You probably figured this out months ago, but I just had the same problem.
Here's how I fixed it:
1. Close JDeveloper.
2. Look for a preferences.xml file that contains the string "PacketMonitorPreferences".
I found it in J:\jdev10.1.3\jdev\system\oracle.j2ee.10.1.3.36.73.
3. Search for "PacketMonitorPreferences".
4. Remove the whole item that contains it. Mine looked like
   <Item>
      <Key>packet-monitor-prefs</Key>
      <Value class="oracle.jdevimpl.webservices.tcpmonitor.preferences.PacketMonitorPreferences">
         <packetMonitorOptions class="java.util.ArrayList"/>
      </Value>
   </Item>5. Save the file and re-start JDeveloper. It should be OK now.

    It looks like you're trying to start a server that's partially running already, so you will want to check what processes are running, too

    FYI
    I had the same problem the other day when a new HBA card was added and I had to follow the doc 422296.1
    BTW first post the errors from the logs may be its due to port conflict also.

    I have resolved that issue by commenting that line. Since I'm not using servlets, I hope that wouldn't create any problems !

    Please help.
    I am a fresher and need to configure SJCS5 On my system and use the sun java system calender.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Eklavya

    Hi,
    I am trying to install Sun Java Communication suite 5
    on my Fedora Core 6 box.Well this is a problem to begin with. Redhat 3 & 4 are supported. If you use Fedora Core 6 all bets are off.
    Try again with a Redhat AS/ES 3 or 4 install and if you have problems we can go from there. The instructions were written based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 4).
    Regards,
    Shane.

    Hi,
    Please check if you have disabled the autodisconnect feature of the Server service. On Windows servers it can be configured through the Autodisconnect registry key.
    \HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters\
    CIFS and SMB Timeouts in Windows
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/openspecification/archive/2013/03/19/cifs-and-smb-timeouts-in-windows.aspx
    Based on the research, as the open shared folder is in a SMB session, the default timeout for SMB session is 15 minutes. If the SMB session is inactive for 15 minutes the server will send a TCP reset to close the SMB connection. Until the
    Autodisconnect timer is reached, the server will send an NBT keep-alive packet every two minutes. If a client or server application is not written to properly handle network delays, it may terminate the session prior to the default timeout
    period.

    Hi,
    Based on the information you provided, I haven't found the accurate cause of this issue.
    Since the files in Temp folder are temporary files, in case they are related, you can just delete them.
    To troubleshoot this issue, I suggest you perform a clean boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with Outlook:
    Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search. Or, if you are using a mouse, point to the lower-right corner of the screen, and then
    click Search.
    Type msconfig in the search box, and then tap or click msconfig.
    On the Services tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click to select the Hide
    all Microsoft services check box, and then tap or click Disable all.
    On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click Open
    Task Manager.
    On the Startup tab in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then click Disable.
    Close Task Manager.
    On the Startup tab of the System Configuration dialog box, tap or click OK,
    and then restart the computer.
    To learn more details about how to troubleshoot in clean boot, we can refer to this kb below:

    It's recommended to download and install
    Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office
    programs.

  • Failed to start recording.

    Hi ,
    While using the JRockit Runtime Analyzer i am not able to start the recordning.
    I have started weblogic server with JRockit jvm and witn -Xmanagement option.
    But this when i try starting the JRockit runtime analyzer it gives me message
    "Failed to start recording..."
    If any body knows about this what is needed to configure so that i can record
    application memory map.
    thanks

    Sonali,
    If you're running the correct JRockit version (8.1 SP1) and it's still
    not working it might be because your system is under heavy load and the
    request to start recording gets a socket timeout. In this case you could
    try the alternative way to start the recording which involves starting
    JRockit with some extra parameters. See the FAQ on
    http://edocs.bea.com/wljrockit/docs81/jra/jra.html#1050831
    Best regards,
    /Helena
