File Sender without Sender agreement- Possible?

Hello
It may seems bit unusual but i am having requirement in which the file sender adapter is expected to trigger the OS level command in which it gets the file from SSH server in the XI polling directory and then XI File adapter would pick up that file.
Now it has been observed that, XI File adapter doesn't execute OS level command in its poll cycle unless it creates message which means XI would expect some file (atleast a dummy file) in its polling directory.
Since this is not possible, we thought of creating the second adapter which will poll the dummy file of say 0 KB and call the OS level command which will get the files from SSH server and then the second adapter would poll the actual file.
Since second adapter would serve just as the trigger channel, its not expected to have any sender interface associated with it and hence it should poll the file without any sender agreement. can this be possible?
thanks in advance.
regards
rajeev

Hi,
Actually i tried that earlier but it didn't help.
It does executes command before or after but that only when it creates a message and it doesn't create message unless we have suitable sender agreement.
Actually i tried with dummy message interface (without actual message interface in IR) and that works but it fails in MONI and generates the error message as no suitable receiver found which i wanted to avoid.
Thanks and Regards

  • Why we dont need sender agreement and comm channel in IDOC to file scenario

    Hi,
    there are 2 queries:
    first query :
Scenario is "Idoc to file transfer"
why we dont need sender agreement and communication channel for IDOC to file ,while we do need
both of these for "File to RFC "
Answer : which i got is because IDOC sits at ABAP stack but same is valid for RFC also.
Then why For "IDOC to file" we dont need that.
    Second query:
Also when i did scenario for File1-RFC-File2 scenario using BPM i have created a interface
between XI-RFC synchronous to send data which we got from file1 in XI to RFC importing parameter
and getting data from RFC back to File2.
Here in IDOC to file scenario why we dont need any interfface for IDOC-XI Asynchronous.

    Dear All,
For file to idoc scenario is there any possibility to get line items details or xml details i.e the segments and its related field details using reference id, transaction id or interface name or message id in SAP PI 7.0. I know we need to click each and every message in sxi_monitor and look for details.
For SAP(R3 System) I can create a report and set the job for specific time period so automatically it throws the details(like reference no, document date, invoice no from) in ftp path as .csv file. The same ftp path is maintained in program.
I wanted to check FTP--->PI postings and I have set the job at r3 system it is working fine and Im monitoring it too.
Now the end to end scenario is FTP--->PI--->ECC(R3 system). Please help. Many Thanks.

  • File sender adapter:FILE to IDOC without BPM, can't see in SXMB_MONI.

    Hi all
I have a FILE - XI - IDOC Async scenario without BPM.
I configured FILE sender adapter and IDOC receiver adapter. I made a mapping to transfer file data to the structure of IDOC.
Now when i am trying to load the file using command prompt, i cud see nothing in the monitoring. Whereas if i go to the communication channel monitoring of runtime workbench, i saw that CC is polling correctly and was reading the file also.
And also wen i saw in the processed folder which i mentioned in the CC configuration for the ARCHIVE DIRECTORY, i saw that file got transferred to the folder also.
I don't understand why i cant see anything in the monitoring.
Could anybody help me to rectify the problem. Is there anything i m missing ?
    Regards
    Naina

    Rajesh/Amar
    TCode:: SXMB_ADM->Integration engine configuration->specific configuration->runtime
Trace_Level = 3 then you can get all MONI PIPELINE Steps also
I did this change but cudn't see anything in SXMB_MONI.
This is how i have configured my process:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/FiletoMultipleIDOCSplittingwithoutBPM
But instead of IDOC splitting i have simple FILE - XI -IDOC scenario.
I have configured everything exaclty the same way it is mentioned here. But for me the process is not visible at all.
I can't even see the first request message in the monitoring.
This is the message i can see in the communication channel monitoring:
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Success Channel CC_*: Entire file content converted to XML format
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Warning Channel CC_*: Empty document found. Proceed without sending message
2010-05-24 09:07:41 Success File "/xyz/ABC.txt" archived after processing
Is there any problem with the file and that could be the reason it cant convert the file to the request message MT_REQUEST and thus am not able to see anything in monitoring.
    help me guys....this is a simple process and i m stuck...its frustrating

  • Sender Agreement not needed when in httpclient to file scenario.

    Hi,
I will like to understand why in the httpclient to file scenario, a sender agreement is not needed?
      Thanks.

    HI
Integrattion server - IS expects the messages in XML format. If you see the HTTP request you will see that we pass all the info contained in the Sender areement in the the HTTP request itself , namely - Message interface, message type and the namespace (along with login parameters). For IDOCs the the IDOC- XML are are sent to the IS (through IDOC port configuration at the source system.
When send a message to XI the sender knows that XI system parameters, but when at the reciver end there could be any any system that is reciving the IDOc/HTTTp message. you specify those message through a commumication channel and this channel is associated to a receiver agreement.
For more information you can search in sdn.

  • Using file adapter, got "Sender Agreement not found" error

I used file adapter in my CC and defined all the necessary objects. When I tried to test the configuration and I kept getting "Sender Agreement" error.
Also the chache is cleared too, searched the forum already, couldn't find any clue
Not sure what I did wrong

    Hi,
First things first, ensure you have an agreement for each single Communication Channel you have
and that they are correctly associated.
If they are created and associated, you may try the cache refresh with the link:

  • No suitable sender agreement error  (File -- XI -- IDOC R/3)

    Hi All,
I am completeing teh 'File --> XI -->IDOC to R/3' scenario.
Have manged to complete teh IR and ID config as per the various threads in SDN.
I am using FCC in the Sender File adapter (which I assume will read the file data and convert to XML data). When this channel is activated, it gives me the error 'No suitable sender agreement found'.
As per various posts in sdn, this scenaruio may not need sender agreement as XI is finally using IDOC adapter to send data to R/3.
Am I correct in assuming that ??
Could you help point any potential missing config.
    For your reference:
The comm Channel used to read file data is using File adapter (marked as SENDER/NFS/FCC/Integration server)
    Appreciate your feedback.

  • Problem with Sender Agreement for EDI File to Idoc scenario

I'm configuring PI for EDI with Seeburger Adapter (Calling as a Module) and I'm having an issue with the Sender Agreement using File Adapter.
Process used is File to IDOC. EDI data will be picked up from VAN (Using existing FTP process rather than using Seeburger FTP) and stored in a folder which is being accessed by PI  to send to R/3 to create orders.
All my inbound EDI will be stored in same folder which should be picked up by XI and distribute the same depending upon the respective scenario's in ID and respective mapping/config in IR.
The whole process IR & ID works fine and also creates Idoc in R/3, if I configure for one customer for EDI 850, but when I try to configure for second customer for same EDI 850 having same ANSIX12 version (V4010) as previous customer, I get stuck at the Sender Agreement part for this second customer because I use the same CC for File read for both the customers (Scenarios) and since there is a limitation with File Adapter "sender channel must not be assigned to more than one sender agreement ".
How can I create the Sender Agreement using the same CC for my other scenario?
I tried creating multiple CC for different scenario but when I place a test file for customer A, I see that its being picked up by both CC's.
    Pl Advise.
    Thanks!
    PSR

You need to configure splitter as module in sender file adapter (classifier->bic->splitter) as well as define a message splitter(with partner number and Seeburger mapping) in Seeburger workbench.
Thank you for the reply Aamir,
Do you have any document which can guide me through the process?
Does Seeburger Workbench play any role here? because I'm not using See FTP adapter to connect to my VAN. We get the data from the VAN using FTP process but not using See FTP. I'm using BIC to generate an XSD and SDA file, rest everything is in XI using File to idoc and IDOC to file process.
    Thx

  • No suitable sender agreement found - File / Adapter, Sender FTP

    Hi SDN Friends,
Is my first time in PI with FTP / FILE ( really I'm newbie in PI - but 2 years in ABAP ).
I have configurated my communication channel with and FILE/ADAPTER on a Sender FTP...
I have Tried with 2 FTP, one in my PC, and one Public... but in both cases, it's doesn't works... monitoring my communication channel, I get the No suitable sender agreement found ERROR....
I thought... may be PI has not access to the FTP's servers, so run in SAP PI server, an ABAP program trx se38, program: RSFTP002 and with this, I could connect to the FTP...  it works perfectly.
so I don't understand... what I'm doing bad?
    Any Help?
    regards every body!

    u r welcome...2 yrs back i am newbie
when ever we make changes after an error, sometimes XI will not take the changes in cache automatically; uses old one. solution for this is complete Cache refresh.

  • Sender agreement-File-to-File

    Hi all,
My design part worked fine for the file-to-file.
When I'm trying to create sender agreement , i'm able to select service, but I'm not finding namespace..
I activated each and every object ..
    Still getting the same problem.
    Can anyone give any idea..pls
    Regards,
    venu.

    Hi,
In Configuration you need to dom following steps:
    1) Assign/Create Business System/Service. If you create business service, then you need to explicitly add your Inbound and Outbound Interface in the Business service. If you do so then you will be able to see the namespace in the Sender Agreement.
    2) Create Communication Channel(Both Sender/Receiver)
    3) Create Receiver Determination/Interface Determination.
    4) Create receiver Agreement.
    I think it will helps..

  • Is it possible get special file in file sender adapter?

    Hi every SDNer.
I want to get special file. for example like PJ<today>_return.dat
Well, to paraphrase Marx, One folder has too many files. but I want one file in that folder.
The rule is simple. if today is 20/07/2007 then I get the file as "PJ20070720_return.dat".
How can i configuration File Sender Adapter?

Dont have an XI system in front of me, but if I recall correctly, your options are pretty limited. The list of parameters in Advanced Selection for Source File does not include a date Better selection parms with the receiver channels.
As such you may have to resort to writing a script on the OS that will do the following every minute... (basically run it more frequently than your channel)
    - look in that directory through all the PJ* files containing date = 'today'
    - rename the file to REAL_PJ_..... (for example)
In your channel, pick the file REAL* and archive accordingly so it's not picked again by your script.
If you find alternatives via cchannel - publish your results.
    sincerely,

  • File sender adapter: archiving not possible with transp.prot "filesystem,

    Hi XI gurus,
in my FILE sender adapter I want to archive the processed files to a separate sub-directory of the "in" directory.
It works if I use transport protocoll "FTP" with a specific user
but it don't works when I use transport protocoll "file system (NFS)".
the xi user has all permission on the directories.

how to pick this file using FCC from sendere flat file adapter without keyfields , and i can use fixed length also

    Hi,
with multiple nodes structure( like header and item in your case) you need to have a key field to process this file to a desidered structure using FCC.
Alternatively you can pick all these records as a single node type and classify it as header/items in your mapping by identifiing how each one differs frm other.

  • File sender adapter (FTP) - processing mode "Archive"

    Hello all
We're polling files from an external FTP server. For this I created a scenario on XI according to this thread:
When setting processing mode to "Archive" in the file sender adapter (ftp) it polls the file, stores it to the archive directory I specified and then tries to delete the file on the FTP server side. This returns me an error because we're not allowed to delete the retrieved files on the FTP server!
Because of this error the file adapter stops further processing and does not poll all the other files.
How can I disable this deletion mechanism while keeping processing mode to "Archive"?!?!?
We do not want to use processing mode "Delete" or "Test" and we don't see other options to influence this behaviour.
Thanks for any guideance on this one in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Bhavesh
Sorry for the late answer. Unfortunately I can't ask the application system to provide file names containing a timestamp within. The files are provided by an external partner and are retrieved by several others as well.
In the meantime I managed to achieve this:
In repository I created dummy data types, message types and message interfaces. No mapping programs and interface mappings!
In configuration I created the necessary communication channels (1 ftp sender, 1 file receiver) and the required receiver and interface determinations as well as the sender and receiver agreements.
    The result of this is:
I'm able to poll some specific files via ftp from remote host. The file names are file1.arj, file2.arj, file3.arj and file4.arj. All 4 files have the same SourceFileTimestamp (e.g. "20060727T053900Z").
I'm able to store those 4 files 1:1 in a target directory with the same file names. Until here I did NOT need to follow this blog: <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2005/11/10/xi-the-same-filename-from-a-sender-to-a-receiver-file-adapter--sp14: The same filename from a sender to a receiver file adapter - SP14</a>.
As of this blog it is possible to access adapter specific attributes and make them available in message mapping using user defined functions. This way I'm able to get the SourceFileTimestamp from the polled files and use it in a message mapping. This way I'm also able to use it in variable substitution on file receiver adapter (syntax = "payload:root,1,fileTS,1") in order to dynamically create a directory with this syntax: YYYYMMDD.
So far so good... but the only remaining BIG problem now is, that as soon as the mapping is activated and assigned in the interface determination, the created files contain the XML payload instead of the original binary content. Where has it gone? How should the target message type look like so that it can carry over the original binary file content?
BTW: isn't it possible to post screenshots? Would be much more easier to explain things... so sorry to anyone if I wasn't clear enough!
    TIA and best regards,
    Renaud

  • Scheduling File Sender Adapter

    <b>Hai expertise,
We need to send image files from different local PC's (whose IP address is dynamic) to Document Storage System through XI.
    1) we have to use HTTP sender (Java program which pick current IP address of system and file names from folder to XI in XML format).
    2) XI has to pick the files and depends on response from BAPI files has to be moved to other folders in local machine (from where XI has picked the files)
Is there any way to pick the payload value to one feild of File sender adapter?
will it work through Adapter Specific Message Attributes?
But ASMA is for dynamic folders and dynamic filenames we need to set dynamic FTP IP address to FTP Server name of File Sender adapter.
Is this functionality be achieved without adapter module creation?
One more approach we though is that "XI will get XML data of IP address where file resides and file names in the form of XML, which we are polled by server proxy and using that IP address in proxy can we use do FTP copy and moving files from one folder to other depends on BAPI response". Will this work as the BAPI as to execute in backgroung to get files from local windows based machine to sever for FTP copy????
File sender adapter has to be triggered, when HTTP sender sends the data to XI, Is this possible???
Can we use File Sender adapter, when HTTP sender sends the data to XI in the same interface?
Picking files from static folders, filenames but dynamic FTP Servers, is this possible through standard File Sender Adapter?
    Please advice.. its urgent...

  • File Sender / Separating a variable number of data blocks

    Hi all,
I have a problem regarding the content conversion in a file sender adapter.
The source data has a fixed length of 10 chars, but is contained in one big line without any newlines or other sepators.
    Example source data:
    0123456789012345678901234567890123456789
The number of occurences can vary; that is the next file might contain more or less data blocks of 10 chars each.
    Another example:
    01234567890123456789
Is it possible to create a content conversion that handles this kind of data? We have already tried several configurations (for example using "fieldFixedLengths = 10") but didn't succeed. In most cases only the first data block is read an the rest is ignored. Therefore it seems to me that the adapter requires a newline in order to recognise data blocks.
The target xml structure should look like:
      <Structure>
        <Line>0123456789</Line>
        <Line>0123456789</Line>
      </Structure>
Do you have some hints on this one?
    Thanks and regards,
    lars

    Hi Satish,
    hello Ravi,
    thanks for your replies.
If I understand it right, you would need two message mappings in order for this solution to work, resulting in the following steps:
    - Read File into one big record using content conversion.
    - Perform the first message mapping, splitting the content using the UDF.
    - Perform the second message mapping, containing the "business-mapping".
Is this correct or is there a way to achive this in one single message mapping?
    Thx,
    lars
