FB4 AIR app: profiler internal error

Hi, we have a relatively large AIR app under FB4 and we're trying to track down a memory leak using the flex profiler. We have the profiler performance profiling turned OFF and memory profiling ON. Problem is, with stack tracing turned OFF, there's very little useful information in the profiler output, and with it turned ON, the profiler crashes. The crash happens when trying to open an object instance. It crunches away for about 10 minutes, then stops with the "Java heap space" error seen in the screen capture below. System is a MacBook Pro with quad core i7 @ 2.8 GHz with 8 GB RAM. Crash happens on both WinXP under VMware, and on the Mac side. Any ideas on how to get the flex profiler to work? Thanks.

I am unable to install the LCCS "SDK Navigator Application" from the LCCS Developer portal. When I try to run the AIR installer, I get the following error message:

I did try to install LCCS Navigator AIR app on the version of AIR runtime you specified, and did not hit any issues.
Can you give us more details such as OS version, are you updating or installing the app. Also can you try a clean install too.

HELP! - Can't update Adobe Air Apps - Application Install Error

I have several Adobe Air Apps on my Mac OSX (10.9.4) MackBook Pro. They won't update due to the following Install Error.
"The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem. The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid. Please contact the application author."
Following the above instructions, I've been contacting the authors of my Adobe Air Apps and they are telling me that it is not their problem. The Apps should simply update without difficulty.
I searched the "Google" and found no fix other than uninstall and reinstall Adobe Air. Did this and the problem persists.
If you can help me get beyond this issue and back to productivity, I'd be very appreciative.

I had a similar problem when trying to install Zinio.air. I have made it all work out. What i did was remove Adobe Air 15 entirely from the Utiliites and Library/ accounts and preferences. I then downloaded Adobe Air 13 and installed and then clicked on Zinio .air and it all installed ok. I also had to temporarily change security settings from Apple approved to Anywhere. All functioning now.

What causes an AIR app crash (non-error type)

Pretty general question, but I'm curious as to what I should be looking for if...
- I randomly get the Test Movie Terminated message when compiling or running a desktop AIR app from Flash Pro IDE
- the installed AIR app crashes/terminates randomly from no apparent reason?

Does that mean when I'm coding, I should be making sure that functions etc are complete before the frame finishes? ie if my project is 12 fps, a function should never take longer than 83ms to complete?
no, (and going over budget wouldn't crash flash). going over budget means flash is not able to maintain the targeted frame rate. go over budget enough and you'll see your display stutter instead of maintain smooth animation. that's not relevant to a data app and not relevant to a crash problem.
you want to check the memory use and see if it is relentlessly increasing as you use your app. in particular, what's scout tell you when your app crashes.
My project isn't frame really specific - ie there's no animation or frame reliant graphics in particular. It's a data based app.
Does it just mean that my display will slow down if I'm jamming more processing in that a frame can handle, and should I be worried about it if my display isn't particularly important?

Air App for Android - error 301: application descriptor missing

Greetings!
I've been building in Flash for a while but am brand new to mobile development. I'm currently trying to create my first Android app, a very basic game called "302 Saves The Galaxy". I don't intend to sell the game. I'm really just trying to learn my way through the publication process for future projects.
I've been able to get to the very last step in creating the apk file and I'm getting this error from the command-line process -
"Error 301: Application descriptor missing/cannot be opened"

Here are a few other details about my process -
In Flash, I selected to publish to Air 2.0 because that's the only option I had (ie, no Air 2.5 option)
I've triple-checked and all spellings seem to be correct in my command-line syntax
I'm sure I'm missing something obvoius here. Any suggestions?

Can't debug AIR app. No error, app just won't come up

Hi, my problem is described in title: when I try to debug AIR application it, flex says "[SWF] MyAppName.swf xxxxxxxx bytes after decompression", no errors are shown but the application won't come up. Where's the problem? Thanks

Well, when I set <visible> tag to true in -app.xml file it returns me this error:

A colleague with the same setup has no problems. Also when i create a new air project in flashbuilder it will not start either, but not throwing the error.
Anyone with the same problems? Or anyone who knows what might be the cause?

Found the solution. We had to add swf-version=11 in our flex config. Odd that we should have to start doing that now all of a sudden (we weren't setting that explicitly before). Seems like a bug in the SDK.

Air apps all throw errors in iOS simulator with Flash Feb Update

None of my app run correctly on the February update for Flash CC. I get type 1009 errors on new and existing apps.
Anyone else have this problem?

ERROR ITMS-9000 for AIR app

I am getting this error when compiling an IPA with Flash CC 2014, AIR version 15.0:
"ERROR ITMS-9000: "This bundle is invalid. The value for key CFBundleShortVersionString [1.0] in the Info.plist file must contain a higher version than that of the previously approved version [1.5]."
Funny; this is an upgrade to an existing app. The current version on the app store is 1.1. The version I am submitting to Apple is 2.0. So, I really can't understand what this error is about.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

for install on devices, you need to use a distribution cert. and a distribution provisioning profile for adhoc. When ready for AppStore you can use same distribution cert. but distribution provision profile for appstore. i completely use Windows PC for my entire process and use testflight to distribute to my testers. I'm not sure how the process is for simulator on the Mac is. I just the use mac to create my certs and profiles and then application loader.
When you tried upload to testflight did u use a distribution cert (p12) and an adhoc distibution provisioning profile. Also are the devices you are sending to are also registered to that profile.
Also ive been doing this for 3 years now but consider myself a newbie still cuz I'm self taught and still learning and my ways of doing things in an unorthodox way but on average I have about 10 uploads of updates or new apps to the AppStore a year and haven't had an app rejected. These forms will be your best resource of info with users like @colin.

AIR 15.0 for OSX - ADT: Packaging failed. Packager internal error

Packaging a SWF to AIR with captive runtime and native installer (using "-package bundle"), building on PC worked perfectly fine. After making all of the requisite changes to make it work for Mac, I'm now running into the "Packaging failed. Packager internal error" when building using adt through the command line. My .command script is as follows:
cd [directory]
adt -package -storetype pkcs12 -keystore ../cert/key.p12 -storepass pw -target bundle Bundle ../App.xml App.swf -extdir ../lib icons/16.png icons/32.png icons/128.png
What can cause this vague "Packger interal error" error? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I have same problem with apple Developer Id Application certificate (downloaded from apple), got past the chain error message by including intermediate and root certificates when I exported from keychain, but got the package error referenced here. Also when I sign on windows machine with my code signing certificate (selecting windows installer) all publishes ok, but the certificate is not attached, says 'unknown developer' when I down load and try and run installer on windows machine. I sent the exe to Comodo (the guys I got the code signing certificate from) and they say the exe is not signed.
Finally I get 'The digital certificate is invalid' error when I try and use 'Developer Id Installer' certificate (downloaded from apple).
I think there must be several problems here with Air SDK.
Stopping me from publishing and I have a very upset Customer. Can someone from Adobe please advise asap.

Airror when converting to Air app in FB4

I create my fxp file in catalyst and then I import the file into FB4. Everything works fine until I click on "Add/Change property type" and convert it to and air applications. Suddenly I get no UI. I have changed the <s:Application></s:Application> to <s:WindowedApplication></s:WindowedApplication> but still all I get is a blank flash window. Any Ideas?

I found that this error is logged as a bug with the development team. My work around was to create a new air app then export my assets from the first app and import them into my new air app. I then copied the "main".mxml text and pasted into my new air app making the designated change from s:Application to s:WindowedApplication and it worked. phew.

App developed using Jdev 3.2 and oracle 9.2: oracle internal error

I have developed a JSP application using Jdeveloper 3.2.3.
Everything works fine under Oracle 8.x.
One of our customers, a few days ago, decided to migrate to oracle 9.2, but he can't use our application anymore, because every time a javabean accesses the database, Oracle returns:
ORA-00600: internal error code, arguments: [ttcgcshnd-1], [0], [], [], [], [], [], []
What I should do, in order to let my customer use my JSP application under any ctual version of Oracle?
1) Have I to install a newer version of Jdeveloper and simply recompile my application?
2) Have I to download a special package to deliver to the customer using Oracle 9.2?
3) Anything else?

Check your JDBC driver version.
You will get this ORA-600:[ttcgcshnd-1] error if you have the JDBC driver 8.1.7.1 or earlier, and you try to connect to an Oracle 9.0.1 or later database.
So, your app will work when connected to an Oracle8i database, but fail when trying to Oracle9i.
The solution is to upgrade to the patched 8.1.7.2 JDBC driver, or better yet, use the latest JDBC driver that comes with JDeveloper 9.0.3 (which is JDBC 9.0.1 version).

My ipod won't sync and it keeps coming up with an error message saying "internal error" or it tries to get me to restore from a backup. All of my music and movies have been wiped from my ipod and the apps don't work. The backups don't work either. help.

I plugged my ipod touch into my computer to sync it and it came up with an error message saying that it encoutered an internal error and it refused to sync.
I then unplugged it and plugged it back in and this time it told me that I needed to restore from a backup or set it up as a new ipod. I tried to restore from a backup but it came up with the error message "Backup session failed" every time. I then looked on my ipod and all of my music and movies are gone though it still says that they are on the ipod in itunes. I decided to use the restore function and let that finish. After restoring it still doesn't allow me to sync or back up and The music and movies can still not be seen. I am currently attempting to copy the music and movies to my ipod though this did not work with my apps as they transfered but when I attempted to open them they just crash... If someone could please help me it would be great. It is driving me crazy.

If you get an error that says can't backup, try moving the existing backup file to a safe location and thry again. again. You can find the location of the backup file here:

Fixed the problem by going to settings/store and logging out with apple ID. Then logged back in with password and updates, apps, and iTunes store seem to work ok now.
