Failed to start OCJ4 Server

Hi,
Im playing with my Jdev 10.1.3 Studio Edition on my Laptop (XP Home SP2/10g
and would like to RUN a test app that I have cooked up but I can't get the OCJ4 Server to start despite following the instructions in the Help to customise the settings (i.e. admin.jar path etc....)

Hi Frank,
Well Im just 'simply' working my way through a Tutorial and got to the point where I have to RUN the app. First message is 'Starting ..OC4J Server....'
and then a few sec later I get 'Failed to start embedded OC4J' server'
Note: This is on my laptop.

Apparently, there is a problem in package “*wwsso_ls_private*”. I got below error while trying to compile this package. When I was trying to compile ORASSO.WWSSO_LS_PRIVATE, I got the below errors about parameters

Cause:
The possible cause this issue is some problem that occured when
applying the latest patchset. The patchset does include updates of ODS and ORASSO schemas and their objects. If parts of objects were not updated with the new version and the old version is still in DB, errors may occur (for example when I was trying to compile ORASSO.WWSSO_LS_PRIVATE I got the errors
about parameters, which indicate version mismatch).
To fix this problem, I have re defined the problem giving package.
This package wwsso_ls_private is defined in
$ORACLE_HOME/sso/admin/plsql/sso/ssolsprv.pks
Solution:
I have fixed the problem by following the below steps.
1. Login sqlplus as orasso user of MR
2. Recreate the view wwsso_ls_configuration_info$ by issuing the below DDL statement.
SQL> CREATE OR replace VIEW wwsso_ls_configuration_info$ OF ls_config_type WITH object oid(config_name) as select * from wwsso_ls_configuration_info_t;
3. Now compile the problem giving package.
SQL> alter package wwsso_ls_private compile body;
Compilation of this package was done without any error.
4. Now all the OC4J container including OC4J_SECURITY in our Infra tier are up and running.

i was trying to install sun DS 6.3 in my system,everything is going good but while creating directory instance i get errors saying Unxpected error

actually i havent known whats the certificate database password,as i'm new to DS 6.3,its hard for me,
and i installed tomcat 5.0.28,and jva,jre 1,6 ,and i get the when i setup installation it goes fine when i ask for dsccsetup initialize it asks for the token
A PIN IS REQUIRED TO ACCESS, i tried the same in other system with tomcat 5.5 with same OS XP it goes fine with no errors,i'm not sure that it may be caused by tomcat version,but still will be happy for your suggestion,

If you need Linux for any Laptop or Desktop PC, choose a Desktop Linux distribution, like Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, etc.
Your best option to run Enterprise Linux on non supported hardware is to use hardware virtualization like free Oracle Virtualbox. IMO, there is no compelling reason to try to install Enterprise Linux using dual boot or relying on 3rd party driver software.

Failed to start HTTP server while installing companion CD

Hi all,
I am installing apex 3.1.2 (though it is old version, clients are still using it :) ), on the oracle 10.2.1 database. I am installing HTTP servers from the companion CD and getting error while starting HTTP server from the configuration assistant. I am getting following error.

Failed to start Admin Server for Weblogic Server Domain

I Created a domain named mydomain in weblogic server 10.3 in server 2003.But when i start Admin Server for Weblogic Server Domain from startmenu, it failed.

Therefore an IOException occurred when opening the wallet and WLS was unable to initialize the OPSS successfully.
To resolve the issue re-create the directory specified by the java.io.tmp dir parameter, and make sure the owner and group access are the same as for the FMW installation.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7.0 failing during starting managed server : bi_server1

      I am trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1 un a Linux box, but during the Configuration Progress, OBIEE got error at Start Managed server; bi_server1.

I had similar issue in windows 7 [64 bit].
It is found that the nodemanger windows service was not present and I had to create it by executing installNodeMgrSvc.cmd present in wls server location say, 'C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin' in my case and then come to bi wls console and 'Resume' the bi_server1 managed server. You would see progress in the installer once the managed server bi_server1 is 'Running' state.

Web JetAdmin 10.2 (SR5) Fails to start on server 2003 and 2008

Web JetAdmin 10.2 Fails to start : console not running - "Waiting for service start"
Please help to troubleshoot the problem

The OLD SQL DB has "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"
The NEW SQL DB has "Latin1_General_CI_AS"
The following error is shown in HPWJAService-XXXXXXXXXX.itl under DEVICE:\Documents and Settings\NetworkService\Local Settings\Application Data\Hewlett-Packard\HPWebJetadmin\WjaService\tracing
* Database initialization failed: Error 468, Level 16, State 9, Procedure -, Line 15, Message: Cannot resolve the collation conflict between "Latin1_General_CI_AS" and "SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS" in the equal to operation.
and
* Unable to determine managed schema version: Schema version information not found.
I think this is the problem...

Failed to start managed server in weblogic server 9.2.1

Before I'm using WebLogic 9.2.0 and the managed server can startup without any issue. Now, my environment is upgraded to WebLogic 9.2.1 and I'm experiencing a couple of problems. The major problem is that I cannot start my managed server anymore even if the node manager and admin servers are running. Error logged are as follows:

I experienced similar (identical?) problem after upgrading WLS 9.2 with MP2.
In my case simple setting the following fields from the tab 'Server Start': Java Home and Classpath resolved problem.

Anonymous user login - failed to start EP server

Hi all,
I changed UME properties to allow anonymous access on EP.
1. Created a user "anonymous" on ABAP system ( i m using ABAP system for users no ldap)
2. On ep.. System admin ->system configuration -> UM configuration -> Direct editing
3. Changed ume.login.guest_user.uniqueids to "anonymous"
4. ume.login.anonymous_user.mode = 1. This property was already 1.. so kept it as it is
5. Save all changes and restarted the Server using MMC control. Ep dint start

I have reseted all the changes i have done, but still its not starting. I used configtool to reset the changes.
please help me on this as its critical now.. we are in testing phase..

Fails to start HTTP server

Hi ,
I am unable to bring the OMS up and after verifying i found "apachectl" file is missing.Because of this HTTP server is down.
Apache logs:

get the apachectl from another oms home and place it to this home. Open the apachectl and change to OH to relevent OH
