[Feature request] JClient Panel wizard

Subject: [Feature request] JClient Panel wizard
Wouldn't it be a good idea if it were possible to specify (in the JClient Panel/Form Wizard) which attributes of a ViewObject should have some form of LOV attached to them? (e.g. a popup LOV window or a pulldown list)
I know that afterwards I can replace some of the generated textfields with comboboxes and add buttons which popup LOV windows.. but I still feel that the wizard should be able to generate these things itself, as this functionality is clearly very common.
This should also ease the customization of a multi-record detail panel (when it uses a table). AFAIK, setting a combobox as a celleditor for a tablecolumn can only be done through explicit coding and not in the UI editor.
It would also be nice to be able to specify that certain attributes should be interpreted as some sort of boolean attributes (most obviously: 1 = true and 0 = false with a NUMBER type). This can be done in the ViewObject attribute properties dialog (it's fairly similar to setting a model on a checkbox). This way, you should be able to specify in the JClient Panel wizard that 'boolean attributes' should have a checkbox/two radio buttons/a pulldown list associated with them.
In short, I see lots of possibilities to enhance the JClient Panel Wizard.
Any comments on this one? :)

Arno - thanks for your comments - its always good see that people are pushing the boundaries.
The good thing is your suggestions are something we are currently discussing (infact last night!!) as something we would like to see in a later release of the products.
For example BUG:1622093 Specialised editor for Grid Control (JTable) this would make it easier to allow you to define (e.g. that cell should have a combo box as the editor).
We are also tracking BUG:1643727 where you would be able to define a Control in the Control Hints on BC4J and so when you generate the UI it will use this hint for creating the control.
Of course, part of our discussion is to prioritise WHEN we will be able to do this and while we can't promise this in the next release I do see the importance and agree this would give us a really productive development experience.
Do you think these 2 bugs cover your requirements???
Thanks

  • FEATURE REQUESTS: Border Panel and Transparency slider for bg color

    Some points:
    1) "Color" by itself is a dubious panel name. Color of what? Please use the existing CSS property names wherever possible, and separate out background color and border color.
    2) Transparency sliders need to be enabled for all color pickers everywhere in the UI. RGBA everywhere, always. No hex colors, ever, please. There's just no reason anymore.
    2) Border sides need to be separately tweenable in the UI. I've posted about this before. Here's a bit more detail:  Use a 1-to-4 toggle button at the top of the Borders Panel to go back and forth between a simplified and a four-separate-borders interface. Something similar to what you've done in the Corners Panel. I've mocked up the panel UI below.
    4) Hire me as junior interface designer on this program.

    @Sarah:
You're right about selecting opacity in the color picker. That's probably cleaner. But it doesn't bother me in the slightest that a border with an alpha is rendered over the background-color. That's CSS. (Just use a bg color of "none" if that's what you need.)
    In response:
    1) Please don't use CSS "outline" for any heavy lifting in Edge. The interoperability problems are currently massive. For one thing, Firefox draws outlines outside of any box-shadow, contrary to the spec. This bug has festered for three years now, and shows no sign of ever being fixed:
    https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=480888
The other big limitation is that outline edges are always square, and can't be rounded. To create what you're calling an "external" border just use a box shadow with no blur. This is a standard practice, and renders well. Whatever you do, please don't make a panel called "borders" that actually creates box-shadows. The answer is education and evangelism, not mislabelling things.
    2) Borders don't change the external dimensions of an element if you use border-box globally. Positioning doesn't get the least bit "out of whack." There shouldn't be any trepidation there. This is probably how Edge should work across the board, for all elements, especially if the math of box-sizing is getting you and your engineering team down For folks who aren't hip to this yet, see this fiddle:
    http://jsfiddle.net/tUVM7/
and this explanation of the property:
    http://paulirish.com/2012/box-sizing-border-box-ftw/
Borders and Box-shadow panels need to be in the "frontlog", not the backlog.

  • Feature request: remember selected attribute in wizard

    Hi,
I often find myself doing this:
    - In the entity object wizard, select the 'attributes' tab
    - Click on an attribute
    - Select the 'Attribute settings' tab
First feature request: It would be nice if the attribute settings tab would now show the properties of the attribute I last selected on the other tab, instead of the first attribute.
Second feature request: It would be nice if you could open the attribute settings of an attribute directly from the attributes tab. (perhaps via a right-click -> properties contextmenu).
    Greetings,
    Ivo

Filed bug#2564815 to track request number 1.
If we implement that, then I don't think you'll also need request #2. It will be just one click away
    by changing the panel.

  • Feature Request:  Standard Keyboard Navigation in Media Browser and Project Panel

It's been a while since I've had time to submit a feature request.  I've wanted to see this one for a while.  If you agree, please submit your own feature request here: http://www.adobe.com/go/wish/
System Navigational Keyboard Shortcuts in Media Browser and Project Panel
Windows (and I'm sure Mac) has a standard set of keyboard and mouse navigational shortcuts for keyboard and mouse.  I'm so used to using them in daily browsing (both in Windows Explorer and in any web browser) that missing them in the PPr Media Browser, or getting a different result in the Project Panel, is still very jarring and slows my workflow (even after having used Premiere Pro [again] since version CS4).
I propose that the Media Browser and Project Panel should honor the OS defaults for keyboard and mouse folder/file navigation.  A few of the standard (Windows) keyboard and mouse navigational shortcuts are listed below (listed in order of most helpful to my own work):
    Moust Back Button = "BACK"
ALT + LEFT ARROW = "BACK"
UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT = steps through the various folders within the view.
UP, DOWN walks through the directory tree while RIGHT expands the currently selected folder and LEFT contracts that directory (twirl down, etc).
    ENTER opens a folder.
ALT + UP = "Folder Above"
ALT + RIGHT ARROW = "FORWARD"
    F2 Renames a folder
ENTER "takes" that name to the clip. (current functionality used ENTER to rename a file/folder).
    ESC cancels the renaming operation.
Pressing Enter on any piece of Media or Title, etc should take an "expected" action acording to it's context.  (i.e. ENTER on a video clip would load it inot the Source Monitor.  ENTER on a Title would open it in the Title Editor.  ENTER on a folder would take us into that folder).
These functions exist in both Windows Explorer as well as most modern Web browsers.  When browsing files and Project folders, it's what I've come to expect.  It's muscle memory, if not intuitive.  I realize that many of these keyboard commands are already in use in other windows/panels of the application, therefore, these commands should be Panel-specific (i.e. ALT+LEFT works differently in the Media Browser and Project Panel than it does on the Timeline/Sequence).  And as always, when making such changes (i.e. changing the behavior of ENTER to F2), this set of keys should be highly configurable based on preference:
    Preference:
checkbox:  Use OS-specific navigational keyboard and mouse commands in Media Browser and Project Panel
checkbox:  Use the (very few) "classic" Adobe keyboard commands in the Media Browser and Project Panel
The most common habit I find myself doing in the Media Browser is clicking the BACK button on my mouse—only to realize, yet again, it doesn't work that way in PPr.
The most common habit I find myself doing in the Project Panel is pressing F2 to rename a folder/bin.  Of course that doesn't work.  And when I've renamed it, I press ENTER to save the name, but that only moves me to the next folder ready to rename it, too.  I also find, out of habit, I try to navigate the bins using the arrow keys and then open the bin/folder using ENTER.  Instead, my bin is asking for a new name and I hit ESC to avoid renaming it—now THERE's a shortcut that works the way it should.
I realize this feature may be controversial to some, since it's not the way we're used to doing things in PPr.  However, I'm sure there are just as many out there, like me, who are confounded as to why PPr has never worked with the "conventional" navigation shortcuts found throughout the rest of the operating system, be it Windows or Mac.

    Nice ideas Jeff.

  • Premiere Pro CC Feature Request: Shortcut for 'Close Other Timeline Panels'

I'm about to post a feature request, but wanted to see if anyone else is interested in this request too. Adobe told me that getting support on the forum first is a good way to push the request through.
    Here's the very simple FR:
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
Keyboard Shortcut for 'Close Other Timeline Panels'
How would you like the feature to work?
It was a great touch to add this contextual menu item to Premiere Pro CC, but it's a little clunky without being able to assign a keyboard shortcut to it.
It's usage would simply close every other Timeline Panel except the active one upon pressing the shortcut.
The default could be something not currently in use like Ctrl+Cmd+W (since CMD+W closes the active panel), but customisable in the Keyboard Shortcuts panel.
Why is this feature important to you?
This is something I have to do very frequently while editing, and since I (and many others) edit largely with the keyboard, a shortcut would be very useful and speed up workflow just a tiny bit.
Anyone else interested in this (admittedly fairly boring) feature request, let me know!
    Thanks!

Thanks for the support and video Kevin!
cscooper2013: I totally agree with you, I can't see any reason why any action should be exluded from having a shortcut. I've submitted this simple request because I feel like it's more likely to get done on it's own.
Maybe make a separate FR for that?

  • Feature Request:  Modify Audio Channels from the Timeline in Premiere CC.1

Why have we never been able to modify audio channels once a clip is added to a sequence?  I'm guessing there's a good reason Adobe has never had this feature.  The lack of this feature is explicitly mentioned a few times in the audio section of the Premiere Pro CC manual, as if it's a benefit NOT to have it.  But the benefit is entirely lost on me.
In my workflow, I synchronize my double-system video and audio before anything else.  I do this in PluralEyes (and unfortunately I'll have to keep doing it this way, until PPr's sync on sound feature gets fixed—for me it's never worked).
Once PluralEyes has synched hours of footage and audio and placed it on a PLURALEYES GENERATED sequence, I import that sequence into Premiere.  Note:  Since I haven't gone through the step of creating a blank New Sequence, I don't get the opportunity to setup my audio channels the way I'd like in my sequence (i.e. Stereo recordings should occupy ONE track, not two.  Typically these tracks come from a camcorder and are used for reference sound, or ambient noise at best, so I don't need them taking up precious real estate in my sequence).
Since PluralEyes doesn't merge my clips for me (or rather I don't want it to since I'm usually doing multi-cam sequences where I want to keep all 14, or so, tracks of audio), I have to go through the clips one by one and do a Merge Clip action once I've adjusted any minor sync issues, or determined which tracks I actually want to keep.  But, and here's the key, at this stage I'm not yet 100% certain whether I'll use the nat sound or the wireless mic sound (separate audio recorder, etc).  Furthermore, I don't really want to think about that at this point.  After I've spent a few mind-numbing hours just ingesting files, sync and merges, I want to jump into the edit as soon as possible, before I lose all will to finish this edit.  If I modify my audio channels right now, I'll lose the ability to make some creative decisions later on.
I'd like to start whacking out an assembly edit.  And then after I have a rough program, I can start looking at which audio tracks (nat or double-system) I like better in each circumstance.  This is where I become stumped that at this stage, I'm locked into whatever audio channels I've setup (or not) in the earliest stage of the edit, back before any media was actually on the timeline!  It's at this stage, and usually only at this stage that I want to start Modifying Channels—FROM THE TIMELINE!
Does anyone else feel the same?  If not, what is your workflow?
Feature Summary:  Right-click on any clip, (master clip, sub-clip, merged, nested or otherwise) in the timeline and choose Modify > Audio Channels.
I've submitted a feature request, with a link back to this discussion, so please pipe in—especially if you want this feature.

Maybe its your specific workflow, asset mangement  and use of a 3rd party application that  runs you into an issue.
Take Pluraleyes out of the equation, I would imagine my workflow is the same as most everyone else.  Find footage in the Media Browser.  Import it.  Create a Sequence and start editing.  Use the Source Monitor to set Ins and Outs and then Insert the clip on the timeline.
At this point, if the audio needs to be modified, it cannot be done on the Timeline.  The workaround, of course, is to Find Clip in Project; Modify Audio in the Project panel; then do a Matchframe to replace the audio clip.  This works, but requires many steps per clip.  Also, Matchframe in Premiere Pro CC is not reliable.
Introducing a new Modify Audio (from Timeline) feature as seen in the fantasy screenshot above would solve it.
I dont use Pluraleyse ...which I understand to be a synching aid...so I dont know the workflow it imposes on one .
Returning to Pluraleyes workflow, this issue is compounded by the need to Modify almost ALL audio.  Every stereo track is separated and placed on two MONO tracks taking up precious real estate.  This is not something Pluraleyes imposes.  It is due to the way Premiere imports XML timelines.  This would apply to sequences imported from Final Cut as well.
In this case it would be ideal to select both the LEFT and RIGHT mono tracks and choose "Modify > Audio Channels > Merge L/R Mono to a Single Stereo track."  Ideal?  No.  I guess Ideal would be if Premiere would interpret XML files properly in the first place.
What actually is the issue with Premieres synch and merge workflow in your case?
Audio Sync in Premiere Pro doesn't work.  Period.

  • What Do You think of My Feature Requests?

Hi, I submitted the following Feature Requests to the Premiere CC feature requests form.
I think Premiere CC keeps improving but there are some things that really annoy me.   And below are some of my requests.   I'd love to know if any of these requests are in error - if I'm actually missing something.
    Thanks for checking these out!
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
    AUTO-PATCHING
How would you like the feature to work?
When I select a Track Target - such as V1 Target -  the Source patch should follow along. For example, if I select V1, then the V1 Source should automatically move next to V1
Why is this feature important to you?
This saves time and saves an extra, unnecessary step of having to move the Source patch.
This makes editing faster and more intuitive.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
Increase/Decrease Volume using Keyboard for MULTIPLE CLIPS at once (between In and Out)
How would you like the feature to work?
    1. Set in and out in the Timeline
    2. Make sure Audio Targets are set for the tracks you want to affect
    3.  Press your keyboard shortcuts for increasing or decreasing volume
Result: All Audio volumes between In and Out go up or down by the same amount.
Why is this feature important to you?
This saves a lot of time. Currently, I have to copy and paste Volume attributes and that wastes time and is not as intuitive.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
Select Nearest Edit Keyboard Commands Should Select All Nearest Edits on All TARGETED TRACKS, even if staggered
How would you like the feature to work?
    1. Position Playhead near the edits you want selected (for Trim)
1B: Make sure the Track Targets for the tracks you want to affect are highlighted
    2. Press the Keyboard Shortcut for Select Nearest Edit…
Result: Even if the edit points don't all line up on the same frame, Premiere should select (with a Roller, etc) ALL edit points NEAREST to the playhead on Tracks which have their Target buttons selected.
How it works now:  Now Premiere only select those edit points that line up together the same frame.
Why is this feature important to you?
How Premiere currently works wastes a lot of time. It currently requires the editor to manually click and add other edit selections.
Currently, Premiere does not actually select all the edit points on SELECTED TRACKS.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
REMOVE EFFECT - ALLOW US TO CHOOSE WHICH EFFECTS
How would you like the feature to work?
    1. Highlight one or more Clips to select them.
    2.  Press the Remove Effects Keyboard Shortcut
What should happen: Premiere should present you with a window that allows you to check the effects you want to remove or uncheck the effects you don't want to remove.
Why is this feature important to you?
This is very important because often I have a remove just one effect on a large group of effects.  I don't have the time - it would take forever - to go through each individual clip and eliminate that particular effect in the Effect Controls panel.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:
A Paste Insert should move the IN/OUT marks down the Timeline, just like the clips
How would you like the feature to work?
    1. Set an In an Out point somewhere in the timeline.
2  In the timeline, after copying some material,  PASTE INSERT, the clips in front of a whole bunch of other clips (also earlier than the In/Out marks)
    What Should Happen:
Material AND In/Out marks should shift to the right to maintain sync.
    What currently happens:
Premiere correctly shifts the Clips that follow the pasted material, Down the Timeline, to maintain sync.  However, Premiere keeps the In/Out Marks where they are.
Why is this feature important to you?
I often copy  material that's between In/Out marks and then go earlier in the Timeline and paste Insert that material. But when I jump back to the In point (Go to In) the In/Out marks haven't move and so I have to find my place in the material all over again.
It shouldn't work this way. It wastes time. And other NLEs don't do it this way. They shift the In/Out marks.

Nice requests. Just trying to be helpful here:
Re REMOVE EFFECT - ALLOW US TO CHOOSE WHICH EFFECTS
I agree - this could be quite useful. However, It sounds like using adjustment layers may be helpful for your workflow also?
Re: Increase/Decrease Volume using Keyboard for MULTIPLE CLIPS at once (between In and Out)
I've stopped using volume altogether now, and instead use 'Gain' mapped to "g" key in premiere keyboard layout. SUPER useful, for all the reasons you describe. I've never used I/O marks, but you can make big selections of clips, or a whole track's. Volume controls in Premiere, as far as I can tell, caps at +6DB for some reason. I routinely have to go much higher than that. also there is a very intelligent gain options screen that lets you bump your selected clips relatively by +/- DB levels; or set absolute values; OR set normalization targets. I LOVE IT, and its all I use now.
It seems to me that the audio component of Premiere if far more sophisticated than any other NLE I've used  [ Avid MC, FCP...]. My only caveat is that volume and gain are not integrated across all methodologies. For example, you can have a volume adjustment on the clip, the track, and gain adjustments on the clip all operating independently- its alot to keep track of on projects that get passed back and forth between different editors with different methods!

  • Feature Requests: "Last Import" shortcut / Last visited collections in "New Coll." dialog

i think this isn't not only my personal workflow and others would be happy about this minor improvements:
    1. after an import of photos from the memory card i'm usually separate them into several new collections. after naming them i'm pointing to an existing collection set.
here i always need to scroll around in the pulldown menu of the new collection dialog to find the desired set. this menu is growing longer and longer with my nearly 100k photos.
it would be extremely nice to have displayed here some, let's say, top 5 or 10 collection sets i've visited to get quickly to a set where to drop the new collection.
such kind of history is already availabe in the left hand pulldown menu above the film strip. so it shouldn't be difficult to integrate this in the new collection dialog.
additionally a structured menu would be better there than the current view with all collection sets folded out.
additionally think about the mac-like navigation through folders in the finder with the cursor keys: up/down to move in the set structure, right to go into a set, left to move one level up.
    2. after having dropped a new collection into a set i usually need to go back to the last import section of the library to continue my work. this is possible only by clicking in the catalog panel or by choosing last import from the left hand pulldown menu above the film strip. here a keyboard shortcut would be a huge time saver.

You've got some nice ideas there.  As they may not make the final release, and this forum will be closed down once the beta is over, might I suggest adding it as a suggestion on the Feature Request forum http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family where it can easily be tracked?  If you post the link to your request here, others can also vote on your request.

    File requests here:
    https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform

If you want to do this correctly you need to file a request for each feature.
Ripple Sequence and Chapter Markers is already implemented. Sequence markers are the same as chapter markers, yes? (Ripple Sequence Markers, select Marker > Ripple Sequence Markers.)
Ability to print the Keyboard Shortcuts, or save all of them as a text file. also available. (hold ctrl+shift while opening. A button with clipboard appears)
Keyboard shortcuts to scale image zoom in Source and Program tabs. available

Make Export and Title windows return to the previously adjusted size and placement. They do.
Some feature you posted are great. How about a eyedropper tool for the Color Matte?
I find the Magnet for Snap quite visible. There is also this feature in the Pref to make the playhead snap.

  • Temporarily disabling opacity layer property - Feature Request

    Hi.
I have searched but not found any answer in the After Effect's keyboard shortcuts page.
Is there an easy way to disable the opacity effect layer property for one layer in a comp ? (temporarily, removing all the opacity keys is not an option)
I'm working on a slideshow with fade in/out, self modified (so opacity keyframes are 0, 100, 100, 0).
But since I have to change also position and scale, I sometimes need to edit one layer solo, with 100% opacity, instead of 0.
    So far, I've been pushing my keys out ( 0 - - - 100 - - - 100 - - - 0 => 0 - - - 100 - - - - - - - - - - - 100 - - - 0 ) so my view is opaque most of the time, and then I need to put everything back in place so the transitions look fine.
Since I'm not advanced user in AE, may be I've missed a way to do it, or a shortcut.
Right now, I'm thinking about Photoshop's mask thumbnail (in the layers panel) that you can alt-click/shift-click to display or set inactive. Is there such a thing in AE and if not, where is the best place to put this as a feature request ?

For a quick toggle on off opacity set up an animation preset. I have one that uses the in and out point of the layer to set in and out opacity fades. I can't remember when I last manually set keyframes for opacity for a layer. Here's a free preset for you: Dropbox - fadeIO.ffx
To add a second instance of the standard transform controls plus a skew control go to Effects>Distort>Transform
Add in a mask and you have the best of all worlds. Works for everything but Z and in conjunction with CC14's new Effects Masks, opens up all kinds of single layer possibilities.

  • Feature request: View layer comps in both Comments and Extract

    Good day,
I'd like to see the layer comps dropdown duplicated and applied to the Comments panel of Extract, in hopes that when viewing layer comps over the web, there's better, faster performance when reviewing comps. Extract is wonderful, but not everyone on my team needs the tools it offers (just developers, really). Everyone on my team does need to view the layer comps, making the comments section an appropriate home for it.
Note: I'm not suggesting moving layer comps from Extract to Comments. Please make layer comps available to both.
    Thanks for reading,
    -Brent

    Hi John,
I visit there for other product feature requests quite often. It unfortunately does not offer Creative Cloud as an option from it's dropdown.
Perhaps I should request that feature?

  • Feature Request for WSUS

    Feature request
    Server Clean up Wizard.
Add an option to delete the entire Wsus database/files and start the download all over again.
    Product Classifications.
Add an option - look only for updates where there is a computer that has a reported software usage.
It is good that a System admin does not download updates to software example Office 97, when no computer has it installed. And it is also good for Microsoft not to have Office 97 files downloaded from Microsoft servers when there is no software usage except
when WSUS is forced to download and delete.
    Automatic cleanup.
A new feature, that builds upon the constant error of wsus database getting to large, and therefor cannot complete the Server Cleanup Wizard "Deleting unused updates". The feature is, run the cleanup within specified x number of days and then do the
five options without a systemadministrator interaction.
    BRG

    Server Clean up Wizard.
Add an option to delete the entire Wsus database/files and start the download all over again.
SenneVL is correct -- deleting the entire WSUSContent folder can be done through Explorer, although there is NO legitimate use-case in which this should ever be done, despite some very poorly written and misleading guidance available on the web to do this
very thing, for purposes which will never be achieved by doing so.
As for the database, well deleting the database is tantamount to uninstalling the role, and thus this capability already exists in the product uninstallation functionality.

I see this request from time to time and fundamentally it comes from a lack of understanding of how WSUS works. One who understands the basic communication pathways of WSUS would realize that this request is impossible to fulfill.
The ONLY way a computer knows that it needs, or doesn't need, a particular update, product category, update classification, etc., is because there is a *package* in the WSUS database containing detection logic that the Windows Update Agent can test against
its system configuration. Only *then* could it be known whether any given package/product/classification is needed by any system.
Ergo, the architecture of the system is [1] first get the packages, then [2] determine if the packages are NEEDED, and if so [3] APPROVE the packages for deployment to the systems that need the package.
Yeah, I'd like a system to miraculously know which of my systems need which updates too ... although how would such a system ever know that I don't WANT to deploy certain updates, like, say.. I don't install Silverlight on Domain Controllers, or MS13-083
    is particularly problematic?
While it's a nice dream to have a fully automated "hands off" patch management system, the reality is that patches are built and tested by humans and therefore require *human* involvement in the process of deployment.
It is good that a System admin does not download updates to software example Office 97, when no computer has it installed.
It is also good that a sysadmin has a nominal clue about what is or is not installed in their environment before they worry about patching it! A key component of every patch management implementation is a complete software inventory. While I can certainly
understand missing the one system that still has an instance of JRE6 or Flash10 installed, I think not knowing what version(s) of a $400 productivity suite are installed is a different beast.
And it is also good for Microsoft not to have Office 97 files downloaded from Microsoft servers
Also, you could have picked a more realistic example. Office '97 has never been available via WSUS!
    Automatic cleanup.
A new feature, that builds upon the constant error of wsus database getting to large
Funny you should mention this. The solution for this problem is to actually (and correctly!) use the automatic cleanup tool that's already provided in the product.
and therefor cannot complete the Server Cleanup Wizard "Deleting unused updates".
The *only* reason this happens is because the tool is not used in an appropriate manner from the time the WSUS server is first implemented!
If you *want* to fully automate it (e.g. run it as a scheduled task), that can easily by done by using PowerShell and Task Scheduler.

  • Feature Request: Store "Saved Location" as part of metadata

Feature request: LR does not save the name of the user-created “Saved Location” (the ones that the user creates in the Saved Locations panel) as part of the metadata. But I could be a good idea to make this possible. As a general functionality or as a possibility to mark a checkbox which makes Lightroom copy "Saved Location" to IPTC-data.

  • Posting Feature Requests for others to Copy/Paste

I recently posted a Feature Request I sent to Adobe for another member to copy/paste as his own FR since he liked the suggestion (see the FR below).
After doing so, I got the idea that we could all do this: copy/paste FRs we send to Adobe into threads on this forum to help each other support the idea with similar requests, or even copy/paste the FR as our own.  With limited resources and time, there's only so many requests Adobe can implement in every new version.   That why it's so important that new features the Premiere Pro team invests their hard work and time on be the tools that would benefit the greatest number of editors.  The more people back up certain ideas, the more likely they'll be implemented sooner than later.
There's power in numbers, so how about using this forum to share our best ideas and make it easier for others to add their voice of support?  It's great that Adobe provides us with a way to send them feedback, but it's too bad that it's a one-way conversation with very little, if any, dialogue back and forth between the submitter and Adobe.  That's why I thought it would be great to bring more of that potential dialogue here, where we can share ideas and support the creation of an ever better Premiere Pro!
If you've never posted a FR or BR (Bug Report) before, you can easily join the effort to make Premiere Pro become all that it can be, here: www.adobe.com/go/wish

Here's the FR I pasted in another thread, as an example.
    *******Enhancement / FMR*********
Brief title for your desired feature:  Drag&Drop Modified clips into Project Window
How would you like the feature to work?
Ability to Drag&Drop clips with effects, motion settings, keyframes and/or markers back into the Project Window from the Timeline for later use.
Why is this feature important to you?
The Project Window is far better than Sequences for storing/organizing modified clips for future use, since it is:
    Searchable
    Sortable
Viewable in Icon and List views
Full of helpful metadata columns such as 'Video/Audio Usage'
Foolproof in that the original sequence can be deleted without losing any created subclips
Given these advantages, why only allow us to store modified clips in Sequences? Please fix this by allowing users to Drag&Drop clips from the Timeline to the Project Window while preserving all of their modifications (effects, keyframes, motion settings and/or markers).

As it has already been discussed in this thread (and duplicated threads are not allowed in Adobe Forums), the aforementioned feature request is mainly based on the false statement that an editor can either store raw clips in the Project panel or modified clip in the timeline. That's false because an editor can nest modified clip right in the timeline and the nested sequence will be automatically stored in the Project panel, turning into a regular reusable asset.
Unfortunately, the OP, as was also outlined in the duplicated thread, carefully avoids any mentioning this ability, which becomes your second nature if you use After Effects (which is unlike FCP is a part of Adobe Suite).
However, since the OP asks for sharing ideas, I do not hesitate to do this once again. Here is the feature request intended to improve the usability of such PrPro assets as 'Sequences' without breaking existing workflow:
    *******Managing Sequences*******
It would be nice if managing capabilities for such assets as 'Sequences' were extended with the following features:
    - similar live thumbnail view, which was introduced for footages in CS6. A small 'Sequence' badge in the top left corner of the thumbnail would allow to differentiate between sequences and clips;
    - enabled metadata and ability to handle them like for any other regular asset;
    - ability to remove empty audio or video tracks completely, i.e. get a sequence as an Audio or Video asset only;
    - pop-up dialog box on hitting 'Nest' command, which would allow to give meaning name instead of default 'Nested Sequence XXX', contain 'Delete All Empty Tracks' checkbox and a button for advanced dialog for logging metadata right on a brand new asset creation.
These features would improve an ability to exploit sequences as reusable assets and preserve consistent applications behaviour throughout the Suite instead of breaking existing workflow by inventing new FCP style 'subclip with effects' type of asset. See this discussion in PrPro Forum for some more details:

  • Source code / feature request

    Hi
This tool is fantastic and saves me a huge amount of time, helping us find some interesting bugs (like why "delete myarr.pop()" was having such an odd side-effect when the array contained strings..).
I'm trying to get hold of the source code for this but my SVN clients can't connect, I've tried lots of different network configurations (from work, home and mobile connections) and both the SVN and HTTP connections, so I think the issue is on the Adobe/SoureForge end. Can anyone check/fix this?
The reason for wanting the source is to add a minor change to the Tag Viewer / Tag Information output. Currently I'm trying to work out what function is defined at offset 0x348B2 of my SWF file. I can see it in the hex editor but it's tricky to work out what this function name is: the class is defined in DoInitActions offset 200492 and length 24355 i.e. a big class.
What I'm hoping for is to add the offsets into each line in the DoInitActions 'Tag Information' panel, so e.g. instead of:
            if L63
            push $1
            push 'isMouseDown'
            getMember
            pushDuplicate
    I'd see:
    1522:        if L63
    1527:        push $1
    1527:        push 'isMouseDown'
    1534:        getMember
    1535:        pushDuplicate
etc where the number at the start is the offset of this instruction within the DoInitActions tag.
If anyone with the source can do this and update the binaries then great but I suspect it's something I would have to do myself... but currently I can't get at the source without having to individually browse to and download every file :-(
    thanks
       Andrew

A new version of SWF Investigator was released on Friday (version 0.6.2) and I will be updating the open-source repository in the next day or two.  When the update is complete, I will respond to this thread so that you know to pull down the latest version of the source code.
For SVN access, I have used TortoiseSVN on Windows which is supported by SourceForge: http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/sourceforge/wiki/TortoiseSVN%20instructions
The logic for your feature request already exists in SWF Investigator but it is currently commented out. For the next release, I can work on enabling it. If you want to play with the functionality in the meantime, then the code is in SWFInvestigator/src/decompiler/tools/Disassembler.as.Within that file there is a function called, "start." Within that function, there is an if-block which checks for "showOffset". You will need to uncomment the out.print() statement within the showOffset if-block. You will also want to set showOffset to true just before the if statement. Recompile the application and it will begin to show the information you want.
