Failed Job Query on Central Management Registered Servers - Host Server is not included in results

The following standard query works great for showing failed jobs on servers. Executing this in Central Management Registered Servers works as expected, but the Host Server results are not listed, and the same query needs to be executed against the host server
too.
e.g.
Registered Servers are defined on Server A
Results are displayed from servers B, C, D & E - but results are not displayed for Server A.
How do we receive results from Server A without having to execute a separate query ?

Hi vsla,
According to your description, I do a test. When I designate a Central Management Servers and create server groups, then execute statements against
 multiple configuration targets simultaneously, it
indeed only contains the results of server groups, you need to execute again on the host server (Central Management Servers) then display the results of Central Management Servers, because the Central Management Server cannot be a member
of a group that it maintains.
If you want to get all servers results by executing the statement one time. I recommend you use Local Server Groups, create new register server and add all servers to the Local Server Groups, then right click “new query
“, execute the statements, it will display all results about all servers. There are more details about administering multiple servers using Central Management Servers, you can review the following article.http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb895144

  • Standard Manager executing other programs which are not INCLUDED .

    hello guys,
We are having eBiz 11.5.9 environment and 9.2.0.6 Database on AIX 5.3 32-bit environment.
I am new to this client's environment and found that, there are 3 include specialization rules defined for Standard Manager which does not include "Active Responsibilities" program but still this Standard Manager is executing "Active Responsibilities" without any issues.
    How is this possible ???
Ideally, Standard Manager should only run those 3 included programs ONLY and for rest of the programs which are not assigned to any of the concurrent manager , we should get "INACTIVE/No Manager" message.
My 2nd question is, when I am running this oracle seeded script $FND_TOP/sql/afrqscm.sql which shows the manager assigned to the perticular request id, it gives the below output,(Below is request id is for "Active Responsibilities")
    ===================================
    SQL> @afrqscm.sql
    Enter request ID : 22035368
Request 22035368 can be run by the following concurrent managers:
    Running Manager
    20 STANDARD
    0 ALTS
Below are the active concurrent manager log filenames:
    no rows selected
    ===================================
In our environment , ALTS is DISABLED manager without having any specialization rules attached to it and its basically a "Backup standard manager".
I am wondering, what setup is required to have backup concurrent manager like ALTS which will take care of requests in case standard manager goes down ?????
Ebiz architecture is one Admin/conc/db Tier (Aix 32 bit) and 5 Web nodes ( RHEL Linux 32 bit).
    Thanks,
    Prasad

    Hi Hussein,
    Thnks for your reply,
My second doubt is resolved as even though there are no specialization rules assigned to ALTS manager , that means it is exactly the same as that of Standard Manager and will execute all the programs. Below is statement from your mentioned pdf ,
    =========
Specialize your manager to run only certain kinds of requests. Without specialization rules, a manager accepts requests to start any concurrent program.
    =========
Regarding your first question, Yes , we do bounce managers once in a month , below is the status of those two conc programs which are INCLUDED in Standard Manager.
    SQL> select 'Concurrent program '||fcp.concurrent_program_name||' is ' ||decode(fcqc.include_flag,'I','included in ','E','excluded from ')||fcqv.user_concurrent_queue_name specialization_rule_details from fnd_concurrent_queues_vl fcqv,fnd_concurrent_queue_content fcqc,fnd_concurrent_programs fcp where fcqv.concurrent_queue_id=fcqc.concurrent_queue_id and fcqc.type_id=fcp.concurrent_program_id and fcp.concurrent_program_name='CPINR080C';
    SPECIALIZATION_RULE_DETAILS
Concurrent program CPINR080C is included in Standard Manager
Concurrent program CPINR080C is excluded from TESTPlus General
    SQL> select 'Concurrent program '||fcp.concurrent_program_name||' is ' ||decode(fcqc.include_flag,'I','included in ','E','excluded from ')||fcqv.user_concurrent_queue_name specialization_rule_details from fnd_concurrent_queues_vl fcqv,fnd_concurrent_queue_content fcqc,fnd_concurrent_programs fcp where fcqv.concurrent_queue_id=fcqc.concurrent_queue_id and fcqc.type_id=fcp.concurrent_program_id and fcp.concurrent_program_name='CPDOR270C';
    SPECIALIZATION_RULE_DETAILS

  • Odd firewall issue, remote management works on 1 server, not the other

I've enabled port forwarding, made sure I mapped address to mac ports in the DHCP client settings (to ensure a "static" address), and choose the correct IP address for port forwarding. Then, I enable remote management on my snow leopard laptop then connect remotely (from outside lan) and it works. To the reverse, my 10.5.8 OS X server set up with the same items (although the menus are slightly different given each are diff versions), change port forwarding IP addresses on router, and try outside the lan from the client to connect to the server. Failed. Of course, remote management works fine on the LAN in both directions, only fails from snow leopard client to 10.5.8 server when not on same lan.
    So, to illustrate:
10.5.8 (client) ---> internet --> router --> snow leopard laptop (server) WORKS!!
snow leopard laptop (client) --> internet --> router --> 10.5.8 (server) FAILS!!!
client --> LAN --> server (in either direction) WORKS!!

  • SSMS 2012 - Central Management Servers

How does the Central Management Servers work?
    I found
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb934126(v=sql.110).aspx
    So, step 1: I registered server (looks to me like a group name);
step 2: I registers my SQL Server instances under that registered server (New Server Registration)
step 3: In theory, I can right click on the name on step 1 and choose New Query. And I can issue something like
    SELECT DISTINCT name
    FROM msdb.dbo.sysjobhistory a, msdb.dbo.sysjobs b
    WHERE a.job_id = b.job_id
    AND a.run_status = 0 --is fail, 1 is pass
    AND convert(varchar(8),a.run_date, 112) = convert(varchar(8),dateadd(dd,-1,getdate()), 112)
    ORDER BY b.name
and I should get all the jobs for each server (from step 2) that failed yesterday.
So can I re-run the failed job from Central Management Servers? Or was my example above the only purpose of Central Management Servers?

    Hi,
You can execute this query in order to find which server you are working with right now:
    SELECT @@SERVERNAME
    * Try to add more then one server, under the
server group, that you created. Next you can execute to those servers using "right click" -> "new query"
    * If
you want to execute on all servers UNDER (not including) the "host server" which is the
Central Management Server or in other name the "servers group", then use the right click on the server name from step 1 (Central Management Server).
think on the step 1 as an host server. This is the Central Management Server. You do not execute in this server, but from this server. You can use this server in step 2 again if you want.
Here in this image i added 3 servers in the group. When I right click on the .\SQL2014 and chose "new query" then this query execute on all those servers in the group. and I got the results as one SET

  • Manage DPM servers, running DPM jobs, etc from SCOM 2012 SP1

    Hi,
    Little background about our systems.
We have a dedicated SCOM 2012.
We have 22 DPM servers, DPM 2010 and DPM 2012 (we are upgrading to 2012 SP1, we have customers that still using Windows 2003 servers) to be managed by SCOM
We have a few DPM servers that are not located on the same domain as the SCOM server (untrusted domain).
    Some problem we have
    1. When we try to manage the DPM servers from the SCOM server.
From SCOM 2012 server I can “Manage DPM server” that are located in our domain but I cannot manage DPM servers located on untrusted domains (customer’s domains). I receive the below error message
"Unable to connect to <untrusted domain DPM SERVER> ID: 948
Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer"
I guess it’s because the account that I’m using to run SCOM server located in our domain and does not have the permission to open the DPM console on the untrusted domain. So I wonder if it is possible to use “RUN AS profiles/accounts”
to solve this issue, and how?
    2. I have installed SCOM 2012 Operations Manager Console on my computer and then installed DPM Central Console.
When I select one dpm server (from my computer), that is on our domain, and then click “Manage DPM server” I got this error message
"Unable to connect to <our domain DPM SERVER> ID: 33333
    1. Verify that the DPM service is running on this computer (YES)
    2. Verify that the current user has been added to at least one of the roles in Operations Manager. (YES)
    3. Open Operations Manage console and then try launching the DPM Console (THAT IS WHAT I AM TRYING TO DO)
    4. If you have re-imported the management pack recently, the role configuration may be corrupt. Open the DPM-specific roles and check if the roles have task assigned to them. If not, delete the roles and recreate the...."
When I click on “Get more information” I get this error message.
"You don´t have access permission to connect to the System Center Data Access service on <SCOM SERVER>. Please check if it is a permission issue".....
Do you know why I cannot connect to any DPM server on our own domain?
Why do I get access permission error on my computer but not on the SCOM server (using the same account)?
What should we do to be able to connect to DPM servers that are on untrusted domain?
    3. Is it possible to see Last Recovery Point date/time in SCOM alerts?
For me it is the first thing I look at. If it has failed 10 min ago it is not critical.
But if it is a date and time more than 1 day old, then it is critical.
I hope someone can help us with this
    Br
    SvBoho

    Hi,
To manager DPM, I think we may need to add the account to local admin group of the DPM server.
In addition, to connect to DPM the user needs permissions to DPM/SQL Server DPMDB.
For your DCs, have your enabled agent proxy option? If not, please enable that option for all DCs.
To monitor DPM with SCOM, please also go through the below links:

  • Issue With Business Objects Installation-STW00213 The Central Management Server has failed to start.

    Hi,
I am in the process of installing Business Objects XI 3.1 in one of our server. While installing I am getting the error 'The Central Management Server has failed to start. Press 'retry' to attempt to start it again or 'cancel' to skip any actions dependendent on the Central Management Server. STW00213.'
I have tried re-installing the BO, and also tried installing without giving admin password. But it doesn't work. And also I ahve tried giving the passwords of database and CMS Admin without Sepcia Characters. But it also doesn't work.
If I cancel and install the BO, Server Intelligence Agent is not available in Central Management Server.
Could anyone help on this issue?
    Thanks
    Prakadesh

    Hi Prakadesh,
    Try these steps.
    1. Stop and disable the service of current SIA. You can do it from start-->run services.msc. Double click the SIA service and change the status to disable.
    2. Login into sqlplus and drop all the CMS tables.
    3. Create a new SIA pointing to Oracle from the CCM.
    4. Start the new SIA and check if all services come up and you are able to login into Manager servers.
If this does not work, check the event viewer for error messages.

Do you have any tips to solve this issue?

    hello Mauricio,
    try the following:
    from the WAE not registering:
1-Make sure you configure the default gateway on the WAE
2-on the CLI enter the following commands in the same order, not all at once give it a few seconds between line and line:
    -ip path-mtu-discovery enable
    -no cms enable
    -cms deregister force
    -cms enable
3- if still the same please open a case with TAC so they can get the sysreport from the unit.

  • Query failed jobs in a BLT?

    Hi all,
is there a chance to query failed jobs from a BLT (MII 12.0)? I know that I can use a xml query to read the job history:
    /XMII/Illuminator?service=Scheduler&Mode=History&RowCount=1000&id=1001&StartDate=06/10/2010%2000:00:00&EndDate=06/10/2010%2023:00:00
Now for monitoring reasons I would like to have a query that checks if there have been failed jobs in a time range. Adding something like "&Status=FAILED" is ignored.
    Michael

    Hello Michael,
I think we can perform this using BLS,
    1) Using XML Loader Action load the URL
    2) Use Repeator then in links use XPath Expression to Filter out Relevant messages based on the Status Field.
I believe the loader works with content-type being "text/xml"
    Hope this helps!!

  • Central Management Server - where do queries run

I want to monitor performance on a couple remote servers by running DMV's repeatedly.
Is it it possible to run queries on the CMS against remote servers, and store the results in a CMS table?
This might be obvious, but sorry I need your help in understanding... When you run a multi-server query on a CMS, where does the query actually get optimized and ran?  On the remote server, or on the CMS itself.  I.e., what CPU is
execuing the query?  Where does the query get cached?  On the remote or CMS?  My thinking is that I don't to put additional workload of the monitoring queries on the remote server.  Eventhough the impact of running DMV's is said
to be negligible, running many of them repeatedly must put some extra burden on the target server.

    Hi District,
Central management servers store a list of instances of SQL Server that is organized into one or more central management server groups. After you create a central management server, one or more server groups, and one or more registered servers,
you can execute queries against a whole group at the same time, however, Central Management Server cannot be a member of a group that it maintains. So when you run DMV statement of remote servers , it could not save the results into your Central management
servers. Meanwhile, actions that are taken by using a central management server group act on all servers in the server group. When you run multiple queries on a Central management server, the queries actually are run on all servers in the server group. If
you want store the results about remote servers in the Central management server, I recommend you using linked server or set up a SSIS package.

  • Not able to Log on to Central Management Console

    Hello All
My Application was down, so I shutdown the servers and web Servlet container(tomcat).
Then i restarted the servers and web Servlet container.
I am still not able to log into CMC.
I am getting the login page, but when I try to login it says :
"The system servername can be contacted, but there is no Central Management Server running at port 6400."
When I ran the script for server start up,I got the message
Failed to register with name server. Reason: a server of this name already exists.
Please check for name duplication and validness of the server: ConnectionServer
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

I hope you are working on a Unix server. If yes here is ur solution.
Check if under bobj/serverpids folder any listing is there. If yes then probably the BO are not stopped properly.
In that case u can kill the processes which are not stopped by using Kill -9 <pid>.
make sure that all processes that is BO services, tomcat services are stopped or the process are killed.
Once that is done restart the services and everything will be working fine.
    Gud Luck!!!

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Vinay,
As Visakh mentioned, the issue usually occurs because the package runs in 64-bit runtime, however, the Excel driver is 32-bit. According to your another thread, it seems that you use SSIS 2005, right? In SSIS 2005, there is no “use 32 bit runtime” option
for the package executions of a SSIS package job step. In this condition, you have two choices:
Install the 64-bit Microsoft ACE OLE DB 12.0 Provider on the production server. Here is the download link (AccessDatabaseEngine_x64.exe):
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-in/download/details.aspx?id=13255
Create a CmdExec type job step instead of SSIS Package job step, so that we can call 32-bit DTExec.exe to execute the package within command line. For more information, please see:

  • Server Group not working when one of Job Servers is down

I have a Server Group of two job servers. They have the same version 12.2.2.3 and are attached to the same Local Repository of version 12.2.2.0.
When I execute a batch job (from the Designer) and explicitly specify on which job server it should run, it works fine for either job server. Also, when I specify Batch Job execution on Server Group, it works fine.
However, when I shutdown one of the Job Servers, and then try to execute the job on Server Group, I'm getting two error messages, BODI-1111011 that one Job Server is down, and BODI-1111009 that another Job Server has failed.
At the same time, when I check the Server Group in the Management Console, it shows that the allegedly failed Job Server is in the status green.
That error is not reflected in a job server eveng log, nor there is anything written to webadmin log, not in the job trace (the latter isn't created at all).
Is there anything I can do at this point except raise a support message?

The issue was with different users for Local Repository in Admin and Job Server config. I discovered it when trying to run the job from Admin Console. Designer is probably not the best diagnostic tool for such kind of issues.

  • Viewing Current Users/Sessions Logged onto CMS (Central Management Server)

    Post Author: Alanimal
    CA Forum: Data Integration
    Hi Guys,
When you use the Central Management Console, click on HOME>SERVERS>CMS:(SERVERNAME) - Under the properties for the Central Management Console you can view who is actually logged into the CMS.
How can I create a query in the Query builder that can show me the same data? I am trying to create a web page that will show me only the current logged in users.
    Is this possible?
    Cheers
    Alan

OK There are a lot of errors in the Log file which relate to writing to the install path and as per below.
Property(C): WiseInitAdminError = You must have administrator rights to run this installation. Please login as an administrator and re-run this installation.
Property(C): WiseInitReboot = This system must reboot before the installation can begin. After the reboot the installation will restart automatically. Do you want to reboot this system?

I have tried installing as Local Administrator as well as a Domain aministrator
Yes the Databse has been populated with tables during the install.
We are reinstalling the OS to make sure it is WIN 2003 R2 sp2 64 Bit which is a supported platform. SQL 2005 is also SP2 64 bit
