Field seperator in excel sheet.

Hi experts,
              I am using GUI_DOWNLOAD to populate fields from internal table into excel sheet. I need to seperate the fields with ~ symbol. How should i do this?

    Just uncomment the Export parameter write_field_seperator with ' ' blanck space, in GUI_DOWNLOAD FM.

    I need help. I am writing on my diploma thesis.Main topic is to develop a visualization of a process of a process plant which is used for an internship in uni. My meain problem is that I need a vi where I can save my fieldpoint data only in special cycles. At the moment I use a vi which can only save every second in form of a while loop and a metronom. I am searching for a vi where I can choose the time between every saving step in excel. In addition to that I would like to have a boolean button where i can start/stop the saving within running process.

    the answer
    for your problem is called “Software Control Timing”.
    If a
    desired time has elapsed, you can write data’s to a file.
    The explicit
    timing is the timing for your while loop, e.g. 10ms.
    If a
    desired time has elapsed, you get a flag from a timing-function and an
    additional block of your code (e.g. a subVI) will executed.
    The set
    time for the timing function is settable dynamically, while your program is
    running.
    Find the VI
    in the attachment, which will provide this functionality for you.

    Hi All,
    There is a program which generates the excel sheet from an ALV report. I want certain fields in the excel sheet to be in large bold font.

    Steps to create a BDC program.
    1. Create an internal table with fields same as Excel sheet fields.
    2. Declare an internal table with BDCDATA table to store the BDC recording.
    3. Declare an internal table with BDCMSGCOL to store the error messages after
    the execution of the BDC.
    4. Write the code using the fun. module ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE
    to upload the data from the excel sheet.
    5. loop that internal table and write the Subroutines to fill the internal table
    BDCDATA with the recording of a specified Transaction Code.
    6. Using Call Transaction execute the BDC recording.
    7. Check Sy-subrc = 0 and store the error messages in the internal table.
    8. If you want you can pass those error records to a session using the SESSION method.
    Here is an example of a BDC program, but this program is from a text file. Change the function module WS_UPLOAD with ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE
    to upload an excel and write the program with your BDC recording. You can do recording using t-code SHDB.

    To simply load Excel to Internal table follow this :
    First of all , before you move your data from excel sheet to the internal table, you need to specify a location for uploading the excel sheet into your internal table.
    for this u need to use two specific FM's .
    the first one for file selection : WS_FILENAME_GET.
    The second one for data upload : TEXT_CONVERT_XLS_TO_SAP.
    After doing this the regular part of mapping comes and then we can run the session and then execute and release it.

  • How to transfer data more than 255 char from excel sheet to internal table.

    Hello Experts,
    I have a requirement where i have a text field in the excel sheet of more than 255 char and need to be updated in the text element. To do that i need to transfer the excel sheet data to an internal table where one of the field is more than 255 char.
    in the standard function module it works only upto 255 char. Can you help me if we have some other way to get more than 255 char in the internal table from excel sheet.

    Using .xls, it is not possible transfer data more than 255 characters from excel sheet. However if the excel sheet is saved as Comma Delimited format or Tab Delimited format, then using GUI_DOWNLOAD function module data more than 255 characters can be transferred.
    File name should be : .csv (Comma Delimited format)  or .txt (Tab Delimited format)
    File Type would still remain 'ASC' while calling function module GUI_DOWNLOAD
    Also In the internal table declare the field type as String or LCHAR.
    Eg:
    TYPES: begin of ty_file,
            col_a TYPE string,
          end of ty_file.

  • Issue in displaying DATE field in Excel sheet

    Hi All,
    Kindly help me with the below issue:
    A report program when exexuted fetches the data's from database tables and populates in to an itab and the same is then moved to a itab which is declared like this:

    This T_DOWND will have all the obtained records and the same is used to pass the entries to GUI_DOWNLOAD function module inorder to save the excel sheet in '.csv' format to the desktop.
    The issue is the user wants the 'DATE' field to be displayed in 'DD-MM-YYYY' format in the excel sheet. So I have fetched the date based on the position(fdpos) and used the concatenate statement separated by '-'. Now when I run the program, some dates are not getting displayed in 'DD-MM-YYYY' format and some dates are getting displayed correctly as per the requirement.
    While debugging also, I could find the date value in T_DOWND in the 'DD-MM-YYYY' format only. Not sure where it is actually getting changed and why.
    Can some one please provide a soultion for this.

    I declared a constant in the below format for the quotes:
    constants : c_quotes type c value ''''. (i have put 4 quotes)
    Now i have concatenated the above quotes to my date value.
    But the output in the excel sheet is now getting displayed like this '30-02-2011
    All the dates are getting displayed in the correct expected format, but the only issue is we are getting an extra quotes in front of the date.
    Can you please suggest why this is happening.

  • Uploading field from excel sheet only of length 4 into SAP Table

    Dear Friend,
    I want to upload fields like Compny Code & Business Area of length 4 characters into SAP Tables. But in the excel sheet at some places Co Code & Business Area of length less than 4 characters is maintained which I want to ignore ie. those items should not be updated into the tables.

      There is no way you can validate the fields and their lengths before you ipload them into internal tables.
    First you should upload them and then loop the intrenal table to delete such records.

    I am sending excel sheet through email. I have data in internal table which i move to the email internal table and data is been sent via email using a excel sheet.
    Now, when I open the excel sheet, i see that all fields get displayed but the last field is shown as too much length meaning field length is 15 chars but in excel sheet it shows as almost 40 - 50 chars.

    Decalre one more field in your internal table ,which should be last field.
    and do not pass header for this field and just pass the empty value to this field.

  • Field names are not getting into excel sheet while download

    I am using gui_download fm to download internal table data to excel sheet.
    have passed fieldnames parameter also.
    defined each column with char type and length of those descriptions also.
    but while downloading only first column description is getting.

  • Downloading PO's into excel sheet?

    Hello All!
    I am trying to download the po's into excel sheet through a programm. In this regard i would like to know the procedure for that.
    Presently my plan is to collect all the fields into two internal tables (one for header and another for item data).Now how to append the two internal table into a single itab. I want to use this itab in gui_download funtion module!
    Am i doing right. If i am going wrong plz guide me.

  • Unable to download the data perfectly into excel sheet

    Hi Frnds,
    when i am trying to download the data from the output of a report into excel, some of the records(line items/rows) are getting stored in one of column of the excel sheet. Fog eg: my report outputs 500 line items. In excel after 100 rows the next 5-10 records/rows are storing in one column. so at the end of excel sheet i may not find total 500 records/line items.
    Plz suggest me how to handle this.
