File contains spaces

Hi,
  We have SAP running on Windows NT server. I am generating a file to SAP application server. The file that is generated is a DMEE format tree (tcode DMEE) output file.
When viewing the file in AL11, it looks like this.

There are the these extra "#" in the bank. This is what gets send to the bank.

Did you program that yourself? If yes, is it a Unicode system? If yes, check your "open dataset" directive (you must do something like "...in legacy text mode...".

    the variable path will contain

    if the folder name or file name contains space in between, the word document will not open.It gives an error saying
    trying to open C:\My\ couldn't find the file.
    otherwise(if folder or file name doesn't contain space) it works fine.
    So how do i overcome this problem?

    Just a guess, but since it's based on the file protocol, you could try replacing the spaces in the path variable with %20%

  • WebDAV problem - cannot see directories/files with space in filename

    Using latest OS x 10.4.6 and can access my company's Sharepoint server via WebDAV.
    However I only see folders/files that have no space in the filename - this is a major showstopper as I obviously cannot impose on rest of company how to name files.
    PS: I can access this Sharepoint site via a webbrowser but I cannot easily upload/download files in the browser interface. Actually upload does not work in Safari (endless timeout) but it does work in firefox
    PPS: Tried DAVExplorer and it could not even access the sharepoint site.

    I am connecting to an external WebDav server - Sharepoint 2001/2003. As per above SP 2003 and OSX as client create all the troubles listed above..
    Note: I compared console.log from my Sp2001 connections and SP2003 connections. Connecting to SP3 and gtrying to access a WebDav folder with directoriers/files containing spaces I see all kind of errors in console.log - see below.
    Any comments?

  • Problem launching Firefox from Windows with file path that contains space characters in the html file's file name

    We have a software application that programmatically launches the default web browser using the Windows shell execute function ("ShellExecuteA" in the "shell32.dll" library of the Windows API) along with a file path for a saved local html file that is to be displayed. In the case that FireFox is the default browser and the file path for the html file contains any space characters in the html file's file name, Firefox (in this case v7.01) will display an error message "File not Found..." and then will also proceed to open tabs for each of the individual words in the file name, launching as the URL path, each individual word appended to ".com".
    In the following example, the path "C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\Kansas Secretary of State - Filings and Forms.htm" when launched programmatically, resulted in the error message "File not Found...Firefox can't find the file at /C:/KSSecOfState/Forms/Kansas." and opened up browser windows for "http://www.secretary.com/", "http://www.of.com/", "http://www.state.com/", "http://www.and.com/", and attempted to launch "http://forms.htm". If the same file (renamed) is launched using the path string "C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\KansasSecretaryOfState-FilingsAndForms.htm" the file opens up correctly in Firefox. Clearly the presence of spaces in the file name is causing the problem.
    I should also note that either path (with or without space characters) works properly if pasted directly into the Firefox URL path menu bar for a live instance of Firefox. The test path strings I used were:
    C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\KansasSecretaryOfState-FilingsAndForms.htm
    C:\KSSecOfState\Forms\Kansas Secretary of State - Filings and Forms.htm
    Does anyone know anything about this problem or how to work around it (other than the obvious answer of taking the spaces out of the file name which is not possible for this application). It seems the problem is specific to Firefox. IE works properly if launched programmatically with spaces in the file name passed to it. I haven't tested other browsers yet.

  • RWRUN60: Problem with parameter value containing space between single quote

    I'm using RWRUN60 to generate my report by following way:

    When I tried to run given command above nothing was executed executed and any log didnt created.
    I found out that problem occurs when text between two single quotes contains spaces. In my case it is a parameter P_WHERE. I need to keep such format because it is part of report query.
    When I removed last parameter from command RWRUN60 successfully genereate pdf document.
    Further I added new test parameter P_TEST(it is ignored by rdf) in the end of command line following:
    P_TEST="test '11'" - rwrun60 generates report
    P_TEST="test '1 1'" - rwrun60 doesn't; generate report
    Can somebody help how to resolve given problem. Is it parsing bug or what else?

    Spaces on command lines a very often a bad idea. Get rid of them by changing the command, e.g.:
    to_date('2011-07-14:10-37-00','YYYY-MM-DD:HH24-MI-SS')

    2) Yesterday I made the subclips with the In-Out Points and Command-U, the benefit is that I've seen the clip before naming it. Now I'm using markers, it's benefit is that I can write comment and (the later) clip name at once, the drawback is that I have to view to the next shot's beginning before knowing what the shot contains.
    But now I found out that I can reconnect my clips independently to the format I converted the master clip to. I reconnected the media to the original AVI file and it worked, too! The more I work with, the more I'm sold on it... - although it doesn't seem to be able to read and use the date information within the DV AVI.
    1) Ok, I tried something similar within FCE. Just worked, but the file size still remains. Which codec settings should I use? Is the export to DV in MOV with a quality of 75% acceptable for both file size and quality? Or would be encoding as H.264 with best quality an option for archiving, knowing that I have to convert it back to DV if I (maybe) wan't to use it for editing later? Or anything else?

  • Hyperlinks in word containing spaces are cut off in pdf generation

    We are using a mix of MS Word 2003, 2007 and 2010. All are experiencing the same problem when using Adobe products (Abobe Acrobat Pro 9, Adobe X, Adobe Elements) for the generation of a pdf document with respect to hyperlinks.
    When we have hyperlinks containing "spaces" they will get cut off in the resulting pdf document.
    Examples have formatting like this in Word

    When we convert this in Adobe it cuts off the link after encountering the first space, like this
    http://team.eu.enet/XXX/Master (on the face of it the whole line looks like the one above, but the hyperlink shown when hovering over it has been cut like shown)
    In some cases the spaces are replaced with %20 (IE for example replaces spaces with these characters automatically). For those cases the conversion works just fine, and the whole line is maintained as a hyperlink also in the pdf

    When we use the Save as function in Word 2007/2010 this replacement is done automatically. the links in the "word generated pdf" are not containing spaces,
    Is there any way to get this replacement done automatically when converting hyperlinks from Word to PDF? Repairing the links afterwards (which is possible, I know) is not a viable option when you have many such links in a word file.

    Sort answer: Use proper syntax and do not use the "space" character in any URL.
    "20" is hex for the space character (which is a "reserved" character in that it may have special meaning).
    If used out of context being "reserved" applications have to make something of a guess.
    Success is the %20. Sometimes success is not had.
    So, again, proper syntax - no "space" character in a URL (use the underscore).

  • Spool filename that contains spaces

    Hi Folks,
    Does anyone know a technique for creating spool files that
    contain spaces in the path name?
    I have a script that I want to pass in a directory path as a
    parameter. The script then uses this directory as the path for
    dynamically created scripts which are run later in the main
    script, but SQL*Plus won't allow spaces in the path name.
    e.g.
    myScript.sql
    DEFINE P_DIR = '&1'
    SPOOL &P_DIR.script1.sql
    -- Dynamic SQL statements
    SPOOL OFF
    @&P_DIR.script1.sql
    Called by plus80 @myScript 'C:\Documents and Setting\andy\'
    I've tried various combinations of single and double quotes
    around the variable references and even tried a HOST cd &P_DIR
    command, all to no avail. I'm sure I've seen this done
    somewhere before.
    BTW Using a batch file is not a possible solution :(

  • Problem with path (which contain spaces)

    Im having problems when I use getAbsolutePath() method when the path contains spaces, like "c:\Program Files"
    my app have a different behavior if its installed in a path like C:\myApp\
    The troubles occurs when I try to create a directory and create a new file in that directory, if path doesn´t contains spaces works fine.
    Any idea?

    AIX 5.2
    PROD
    I have dropped many big tables after moving on another database, what i thought it will free the space of the disk because right now there is no provision to extend the disk size and disk size have already occupied 90%. I dropped tables which had 150 GB total size but when i am trying to resize the datafiles it is giving below error whereas that datafile has free space ( example: free space 8000mb and total size 20000mb of that file i tried to resize it to 14000mb it is giving below error)
    I tired the same for many datafiles for a particular tablespace all datafiles are giving same error except one of them.

    ThanksThis error occurs when some object has blocks "adjacent" to the High Water Mark.
    In order to RESIZE, the object needs to be identified & then moved;
    preferably to a different tablespace.
    After do so you can RESIZE at least a modest amount.

  • HT2531 Finder / Spotlight not finding files "containing ......."

    I have a file named with a persons name and i have multiple files containing that same name, however when i search for that name i only get the file named with that name, not files containing that name. Very annoying, any suggestions, it used to work until I ran low on disc space, I since freed space but it still does not work

    As baltwo eventually explained, you have to add the search criteria "System files" to your search, with the option "Include" selected, to find many items Spotlight otherwise excludes from search results. Alternately (& quite ridiculously), if your search is restricted to the parent folder containing the item, you don't need to add this.
    For example, if you open /Library in the Finder, enter "Desktop Pictures" in the search box, you won't get it in the results with the default "This Mac" location, but if you click "Library" for the location, you will. (Yes, many users think this is bizarre, "what were they thinking?" behavior.)
    What Spotlight considers "system files" is only slightly less bizarre, as you will probably discover once you start using it to broaden searches. For instance, Safari history items & Mail.app messages are not found unless you include system files, but many files like C Header Source files (in System/Library/Frameworks) are found without including system files in the search.
    When it was introduced in Tiger, Spotlight was supposed to be a next-generation search engine, capable of accurately guessing what you were looking for (& filtering out what you weren't) with near-sentient intelligence. I think almost anyone who used that version will agree it did not achieve that lofty goal. Apple apparently agreed, or at least listened to the complaints enough to realize it needed rethinking. Unfortunately, what its designers came up with for the Leopard rethink feels like an early beta version, full of hastily implemented, quirky features that never got sorted out before it was released.
    We can only hope that we won't have to wait for OS 10.6 for a more mature, less quirky version.

    I am trying to rezise a datafile and getting the ORA-3297 error.
    From the dynamic views i verified that there is more than 10GB of freespace in INDEX_TB tablesapce which contains only one datafile whose present size is > 19 GB
    alter database datafile '/data/oracle/oradata/testdb/INDEX_TB.dbf' resize 17G;
    ORA-3297:file contains used data beyond requested resize value.Oracle 10.1.0 on AIX 5.3
    Details are below,

    How do i find the high water mark of the datafile?

    Here i got an odd situation. According to the dynamic views there are 56 or 60 % are free in DATA_TB & INDEX_TB tablespace.
    But sql from Doc 130866.1 gives the output as below. I tried coalesce tablespace but no effect.

    Can not be resized, no free space at end of file.

    Some days ago I noticed that tab-completion doesn't work any more on files and directories that contain spaces. I'm pretty sure that it has. I'm using bash (3.1.17-1). I don't know when this happened, but my suspicion is that it is related to the upgrade to readline 5.2. Has anyone else experienced this? (Maybe someone can be a bit more specific than I )

    In bug report somebody mentioned that he recompiled bash against current readline without success in resolving the issue (so did slubman a moment ago). I think that's rather bash itself  or bash/readline (not likely since new bash works properly) problem.

  • Terminal command to move multiple files containing certain text

    Hi all.
    Still new to mac so I'm hoping for a softly softly approach.
    I have over 300GB of SD versions of HD content just taking up space on my iTunes drive. Now, I realise backing up such a large amount of data is going to need yet another drive (or a huge amount of DVDs!), and at the moment isn't urgent but could be at this rate. I have been trying to use the cp comand to copy all files containing (HD) in the filename into a subfolder so I can easily separate then select the SD versions to backup/delete as needed. I would replace cp with mv once I got it working. However, since the terminal appears to work differently to Windows Command Prompt I've been having difficulty with the wildcards.
    How would I write the following:
    copy all m4v files in [this directory] that contain (HD) in the filename to [new directory]
    I tried
    cp *(HD).m4v
    cp * (HD).m4v
    cp *" (HD)".m4v
    and many other permutations but they all kept coming up with no such file or directory errors. Any help appreciated.
    edit: would there be a way of writing it as: copy all m4v files in [this directory] that do not contain (HD) in the filename to [new directory]

    I find this terminal stuff interesting but also annoying as a newbie trying to get his head around it.
    That's where making it a script simplifies it.
    Try:
    Open TextEdit (Applications->TextEdit) and then: Format->Make Plain Text
    Then copy the code below (edit to suit your needs) and paste in TextEdit and save as AnyNameYouWant.command on the Desktop (you can move it anywhere you want later)
    #!/bin/bash
    find /Volumes/Videos/TV\ Shows/The\ West\ Wing/ -not -name '*(HD).m4v' -exec mv {} /Volumes/Videos/TV\ Shows/The\ West\ Wing/sdversions/  \;
    Now, open Terminal (Applications->Utilities), and make AnyNameYouWant.command executable by entering:
    chmod u+x Desktop/AnyNameYouWant.command
    Now you can just "click" AnyNameYouWant.command on the Desktop to run.
