but did work with a student account.
I'm not sure why that is happening.
If you're on Vista or Windows 7, you could try setting the program to run permanently as Administrator, as described here:

I observed the same problem and can add more detail if required.
In short, I required an entry in /etc/hosts for my.hostname that was declared against my actual interface IP address (192.168.0.x). I believe this is due to the behaviour of a call to getHostByName() in the weblogic platform startup sequence when initialising the web tier.
Error:
*2011-12-11 15:35:39,343 [main] INFO util.WebTierUtil getProcessResult.475 - opmnctl cmd error: Can not resolve my.hostname for interface any*
This caused the web tier startup to fail and thus the subsequent agent registration to fail.
_/etc/hosts when install failed with_
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
127.0.0.1 my.hostname my.hostname
_/etc/hosts addition that succeeded_
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
127.0.0.1 my.hostname my.hostname
192.168.0.x my.hostname my.hostname
Note that my.hostname in /etc/hosts matches the HOSTNAME value in /etc/sysconfig/network
(also note that my.hostname is not actually my hostname ;)
