File-Sender: Probl. with Content conversion - Read whole line in singleTag

Hello,
I have a flat file that i read with the sender file adapter.
After content conversion I get not the result i wished to have...
The source flat file looks for example like this:
ABC;DEF;GHIJ
KLM;NOP;Q
RSTU;VW
After the Content Conversion I would like to have this result:
<Recordset>
     <Data>
          <Row>ABC;DEF;GHIJ
           <Row>KLM;NOP;Q
          <Row>RSTU;VW
          <……>
What sounds very similar but didn’t work for me yesterday….
I defined a data type that looked like this:
DT_TEST (Complex Type)
     Recordset (0..unbounded)
          Data (1)
               Row (type string / 0..unbounded)
During the file content conversion I just did this:
Recordsetname: Recordset
Recordset structure: Data, 1
Data.fieldNames = Row
Data.fieldSeparator = ‘nl’
This was also described in blog:
/people/sravya.talanki2/blog/2005/08/16/configuring-generic-sender-file-cc-adapter
But my result is always like this:
<Recordset>
     <Data>
          <Row>ABC;DEF;GHIJ
     </Data>
</Recordset>
<Recordset>
     <Data>
          <Row> KLM;NOP;Q
     </Data>
</Recordset>
<Recordset>
     <Data>
          <Row> RSTU;VW
     </Data>
</Recordset>
….And not like I wished….
Can anybody help me…?
Greetings
Tobias

Hi,
I just gone thru the blog and as per the structure defined I have no idea how this works this way.
But if you modify the structure to
RecordSet - occurs 0-1
Data - occurs 0-n
Row - occurs 0-1
And in the Content conversion mentions Data,* instead of Data,1.
In this case you will be getting a output like
<Data>
  <Row>ddf,sdfsd,sdf</Row>
</Data>
<Data>
  <Row>fff,sdfsd,sdf</Row>
</Data>
You can achieve this but I don't have any idea how to generate that kind of output with the Structure and the conversion parameter mentioned in the blog.
Thanks,
Prakash

  • File sender adapter and content conversion with polish character

    We are loading a csv file with PI 7.0 file sender adapter using "content conversion" - all fields go through EXCEPT a special character hex '208C' (space in front) looks like "Æ" is converted to hex 'C28C'.
    We are using code page UTF8
    We are using:
    enclosuresign "
    enclosuresignescape ""
    fieldcontentformatting nothing
    enclosureconversion NO
    Hope some one can help

    Hi Bohamo,
    Hope you have set the following for your file sender adapter :
    1. Transfer Mode is set to Binary,
    2. File Type Text,
    3. Encoding ISO-8859-1( for Western European Latin ).
    Inorder to recognize Polish Character, try as follows :
    Your sender file after coming into Pi has XML encoding declaration 'UTF-8'.
    Write a simple XSLT mapping to change the value of the attribute "encoding" to "ISO-8859-1" in the output XML of message mapping . Include this XSLT map as the second mapping step in your interface mapping.
    First step in your interface mapping will be your already existing message mapping.
    An example of the XSL code :
    <?xml version='1.0'?>
    <xsl:stylesheet xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">
    <xsl:output method='xml' encoding='ISO-8859-1' />
    <xsl:template match="/">
    <xsl:copy-of select="*" />
    </xsl:template>
    </xsl:stylesheet>
    or you can also do java mapping if you are comfortable with java code !
    Cheers,
    Ram.

  • File to IDOC with content conversion

    Hi
    I am trying to do a file content conversion scenario. This is a fixed length file which needs to be converted to idoc.
    I have configured IR and ID (FCC parameters added). While testing the end-end scenario we are able to see that sender adapter has successfully read the message , but we are not able to see any message in SXMB_MONI.
    Please help

    Following is the file structure
    "RecordType HeaderField2 HeaderField3"
    "RecordType LineItem2 LineItem3"
    "RecordType TrailerField2 TrailerField3"
    Following are content conversion Parameters [KeyFieldName -> RecordType]
    HeaderRow.beginSeparator -> '"'
    HeaderRow.fieldFixedLengths -> 10,20,10 (for ex)
    HeaderRow.fieldNames -> RecordType,HeaderField2,HeaderField3
    HeaderRow.keyFieldValue -> 01 (COnstant)
    HeaderRow1.endSeparator -> '"'
    Similar for line item and trailer
    Is there any way to check our input file against the content conversion parameters to make sure that they are correct
    Thanks

  • File Sender adapter with File content conversion

    Hi
    I'm having problems picking up a flat file that has some junk characters in the file.
    I'm usign a file sender adapter with file content conversion. The adapters shows the following error-
    Conversion of complete file content of  to XML format failed around position 0: sun.io.MalformedInputException
    this is the sample data with junk char's -
    A20099201009999009999060815160505051700130008151vÿÿÿÿ³  r 0OK0476                     31N016227241915840IV  00840 ÿÿÿ ÿ ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ ÿ ÿÿÿ
    There is not much in the file content conversion. This is a fixed length file, I'm just pickign it up & passing it to an inbound proxy. All my processing is in the proxy.
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Rachana

    Hi Rachana,
    Do you use a specific "encoding" like UTF-8 or ISO-8859-1 in your Sender CC?
    To be simple, Encoding is linked to country, you can find all "iso-nnnn" via google or some of them in sap help.
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/e3/94007075cae04f930cc4c034e411e1/content.htm
    Moreover, with your source file opened thanks to Notepad (for instance), use option "save UNDER", you will the encoding use by your file

  • File sender with content conversion and ignoreRecordsetName

    Him,
    I have an scenario with a compressed file sender with content conversion.
    In my sender cc i have:
    1     AF_Modules/PayloadZipBean     Local Enterprise Bean     unzip
    2     AF_Modules/MessageTransformBean     Local Enterprise Bean     transform
    3     CallSapAdapter     Local Enterprise Bean     2
    In module configuration, I have also added:
    xml.ignoreRecordsetName  --> true
    But RecordsetName is not removed from XML
    Why?
    thanks, in advance
    Carme

    Hi,
    No need to enter anything in module configuration. Just specify following Name-Value pair in the table provided on the Content Conversion tab of your file adapter.
    Add a row with Name = ignoreRecordsetName and Value = true (Both case-sensitive)
    For details, see [this link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2c/181077dd7d6b4ea6a8029b20bf7e55/content.htm].

  • File Adapter with Content Conversion

    Hi -
    I am trying to convert a Flat file which has data as
    firstnamelastnamecompanyName
    Now i have created a message type which has a root name as Contact and its children are FirstName,LastName,Company.
    And in the configurator i have created a file adapter with the content conversion, but being very new to XI i have never used a file adapter with content conversion.  This is what i have in my Content Conversion Parameters.Please correct my code.
    Document Name      ::   MT_Contact
    Document Namespace ::   http://venkat
    Document Offset    :: <i>i did not enter anything here</i>
    Recordset Name     ::   RootNode(i gave this name just like that,,, Should it be something from the IR??
    Recordset NameSpace:: <i>i did not enter anything here</i>
    Recordset Structure::   Contact (this is the name in my IR
    Recordset Sequence ::  Ascending
    Recordsets per Message :: Contact,* (Can someone explain what should be given here)
    Then in the bottom in the name value pairs i have given
    Contact.fieldNames   =   FirstName,LastName,Company
    Contact.fieldSeparator = #
    When i am using the above configuration the error i am getting in RWB is Error: Conversion initialization failed: Exception: java.lang.Exception: java.lang.Exception: Error(s) in XML conversion parameters found:
    Format error in 'xml.recordset' argument: incomplete structure (name,number) pairInvalid 'xml.recordsetsPerMessage' value 'Contact,*' found
    I am very new to XI and i am unable to understand what exactly each field means in the file adapter when the content coversion is used. Can someone take the pain of explaining them.
    Thank you
    Venkat

    Hi,
    Use the following to create an XML strucutre like this,
    <MT_CONTACT>
    <CONTACT>
    <FirstName> </FirstName>
    <LastName> </LastName>
    <CompanyName> </CompanyName>
    </CONTACT>
    <MT_CONTACT>
    DocumentName : MT_TEST
    DocumentNamespace : Yournamespace
    RecordserName : record
    RecordsetStructure : CONTACT,1
    In the table,
    ignoreRecordsetName  : true
    CONTACT.fieldNames : FirstName,LastName,CompanyName
    CONTACT.fieldSeparator : #

  • Problem with reciver file adapter in the content conversion.

    I have starnge situation where the fileds in the file created after the content conversion are center aligned.
    Can someone let me know how to make it right aligned?
    For eg, i have a field with Char(6) in the file it looks as follows:
    1.23 ->    | 1.23 |
    10.23 ->  |10.23 |
    100.23-> |100.23|
    I want it to be like this :
    1.23 ->    |  1.23|
    10.23 ->  | 10.23|
    100.23-> |100.23|
    Please let me know ASAP as its a critical issue for the customer.
    Warm Regards,
    Nilesh Kumar

    Hi Nilesh,
    if You are using file content conversion on Sender Adapter, then do you java mapping between your two interfaces(sender and receiver)
    use java.text methods for formatting the values according to your requirement.
    first check the java API 1.4.2....
    with in that check java.text.* methods
    Also there will be lot of examples availble on internet on this. Check online.
    Also check this link this will definitely solve issue
    [http://www.iro.umontreal.ca/~vaucher/Java/tutorials/Formatting.html]
    Sample code on this link
       double x = 1.0 / 7;
       for (int n = 1; n<5; n++)
          System.out.println( "1/7 : "  + format( x, n, -6)
                                        + format( x, n, 10));

  • Sender Mail Adapter Content Conversion

    Hi All,
         I just want to know if we can send a flat file(Rather Than the XML) with content conversion using Mail Adapter. If yes then what are all the possible ways for this.
    I have tried but i am sucessful in sending the complete payload as a XML file, but i want the file with the content conversion, so that this should be able to picked by the third party systems.
    Will be oblidge if any supported blog or pdf is provided for the same.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Jay

    Hi,
    Now for the negative items, i want to send them back to business as flat file format
    using the mail adapter as attachment. This will help them to process the file as for there
    requirement.
    Since you need to send an email message you have to use the format mentioned here: (S-UserID required)
    https://websmp205.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012006153200000361852004E/ximail30_xsd.txt
    Save this file as an XSD in you local system and upload it as an External Definition in your XI server.
    Develop MI based on this External Definition (IN, ASYNC)
    Create an Interface Mapping with Source as the file containing Negative items and target as the above developed MI
    Now you need to develop an XSLT mapping (can use StylusStudio to do it) between the source and target Message Types
    This XSLT mapping has to be designed in such a way that it extracts the payload out of the Negative Items message and maps it to the target (Content) field....you need to use CDATA element of XSLT here.
    In this mapping itself you can define to what email-id you want to send the message.....
    Everything happens on the XI --> Business service side...so it is not the sender channel but is the receiver channel:)
    Your XSLT mapping will look something like:
    <Mail>
         <Content>
              XSLT CODE
         </Content>
    </Mail>
    where Mail and Content are the tags in the email message format...the External definition one.....
    If you are new to XSLT then refer to my answer in this thread...

  • File Sender Adapter with FTP protocol

    Hi,
    I implementet a file sender adapter with FTP protocol. There is a problem: the sender processes the files even if they're in use by another application.
    I.E. If another application put files (via ftp) in the sender work directory (that is on ftp), the sender processes those files before their transfer is completed.
    I don't want that this sender in a communication channel in PI 7.1, imports files in the system when they aren't completed yet.
    There are some ways to block sender before it processes incompleted files (in an ftp)?
    Thanks
    Matteo

    Hi,
    File sender adapter provides a check for NFS mode
    +Check this
    To specify additional parameters in the adapter configuration, set the Advanced Modeindicator.
    ●      Msecs to Wait Before Modification Check
    Enter the number of milliseconds that the adapter must wait before it checks whether the files have been changed.
    This parameter is not available if you have selected File Content Conversion as the Message Protocoland then made an entry under Recordsets per Message that splits an input file into several messages.
    This parameter is applicable only for the File adapter. If you enter a value in this field when configuring the sender FTP adapter, it will have no effect.+
    Other approach can be to apply OS level checks

  • FCC: Problems with content conversion

    Dear all,
    I have a receiver FTP adapter with content conversion. In RWB I'm facing following error message:
    Adapter Framework caught exception: Exception in XML Parser (format problem?):'java.lang.Exception: Message processing failed in XML parser: 'java.lang.Exception: Consistency error: more fields found in XML structure than specified in conversion parameters! (Value 'FCOTUPI')', probably configuration error in file adapter (XML parser error)'
    The field with value FCOTUPI could be found in POS recordset. I double check the length of columns but couldn't find
    an error.
    CC configuration:
    Recordset structure: HEADER,POS,SUBPOS
    HEADER.fieldFixedLengths = 8,4,8
    POS.fieldFixedLengths = 8,20,15,3
    SUBPOS.fieldFixedLengths = 5,5
    HEADER.fixedLengthTooShortHandling = Cut
    POS.fixedLengthTooShortHandling = Cut
    SUBPOS.fixedLengthTooShortHandling = Cut
    As you can see by the names, I am using as XML to convert a structure with subnodes. In documentation it said
    that it is not allowed, but in some threads I found the information that structure could be processed.
    Any ideas how to solve this problem?
    Thanks

    -Struc2 (0..unbounded)
    --Item 2.1
    --Struc3 (0..unbounded)
    ---Item3.1
    Target:
    Struc1 (0..unbounded)
    -Item1.1
    Struc2 (0..unbounded)
    -Item 2.1
    Struc3 (0..unbounded)
    -Item3.1
    But if e.g. the Struc2 appears two time it will be created two time in target structure before
    the Struc3 is created. But ths Struc3 belongs to Struc2 and should be created in flat file under
    Struc2 directly.
    How can we created a flat structure like this
    Struc1
    Struc2
    Struc3
    Struc3
    Struc2
    Struc3
    Thanks
    Chris

  • Cant do a file get from external server using file sender adapter with ftp

    Hi all,
    Up until now our company has only used the file sender adapter with ftp protocol to get a file from our XI server for processing and input the file into an integration process
    I have a requirement to do an ftp file get from an external server
    From our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...).  So all firewall issues and communications are fine
    Unfortunately I cannot currently pull files from the external server using the XI file adapter with ftp protocol from the XI development server AWB017
    FTP Connection Parameters: External server name using port 21, Data Connection is Passive, No security, I supply a userid and password
    Processing Parameters: Processing Mode is Archive (I tried test but this did not work either)
    No messages appear in the RWB
    Is there something else that I need to set up in order for the external ftp get to work via the XI file adapter?
    Regards,
    Mike

    Thanks for your responses.
    I have found the error messages in the File Adapter Monitor
    Scenario 1
    When I prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg <b>/Folder/Subfolder</b> the error message is as follows
    <b>EST: Error: Error connecting to ftp server 'ip address': FTPEx: /Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified</b>
    Scenario 2
    When I DO NOT prefix the source directory with a forward slash, eg <b>Folder/Subfolder</b> a different error message is returned
    <b>Error: Retrieving file 'FILENAME.XML' failed unexpectedly: FTPEx: Folder/Subfolder: The system cannot find the path specified</b>
    At least in this scenario the adapter has been able to identify the file on the external FTP site but cannot retrieve it
    Questions
    I thought that the backslash prefix for the source directory was mandatory but I am receiving an error in each scenario
    I receive the same error message whether the Processing Mode is 'Archive' or 'Test'
    The logs on the external ftp server seem to indicate that I am simply connecting, sending username and password then quiting straight away. I am not issuing any commands that they can see
    I thought that being a Sender adapter it would inherently execute a Pull or Get command
    To recap, from our XI development server I can ftp directly to the external server and view the required directory using the command window via a DOS prompt (FTP open ...). So all firewall issues, communications, userid and password are fine
    Has anyone experienced these issues?
    Please advise on next course of action?
    Regards,
    Mike
