If each record type starts with a key, and it looks like they do, it shouldn't matter what order they are in.
In the recordset structure just make sure both of those are set like: Record1,,Record2,
Set the recordset sequence to variable.
Fill in the key field name and type, and then use the keyFieldValue parameter below.
Record1.keyFieldValue PO1
Record2.keyFieldValue PID

Need help in file content conversion complex structure
Hi Guys ,
Iam new to this file content conversion , Please let me know whether below requirement is possible .if yes than how ?
Inbound XML file from Proxy

<field2>testfield2</field2>
<field3>0002</field3>
output pgp flat file .
pgp file format should be as below after file content conversion

0011|0012|0013|Testfield1||||||
0011|0012|0013|0001||||||
0021|0022|0023|Test2||||||
0011|0012|0013|Testfield2||||||
0011|0012|0013|0002||||||
thanks a lot .

PrabhuHi.
Try this.
First you need to use a message mapping and create a target structure to convert a similar output structure that do you want. like this
<Target>
-- Field1
-- Field2
-- Field3
-- Field4
-- Field5
-- Field6
-- Field7
-- Field8
-- Field9
</Target>.
Then map
keyfield1-> Field 1 ,keyfield2-> Field 2 , keyfield 3---> Field 3
map field1-> field4 .. for the others fields duplicate the Target node (right click) and map map field2-> field5 ..etc.
For the field 5 until field 9 map with constant ("'')
Then in you receiver comunication channel put simple parameters.
Target.fieldSeparator = |
Target.endSeparator = 'nl'

File Content Conversion - Recordset Structure required??
Hi,
I have a File Sender Communication Channel (CC) to convert very simple csv format to XI data type (XML).
The contect of csv file will look something like this and will always have one line per file.
111,222,333,444,555
And I have defined the Data Type/Message Type with 5 fields as follows:
Sender_DT
---F1
---F2
---F3
---F4
---F5
Assuming that I'll always get one line of data in a csv file, I don't really need to set Recordset Structure in Content Conversion Paramters of File Sender CC but it is required parameter so you can't save it without populating this parameter.
I understand that I can add a recordset to my DT so that it will look like below and type in Recordset in the Recordset Structure parameter but wanted to see if there is any other way to go around this without adding Recordset to DT.
Sender_DT
---Recordset
F1
F2
F3
F4
F5
Thanks,
JayHi Jay,
You are correct. You can't have a struct like
DT_SOURCE
--F1
--F2
--F3
You need another node with in DT_SOURCE like recordset
DT_SOURCE
-Recordset
--F1
--F2
--F3
If you don't get multiple lines in source file, you can simpl set the Recordset occurance to 1..1 but it is mandatory.

File Content Conversion : Recordset Structure with * not reading file
Hallo all,
we have the following problem.
we implemented a scenario as sown in this blog
/people/venkat.donela/blog/2005/06/08/how-to-send-a-flat-file-with-various-field-lengths-and-variable-substructures-to-xi-30
but there is a problem.
If the file structure is declared as :
Header,1,Items,*
then the adapter does not even read the file from the directory (so I assume that for some reason the file structure is not as expected).
If on the other had the structured is declared as :
Header,1,Items,3
everything works.
Obviously though, this is not satisfying since we need variable cardinalities.
Here is an example :
I have a specific file in a standard directory, called xi_input.
The file is edited straight into that directory, so there can't be filename errors etc.
If the file is left empty :
Nothing happens . No message of any kind in sxmb_moni/monitoring xml messages .
If the file contains the following (data is random) , where 'H' is the key for the header and 'I' is the key for the items :
H 20060403 16 3 316001 kapou lalla morellala 20060403 F3 23
I 277101010 2
I 277101011 3
I 277101012 4
There are to cases :
if the file structure is declared as :
Header,1,Items,*
Then nothing happens .
If on the other had the structured is declared as :
Header,1,Items,3
everything works .
Any suggestions and help is appreciated
Thank you .Actually yes, there is an error message :

Issue w/ File content conversion (Receiver side)
Folks, there seems to be an issue with the conversion. I've read several of threads on this forum, but none helped! Although the file is generated with 8 bytes there seems to be nothing in the file.
However when 'File' message protocol is used, the xml file is generated correctly as expected. All my other settings are fine.
Here is the scenario:
1) created Message type -
MTX
..Material
..BaseUnit
..MatGrp
..Division
2) comm. channel created for -
Transport protocol: File (NFS)
Message protocol: File content conversion
Recordset Structure: MTX
parameters:
MTX.fieldSeparator: ,
MTX.endSeparator: 'nl'
Should recordset struc. and parameters have 'ns0' prefix, i.e.,
Recordset Structure: ns0:MTX
parameters:
ns0:MTX.fieldSeparator: ,
ns0:MTX.endSeparator: 'nl'
What esle is missing? any thoughts are welcome.
Thanks and appreciate your responses.Hi ABAP JUNOON,
Could you please create another Test scenario and
try
MTI_XXX
- DATA(0..unbounded)
- fields?
i mean, without redundant RS(Record Structure).
and use
Transport protocol: File (NFS)
Message protocol: File content conversion
Recordset Structure: DATA.
it will written the complete output file.
some people create the Reciver data type for test scenario's as follows.
MTI_XXX
-RS
- DATA(0..unbounded)
- fields?
i mean with redundant RS
in this case file is generated, but nothing will be appear.
so plz take care while creating the reciver data type with FCC.
and the following case also will work i.e
MTI_XXX
-RS
-Header(0,1)
- fields?
- DATA(0..unbounded)
- fields?
- Trailer(0,1)
- fields?

I have given below parameters in recever file adapter (file content conversion)
Recordset Structure : item

item.fieldSeparator: , (comma)
i am getting first two digits in my output file: that file has only first two digits that is : 65
may i know how hould i define file contente conversion recever adapter to get proper data in file adapter.

Receiver File content conversion with nested structure
Hi Guys,
I have the below nested structure and have to convert it using receiver file content conversion.
<Header> [o, unbounded]
<A>a</A>
<B>b</B>
</Header>
<record> [0, unbounded]
<field1>
<X1>x</X1>
<Y1>y</Y1>
</field1>
<field2>
<X2>x</X2>
<Y2>y</Y2>
</field2>
</record>
The file is a comma separated one. Please let me know how to configure the content conversion.
ThanksHi Mukesh,
Have a look at the Shabz's blog for the receiver File content conversion : File Adapter (Receiver) - Are we "really" sure about the concepts?

File Content Conversion - Creating Mulitple structured Flat Files
Hello,
I am trying to create a flat file using File content Conversion.For simple XML strcutures like
<Header>
</Header>
<Item>
</Item>
<Trailer>
</Trailer>
the file content conversion works fine. But whe the XML structure gets complicated like
<Header>
</Header>
<Item>
<Item_Detail>
</Item_Detail>
</Item>
<Trailer>
</Trailer>
or
<Header>
</Header>
<Item>
<Item_Detail_1>
<Item_Detail_2>
</Item_Detail_2>
</Item_Detail_1>
</Item>
<Trailer>
</Trailer>
I am not able to create the correct flat file with the Item_Detail information.How can I do the same ?

File content conversion for file with hierarchical structure
Hi
I want to read a flat file in the following message structure using file content conversion.
Message structure is :
01 ( occurence = 1)
_ 1B (occurence = unbounded)
_ 1G (occurence = unbounded)
_1H (occurence = 1)
_1N ( occurence = unbounded)
99 (occurence = 1, trailer record)
In short there will be one 01 ( header record) in file. There will multiple 1B records. Under one 1B record there will multiple 1G records. Under each 1G record there will be one 1H recoprd and multiple 1N record. At the end there will one 99 record.
File format : Fixed length
Data in the text file would be as follows :
01Test
1BF0001MS005 4855390859
1GF000172075F31501 GBPINV 040806

1NF011172075F0021MS0056540003ICOMSIEARCA
99002187004855390859
Is it possible to do above using file content conversion or is there any method to do it. Please suggest.
Thanks
Varunyou cant acheive this heirarchy using the file adapters cont. conv, cos it supports only to a single level.
Maybe you can have a module or use the conversion agent !!
Some good reads on the Conv. agent!!!

File Content Conversion for Multi Hierarchical Structure for Sender Adapter
Hi Gurus,
My text file is coming as
Header,filed1,field2(Occurrence=1)
Content,field3,field4(Occurrence =1-Unbounded)
Detail,field4,field5(Occurrence = 1-unbounded)
Trailer,fieldN(Occurrence=1)
My requirement is to write a file content conversion, so that, in the resultant XML Structure the Detail will come under Content.
I have defined the Record Set Structure as
Header,1,Content,*,Detail,*,Trailer,1
But after FCC, the Detailed record is coming in the same level as the Content Record. But the business requires that, the Detailed Record should come under Content Record, so that they can correlate.
Could any one advise?
Regards,
SS

Please use the below parameters -
○ NameA.keyFieldValue
Specify the value of the key field for the structure.
This entry is mandatory if the key field name is set. Otherwise, the entry is ignored.
NameA.keyFieldInStructure
■ If the key field of the substructure is to be added to the XML document, enter add. This is the default.
■ If the key field is to be ignored, enter ignore.

I can see that.
The number of characters in the file for TABLE2 is lesser then the number of field size given.
for eg. if the table2 fixed field length sum is 20 ,your file contains only 10 characters. Please give complete data for table2

File Content Conversion for complex structure
Hi
I have a requirement to repeat a structure consisting of three lines i.e the segment containing these 3 lines will have occurrence 0....unbounded and will be repeated in the File multiple times ,
What is the level that can be handled in File Content Conversion's recordset structure ?
My issue is that the structure is
Dt_File -> Repeating Level1->Level2 ->Field1
->Level2a->Field3
-> Level2b->Field5
where the first level is DT_File
under which I have RepeatingLevel1 as a SubElement
and under Repeating level I have Level2 , Level2a and Level2b at its subelementsl
and under Level2 I have Field1 , Under Level2a i have Field3 and under Levle 2b i have Field5
How do i handle this in the Content Conversion ?? as in how do I create my Recordset Structure ?? as it just handles one level below the Document Name (i,e) Message Type)
Is it possible ??? or should i consider some other way to constuct my data type ??
Thanks
DevHi Tarang
My DT according to the target file structure is this :
DT_File
>Main1(1,1)
>Main2(1,1)
>Main3(0...unbounded)
>Record1(1,1)
>Field1
>Field2
>Field3
>Record2(1,1)
>Field4
>Field5
>Record3(1,1)
>Field6
>Field7
SO I want to confirm if the receiver FCC will be - Main1,Main2,Main3,Record1,Record2,Record3
Record1.fieldSeparator ,
Record1.endSeparator 'nl'
Record2.fieldSeparator ,
Record2.endSeparator 'nl'
Record3.fieldSeparator ,
Record3.endSeparator 'nl'
or Main1,Main2,Record1,Record2,Record3
Thanks

File content conversion - Receiver config
Dear Experts ,
I am transferring data from an Idoc to a target structure ( flat file ) using file content conversion . But the problem is regarding the sequential order of writing the data .
>E1EDL24 ( parent ) [ IDoc ]
xxxxx
yyyyy
zzzzz
>E1EDL26 (child)
xxxxx
My target structure i have defined into which i pass the values from IDoc is as follows .No heirarchy , bcoz i want the child to be written in the next line
ROOTNODE
E1EDL24
xxxx
yyyy
zzzz
E1EDL26
xxxx
when the file content conversion is done it has to write to the target as below and they are unbounded repetitions
E1EDL24 xxxxx yyyyy zzzzzzz -
parent [ Flat File - Using file content conversion ]
E1EDL26 xxxxx -
child

It is giving me configuration error .
Should subnodes or child be mentioned in the record set structure or not. if not how will i clearly wite it to the next line as a child for every time it writes a parent unbounded times .
So can anyone tell me if the problem is with mapping or parent child relation or how do i map to get it in the sequence . Your replies can be really helpful
-Thanks in advance
Regards
GangaHI Bhaskar ,
This is not even so deeply nested . Its just one parent and child that it has to write in the flat file with unbounded times . The output xml is generated perfectly but giving the configuration error . in passing the values . Want to know how to write the child segments in the configuration profile in the content conversion parameters .
