File Contente Conversion w/o keyFieldValue

Hi folks,
Iu2019ve the following flat file for my sender file adapter:
HD00287u2026
12332341999933459
41324321453213242
TR
HD00288u2026
12332341999933459u2026
41324321453213242u2026
15332341999933459u2026
41325421453213242u2026
TR
Where HD is the header key field and TR the trailer key field; however for the body lines I donu2019t have any key field to match each body line.
Is it anyway to convert this flat file in XML with the File Content Conversion of file adapter? Iu2019ve been searching and I think the standard parameters donu2019t fulfill this requirement, I must have a key field, but maybe Iu2019m wrongu2026 maybe you know some workaround.
My second approach would be an ejb module to include u201CBDu201D key on each line without HD or TR. Afterwards, the standard module converts the flat file in a XML with the configuration of the file content conversion.
Let me know if it is possible to do it with file content conversion. No problem with ejb, but I donu2019t want to create an enhancement if the standard fulfill the requirement.
Thanks in advance,
Ricardo.

Hi
  I think the blog 1825, can be used to try out something in ur scenario..
you have Header and Trailer.. so thats standard..
for rest of the lines, you can create a structure like hbatch in the blog
like below (define this 10 times)
--<htbatch0>         (Zero to unbounded)
<key0>
<Value0>
--<htbatch1>   (Zero to unbounded)
<key1>
<Value1>
for all 10 digits (say 0,1,2...9) specifying the first digit to be the Key (as like blog)
by doing this, the first digit is considered as Key and all similar lines are grouped
Not sure, how the FCC behaves, but I expect..
that all the data will be converted into the above structure, but sorted based on starting digit
all lines starting with 0 in first set of groups <hbatch0>
all lines starting with 1 in next set of groups and so on..
If this works, the next thing is that your sequence of your data would be re-arranged (sorted)

  • File content conversion - keyFieldValue

    Hello everybody,
    Is there a way to generate more than one Detail.keyFieldValue in the File Content Conversion? , the reason for this question is that I have a file like this.
    00      value     value     value     value     value
    01      value     value     value     value     value
    01     value     value     value     value     value
    02     value     value     value     value     value
    69     value     value     value     value     value
    99     value     value     value     value     value
    And the Structure should be like this.
    Header
             00     value     value     value     value     value
    Detail
            01      value     value     value     value     value
            01     value     value     value     value     value
            02     value     value     value     value     value
            69     value     value     value     value     value
            99     value     value     value     value     value
    In my header the keyFieldValue is 00, but in the Detail could be 01 and 02 and 69 and 99 as just one Detail?
    Regards,

    I have performed this type of mapping before... Below is the approach that i followed..
    You have to do a 2 level mapping..
    Construct the below XML msg to read the flat file into an intermediate XML structure...
    <DT_XXX>
    .<Recordset>
    ..<Rec_00> 1.1
    ..<Rec_01> (0..unbounded)
    ..<Rec_02>  (0..unbounded)
    ..<Rec_69> (0..unbounded)
    ..<Rec_99>(0..unbounded)
    </Recordset>
    <DT_XXX>
    Rec_00.keyfield = 00
    Rec_01.keyfield = 01
    Rec_02.keyfield = 02
    Rec_69.keyfield = 69
    Rec_99.keyfield = 99
    Rec_00.endSeperator - 'nl'
    Rec_00.fieldFixedLengths - provide
    Rec_00.fieldNames - Field1,field2....
    Rec_00.processFieldName - fromconfiguration
    Then as Step2, perform a mapping to convert this into the required XML structure...
    <DT_XXX>
    <Header> </Header>
    <Details>
    <Rec_01>
    <Rec_02>
    <Rec_69>
    <Rec_99>
    </Details>
    <DT_XXX>

  • Problem with File Content Conversion

    Hi All
    I am facing a problem with file content conversion.
    This is my sample file structure:
    Header_Record (Occurance - 1)
    Field1 in Header
    Field2 in Header
    Item(Occ-1 to n)
    Field3 in Item
    Field4 in Item
    <<ItemType>> (Structure in Item) (Occ - 0 to n)
    <<Field5>> in ItemType
    <<Field6>> in ItemType
    <<ItemTypeCategory>> (Structure in ItemType)(Occ - 0 to n)
    <<<<Field7>>>> in ItemTypeCategory
    <<<<Field8>>>> in ItemTypeCategory
    Footer_Record (Occurance-1)
    Field9
    Field10
    There is a key field 'Type' in all the above records with unique value in each record.
    Now, I defined Field content conversion as follows:
    Recordset Structure: Header_Record,1,Item, * , ItemType, * ,ItemTypeCategory, * ,Footer_Record,1
    Recordset Sequence: Ascending
    KeyField Name: Type
    Following are parameters defiled:
    Header_Record.Keyfieldvalue: 00
    Header_Record.fieldseperator: ,
    Header_Record.fieldnames: Field1,Field2
    Header_Record.endseperator: 'nl'
    Item.keyfieldvalue: 05
    item.fieldseperator: ,
    item.fieldfieldnames: field3,field4
    item.endseperator: 'nl'
    ItemType.keyfieldvalue: 10
    itemType.fieldseperator: ,
    itemType.fieldfieldnames: field5,field6
    itemType.endseperator: 'nl'
    ItemTypecategory.keyfieldvalue: 15
    itemTypecategory.fieldseperator: ,
    itemTypecategory.fieldfieldnames: field7,field8
    itemTypecategory.endseperator: 'nl'
    Footer.keyfieldvalue: 20
    Footer.fieldseperator: ,
    Footer.fieldfieldnames: field5,field6
    Footer.endseperator: 'nl'
    Now, i pass the following file:
    00,111
    05,222
    10,333
    15,444
    20,555
    What i expect out of my FCC is this (Sample output to show the hierarchy of field values):
    00,111
    05,222
    <<10,333>>
    <<<<15,444>>>>
    20,555
    But, I am getting this output (Hierarchy is missing. All the structures are in the same order without hierarchy):
    00,111
    05,222
    10,333
    15,444
    20,555
    Field values are being identified according to field content conversion, but, the hierarchy of the fields is missing.
    Can you please tell me how should i change my FCC config?
    Sorry for this long question.
    Many Thanks
    Chandra

    You will always get a flat structure from FCC. If you want hierarchichal strucuture, you have to create a target and map. You will get only like -
    Root
    --Recordset
    Group1
    Fields
    Grop2
    Fields
    Group3
    Fields

    PR,
    Can you check the error in sender communication channel?
    Go to RWB ---> Component Monitoring ---> Adapter Engine ---> Communication cahnnel monitoring --> it displays new page. Then give your file sender communication cahnnel name. There you will definitely see some error.
    The error what you are getting is a different to this one. Can you please check the error what I have given above path.

  • File-Sender: Verification of file content during file content conversion

    Hello,
    I have a question regarding „file verification“ when using the file-sender adapter.
    I got a flat file (.csv) that I convert into XML with the file-sender adapter and file-content-conversion.
    In the file there is a column “RecTyp” that is my KeyFieldValue. Possible values for RecTyp are “B”, “D”, “U”, “T”.
    So far so good. All this works perfectly.
    If (due to an error) there is another value in RecTyp than the 4 mentioned above (B;D;U;T) the file adapter ignores this row today. And here begins my issue:
    I want to change this behavior. That means in detail, I want to check if there is another value in my KeyFieldValue “RecTyp” than specified. If this is the case an exception should be thrown. The whole message should not be delivered.
    We had the idea to use the module-processor for this verification….
    But may be there are other suggestions. Or may be some one can provide an appropriate module that is already written, etc….
    Does anyone have an idea?
    Kind regards,
    Tobias

    Hi,
    It is better to pick the file in generic way i.e Row by Row and then go with the validation with the help of Adapter Modules or in the Mapping.

  • Error in configuring File Sender Adapter with File Content Conversion

    Hi
    i am designing a File to File scenario using file content conversion in which the input is comma separated file and output is a XML document.
    mentioned below are the configuration information:
    Recordset Name: Substr
    Substr.fieldSeparator: ,
    Substr.endSeparator: 'nl'
    Substr.fieldNames: Name, Password
    Substr.keyFieldValue: Name
    and the error i can see in adapter framework is:
    Sender Adapter v0830 for Party '', Service 'FileContentConversion':
    Configured at 14:30:45 2005-04-07
    Initialization error: Conversion initialization failed with java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found:
    Mandatory parameter 'Substr.fieldNames': no value found
    plz help me ASAP.
    thanks and regards,
    Varun Joshi

    Hi Varun...
    Regarding ur error.....the name and password u send in csv is not getting recognised.. so u have to check the data type structure.
    there must be a recordset name and subelement must be recordset structure..the data type must be
    <datatypename>
          <recordsetname>
               <recordsetructurename>
                  <name>
                   <password>
    please try in this format and ur name and password will get recognised

  • File content conversion in Sender Adapater for multiple occurances

    Hi ,
    I am mapping from flat file to idoc .
    My flat file is a tab demilited
    Since the idoc would have structure
    like header , lineitem , schedule
    in my flat file conversion
    i am giving recordset structure
    as header,1,lineitem ,,schedule,
    since lineitem would be repeated many times
    Bt if  i give * i need to give a keyfieldname
    which would mean that keyfieldname has to appaer in header and schedule .
    since in my case my Column values in header , lineitem and schedule are different
    how can i do the file conversion in this case
    i can doing something like this
    header.keyFieldValue ""
    schedule.keyFieldValue ""
    header.keyFieldInStructure ignore
    schedule.keyFieldInStructure ignore
    i am not even sure if thats the correct way
    Thanks

  • Sender adapter: File content conversion suggestion

    Hi all,
      I require your suggestion on File content conversion with Sender File adapter. I am having a scenario where I would be getting multiple orders data i.e., header and item information in a single file. Suppose, we have given a chance to design the source structure. So, which would be the better way for having the source structure so that it would be easy for file content conversion and mapping. Is it like Method 1 or Method II?
    Method I:
       Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
    Method II:
       Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
       Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
       Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
       Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
      If you suggest method I, can you let me know how the content conversion parameters look like?
    Thanks in Advance,

    Adithya,
    Looking at your input file I think a structure as below would be better.
    <Order_Data>
      <Orderno>
          <Orderno/>
          <FieldA/>
          <FieldB/>
          <FieldC/>
      </Orderno>
      <Items>
          <Orderno/>
          <OrderItem/>
          <Field1/>
          <Field2/>
          <Field3/>
          <Field4/>
          <Field5/>
      </Items>
    </Order_Data>
    Content Conversion Parameters for this would be:
    RecordSet Structure        OrderData,,Orderno,1,items,
    OrderData.fieldNames       Orderno,items
    OrderData.fieldSeparator   'nl'
    OrderData.endSeparator    'nl'
    Orderno.fieldNames          Orderno,FieldA,FieldB,FieldC
    Orderno.fieldSeparator       ,
    Orderno.endSeparator       'nl'
    items.fieldNames              Orderno,OrderItem,Field1,Field2,Field3,Field4,Field5
    items.fieldSeparator           ,
    Items.endSeparator           'nl'
    ignoreRecordsetName        true
    Depending on which are your key fields you will  have to put two more parameters:
    Orderno.keyFieldValue
    items.keyFieldValue
    Hope this would be of some help.
    Thanx,
    Manju.

    Regards

    Ram,
    The problem which i can see is your key field values in your test file. Remember you should have the key field value in each new line at the same place.
    For example you have given your text file as shown below...
    File Given By You is :
    >H1hh1hhhhhhhhh2
    >*Ddd *
    >Xddd1dddd2dddd3
    >Xddd4dddd5dddd6
    >Xddd7dddd8dddd9
    >*Sss *
    >SEKss2
    Compair the above file with the below one..
    >H1hh1hhhhhhhhh2
    >*Ddd *
    >Xddd1dddd2dddd3
    >Xddd4dddd5dddd3
    >Xddd7dddd8dddd3
    > *Sss *
    >SEKss2
    If you notice, for details I have given key field value 3 in each line & at same place.
    One more thing just use the KeyFieldName only one ( just follow the same blog which I have given, to understand how to use the KeyFieldName )
    e.g.
    Document Name :MT_File
    Document Namespace :urn:test:FileFcctoIdoc
    RecordSet name :
    RecordsetStructure :HEADER1,1,HEADER2,1,DETAILS,*,TRAILER1,1,TRAILER2,1
    RecordSet Structure: Ascending
    RecordSet Per message : *
    Key Field Name : KF

  • File content conversion in File-to-RFC without  BPM

    Hi,
    I am using FCC for file to RFc scenario.
    My input record is in the following format:
    Header record
    data rec1
    data rec2
    Trailer record..
    The parameters are used in File content conversion:
    Recordset Name : Header,item
    Recordset Structure: Header,1,item,*
    key field name : data1
    and in additional parameters:
    Header.fieldNames            HI,GenDate,Ftype,Fname,Fdate
    Header.keyFieldValue       Fname
    Header.fieldFixedLengths 1,8,1,50,8
    Header.endSeparator        nl
    item.endSeparator             nl
    item.fieldNames                  DATA1,DATA2,DATA3,DATA4
    item.keyFieldValue             item
    item.fieldFixedLengths       231,240,241,120
    item.lastFieldsOptional       YES
    Can anyone check whether any parameters are left, b'cos the file is not being read with this settings. and in the C.C its just showing file processing successfully but not able to see the actual file.

    Hi,
    I assume you have header, item and trailer structure in source file.
    Source Data Type will be as follows.
    RecordSet
    --> Header
          --> KeyField(Value OH)
          --> H1
          --> H2
    --> Item
          --> KeyField (Value OL)
          --> I1
          --> I2
    -->Trailer
          --> KeyField (Value OT)
          --> T1
          --> T2
    Where Item Strucutre can come multiple times.
    Please use following settings.
    Recordset name: RecordSet
    RecordSet Structure: Header,1,Item,*,Trailer,1
    Key Field Name: KeyField
    Header.fieldNames: KeyField,H1,H2
    Header.fieldFixedLengths: 2,3,4
    Header.processFieldNames: fromConfiguration
    Header.keyFieldValue: OH
    Header.LastFieldsOptional: YES
    Item.fieldNames: KeyField,I1,I2
    Item.fieldFixedLengths: 2,5,6
    Item.processFieldNames: fromConfiguration
    Item.keyFieldValue: OL
    Item.LastFieldsOptional: YES
    Trailer.fieldNames: KeyField,T1,T2
    Trailer.fieldFixedLengths: 2,8,9
    Trailer.processFieldNames: fromConfiguration
    Trailer.keyFieldValue: OT
    Trailer.LastFieldsOptional: YES

  • File content conversion scenario-empty file

    Hi all,
    I am doing file content conversion for my sender flat file. And I want to generate XML file in my receiver location.When I check with test tab in my message map in IR , no structure gets generated in RESULT.Overalls cenario is working fine and message is processed successfully but empty file is getting generated in target directory.When I check the payload in message content in RWB communication channel monitoring,it's picking data correctly from the file.I am not getting what might have gone wrong with my message mapping in IR. It's not showing any syntax error.Even it's not generating target message structure in Results window of test Messsage mapping.Could you suggest what mistake might be there in message mapping.

    Hi all,
       I am getting this message in message monitor(SXMB_MONI).
    com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException
    thrown during application mapping
    com/sap/xi/tf/_MM_Flat_content_conv_:
    RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformatio~
    I am able to see the output structure in test window of message mapping in IR and communication channel monitoring is also showing successful message.
    fcc parameters used are:
    Header.fieldNames KEY,EMPID,NAME,COMPANY,PHONE
    Header.fieldFixedLengths 1,4,20,15,12
    Header.processConfiguration FromConfiguratiion
    Header.keyFieldValue H
    Detail.fieldNames KEY,COMPANY,LOCATION
    Detail.fieldFixedLengths 1,15,10
    Detail.processConfiguration FromConfiguratiion
    Detail.keyFieldValue D
    Please suggest the mistake in mapping

  • File Content Conversion - Key Field Value

    Hi Experts,
    I am using File to Idoc scenario for my mapping. In the receiver Communication channel, I am using File Content Conversion. My scenario is as follows :
    I have a recordset with Header and Line items with Key Field Indicator as 'H' and 'L'. In some cases, the value for this Key Field is coming in as something other than 'H' and 'L'. I need to throw an exception when this Key Field is not 'H' or 'L'.
    In the 'Content Conversion' tab, my attributes are as:
    Header_Structure.keyFieldValue = 'H' and Line_Structure.keyFieldValue = 'L'. Is there any more attributes that I need to add ?
    Please advise. Thanks a lot.
    Regards,
    Freddy.

    >>multiple key field values in FCC configuration i.e Line_Structure.keyFieldValue = H or L
    AFAIK it is not possible but lets wait for other experts to comment on this...
    >>Can keyFieldInStructure (add, ignore) parameter help me in this case ?
    No. this parameter is only used when you want to include key filed in ur XML structure(add) or not (ignore)...

  • File Content Conversion doesn't pull file

    Hi all,
    I have a Comm Channel using File Content Conversion - it does not pick up the file (no message in msg monitor).  If I copy the Comm Channel, turn off File Content Conversion, and change the Sender Agreement to use the copied Comm Channel, the file is picked up and a message appears in the message monitor.
    Any ideas?  Does File Content Conversion expect certain file names/types/etc...?
    Also, side question - when I change the sender agreement (or anything else in the CD), SXI_CACHE shows "Unable to refresh cache contents" with various errors, one of them being "LCR_GET_OWN_BUSINESS_SYSTEM - NO_BUSINESS_SYSTEM"; another said something about IF_HTTP_.. HTTP Communication error or something.
    I'll do more searching on this on and post a new topic if necessary...
    Thanks,
    Brian

    I'll try setting those logging settings (don't have access).

  • File Content Conversion ignore fields

    HI ,
    I need to ignore some rows in the middle of the data in File content conversion for exaple
    H1,Field1,Field2,Field3
    A,GB07,MICHEL,1000
    H2,Field3,Field4,Field5
    B,GB08,andrew,2000
    The above is the sample text file from the source , I need to parse in the below
    RECORDset1
    <Field1>A</Field1>
    <Field2>MICHEL</Field2>
    <Field3>100</Field4>
    RecrodSet2
    <Field4>A</Field4>
    <Field5>andrew</Field5>
    <Field6>200</Field6>
    I need to omit or ignore the H1 and H2 rows from the File Content conversion.,
    Please guide me how to achive this using File Content conversion

    Hi Krishna,
    In case if H1 and H2 is your record type or line type then to ignore line for this type... just do not handle "keyFieldValue" in the content conversion for H1 and H2 record type.
    Thanks,
    Binod
