I have problem with decimal numbers in farsi web pages when use firefox but in IE it shows correctly.for example the unit 1/5 in farsi pages show 5/1 and I guess it is very important error.I search in web and find that when we change the number of bidi.numerical from 0 to 1 it will be solve,Idid it but it can not solved problem.so please help me how to solve this problem especially me that my search in web is very depended to statistcs and numerical pages.Thank you

Error while assigning a character value to a numeric variable.

I fire a sql statement and check the number of rows returned by the sql.
I check this result with the application logs.
The application logs keeps the sqls fired by the application and the no of rows returned, in the example below the sql returned 8454 rows.
My script compares the two results.

The problem is as resB is integer variable it does not accept character value: 8,454 so returns a syntax error:

Or you could to it all in awk(1):

(This example was not tested, it's just for a model.)
Someone more of an SQL guru than I can probably tell you how to change your numeric locale to avoid presenting those commas in the first place and avoid the problem.

Brand New MacB Air and i haven't been able to get passed the format which has had to be done twice because, I have a French Numeric Keyboard and Language in English. The minute I type in my password, the keyboard gives me letters that i did NOT type.

I live in Switzerland and can only buy a Mac Air with a French or German keyboard, no chance to buy an English keyboard Mac here,. When setting up I chose the French numerique keyboard, although there are two choices French or French numerique. I put in my language as English. When all was set up I came to the start page and had to put in my password, by the grace of g....I just happened to see the first letter I typed before it turned into a dot. My password which was supposed to start with the number 2 showed a french e with accent before it quikly became a dot.
Because of the dot system, this meant that I had no clue what the keyboard was typing as my password ...........and true enough my password was not accepted despite my trying all combinations. I have had to reformat twice now thanks to Apple Chat and both times my password was not accepted. I am in the process of formatting it again, this time on my own. If the Start page does not accept my password again this can only mean that the Mac left the factory with faults. I could not be more disappointed with the money spent and the time and trouble that Apple Chat and I have spent in trying to correct a brand new out of the box Mac. I have a cheap Toshiba laptop also with a french keyboard and english language which gave me no trouble at all. I am not impressed with the so called King of computers! First of all the dot system is daft. People want to be able to see and confirm their passwords before they are set for good. Second, this problem is going to give me a lot of grief. Switzerland business is not renowned for its after sales service or the time it takes to do repairs. When I had an issue with my Vaio laptop which was still under warranty, they kindly picked it up from my house, repaired and promptly returned it. How's that for good proper service.

i didn't read a lot of your 2nd paragraph, but it seems like the password is the issue, right?
do a true clean install
reboot your machine and hold down command+option+r, you should see a spinning globe - if you don't see the globe or anything that reads internet recovery, shut down and try again
at menu, chose disk utility and once there, find your HD on the left side, select the physical name and erase it as mac journaled
exit disk utlity
at menu, choose install OSX
this time, when it asks for a password just hit continue, it will let you complete without a password
you should be able to get into your laptop, now figure out what password you'll be able to use with your kb issue

Our client is going for alpha numeric GL accounts. FS00 will allow creating alpha numeric GL accounts. But i wanted to what may be problem in future?
I want to know will any account determination settings like OBYC (FI - MM Settings), VKOA (FI - SD settings), AO90 - Asset accounting GL determination or any other FI process will give problem at the time of configurations or in future?.
Please help me on this. What can be the points on the basis of which i can tell client that they should go for NUMERIC GL accounts only and not Alpha Numeric.

Can a .pdf created with Livecycle allow a user to enter a % symbol in a numeric or decimal field?

What I've found so far is that the only way to get the % symbol into a numeric/decimal field at all is to set the "display pattern" to display the % symbol after numbers have been entered into the field.
The reason I want the field to be numeric and not text is because I have to run a FormCalc caculation that populates a third field.
(NumericField1 * Numeric Field2*) + NumericField1

I ended up chanigng the numeric field to a decimal field instead, and added the following display pattern: num{zzzz9.99'%'}
So although the user can't enter a % symbol into the field, a % symbol automaticaly populates when the user enters a number.
My criteria involved ensuring that a user could not enter a number with more than two numbers after the decimal, so I also set a trailing digits max of 2 (in the Obect > Field settings)
This is the FormCalc formula I used in the "calculate" event to calculate the salary increase amount request: (DecimalField1 * NumericField2) *.01 + NumericField2
This formula is meant to calculate the salary amount a manager is requesting their employee's salary be increased to.

'Variable Substitution' error - Expected numeric element index

I'm using the 'variable substitution' property in XI to replace the filename of the output file to a value in the message payload.
Here are the parameters I provided:
File Name Scheme: %filename%.xml
Variable Name: filename
Reference: payload:ORDERS05,1,recordset,1,IDOC,1,E1EDK02,BELNR,1
I'm getting this error in the adapter engine:
Caught exception while initializing variable substitution engine: Cannot parse pseudo-path for variable substitution: 'filename': Expected numeric element index, got 'BELNR': For input string: "BELNR"
Can anyone tell me what this means, and how I can fix this problem?

Numeric data is not displayed in BI Publisher 11g report

Hi,
I'm using Oracle BI 11g (11.1.1.6.0).
I'm experiencing a serious issue with numeric data in reports created with Publisher.
When I define the query in the data model, numeric data gets declared as "integer" (even if it should be "double"). Anyway, when creating the layout all data is correctly shown.
The issue emerges when I run the report in interactive mode: numeric data is not displayed at all.
If I run it in HTML mode or other, I get proper results.
I tried to explicitly CAST numeric data in the query to number(21, 6) but I get no different result.
Any help or suggestion is warmly welcome.

I have a numeric field that I would like to have 1 - checkbox
out of five autofilled based on a numeric value.
For instance the numeric value is TotalPoints
If the TotalPoints Value is >10 autofill this checkbox

If the TotalPoints Value is 20 - 49 autofill this checkbox
If the TotalPoints Value is 50 - 69 autofill this checkbox

interesting that my gmail account does work perfectly.

this may or may not help - but give it a try. On a forum some were reporting that talk21 is now under the yahoo umbrella. below are the steps this use listed. (This was an android forum, but the email settings should be the same. In short it looks like their server names have changed. An existing account may have simply been forwarded - but if you are reinstalling, it may want a clean install to the right servers.) Pay particular attention to the server names and port settings. (this thread was started based on a discussion of Imap vs pop - you are already an Imap person - so ignore that part)

why settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3. The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3. This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi.
This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP.
Incoming server settings
IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 143
Security type - none
Outgoing Server settings
SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 25
Security type - none Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
and enter your talk21 username and password The End...works a treat for me p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. Using the following...

All number member variables, like myvar1 start off with andefault initial value which is zero. For booleans this is false. Object reference variables, like myclass1, have a null value.
All local numeric variables are considered undefined. So mylocal1 and myclass2 are undefined. Before you can use them you must explicitly provide a value.
Finally note that myvar2 will have two values during class instantiation. Initially it will have a value of zero. Sometime later it will have the value of 3. (When that happens is very definitely outside the scope of what this forum covers. If you want to know then ask in the advanced forum.)

Index as varchar or numeric

I'm using a field that contains only digits (0..9) and will use this field as a primary key. Does it make any difference if the field is a varchar or a numeric? I do not plan on performing any mathematical operations on the field's value, so it would be easier to store & retrieve as a varchar. But is it quicker to assess a row based on a primary key which is numeric or varchar?

You would, potentially, have to call TO_CHAR on the number when you wrote it out, but I would tend to just rely on implicit conversion there. Depending on how you are reading the XML response, you can probably get a numeric value back without doing any conversion.
I would have two primary functional considerations here
1) Is this a key that any human will ever use? If you are generating an invoice number, for example, someone may want to look up that invoice using the invoice number even though invoice number doesn't have any business meaning. Do the users think of this string in numeric terms? Or as a string? For example, do the users see value 1 as the same as 000001? Or would they prefer to always enter the "right" number of characters.
2) Data integrity- if non-numeric characters would be incorrect, the field should be a number. Otherwise, someone will end up writing alphabetical characters to the field.
Both of these would tend toward using NUMBER columns, unless users were really attached to the idea that it isn't invoice #1, it is invoice "000000001".
As secondary factors, numbers are more compact than strings, so performance is likely to be marginally better with numers rather than strings. By the same token, the table and index(es) are likely to cnosume less disk space when you use numbers. Performance here, though, should be a secondary consideration to functionality.
