Feh restore wallpaper problem

Hello.
I use feh to set my wallpaper, but command eval `cat $HOME/.fehbg` & don't accept spaces in my wallpapers name.
What to do if the wallpaper/image has spaces in its name?
Feh doesn't save the filename bash compliant (Wallpaper/Sky - Blue.jpg instead of Wallpaper/Waves\ -\ Blue.jpg).
How can i make to restore my wallpapers with spaces in its name?

The problem is that feh doesn't enclose the file name in quotes when it saves it in .fehbg
So you come to have something like
feh --bg-center file with spaces.jpg
you can't even escape quotes because in that case you would find yourself with
"feh --bg-center file with spaces.jpg"
which is recognize as a single command (imagine you had a file called "feh --bg-center file with spaces.jpg" in /usr/bin )
That's why you have to resort to sed/awk to make it work like I did: you need to put the quotes in the right place.

Try a few things:
First, try double tapping the home button. You should see a row of apps at the bottom; these are your recenty opened apps. Hold your finger down on any of the icons until they start to shake, and a red minus() appears. Tap the red minus for each app. This will close the app, not delete it. If you have too many apps open, this can cause crashes.
If it still crashes, try the basic troubleshooting steps here:

[SOLVED]Feh wallpaper problem

This used to work and it isn't now. It's pissing me off. Here are my configuration files. The wallpaper gets displayed for like 1-2 seconds after I login with SLIM and then it autosets to the default openbox, semi-gray black.

The file wallpaper exists in the location in .fehbg. why doesn't work? I don't understand...as it displays 1-2 seconds on startup.

Restoration/Sync Problems

I've been having major troubles with my iPod 5th gen.
When I moved my library from my PC to my Macbook, I restored my iPod, so there is nothing on it now.
First, as I tried to sync it on my Macbook, the message "this iPod could not be synced because the disk cannot be read from or written to" came up. Then I tried to restore it, but I keep getting a message that says "this iPod could not be restored because it could not be unmounted".
I keep going through this process over and over, and nothing seems to work.
HELP!

I just switched from PC to a Macbook too. I am having a different problem with my iPod and I have never seen your problem before but I do know that your issue is with the way your mac is trying to access your iPod. If you haven't reset your iPod (enter and Menu buttons) you might try that first, then let your iPod completely run out of battery and let it sit dead for a day or two. Then update iTunes and hook your iPod up again. If that doesn't work, take it to the Apple store and make them fix it.

Photos App and Wallpaper Problems in iOS8

     I'm a fan of photos of Apple because of its retina display (I'm using an iPod touch 5th Gen 32gb)... it gives my images the best quality and real sharpness of every image. But when I updated to iOS8. I found some tiny problems.. well it is tiny, but for a Multimedia artist like me.. its a very BIG DEAL.
The Photos App:
     Whenever I open up some of my photography in the Photos app, it loses it's sharpness. it is not that sharp, and to sharpen it.. i had to zoom in and zoom out. Unlike in the older versions of iOS, the photos (in any given resolution) will be automatically sharp when I slide through my images. In iOS8, it simply don't and it is really frustrating. Try it yourself to see the difference.
note: my photography is straight from my DSLR camera then I just put it in my iPod. You may suggest to resize it, yeah I do, but in iOS7 the sharpness is really good.
Changing my wallpaper:
     I always make my own high quality wallpaper through my photography and my works. And my wallpaper always looked very sharp and great. I haven't changed my wallpaper since I updated to iOS8, last night I created a new wallpaper (in Photoshop) and when I changed it to my iPod... the quality is just not that good. (Problem is similar to the Photos app) The sharpness is just not there. I can't appreciate my "Retina" display anymore.
Hope you guys hear this out and fix it.
P.S. in iOS7 I do the similar stuff and it works just fine, in iOS8 it really doesn't and it is really irritating.

Wallpaper problem with newly imported images. 1680x1050 displaying @840x525

Hello,
I imported some new images into Aperture and I want to use them as Desktop wallpapers for my computer. The images original size are 1680x1050 and they appear to retain they're size upon import.
I then go to System Preferences -> Desktop and ScreenSaver and find my images in the project I placed them in. All my previous imported images that were imported many months ago still display fine however these new images are displaying 840x525! I know the exact size because after selecting the image I can drag its thumbnail view from the preview area.
I then tried just specifying the folder in my hard drive where the images are located and the Desktop and Screensaver applet had no problem displaying the images at their original size 1680x1050 so I don't believe anything is wrong with them.
I tried looking throughout Aperture if there was an import setting that could be affecting this but I didn't find anything. The only thing I've done recently was upgrade my system to 10.5.4 with the Software Update tool. Is there anything else that can be wrong here?
Note: I tried using this wallpaper as well as still have the same issue, http://ironmanmovie.marvel.com/downloads/desktops/images/desk03_1680.jpg
I would appreciate any insight to what can be causing my images to display smaller than they really are on my wallpaper. When viewing them in Aperture they are the correct size.

HT201321 Finder flashing, "Window Restore", desktop problems

I've never seen this happen before. My finder icon bounces in the dock while a window with this warning is up, "Window Restore problem would you like to restore or not restore?" Since it is flashing on and off you can't click either button. What we found was there was a file on the desktop it did not like, I made a folder inside the main HD and put the items from the destop in it and deleted what was on the desktop. This stopped the Finder bouncing problem but Indesign and Acrobat keep crashing. I can log in as admin and it works well but need to fix the desktop problem. Any ideas?

Does the issue occur just after the installation or after some changes?
Please try the follow step to see if it works:
1.Open Task Manager by right-click on Taskbar and select Start Task Manager or by using keyboard shortcut "Ctrl+Shift+Esc".
2.Click on More Details button and go to "Processes" tab.
3.Now look for "Windows Explorer" process. As soon as you click on it, you'll get a new button "Restart" at the bottom-right corner of the window.
4.You can also right-click on the process and select "Restart" option.
If it doesn't work,please try the safe mode and clean boot mode to check the result.

Iphone restore backup problem

Big problem here lads,
Today I transfered my purchases and synced my iphone to my itunes.
Then I installed the latest 4.3.3 software.
and when I went to restore it says it was last synced 24/11/2010
Is that it now, does that mean everything is gone?
I not only correctly synced today but i have been doing it on a regular basis since the date it is showing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

i indeed came to a technical support forum requesting help and instead i got quizzed and how I was possibly able to do something.
We all know about jailbreaking and unlocking phones and indeed the "hazzards" of updating to the latest versions. And everyone also knows there are ways around doing things that apple have not"signed off" on.
Yes I have a problem which I do not know, and I admitedly I am very technical minded I am pretty **** sure that the software I have on my phone is not the issue nor would be revelant to go into exact detail on why and how I was able to do certain things.
Now please if you want to help by all means do because not only will you be helping me but certainly others who have the same problem now and in the future. However if all you want to do is be a smart *** well then your of benefit to know one.

Will Time Machine restore software problems as well as data?

I've got a 20" aluminum (2007) iMac with Leopard (all updates installed) and Time Machine. I'm having a shutdown problem that I'm trying to resolve. Yesterday, the computer started powering itself off randomly, as if someone pulled the power plug. I ran both the quick and extended Apple Hardware Tests, and both came up clean (no errors). I'm thinking this may be a software problem.
I'd like to reload Leopard to clean up the software. However, I already tried doing a Restore via Time Machine yesterday, and the problem did not go away. I restored to the previous day - prior to when the shut downs started happening.
My question is - If I reload Leopard using the "Restore" feature of Time Machine, does that also copy any problems I had backed up in software to the reloaded system? My guess is yes, since all of my applications remain intact after the Time Machine Restore.
That said, I find Time Machine to be absolutely brilliant in its simplicity and functionality, and think it should be in every single computer user's hands.
At any rate, I'm fearing that I'm going to have to do a clean install and then reinstall all of my software manually to get a truly clean system, then restore data manually via my Time Machine backup. I hope I'm wrong.

it really does back up almost everything, even broken files. Go back to the initial backup and restore from that. If that doesn't fix it, you've got hardware problems.
Crashes are one thing, hangs another, but actual shutdowns where the computer just goes completely off really indicate hardware problems. Software by itself won't do that, even if it's broken.

Time machine restore - email problems

Hi there
I'm trying to restore email - either individual messages or folders from a local Time Machine back-up - yesterday's. I can see the mail I need to back up in the local (white coloured) snapshot listings. I click restore, the machine processes the request and then a blank screen appears in Mac Mail with 'No mailbox selected'. I've dug around in Mail and can't find the restored mail anywhere. All operating systems and versions of Mail are the same.
Any ideas? Thanks very much.

I have a hugr problem please HELP
I just updated my Q5 to BB 10.3 this morning and of course I didn't have enough space so I did a full back-up by BB Link and then wiped the device and made the back up.
after that I tried to do the restore by BB Link but it didn't work, it's gives me error as the following:
"Unable to save name
An error occurred while saving devie name. If the error persists reconnect your device and try again."
PLEASE HELP me in solving this problem !!!or how I could be back to BB 10.2 to get my data back !!

HP Data Protector Express 4.00-SP1 - Restore Selection Problem

I have archived some data out of a directory that contains rather a lot of files and now when I tried to create a restore job to recover some of the data whenever I am building the job when I have to select the file I want to recover and I navigate down the file structure to the directory that contains the files while it tries to build the list of files Data Protector just closes with no warning. Does anyone know:- why this is happening- how I can work around it to restore the data I need Also is there a way to recover the contents of a whole tape without having to go through some selection process. Data protector uses it's own agent.
Backup is working ok. Only restore causes the server to abend. It resets
without filling the abend log.

Nokia 6500s Slide Animated Wallpaper problem

Has anyone else had this problem. I have the 6500 Slide phone with version 10 rm240 firmware on it and downloaded a theme onto it which has a flash file of a clock and date on it and falling snow. Everything runs fine the snow falls on the standby wallpaper and in the screensaver until I put on the bluetooth then the trouble starts, the clock stops (seconds as well and the second hand on the analog clock) and the snow stops falling. It is almost like the bluetooth turned on is conflicting with the swf file. Anyone else experienced that or is it just with my handset? Thanks.
