FF keeps reseting GAuth Authenticator when updating. Why?

I have a permanent tab on my FF with the HTML version of Gauth Authenticator - https://github.com/gbraad/html5-google-authenticator
FF randomly resets my Gauth when updating, not always though. Also, reset my gauth just by opening and closing FF, again, not always. I've reported to the dev and he says it's a problem on your end. Can you help me solve this?

Did you make a backup of that data via the command line in the Web Console (Firefox/Tools > Web Developer) with that website open as posted in that thread?
<pre><nowiki>export = document.createElement('a');
export.setAttribute('href', 'data:text/plain;charset=utf-8,' + localStorage.getItem("accounts")); export.setAttribute('download', "gauth-export.json");
export.click();</nowiki></pre>
This code should restore the data saved in the gauth-export.json file.
<pre><nowiki>localStorage.setItem("accounts", "<paste the content of the JSON file here>");</nowiki></pre>

    Follow the steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
    There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
    Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
    Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or phobos.apple.com isn't blocked by a firewall or other Internet security setting.
    Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under "Advanced steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)" below for file locations.

    Although it's a better bet with a 2330 error, I'd try running a chkdsk over your C:\ drive (or whichever drive you've got your program files installed on).
    XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
    Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
    Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
    Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
    Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

  • My Mac keeps asking for authentication when I change things.  Why?

    When saving or making changes the MAc has since I installed Mountain Lion started telling my I can't perform those tasks without authenticating first.  How can I get rid of this annoying message?

    What changes are you making? Some changes require admin authentication and there's no way around that.

  • ITunes U Posting Dies (Bad Authentication) When Updating Metadata

    I've been trying to use the default iTunes U workflow to post recorded files to iTunes U. The upload of the files goes fine but for some reason when the pcast_post2iTunesU script gets to the bit about updating the metadata for the file I get "ERROR: pcast_updateiTunesU: Authentication to iTunes U failed." I'm positive this is part of the metadata section because I can comment it out and everything is peachy.
    Obviously my credentials are correct because I can post the files. At first I had an issue with the timestamp (can't use time.apple.com to get the computer time), but again, the posting of files works so I have to believe I'm not that far off that it would always fail on the metadata part.
    Anyone run into something similar?

    Answered my own question. Make sure you're using the main administrator credentials for your site. I had used a custom credential. Seems to work for uploading but not metadata.

  • IPhone 5 keeps resetting after ISO 7 update

    After downloading the new ISO software my phone will reset itself or turn itself off randomly

    So I just got back from the Apple Store. They ran some test on my phone and stated there was a "chip" error that was taking place. They said it might of happened when I downloaded IOS7, but could not say for sure. Now my phone was only a few months old so it fell under their warranty so they swapped out the phone with a new one. I would take your phone into Apple and exchange it out if your screen keeps freezing. Hope this helps anyone out there that might be having the same sort of issue. Almost forgot, I'm not sure what setting he went into on my phone but he pulled up the activity that showed my phone's log. If you can find this and see the word "panic" that means your chip is messed up and your phone is broke.

  • Problem of licence & reset of presets when updating your products

    Hello,
    Each time I update my subscribed applications ( After Effects, Photoshop and Lightroom ), I have to redownload and relaunch Application Manager.
    Then After Effects asks to relogin et it's ok. Same for Photoshop.
    But all presets and configurations are gone.
    For Lightroom it asks my for a serial number (the first time I bought it I had one and it works) even if I'm on subscription. And it resets all my custom develop presets, export presets etc. The catalog are ok but your udpates waste my time about each time.
    I used the Adobe reseter and cleaned everyting to start over (full uninstall / reinstall )
    I checked the hosts file
    I checked the language parameters
    Now so what ? Please advise

    Onickz then please contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care prior to updating the applications.

    You're trying to update an application that's running, perhaps in another account. Make sure you quit all apps that are to be updated. If another user is logged in under Fast User Switching or Screen Sharing, he or she must do the same.

    Boy sure what you are doing but the current iOS level is 7.1 not 7.0.4.
    You cannot update to 7.0.4.
