FI report - query on key figures

Hi all,
I need to develop a FI report where I have GL a/c in rows and period to date and year to date balances as the key figures. Report should look like:
GLa/c--Period to date balance-----year to date balance
1--1000--
2000
2--400--
1000
3--600--
For GL a/c 1 and 2, I need to display both key figures but for GL a/c 3, I only need period to date balance since it is a P&L account. Basically, for all GL accounts in my system, I need to display year to date balance but the ones in range 400000 till 999999, I need to display period to date balance, since these are P&L GLs.
How can I acheive this?
Thanks,
Nitika

For your "year to balance" key figure create a RKF and restrict GL account with exclusion of 400000 till 999999 range along with your key figure.
This should make it display 0.
Hope this helps.

  • Bex Query calc key figures in Crystal report not showing technical names.

    Hi,
I have created calculated key figures in a BEx query for which the data comes from a SAP BW cube. I have assigned each of the calculated key figures a proper technical name which I expect to see when I bring it to crystal report. When I bring that query in Crystal as a data source the calculated key figures show a wier network id names instead of the technical names. I am having a problem in using those wierd technical name in my report and my formula's as I am not able to identify what is what.
    Please urgent help requested.
    Thanks
    Mahendra

I dont have an account on such website. I will explain u the problem in detail.
When I create a calculate key figure in SAP BEx query designer I assigned a technical name to it, a meaningful one. In my case one such example is Actual_revenue is the name that i have assigned and the description is Actual revenue. When I create a crystal report from it and in that report if i create a formula.
    I get this {ZIC_COPA_Z_SALES.[Measures]-[25V1KYL4VE92X0T4OMHVYM90V]}
If u see it its a wier 25 digit name.
Instead of this I want to see
{ZIC_COPA_Z_SALES.[Measures]-[ACTUAL_REVENUE]} which is what I have given in the query. I am using the SAP BW MDX driver to connect to Bex query.

  • Cockpit report-mapping of key figures in WAD

    Hi,
I'm working on a cockpit report wich consist of several different key figures combined together and shown for various months + some planning values. The key figures come from a multitude of infoproviders (and applications). So you would have a plan value, a value month -1, a value month -2 and a value current month on the X-axis and than the different kind of key figures (for instance: financial result, costs, number of employees, absence % etc.) on the Y-axis. Hereby the number of digits can differ per  keyfigure, as well as the scaling factor, and some key figures require a %-sign.
On top of this there are several key figures that combine data from different providers (let's say: financial result divided by number of technical installations).
Now this can never be done in a query. Even the just the financial block would require key figures on both X- and Y-axis wich is not possible (and wouldn't make any sense in a logical way), not even mentioning the key figures that combine data from totally different applications. Now what I'm looking for is a way to map the query results to create the required report. If we'd only use the analyzer it wouldn't be a problem since I could put the queries on one tab and then use Excel functionality to map them to the fields and to be able to decide per cell how it should be formatted (with regard to number of digits for instance, wich can differ per cell). Since no navigation other than a selection on year/month is required this would do.
The only problem is that the client wishes to use web fucntionality. So now I'm looking for a way to do the same in the WAD. However I can't find a substitute in the WAD for the Excel functionality that is required to link query results to cells in the final report, nor to format each cell individually. My only solution (wich only solves the first problem) is one that constitutes of a large number of APD's that are used to get the query results into a DSO wich uses one key figure for al numerical info and some characteristics for the specification of the actual key figure that it represents.
First of all this solution is rather cumbersome and second, it doesn't solve my second problem (because the actual report consists of only one key figure for wich I can set the number of digits only for the entire column.
Big question is, is there anybody who has a more satisfying solution tho this problem. I'd think that there are a lot more companies that use reports that consist of key figures from different applications combined together in the way I described. However I could'nt find much on the inetrnet with concern to this matter.
By the way, I'm sorry for the poor lay out of this post, but no matter what I try, this forum ignores the use of the enter key and spaces.

    Hi Priya,
Most likely, you have too many figures to display. You need to hide or add some drilldowns (or KFs in BEx) just to leave what you want to show in graph. Then select an area in Excel and use a standard Excel functionality to show graphs.

  • Long text problem in BW query and Key figure name

    Hello
We're using SAP BO 4.0 (IDT) and SAP BW as a datasource. Maybe someone knows:
    1. How to change the name of keyfigure, which now appears as Formula 1, Formula 2 etc. In BW every single key figure has it's own name Sales, Purchases etc. What I'm missing here?
2.As you well might know every single char infoobject has it's own Long\Short\medium which now appears as an attribute. When I choose multiple Long definitions then the execution of a BEx query fails with 'Inconsistent answers'. In Universe Designer we can change the objects name, but how to proceed here. Do I need to change something on a Bex query level?
I'm well familiar with SAP BO, but due to lack of experience in SAP I'' ve hit astumbling block with these 2 things> Any assistance would be more than welcome
    Thanks in advace

    Hi,
for (1)  - that doesn't sound right...   i think your KF are calculated KF (CKF)  possibly with a formulae variable .. or something, which is supposed to populate the name, based on a user response ?
Or maybe you've got non-unique KF descriptions, and this is some system imposed nomenclature?
for (2)  i'm not so sure, but you may have to change the infoobject text setting, globally, in RSA1.   webi won't like non-unique labels if the keys are different.. How does it look with the default 'key and text' (medium) setting?
yes you can change the characteristic display properties in Bex query designer, but i have a funny feeling that it doesn't get consumed by webi over that API.  (it's native OLAP stuff for BEx really...)
    Good luck

  • Reports with only key figures?  How to layout?

    Hi anyone,
Could you kindly advise?  I have a financial report which is about 20 key figures ex. Sales, Cash discounts, Revenue from operations, Gross Margin, Operating profit and Overheads % of sales...
For each of these areas I need to have 9 seperate numerical values:
    Actual value (by month)
    Last Year value (by month):
    Budget value (by month)
Actual value ( year to date)
    % of sales (ytd)
    Last year value (ytd)
    Budget value (ytd)
    Full  yr value (full yr)
    Budget value (full yr)
This can lead to 20keyfiguresX9timeperiods = 180 numbers in the report.  As I don't have any characteristics, it seems I'll end up with a very very long row..  Has anyone experience fixing this sort of issue?

    Hi
Sorry for the earlier post for not explaining...
There are two ways you can do.
First way is meddling with the modelling....
Create 9 infoobject charecterisitcs with CHAR TYPE NUM  and feed them with the key figures timeperiods thru update rule routine......Use this 9CHAR -> fed by kfs into Cube and you can use 2 structures...as far as the system is concerned you are using one structure of kf and one for chars.......
Second way...if ur using BEx  you can think of Macros

  • Filter query on Key Figures

How can I filter a query based on Key Figures? When I use conditions, the results totals don't change. I need the results to reflect the filtered data.

    Angie,
There is no standard functionality to achieve this, but you can do it using formulas.
    To check the problem:
    E.g. You have
    Material  Qty  Value
    A           1      100
    B           2      300
    C           4      1000
    Result    7      1400
You want to be able to filter out Materials with Qty less than 2 so you are left with just Materials B and C and the result shows Qty 6, Value 1300.
    Create a formula, say 'QtyH'.
The formula detail should be: Qty > 1
This formula will display 1 for Materials B and C, Zero for Material A.
Create a second formula, say 'Qty Filtered'.
Formula detail needs to be QtyH * Qty.
Change Calculations tab to Calculate Results as Total.
This formula will display Zero for Material A, 2 for B and 4 for C.
    Result row will show 6.
    Repeat for the Value KF.
To simplify this you can actually combine the logic in 'QtyH' and 'Qty Filtered' into one Formula. See SAP Help under Defining New Queries; Defining Formulas, Boolean Operators
Also, if instead of QtyH being Qty > 1, you use a Formula Variable, you can give users the option to specify what filter level they want.
E.g. Qty > 'MyFormulaVariable' where the formula variable is created as Manual Input/Default Value.
    Hope this helps!

  • Query with key figures on separte lines

Hello bw experts.  I have a query question.  I am building a query with several structures going down the left side and I want two sets of key figures going across (jan through Dec).  That is easy but what I cannot figure out is how to get key figure 1 to be on line 1 jan through dec and key figure 2 to be on line 2 (jan through dec)  I want key figure 1 to show on the line with plan and key figure 2 to show on the line with actual
Jan  Feb  Mar  Apr  etc. etc.
    plan
    actual
Thanks in advance for any and all help
      Jim

    Hi,
When you go for the Cell Editor option, this particular scenario would be pretty easy to achieve and apart from why don't you try for putting the month field in Column and the Plan & Actual Structures in the Rows.

  • Query desginer Key Figure and Selections

    Hi,
    I have the following requirement:
    1. I have a structure in the rows part og the QD.
    2. Now, there are 5 selections created under that structure.
    3. Each selection has 2 more Key Figures added to them.
Say, it will look as follows:
    Structure
      |--Sel1
           |----
    KF1
           |----
    KF2
        |--Sel2
           |----
    KF1
           |----
    KF2
Can you give any ides how I can do this?
Edited by: anjana banerjee on May 21, 2009 9:58 AM

What is meant by selection here? If you mean selection as characteric then for your information you can only create 2 structures in QD. one for characteristc and one for KF

  • Report to Report Interface - Pass Key Figures

    Hello,
I have setup a RIR interface on a Query to jump to another query for detailed inforamtion - works perfect. The issue I am facing is,there's a particular Keyfigure value in the sender query (derived from a Cube) which does not exist in the receiver query(ODS). Is there a way to get this information across to the Receiver Query ?
    Thanks,

    Hi, Hdev.
Do you have any documentation on how the Report to Report Interface works?  If not, could you explain briefly what it is?  Much appreciated!

  • Need a help in Report for Fomula key figure

    Hi
I am doing Trial Balance report, in my report there are two Formula fields
        Net Dr  Net Cr
       100     -100
       - 200      200
The values are like this, Know what the user want is where the negative sign come that should display 0 in reports. I tried condition by takinf Net dr greater them 0 , and Net Cr greater than 0 , but its not working.
    Regards
    Shashi

    Hi,
If you want to create a formula for displaying 0 when the value is negetive, then do the following in formula:
    <b>(Net Dr <= 0) * Net Dr</b> and similarly another formula for <b>(Net Cr <= 0) * Net Cr</b>.
    Hope this helps.

  • Bex report does not display key figures

    Friends,
    Need help urgently.
We have a report of a multicube(MC1). key figures of one of the infocube(IC1) in the multicube(MC1) does not showup on the report.
If reported independly on that IC1 it does show all values. This sounds really weird but its taking up all my time.
Please friends, need your inputs on what else could have gone wrong.
FYI...earlier we had same problem but creating new report on this multicube resolved problem. But this time, we have a new KF added to the infocube(IC1). But no change to the reports are made. Even though problem occurs.  I even transported all the rules, multicube and infocube.
Please help me identify what could be the cause for it.
    -Raj

    Gupta,
    Thanks, this resolved my problem.
But here;s another issue that came up now.
I have a keyfigure (conversion factoor to EA) as attribute to master data infoobject (zmatnr). I have this included in the multicube. On the query, I have created a replacement path variable for conv. factor and this works well with all reports except this sales report which has key figures included from multicube(from multiple infocubes in muticube. Any idea what is that i am doing wrong?
    thanks

  • Exception color can not display at another key figure in BEx query desinger

I have a report requirement, the user want to display the average price on each month ,such as:
    Jan.   Feb. Mar.  Apr. etc.
    100    105    104   95   ....
and the user want to compare each other months with Jan's price.
they want to display the exception color when the rise or down rate greater or less than 5%.
Now ,I can only change the output structure such as:
Jan.  Feb. Rate2-1                 Mar.  Rate3-1                 etc.
    100   105   (105-100)/100=5%  104    (104-100)/100=4%  ....
Now I can set Exception on the formula Rate2-1 Rate3-1....
But the Exception color can only display on Rate2-1,Rate3-1...
and Not the Keyfigure Feb. Mar...
I am using the BI 7.0 and the new Query Designer.
Who can help me to solve this question .
    Thanks.

    Hi,
its simply not supported for BEx Analyzer. Exception reporting on another key figure is only possible for Web Reporting.
Check this actual SAP Help Link:

Please how can I get  this cumulated valued in a webi report ?? because in spite of mark this flag in our bex query  when I run  this characteristic in my webi report  it doesnt work.  Perphaps there is a function in webi or there is a proporty to modify in my universe??

  • Report Painter - Characteristic cannot be combined with key figures

    Hi,
I have added a new field (ZZABTEI) to the report structure CCSS and using that field as a characteristic in the report. But when I execute the report, it is giving the error "Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures". Can anyone help me to solve this issue.
    Thank you,
    Rekha

There no code for this. I had to add the new field to CCSS structure. Then there were some configuration to be done. Then this message is got when the report in the report painter is executed. The details of this error message is as follows :
Characteristic ZZABTEI cannot be combined with key figures
    Message no. GR410
    Diagnosis
Characteristic ZZABTEI is being used in a report with a key figure that does not match this characteristic.
    System Response
    The system cancels generation.
    Procedure
Check the report definition: the key figures used must be compatible with characteristic ZZABTEI. For examples of useful combinations of characteristics and key figures, see the SAP standard reports.
Technical explanation: The Report Writer table assigned to the report is defined as a view with multiple database tables (somewhat similar to Report Writer table CCSS) and a key figure used in the report refers to a database table which does not contain characteristic ZZABTEI.
Example 1 for table CCSS: If the 'cost' or 'quantity' key figures are used in a report (referring to tables COSP and COSS), you cannot use the 'Statistical key figure' (only occurs in table COSR) characteristic in the rows. On the contrary, using the 'Cost element' (tables COSP and COSS) characteristic is not permitted for the 'Statistical quantity' (table COSR) key figure.
Example 2 for table CCSS: If a report only displays line item data (key figures IE... or PE...), you cannot use the 'PERBL' characteristic, because it is only valid for summary data. You have to use the 'PERIO' characteristic for line item data.
    Thank you,
    Rekha
