Fed up - can't maintain a decent connection

Struggle to connect, keep losing connection, call up helpline, switch channel,re-set hub 3....problem is I had a good consistent connection with BT Voyager for 5/6yrs now have infinity and taken a step backwards.  Everytime I ring up they change channels which fix it for couple of hours then it fails again.  Got a Wii which doesn't seem to like this new hub.  Can I switch back to my faster, reliable BT Voyager??

:/ I also have a HH3 and have just let it sort its self out with the wireless channels (Plugged it in and it worked)
The channel is Set to Auto (Smart Wireless)
The only think I changed from the out of the box settings was to disable "Wireless push button connection (WPS)"
As that always annoys me and some devices dont like it. (The Option is in the advanced wireless options of the hub)
Had no real issues with wireless at all with the HH3 (Compared to the old HH2)
Dont know if that will make a difference at all
I take it it is a wireless stability issue you are having?

  • Can't maintain a WiFi connection

    Hi,
I am having trouble using my BTHomeHub2's WiFi connection on my mobile (HTC Desire).
When at home when I have turned on WiFi on my mobile and I can see my Hub's SSID in the available network's list, I can try to connect to it but it will not maintain a connection. It keeps disconnecting, connecting, disconnecting etc.
On my mobile I can connect to my work's WiFi connection without problem. It connects and stays connected. I have connected to my BTHomeHub2's WiFi connection with my laptop, which stays connected without issue.
I have entered and re-entered on my mobile all the necessary WiFi details correctly, checked them and rechecked them. They are all correct. I have tried restarting the Hub (it's never left on for a long period anyway, e.g. overnight). The indicator lights shine blue  - the Wireless indicator is lit.
You may be thinking I should be asking my phone manufacturer/network provider about this, but since I can connect on my mobile to my work's WiFi without issue, connect via my laptop to the BTHomeHub2's WiFi connection without issue, the problem lies somewhere with the BTHomeHub and that my mobile can’t stay connected.
Has anyone else had a similar problem? If you have any ideas please let me know.
    Thanks

    welcome to the forum
have you tried going into the hub and change the wireless from defauly b/g/n to just b/g as Desire is not 'n' rated.
you can also try removing the desire for the devices shown in the hub and then try to reconnect the desire

  • How can I maintain a single connection between Forms 9i and JNI?

I am creating a JNI interface into a legacy application written in Pro C. Currently this legacy system is accessed from Forms 6i through userexits. Under this setup the Pro C application is able to share the connection to the DB established by forms. I want to mimic this functionality over the web using JNI as the link between my web components and the legacy application.
ie. I want to share the DB connection established by my web components with my Pro C application.
Thus far I have been unable to find any documentation on how to do this.
Any ideas would be very helpful.
Information about how Oracle Forms shares its connection with userexits would also be helpful.

The Pro*C application is linked in to Forms, and runs in the same process space, which is how the session is shared.
You can't share the Forms session outside of Forms. So it's not possible to do what you want.

  • Messages keeps disconnecting - can't maintain GTalk / Yahoo connections

I've been using Messages with my GTalk and Yahoo accounts for a year or so. Recently, around the time I upgraded to Yosemite, I started having a difficult time getting messages to stay connected to my accounts. It frequently disconnects and stays disconnected even when I click "available" in the status dropdowns - then eventually (10 minutes?) it just reconnects. It does this many times throughout the day. All of my other networked apps seem fine - hipchat, skype, web browser, email, etc.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • ITunes 7.0 can not maintain a network connection, since upgrade

I am stuck in dial up country and recently upgraded to iTunes 7. Until then I was having no problems downloading songs (even though it took a while). Now I am getting an error saying the network connection was reset and to check settings and try again. When this happens I am still online so that is not the problem. I have tried shutting down and restarting, clearing my DNS cache maually, keeping another window open that is connected to internet and closing everthing but iTunes. I also have run the network diagnostics in iTunes and received the following information when the iTunes store connection status failed -Network Connection Information
    Active Connection: MSN
    Connected: Yes
    Online: Yes
    Using Modem: Yes
    Using LAN: No
    Using Proxy: No
    Firewall Information
    Windows Firewall is off.
    McAfee Personal Firewall is installed.
Connection attempt to Apple web site was unsuccessful.
    The network connection timed out.
Connection attempt to iTunes Store was successful.
Secure connection attempt to iTunes Store was unsuccessful.
    The network connection timed out.
I have purchased a season pass to a tv show and a entire album and neither will download. Please help me!! Thanks!

Ive downloaded the Quicktime installation and so far got quite excited in the hope that this would at least help recover the new iTunes. But alas, iTunes now fails to install at all and an error message reads:
"Quicktime was not installed properly, please re-install Quicktime and try again"
I therefore re-installed the Quicktime application repeatedly with limited success with the same error messaging reappearing on each ocassion. It's starting to verge on the point of frustration now as every attempt I make at installing iTunes ends in failure.
I don't want to give up as I have new tracks that I'm desperate to upload to my iPod which I've not been able to.

  • Lion to 10.7.2. - can't maintain an internet connection

I just bought a new iMac and immediately updated to the latest Lion OS (10.7.2). I connected to the internet fine initially but after a few hours of use the connection continually dropping every few seconds when I go to a new URL. It's happening with my Mail and iTunes as well. I am connected via ethernet so it's not a WiFi issue. I have to reload the pages once or twice to get them to load. Does anyone have a fix for this issue?

Hello Emma I presume your in the UK.
In the UK PPPoA is the standard PPPoE is not supported by many ISP's.
On your Mac just use DHCP in your Network settings. Do not use PPPoE.
Then login to your router's web configuration page. http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1. Admin and Password are the usual login details for netgear routers.
    use the following details
    PPPoA
    VC-Mux
    Chap authentication
    vpi and vci are 38,0
and of course use your isp username and password.
Post edited. I just noticed you had already figured out the correct details.

  • HOW CAN I MAINTAIN AN INTERNET CONNECTION

Touchsmart 610 randomly "loses" internet connection.  Refreshing several times on desktop restores it.  Modem is good (been replaced); other pc's in house don't have the problem.

    Hi:
What model wireless adapter do you have in your PC?
What operating system?  and is it 32 or 64 bit?
Maybe a driver update will help.
If you have the Broadcom wireless card, try the latest driver for it.

My ipad is flat and when I plug it in to charge it just repeatedly turns on and then turns off but isn't charging. I tried to plug into itunes but it just goes through the same ritual and can't maintain connection to itunes. What should I do ?

    1. Reset iPad
    2. Try another wall socket
    3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)
    4. Try another charger (make sure it's an original Apple charger)
    5. Clean Lightning port with compress air or new paint brush

My airport express frequently drops the internet connection. Once I unplug it, and re-plug it in, my Macbook Pro17,IMac 24, iPad air and my wife's Acer 15 works  fine until it drops the signal again. This happens on a regular basis. Is there anything I can do ensure it maintains the internet connection?

    It is tricky..
But yes it can be done as long as you use a different IP subnet to what is being used for the internet..
So I need to know what modem router you have?? Does it have wireless as that would make it very easy?
What IP is the computer getting?
Then I can give you the details to setup wireless statically on a different subnet.

  • Laptop can't maintain wifi connection to my airport

hi, I got a 1.67Ghz G4 power book w/ airport extreme card. (firmware version 405.1) been connecting to the web via my airport extreme base station (802.11n)
recently the power book start to have problem maintaining the internet connection, it would connect, then drop off the connection after a few minutes, and the network name would also disappear as well like it does not detect the network. then reconnect again either by itself or by use internet connect, however, sometimes it does say there is an error connecting when I use internet connect.
my desktop is also connected to the airport extreme base station via ethernet, and the connection has been fine.
Is there a way to find out what is causing the problem? the base station? or the laptop?
thank you in advance for your commends and suggestions

It is very possible that you may have some form of Wi-Fi interference in the immediate area that is preventing your PowerBook from getting a good clean signal. I suggest you perform a simple site survey, using a utility like iStumbler to determine potential areas of interference...and then, try to either eliminate or significantly reduce them.

  • Why can't I maintain a wireless connection with my p1102w?

Hi, I need help with my LaserJet P1102W.  Though mine is fairly new and prints fine, I simply cannot get it to maintain a wireless connection to my HP laptop.  I have re-installed the drivers and re-configured everything possible with the wireless settings, but nothing works.  Once I shut down the printer or my PC, then the connection is lost and has to be re-configured the next time I turn the printer on and try to print!  In fact, lately I've just given up and connected my HP laptop to it via a USB cable, which kind of defeats the purpose of having a wireless printer.  I am at my wits end.  And by the way, I have a VERY strong wireless connection in my house with Verizon FIOS -- download speeds routinely exceed 16 MB/sec.  Is there a simple solution or fix?

I have the same issue. My IP5 has always had weaker wifi than our IP4, Ipad mini and Ipod. Now its to the point where i have to be in the same room as my wireless router in order for my IP5 to connect to wifi at a useable strenght. While my other devices still have the same strong reception.
Tried resetting, restoring, router reset.... nothing helped.

  • PO Change O/P error- Maintain outgoing EDI-connection data for partner for

    Hi Experts ,
We are connecting our SAP ECC 6 ( Ehp 4) sytem to 3rd party system via SAP PI.  We already done all the settings..line Output detemination procedure, Partner Profile ( WE20) , Port creation , Condition Records..etc.
We have PO Creation ( ZCRE)  and PO Change ( ZPOC) Outbound messages to go from our system. Both have sepate message Types, since PO Creation IDOc should go immidiatly ( Dispatch time 4-Send immediately (when saving the application)
and PO Change IDoC should send as per wish manully in ME9F ( Dispatch time -3 Send with application own transaction).
Once PO Created , Output Message successfully triggering and  IDoC is creating ( Green Color) ..so it is working fine .
Fo PO Change Message we had selcted Program -FM06AEND & FORM routine -CHANGE_FLAG.
We also set "Multiple issuing " checkbox in the Output Type and no requierment is assigned.
In WE 20, for Logical system ( LS) Partner XYZ,  we set Process code ME11 and checked "Change Message"
    1. But when I change PO Qty , output is not automaticaly triggering .After changing PO, if we see determination Analysis, in Procedure RMBEF1, this output ZPOC shows 2 times. First, it shows green color,...Output Found , and second times, it displays, "partner XYZ is not an EDI partner"
    2. If we try to manually enter the Output ZPOC in PO Header, then system gives the Error - Maintain outgoing EDI-connection data for partner XYZ.
Can anyone pls suggest what should be the reason for above?
    Thanks
    NAP

    Issue Resolved .
The reason for this system behaviour is in fine-tuned control: We was
using ZMIN only for new message output and ZCHG only for change messagesNevertheless, you can maintain two entries in WE20 for ORDCHG:
EF ZCHG ME11 w/o Change message flag
EF ZCHG ME11 with Change message flag
    Thanks

  • Do App Tabs and Tab Groups maintain an active connection with the websites they represent?

I really like the concept behind App Tabs and Tab Groups. I have a few questions, though.
    1. Will I use more memory opening a new window or creating a tab group with the same number of tabs? I am addicted to Alt+Tab and am frequently frustrated by tabs because I have to use the mouse (I don't use ctrl+1,2,3 because I can rarely remember where a given tab is in the sequence). I see there is a shortcut to access the panorama view, so maybe tab groups will work for me. It really is down to which method uses up more memory.
    2. With tab groups, I assume the websites maintain a live connection until you close a tab or a group. This is not like a fancy shortcut, right? Is the same true of App Tabs? We have an unreliable connection speed and I am wary of keeping all my apps connected through potentially long periods of non-use.
At any given time, it is not uncommon for me to have 5 or 6 tabs open (per window), but if I use App Tabs, it could bump me up to 20 or more. Since a handful of my "apps" periodically update (fb, twitter, email, pandora, etc), I'm not sure it makes sense to keep them all active. Any thoughts/suggestions/recommendations on the subject are welcome.
    Thanks!
    ~KJ

With the help of information from user, ptressel, in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1032154#answer-673322 a post here about the existence of sessionstore.js when version 33 was released], I was able to easily recover my tabs and tab groups as follows:
    # close Firefox and, perhaps, allow a few seconds (30s?) for any final closing of files;
    # check to see if you have a sessionstore.js file in your profile folder, named like the one I documented in my original post above;
    # if it is not timestamped prior to the discovery of your problem, open the sessionstore-backups folder;
    # check if the recovery.js file is suitably timestamped and, if not, the recovery.bak.
    # At this point, you are likely to find that none of them are prior to your problem occuring. If so, open your backups of this folder and go through steps 2-4 to find a file prior to your problem occuring.
    # When you find a file, copy it to the root of your current profile folder and name it, "sessionstore.js"
    # Open Firefox. Mine opened up as desired.
This is a Windows solution. Sorry I can't comment on other platforms, but I'd bet that as this is just a file copy and renaming, it is likely the same.
For Windows users, you may find you need to sign out and login as an administrator in order to access the backups. You need not logoff your standard account, but do have Firefox closed as described above.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can I have 2 Bluetooth connection active at the same time? Works with other phones...

Is it possible to have one Bluetooth connection for "phone audio" and a 2nd connection for "A2DP" music streaming at the same time on my iPhone 5? My car-stereo has Bluetooth for phone calls but NOT for audio streaming. However, there's a 3.5mm aux in on the head unit. On my S5 I can create one Bluetooth connection to the car-stereo and select "phone audio" and a 2nd for my Bluetooth aux-in adapter. It works perfect since months but last week I changed back to an iPhone (5s) and it appears that I can only have ONE BT connection active at a time!?  Any ideas anyone?

    Hi SwedelostinAmerica,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
The iPhone can maintain multiple pairing records, but it can only connect to one headset or hands-free device at a time. However, in your situation there may be a solution. You can connect the iPhone via Bluetooth for calls and use the 3.5mm jack on your iPhone and car radio to connect for music.
The following article explains Bluetooth pairing and usage. Please use it as a reference.

  • What can be done with my connection?

    Morning helpers,
My BB line isn't very good. We live at the end of long line and the connection has never been stable long enough to to get the stats off the box with any meaning.
I know my line is actually connected to a cab that has a new fibre enable cab next to it which would halve the distance to the exchange but there doesn't seem to be an option available to force the move. A local neighbour, down the lane, has already been moved onto the Infinity cab and is getting a solid 9mb through PLUSNET but when my next door neighbour called (same little development of houses) he was told his line was not connected to that cab but directly to the exchange, (I KNOW this to be incorrect, a BT eng has been out to fault our line in the past and confirmed we were on the cab.
The BT Speedtest usually fails due to latency, I can usually get others to run, last night I managed 244k down and 288k up. Up is usually better all the time.
Phone line is quiet to the extent that voice calls are clear but quiet.
The connection time is low due to it usually not being up, I have a HH3 and my faceplate is one of the Openreach ones that doesn't need an extra filter. BT eng has confirmed that home wiring is ok.
Any thoughts of how I should proceed.

Well there seems to be some available upgrade options to you.  For one your exchange is ADSL2+ enabled, but I would advise going onto this on your line as it would probably make the line even more unstable. I would contact the mods, you can do that by following this link: http://bt.custhelp.com/app/contact_email/c/4951 and go through the available options with you in terms of your upgrade, they can even check with Openreach if you can get Infinity, but I would imagine not so as you seem to be very far from the cabinet.  Problem with Infinity is the speed degrades 4x quicker per every km than ADSL does.
As for the steps, that are always advised to people on long lines, its really a case of doing everything your side to ensure you can get the best speed before an engineer.
    1) Get a filtered faceplate (preferably ADSL Nation), this terminates extension wiring from interferring with your broadband, has better quality filters, data loss is minimal compared to a microfilter. http://www.adslnation.com/phpapps/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=105
    2) Would be to get a shielded RJ11 cable, which has an outer metal coil for hardyness and sturdyness, and twisted pairs inside to reflect back interference.  Also the conductors at either end are 24k gold plated to ensure maximum trasmission of speed. http://www.eshopbrokers.co.uk/products/Cables/Network-Cables-Other/Belkin/Belkin-High-Speed-Internet...
    3) The most prominent, get a business hub, these alone can account for an increase in up to 800kbps of extra speed, which would leave you with a decent connection compared to what you have now. The business hub's have a special chipset in which seems to be good at handline high speeds through a lot of noise on the line, and also giving stabibility, they have a good backup for Inpulse Noise Protection.  You can get them off E-bay for around £10.
