Feedback on Documents

On most of my notifications (approvals/workflow, subscriptions, etc) I get both an email and a message in my recent notifications iview.
However, for feedback I'm just seeing it appear in the notifications iview, I'm not getting any email.  Is feedback suppose to send email?

  • Configure KM folders for  no feedback permission

    We have the following customers needs for KM folders.
    - By default, users can't feedback on a document, but they can read documents.
    - Some users can read documents and make feedback (and this implies that they can read their previous feedback, that's not a problem).
    - Administrators can read/write documents and write/read all feedbacks on a document.
    So the problem we are facing now, is how to disable feedback by default, so that basic users can't see the link "Give feedback " on the command menu, and they can't see the feedback on the details screen.
    We have configured the service permission for a folder that basic users haven't any service permission (we assume that feedback service is included) in this folders (and no permissions are inherited) or just layout service. But the fact is that the user can read the document (this is OK for us), but they can also feedback this document (that's what we don't want...).
    Any idea if it is possible to configure? What's the possible solution?

    The only restriction you can do is to restrict the feedback command to be available for certain roles, see "Roles with Visibility" in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/9d/233f989a5ba64fa44ed6e0823286ee/frameset.htm

  • Multilingual Braille for Snow Leopard, version 10.6.5

    As some users may already have discovered, the latest update to Mac OS X Snow Leopard, version 10.6.5, breaks the previous release of the CeciMac Multilingual Braille package.
    As a result, users of Braille in languages other than Apple American English should visit the English-language page on the CeciMac website to download the current beta version, which does install correctly.
    This version also allows for Braille input from terminals with 8-dot keyboards, and in the Release Notes folder on the disc image, users will find notes explaining the discrepancies between previous versions and the new beta.
    I should very much like to receive feedback on the various languages, so if you have any comments, I'd be grateful if you could complete the Feedback Request document, also on the disc image, and return it. Any suggested changes will be considered and, if appropriate, incorporated into the definitive version of this new release.

    Reinstall your iLife apps from your iLife DVD or from the original installer discs that came with your computer. If you cannot do either then you can call Apple customer service to purchase a replacement set. Or you can simply re-purchase iLife's individual apps from the App Store.

  • QM query

    Hi all
    we have a something like a portable smokedetection euipment, which can be used to measure emissions etc . If found satisfactory, a Certificate is given out to the customer, saying his device is allright and is in compliance with the regulations.
    The certificate given out has
    -date,customer #
    -equipment group/type/serial number/manufacturer
    -calibration results ,(measurement out each sensor)
    Question is, how does one get such a certificate out in QM module ? {relation with service orders or Production orders, I do not where actually to start}
    since being new, some feedback and documents on how to proceed will help.

    Create the characteristics
    Create class & assign the characteristics
    Assign it to the material in your case the object for which you are checking the emission.
    Use material specification & MIC
    Create insp lot.
    Result recording & UD to be done
    Assign the MIC to the certificate profile.
    Take the print out of the  certificate profile..
    I have metioned the steps is very broard way .Do ler me know if you have any query in any step....

    We are extremely sorry that you have had a bad experience with Adobe .
    As far as your issue is concerned ,Acrobat generally prompts for internet connection as it is required to activate the product before you could use it comfortably .Once the product is activated or licensed you would be able to use the software offline .
    This could be the possible reason you are experiencing this .Please check if you have done so and still facing this .And if you have not ,you need to license/activate your product by typing in your credentials ,i.e Adobe ID and password .

    When the user give feedback to news, document, approval process is possible to add a link to km document and is possible to see the feedback and the link to document when the user see the feedback or is possible to change the feedback editor to insert a command to add a km link?

    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to incorporate collect feedback workflow with pdf documents.
    Before you add a workflow, you plan where you want to add it (for a single list or library, or for the entire site collection) and the details of how it will work.
    If you want to add the pdf documents to a library, you can add the collect feedback workflow for a library. Please refer to:

    First you need to check whether the 'Feedback service' has been configured or activated properly. 'Feedback service' is a part of "Collaboration services".
    Also check - Whether the service user collaboration_service is defined in the portal user management.

  • When saving documents from word 2013, the save as dialog shows the default path under "other web locations"

    it used to be in the gold ole days of sharepoint 2010 and office 2010 that when I created a document in sharepoint and saved it I would get a dialog, like this (see below)  I have also attached a screen shot of the 2013 save dialog (when you save
    a document for the first time).
    I find it strange that the user actually has to select their "Current Folder" and also that it shows in the dialog as "other web locations"  Why can't it be like in the 2010 days where it automically selects the correct location
    and the user just hits save.  And why does the sharepoint location show up as an "other web location".  Is there anything that can be done (through office registry settings or another way) to make this less confusing for our users???
    now when I do this in office 2013 I get a dialog like this:

    I test in SharePoint 2013 again, When I created a new document library and created a first document and clicked save as, I got a same dialog with you that "Current Folder" was under  "other web locations". 
    But when I created a second document and from then on, when I clicked save as, I got a same dialog with myself that "Current Folder" was under "SharePoint".  
    As I have said, Actually, web locations contain Microsoft SkyDrive and SharePoint libraries. Even the default path under "other web locations", it will not affect the Save As function.

  • I can't save *new* documents back to SharePoint

    I can’t save *new* documents back to SharePoint. We have a SharePoint 2013 development environment, running on Windows Server 2012 and a Windows 7 Client Computer with Office 2010.
    Every time I click „new document“, SharePoint opens the corresponding template file in the client application (Word, Excel,…) So far, so good. When i select „Save“, the client application brings up a local save path on the client computer, not the SharePoint
    document library.
    I did some research and tried many approaches, but none of them worked.
    I installed the Desktop Experience Feature on the Windows Server 2012, added the server address to trusted sites, gave the user farm-administrator rights (to make sure it is no security problem) and switched the authentication mode for the web application.
    Does anyone know this problem and found a solution?

    For troubleshooting your issue, you can try to add a registry value to your local registry (on a machine with Office Applications installed through which you are accessing SharePoint sites):
    Click Start, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\WebClient\Parameters
    On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click Multi-String Value.
    Type AuthForwardServerList, and then press ENTER.
    On the Edit menu, click Modify.
    In the Value data box, type the URL of the server that hosts the Web share, and then click OK.
    Note You can also type a list of URLs in the Value data box. For more information, see the "Sample URL list" section in this article.
    Exit Registry Editor.

    I migrated my software/documents from another laptop so don't have the disk to reinstall. Please help! Can't open any Microsoft Office software, like Word (for 2008), and stuck in a loop?
    Whenever I select Word Microsoft Setup Assistant appears, asks for feedback, then after selecting okay (both on saying yes or no to feedback) goes on to a registration page. When I click on this it says I've already registered so I just click okay, and then move on to a update page. After this, if I click on Word, the process repeats itself.
    As I said, I don't have the disk to reinstall, and can't find the Office Settings to delete as many pages have suggested I should try. Safe Boot restarting also hasn't worked... Really stuck and need Word very soon for work.
    If you can help, that would be great, and feel free to ask any questions about the situation as I'm not an expert here.

    First, export your contact from iCloud.com and save them on your computer in a safe spot some where (like you desktop).  Use this to help you do this: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH3606
    Next, on both of your devices, go to Settings > iCloud and turn on contacts and select Merge. Then turn off contacts and select 'Delete form my [device]' when prompted.
    Now go back to iCloud.com and select a contact (yes they will all be messed up again) and select Command+A on a Mac or Control+A on a PC to select all of the contacts.  Tap the delete key on your keyboard (or right click /control click a contact and select delete).
    You iPhone, iPad and iCloud.com should not be empty for contacts.
    Go back to Settings > iCloud on both devices and turn on contacts again (you should not see merge this time).
    Next, go back to iCloud.com and import your contacts (those exported .vcards).  You can either drag and drop them into the empty contacts list in your web browser, or you can use the gear icon to import.
    You cleaned up contacts should import correctly into iCloud.com and sync to both of your devices.

  • While reading PDF document using Speak Screen option, iBooks doesn't turn pages automatically

    I have been using the speak screen option in iOS 8 to read books and pdf documents in iBooks app. iBooks app turned pages automatically and kept on reading the screen till i updated my phone to iOS8.3. Now, the app stops reading the screen once the page is completed. I have to stop my vehicle, unlock phone, open iBooks app, swipe down with two fingers. It's irritating.
    Earlier, I have read dozens of books and pdf documents using this function while doing exercise or routine tasks. now it's not possible unless someone helps.

    Unfortunately, I am having precisely the same issue since updating to iOS 8.3 with my iPhone 5s.
    I just filled out a bug report here > https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html, which I've often read on these forums is the best way to get some resolution. I don't know if you read the list of "fixes" for 8.3 or not (here: iOS 8.3), but, it includes the following:
    "Fixes an issue in Speak Screen where speech will not start again after pausing"
    So...apparently, in fixing THAT problem, they broke something else. At least for some of us...
    <Note to self: WAIT even longer than usual to do updates, read about bugs first.>

  • If you create a 3 level deep site heirarchy (with the first two levels based on the document centre template) the sharepoint OOTB breadcrumbs break

    if you create a site collection with document center as the template, then create another document center site (as a subsite) underneath it. Then create a team site (as a subsite) in this document center site. So now you have a 3 level deep site heiarchy
    with 2 levels of doc center followed by a teamsite.
    Note that the breadcrumb (when I say breadcrumb I mean the drop down folder button which shows the heirachy) shown on the teamsite skips the middle level doc center.
    I have replicated this bug in production and in my test server.  Has anyone run into this before?  This must be something peculiar with the Doc Center template.  If I do the same thing but I make the middle level a team site I do NOT have

    Hi,
    Per my test, it seems that if the second level uses a different category template except the Collaboration templates, the site will not show on the breadcrumb.
    No matter if the first level uses any template, when we view the subsite which uses the Collaboration templates, all the subsites which uses a different category template above will not show in the breadcrumb.
    You can create your own breadcrumb using code.
