File store in Symbian OS device?

Hi,
I've written a Java app on a Symbian OS device (Nokia 9210). What's the best/easiest way to write something to a file on the phone (which is stored persistently) and when the app is reloaded later, that file can be read in again? Is there special Symbian CBA Classes that must be used for this?
Thanks

Hello, becose I didn't know how I contact you, I will write in to this thread:-)
Sorry, but I want to know how you wrote a programms for the Symbian OS. Which Software (Freeware) can I use for writing a programms.
Where can I find a Tutorial (Symbian OS with Java) to learn to programming a tools for Symbian OS.
Thanks:-)

    To reproduce :
-Build a custom store front on https://www.dpsapps.com/dpsapps/store_configurator/
-Load the custom store ZIP file with https://appbuilder.digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/#/main
    in your app
-Build your app and open it
RESULT : I have my app logo on the top left corner in the app header, but nothing appear under, it look like HTML is loaded because background color is well set but no more...

    Hi Neil,
It doesn't work for me, is there a workflow to inspect the storefront like on ipad with Safari? it will be helpfull to find the error... As I tell you I change the background color in the HTML file and it change well, but nothing else...
FYI, the js files was already like that :
    var r = navigator.userAgent.toLowerCase().indexOf("android") == -1 ? "?r=" + Math.random() : "";
      var jsFiles = [path + "js/app.js" + r,
        path + "js/controllers.js" + r,
                    path + "js/services.js" + r,
                    path + "js/directives/folioItemView.js" + r,
                    path + "js/directives/indeterminateProgressBar.js" + r,
                    path + "js/directives/mainFolioView.js" + r,

                    path + "js/directives/tabContentContainer.js" + r,
                    path + "js/Config.js" + r];
      var css = path + "styles.css?r=" + Math.random();
I copy pas your code but it just remove the r var and the random, I don't think it's the problem...

  • If you delete files from your computer, BlackBerry Link deletes the file or collection from your device?

I found the below description from the help of BlackBerry Link, however i never get it work.
Any one know whats wrong or what i need to set?
About deleting music, pictures, videos, and documents?
After you sync your music, picture, video, or document files between your computer and your BlackBerrydevice, if you delete a file or a collection of files, the following actions occur:
If you delete files from your computer, BlackBerry Link deletes the file or collection from your device.
If you delete files from your device, BlackBerry Link doesn't delete the file or collection from your computer.
For information about how to delete a file from your device, tap the Help app on the home screen of your device.

    Hey hkfoolman,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
Go into BlackBerry Link and click on the BlackBerry and then click on Options.  Make sure you have Music, Pictures, Videos and Documents checkmarked for synchronization.  Once these are checked, try to remove the files.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.

  • How to find name of report if I know name of instance and location of instance in Output File Store

    Hello all,
can somebody help me to find name of the report if I know name of report instance and also location of instance in Output File Store. It should be done via Query Builder.
It is ...rpt file as output from Crystal Reports. I tried few commands in Query Builder but usually they finished with timeout error.
Could you help me and send specific command? Or way how to change timeout of Query Builder?
    Thanks.
    matus

    Hello all,
    We finally found solution.
We knew that file is located on path .../Output/a_145/009/002/133521/~ce10c.....9332.rtf
This file has more than 2 GB. We tried to find which report is related and provide necessary actions.
As I mentioned we still failed due to timeout error - There was an error retrieving data from the server: CMS operation timed out after 9 minutes.
So we tried to use our testing environment. We started there QueryBuilder and there we successfully tested that we found details about files from FileStore /like Name of the report in Launch Pad, CUID, ...
    SELECT SI_NAME, SI_CUID, SI_FILES FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_FILES.SI_PATH = 'frs://Input/a_148/020/000/5268/'
    or
    SELECT * FROM CI_INFOOBJECTS WHERE SI_FILES.SI_PATH = 'frs://Input/ a_148/020/000/5268/'
    Best regards,

  • Server boot takes a lot of time due to JMS persistence file store

    Hi,
We're using WebLogic 9.2 on a windows machine.
Recently, we enhanced our application to work with JMS.
We're using 2 JMS servers on 2 different servers in a cluster, and working with distributed destinations.
We're using file store as our persistence store.
Lately, we found that server boot takes a lot of time due to actions which are performed on the file-store.
Analyzing this problem, we saw that the file size is ~2GB.
We understand that the file size does not shrink (unless manually compacted), and its size is matching the highest number ever of pending messages in the queues (like a high water-mark).
We also turned store debug on, using weblogic.Debug.DebugStoreIOPhysical, and we saw a lot of recovery logs after the file-store is opened.
We've checked and verified that our JMS transactions are completed successfully. We also verified that the number of pending and current messages is 0.
We've stopped the server gracefully, verifying there are no pending messages.
However, server boot repeatedly takes ~30 minutes due to heavy work done on the persistence store.
Compacting or removing the file store eliminates the delay.
However, we want to avoid manual operations every time we want to boot the server.
    Please share your ideas.
    Thanks,
    Itsik

The only suggestions I have off the top of my head are:
    * Ensure (1) the host system has at least 2GB (file store size) of free physical memory in addition to the memory used by current processes, and (2) the host system is not rebooted between each WebLogic restart. If you make sure of these two items, then the operating system will implicitly cache the store's file contents in memory even between boots -- when WebLogic subsequently boots the file store, the O/S should serve the file contents up much more quickly.
    * Consider moving to a JDBC store. JDBC store runtime performance is lower, but since you have a typically only have a small amount of records to recover, boot performance should be higher in this case.
    * Not that it helps your particular case, but it happens that we have boot performance enhancements in process for a future release (hopefully a near future release).

i went ahead and checkd the file and the privs on the file they look correct -rw-r--r-- ...but when i just restart it ..it starts with no errors the next time......What could be the issue.....please help
Then only reason i could think of is the size of the file is 35MB now...is this the problem....if yes....is there a way to automaticaly rotate this file ....

The root cause appears to be right in the stack trace:
Caused by: java.io.IOException: Error from fcntl() for file locking, Resource temporarily unavailable, errno=11I think this indicates that either the file was either locked (because another instance of WebLogic had it opened), or that the file was unavailable for some reason. WebLogic locks files as a safety precaution to prevent misconfigured setups (multiple domains sharing the same directory and store name) from attempting to share the same file.
I don't think that this message necessarily means there is a file corruption.
As for rotation, the file store automatically adds new files as needed (I think its 1 file for every 2GB of data). The "diagnostics" file store is generated by the optional diagnostics feature, and I think that this feature has options for controlling the amount of stored data.

  • Weblogic Server 9.2 - JMS File Store not working as expected.

    Hi,
I am facing a problem at the server startup possibly due to huge size of the JMS File Store created.
My question is that our application receives messages via MDB (container managed),
Even after successfully processing the message, the message which is logged in the File Store is not deleted.
How can i make sure that a message which is successfully processed is not logged in the file store?
(considering container managed transactions do not require acknowledgement-mode set in the descriptor, altough i have it specified)

    Hi,
It seems there are two problems going on here:
    (1) Forceful shutdowns should not (must not) normally corrupt the file store. There may be a bug in WL, or it may be the admin is arbitrarily deleting some file store files while leaving others in place (not supported).
    (2) "Even after successfully processing the message, the message which is logged in the File Store is not deleted."
This is a strong indicator that there's an application error and the message is not actually getting deleted. The file store size is proportional to the number of current messages (successfully processing/acknowledging/committing a received message frees space for new messages), and is not proportional to the number of successfully processed messages.
I think it's likely that the application isn't actually successfully processing the message but is instead receiving a message somehow and is either:
    (A) throwing an exception from within an XA-or-non-XA-MDB or auto-ack-onMessage() and somehow forcing the message into a state where its not being redelivered for reprocessing
    (B) specifying a transacted session and failing to call session.commit()
    (C) specifying an XA transaction capable receive and failing to call commit
    (D) specifying a "client acknowledge" mode and failing to call acknowledge .
For evidence, check the console statistics for the destination after "successfully processing" all sent messages: the value of "current" + "pending" should be zero once all processing completes, the value of "received (aka total)" should match the sent message count. If the "current" + "pending" value is non-zero, then this is an indication there are messages that were not successfully processed.

my ipod 4th generation wont show up on itunes or my compute, but there is a file for USB mass storage device in my device management with a yellow triangle next to it. how do i get it to sync? HELP!!!

  • How can I distribute free Store apps to 500+ devices?

I would like to install a set of commonly used free store apps on all devices before they are deployed. MDM clients, PDF readers, Business contact apps, etc.
As it is I can deploy a backup of a device using the Apple Configurator - However I cannot deploy free store apps with this tool. I know how to deploy paid apps using a VPP but free apps do not have a VPP.
Can I create a "master" apple ID and load apps this way?
If so, will I run into the 10 device limit issue with this "master" account?
Also, if a user then syncs with iTunes while logged into their personal account on their PC will it wipe the apps from the "master" account off of the device?
I really just need a way to mass deploy free store apps. Thus far I have been installing web clip profiles with links to the apps in the app store to save a little time, but then every app still needs to be manually downloaded and manually installed.
When I heard that iOS6 beta 3 was allowing fre app installs without an Apple ID I was extatic - but then it was cut from the final product.

You should be able to install free apps (or paid apps) with Configurator. Here's how I've been doing it.
First, go into iTunes and authorize with an Apple ID (iTunes -> Store -> Authroize this computer). It doesn't have to be a VPP Apple ID…just an ordinary Apple ID used to associate with the app. Then download the app(s). They will go to ~/Music/iTunes/Mobile Applications. These apps will be linked to the Apple ID you authorized in iTunes. Next go into Apple Configurator and add the apps on the Prepare -> Apps screen. When you try to add the app in AC (clicking on the "+" at the bottom of the screen), you should be prompted to enter an Apple ID and password (see screenshot below).
It will say that "This Apple ID will be used to redeem VPP codes…" It is NOT the Apple ID used to purchase the VPP codes… The VPP codes can be redeemed by any Apple ID. Even if you're using free apps you will still need to associate an Apple ID to the app.
You must enter the same Apple ID and password that you used to download the app in iTunes, and you should be good to go. You are not limited to the 10 device limit here.
And yes, you will need to instruct your users not to sync (apps) with their personal computers via USB. There are ways to plug in the iPad into a computer without syncing apps but so often users will just click through buttons and wipe out the apps that the company installed.
    Hope this helps!!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
When you try to copy data to the external drive, what happens? If you don't see any error, the external drive is formatted in NTFS, and OS X can't write in it.
To be able to write on this external drive, you have to use an app like Paragon NTFS. Another solution would be to format the external drive in FAT32 or exFAT with Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU1.html Make sure you copied all the files of the external disk to the internal disk before doing it

  • New Operating System - Same BOXIR3.1 system (file store & repository)

We have a memory limitation on our current BO server running BOXIR3.1 fixpack 1.7. The server is currently running Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition with 4 gig of memory. We need to add additional memory but are limited by our operating system. I understand we'll need to re-install the OS with Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition so we can add another 8 gig of memory.
We'll do a full server backup prior to reinstalling the I'm not clear on how to re-install BOXIR3.1 service pack 1.7 and the file stores. I'm thinking I'll need to re-install BOXIR3.1 then the service pack. But then I'm not sure what to do. Some of the questions I can think of are:
    1. How do I re-install BO software without creating a new Oracle repository?
    2. How do I restore my file stores? And how do I make BO use these file stores?
    3. How do I point to my existing Oracle repository?
    4. Is there anything else I will need to do to restore my current BO system?
I would appreciate any help you can provide.

    Hello,
First of all take a Back up of CMS repository and Input and Output File repositories.
    1. How do I re-install BO software without creating a new Oracle repository?
Install BO with new repository (mysql or Oracle). After installation completes you can re direct to your old repository using from CCM -- > SIA -> Configuration tab
    2. How do I restore my file stores? And how do I make BO use these file stores?
Just copy all the files from back up, input and output repository files.
    3. How do I point to my existing Oracle repository?
    CCM -- > SIA -> Configuration tab
    4. Is there anything else I will need to do to restore my current BO system?
copy tnsnames.ora file, input and output repository.
If you get any issues when enabling servers or starting the CMS, then you need to delete old server entries from your CMS repositoies. Search with TYPE ID = 19, you will get all server entries in your oracle repository.
    Thanks,
    Anil

  • When i try to open a .swf file, it goes to adobe device central as default

when i try to open a .swf file, it goes to adobe device central as default.  i can't seem to open it in adobe flash????

You likely need to change the default application(s) assigned for opening files to point to the new ones.  HOw you do that depends on which operating system you have. If you search Google you should be able to find out how to change the default programs for different files.

  • I can't view a very important file on neither of my devices

I had never had a problem with Acrobat.com before.  I modified a very important file on June 6th and saved to my Acrobat.com   For the past week, I haven't been able to open up the file from either of my devices.  Theres no preview available and it tells me the to download so I can view but it won't allow me to download. Its in PDF format and its 6.0 MB.  I tried accessing from my Galaxy Note 10.1, Note 3 and my laptop and it won't allow.  This file has changes necessary for work and I am really frustrated to have trusted Acrobat.com.

    Hi acmechanical,
I'm so sorry that you've been unable to access that important file. Are you receiving any error message when you try to download it? If so, what is the error?
Are you able to download other files? For starters, please clear the browser cache, and then log back in to https://cloud.acrobat.com/files. You may also want to try downloading it via Adobe Reader by choosing File > Open from Acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes.
    Best,
    Sara
