Field catalog restriction with the selection screen input

Hi,
I am doing ALV grid report.In that I am facing problem,fieldcat has to display according to the input given in the selection screen.
my selection screen value is s_gstrp+4(2) that is month given inthe input.

       In my program i have given the input in selection screen , Its process something and a msg was displayed , and user confirm it to continue , the program take us back to the selection screen - in this case i have to clear all the values from the selection parameters.
I tried lot , but i didn't get this result.
I know this is the standard functionality , But anything is there to clear the selection parameters.

I didn't go through the long list of replies nor I don't know if you gave it a thought, but you can try this,
create a [system variant|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c0/980389e58611d194cc00a0c94260a5/content.htm] (variant name starts with CUS& eg: CUS&BLANK) with the entire selection screen fields blanks and use the following function module to call that variant after msg is displayed.
CALL FUNCTION 'RS_SUPPORT_SELECTIONS'

            variant              = 'CUS&BLANK'
       EXCEPTIONS

You can hide the variant by checking the box "Only display in catalog".

Splitting the date based on the selection screen input

Hi all,
In the Selection screen of my report i had maintained two fields
SELECT-OPTIONS : S_DATE    FOR TPCDATE-FROM_DATE.
PARAMETERS      : P_NUMBER TYPE ZMMAREA-NUMBER.
I need to code such that
S_DATE should be splitted into P_NUMBER times
for example if P_NUMBER is 4 i need S_DATE should be splitted into 4 equal parts or near by equal parts
                    IF P_NUMBER is 2 i need S_DATE should be splitted into 2 equal parts or near by equal parts
Please suggest me the code of if any Function module exists fot this date splitting

though date question are not allowed, this requirement sounds little different.
you can take a difference between those days by: S_date-high - S_date-low.
then divide the difference by p_number. now you get the split positions.
now in a do enddo you can negate the dates by the split amount you got from the divisions.
like...
PARAMETERS: num type i.
select-OPTIONS: s_date for sy-datum.
data : gv_split type i, gv_temp type sy-datum.
gv_split = s_date-high - s_date-low.
gv_split = gv_split / num.
gv_temp = s_date-high.
do num times.

A field is missing in the selection screen.

Hi,
I could find a field in the default screen of the report(in SE80) however there is no such field on the selection screen when I execute the program. What would be the reason?
Any guesses?
Note:The field is not in hide mode.

This is simply not possible. The only possiblity must be NO-Display as santosh pointed out.
Or , the screen that you are thinking as default, may not be the default screen.
Or, It may be commented..[:)]...Just kidding..:)

Problem with the selection screen in submit program

i am facing the problem wih the selection screen in submit program. in my Module pool program i am using the submit program statement, When i execute the program , The module program display the submit program selections creen.
I have implemented the code same as below.
submit ztest with tknum =p_tknum and return.
Can you pleaes help me how to avoid the submit program selection screen.

Hi Charan,
You have to give the selection screen values when you submit a job.
Press F1 on submit and you will see more details.

I have tried with the Transaction Variant. It works but I want to make display only for the version,Starting and closing period and Year. Other fields should be open for input(Cost Element and WBS element)
But the transaction variant is making DISPLAY ONLY for all the fields.
Please tell me a suggestion how I could achieve it.

In the selection screen input field
there is an option of selecting the directory and file name and not the extension .
This is used to download the datas
Extension can be selected by using the option button
rtf
csv.
the user has to give only the filename and not the extension.
suppose if the user input is C:\temp\file1.rtf.
Either i should take only the filename
or i should display the message give only the filename and not the extension . its already been selected!!!!
I want to compare the input string contains .doc
how to do the comparison and to get the above results mentiond

I have a requirement.
Assume there is a report on travel details. Report access has been given to all in the organization based on authorization level.
Before excecuting the report, in the selection-screen(input screen) itself I need to display the login user details.
suppose user A belongs to ITS-business unit and user B-belongs to RDS-business unit and Industry group-Multi markets.
so when User B logs into production system and try to access the report, in the selection screen, i need to display like
user-id-- XXXX          Business Unit---RDS             and IG -
Multi Markets
how to achieve this? User details will vary based on login.

The selection screen cannot choose the multiple values at first instance?

   I have 2 select-options on the selection screen as follows>>
SELECT-OPTIONS :
                   s_subusr FOR pa0105-usrid NO INTERVALS OBLIGATORY,
                  s_period FOR vbak-erdat   NO-EXTENSION OBLIGATORY.
When I try to enter multiple values by clicking the multiple option button when noting is entered as input on the selection screen.I get a error"Make entry in all required fields".
But when I enter a value on the selection screen input for s_subusr and then enter value in s_period and then click on multiple option button I am able to see the multi-option Popup.Now I can enter multiple Values.
Please can anyone help me to enter the values on the multiple option Pop-up whenever the user want?

OBLIGATORY means you have to enter the values , with out filling that values and if you click any thing it will show an error message saying that fill alla required fields
so if you want you can remove that
or if you want to keep that OBLIGATORY then fill some values 1st in that select-options and clcik on multiple entries button then it won't show any error

Is there a way to use 'GET PERNR' without the selection screens?

I would like to use the GET PERNR event in a batch program without using the default selection screens. I would like to be able to use my own selection screen and parameters, but only get them along with the default selection options for payroll period. I've tried removing the screen number from the attributes screen, but still get these options. Is this possible?

report Category is a Pushbutton on the Attributes popup, it only appears if you use PNP logical DB.
this is from SAPHelp: "Report Category
Category used for HR reports that use the PNP logical database. It controls the type and number of fields that appear on the selection screen of an evaluation report."

now the problem is when i am giving the action type as Z0 ,the data to be extracted is not getting filtered
based upon the action type ,the data consists the records having different action types other than Z0

but my question is when am using get pernr event my data is not getting filtered with the selection screen paramater value
i,e m giving action type as only hiring ,but m getting the data for all the action types ,its not filtering based upon my selection

Auto-populating the selection screen parameters for web report

hello
i am having a scenario where my web report is a link to another internet application (a BSP application) and it is called by clicking some link or button on the BSP page.
can i pass the selection values for BW Web report directly from BSP application through a query string or by setting some cookie values so that the user will directly view the report on click of that link?

we can do this by adding a URL as the query-string with web template_id and with the selection screen parameters as key value pairs
