FDM Import: create 4 fields from single chartfield in source file

Hi Experts ,
In my requirement, i have single member in Source file which i have to split into 4 filds (Target dimension)
ex "1234 44 55555 456" , this string should be "1234" "44" "55555" "456" to represent 4 dimension members in Essbase.
I tried puttig following FDM code in a import script through import format for one of the target field but after i import that column is showing "required field missing" error. Any suggestion please ?

I am new to FDM and VB so realised it later that actually , Script name is the VB Functiona name and thats where Value should be returned.
If my scrip tname is Entity
Entity = Mid( strField,9,5)

Yes you can definitely do it. If I understand your problem properly, You want to save some of the entries made in an inputfield to a file?? Am I right?
If yes, then you would have bound the input field to a context value attribute. You can read the value in the context value attribute and then using the java io APIs you can write it to the file..

but I dont want to save the string in a file before creating a BP from it

How to empty XE database and re-create tables/fields from scratch?

Hi,
I've installed XE database to port my VB6/Access application to it, and I know that XE is limited to one single database, so far so good. But I want to erase everything from inside this default database to create my own tables/fields from scratch. How can I do that?
I just want to have one single database file with some tables/fields inside it, and nothing else. The rest will be done through VB straight.
And what is the name of the default XE database file? Where is it stored? If I make a backup of this file, can I restore it after a crash in the future by overwriting the corrupted file? Is that this simple as Access is?

If you want to erase everything, one solution is to uninstall Oracle XE and just to reinstall it.

If your application is owned by a single Oracle user account, you can also run (where <schema> is the Oracle user account name):
drop user <schema> cascade;To reinstall your application you would need to recreate the user account <schema> with the right privileges (CREATE USER ... and GRANT ...).

But when i am creating tree, its showing root node for each row in the table. but my requirement is: The Row marked as ROOTIND='Y' , show that row only as Root (Example in above tree:Parent01 & Parent02 )

Create Height field from 3D point cloud

Hello,
There is a VI called: Create Height Field.vi to craete surface to 3D picture control.
"Converts a 2D array of values to a 3D height field and applies the height field to a 3D object that appears in a 3D scene."
This should be perfect for me ( this function interpolates the whole surface) but, I have 3D [x,y,z] point cloud, where the coordinates are not equally spaced. As I understad this VI can display point cloud with equidistant coordinates. How can I use this tool to display my data?
I have tried the Create Mesh.vi to display my point cloud, but I really need the interpolated surface also. Could you give me some guide points where and how to do now?

If yes, I searched for some examples that use the Create Height Field VI.
I only found one example code on Community: https://decibel.ni.com/content/docs/DOC-4765
If your data points are not sampled on the same rate, you could use interpolation, to reach the same length.
I guess the easiest way is to use the Mathscript node for this, like in this eaxmple: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361F-01/lvtextmath/msfunc_interpolate/

How is it possible to create a blu-ray disc, AVCHD recordable DVD with multiple source files from Final Cut Pro 10. Is it possible to create a menu with several chapters corresponding to the sequences (source files)?

Assume you're talking about using the Create Blu-Ray batch template. It's not possible to do with multiple source filles. But if I understand your objectives, you could pretty much get what you think want – discrete movie segments on a single disk with navigation.
The way I'd approach it is by making multiple projects in FCP and then copying the finished versions into a new project, separated by gaps. (You could also use compound clips but I'm not a fan except for very short sequences, which is why I'm suggesting the copy route.) Then export and bring into Compressor.
In Compressor mark your chapters at the gaps between your individual sequences. Then choose the AVCHD option in job actions.
Bear in mind that you'll have to keep the recording time under roughly 30-35 minutes @a5 Mbts/sec

right now i have the swf-file as the source file for a frame,
because i want the swf-width depend on the browser-size.
it looks kinda like this:
<frameset cols="10,*,10">
<frame src="border.htm" name="leftFrame">
<frame src="file.swf" name="mainFrame">
<frame src="border.htm" name="rightFrame">
</frameset>
from the swf i call a javascript-code that is located in the
'border.htm'
file.
the javascript simply opens a popup window.

Multiple report fields from single physical column.

I have a physical table like below. Multiple records for a single customer id. The no of Address_type may increase in future.
Customer_id     Address_Type         Address
101                  Primary                   abcdefgh
101                  Secondary               234oij3mb4
101                  Billing                      mdmnweoij4
102................etc.
My Requirement on OBIEE is to display report as below.
Customer_ID, Primary_Address, Secondary_Address, Billing_Address.
101                 abcdefgh            234oij3mb4               mdmnweoij4
Multiple report fields ( Primary_Address, Secondary_Address, Billing_Address ) are derived from same physical column ADDRESS.
I tried to duplicate the Address column on the report thrice and added conditions like Address_Type = Primary/Secondary/Billing for those three fields respectively.
But only of the field is getting correct data and rest of duplicate columns are null.
Tried FILTER function on OBI Answers, but the function fails saying it should be used only on measures.
Thought the alternative would be to define multiple logical columns at BMM layer. Created multiple alias for same table at physical layer and correspondingly created LTS for each on a single logical table. Defined Fragmentation/Where conditions.
LTS1 - Address_Type = PRIMARY
LTS2 - Address_Type - SECONDARY
LTS3 - Address_Type - BILLING
Created multiple logical columns from each LTS like Primary_Address, Secondary_Address, Billing_Address from LTS1, LTS2, LTS3 respectively.
This time, am getting data for all the fields on the report but getting cartesian result.
Can someone guide me whether my approach is correct or any other alternate best approach to achieve the desired result.
Note: I have the data Address on multiple physical rows for a customer, rather Not in a single row. which is causing me problem.

Does the Pivot table option for above mentioned Address fields affect other columns?
If Yes, Can there be any other alternative? Am thinking of Opaque View at Physical layer to bring all Addresses on a single row.

Ahmed,
if you dont want to edit any mapping, then you can populate the data into some un-used column in the ETL and change the name of the column in RPD.
Though this is not a good approach, but you can try this.

How can I import Related name fields from contacts?

In this screen shot, column labels jump from J to S (also jump from C to J). Click in the table to get Column labels to show.

Hmm, I suppose there is some way of loading the attachment into a SOFM object but I don't know it.
If it was a Decision step you could forward it to yourself (temporarily) and add an attachment. Is there a Decision step further downstream in that workflow?

And I'm an Acrobat Pro beginner. :-(
The files to be included are in pdf, MS Word and MS Excel.
What is the best way to do this?
I don't know if I use Portfolio which I tried but then each file apparently needs to be Extracted to be viewed. Not what I want. I want series of files separated by a heading.
Maybe I need to convert all files first to pdf and then combine in one pdf file but maybe there is a simpler way.

Creating Master Data from a transactional text source

hi experts, my internal bw expert is still out and I need help again.
We have a table in bw whose values we are going to push into a DSO so that we can create some reporting on it. However, some of the characteristics on this table exist only as text (for example, end_user). In order to make the reporting meaningful I need to
1) Put the unique values into an infoobject.
2) Create a routine that when I load the transactional values from the table to perform an abap lookup on the master data to find the right "key" value.
Can anyone point me to a guide that can help me out with these tasks?

I will first note that best practices are to not put descriptions into DSO's.   That said, this is how you can do it.
Things to change... you'll want to go against the Text table instead of the attribute table which can be found on the Master Data tab of the InfoObject. Obviously change the name of the fields and variables....
