Files in $ORACLE_HOME/database

Hi folk.
I have one Standby server on 11g on Windows platform.
On that Standby generated files with names DGSBYACR*.0001 size is 700Mb.
I have next question:
For what purpose of these files and can i delete them?
Now thest files consumed 80Gb disk space.

Give me output of following on standby server
SQL>select name from v$datafile;
SQL>show parameter log_archive_dest

  • Strange files in my oracle_home \database directory

    Hello all.
    In my ORACLE_HOME\Database directory, there are two files which i've never heard of in my life :
    01IUINFH_1_1 (size 5.84GB) and 03IUATCH_1_1 (size 497MB)
    Anybody has any idea what these files are for?
    Thanks

    Probably you are on 9i and are using Oracle Managed Files, or you are on 10g and are using Oracle Managed Files, and/or your autobackup is going to this directory.
    But my crystall ball is broken, and I'm not a fortuneteller.

  • Store and Display doc/pdf files in the database using Forms

    Hi all,
    How can i store and display doc/pdf files in the database using Forms 10g?.
    Arif

    How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
    Solution
    Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
    here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
    Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
    Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
    [OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
    copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
    1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
      and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
    2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
      [JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
         cd [JacobStage]
         copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
         copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
      The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
    3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
      Open a DOS command prompt.
      Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
         set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
      Sign the files, and check the output for success:
         [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
         [OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
    4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
      you may skip this step. Otherwise,
      Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
      connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
      for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
      Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
      out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
      errors.
      Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
         CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
         DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
         TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
         GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
         CONNECT webutil/[password]@[connectstring]
         @[OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
         -- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
         CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
      Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
         grant execute on webutil_db to public;
    5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
      to the CLASSPATH entry.
    6) Start the OC4J instance
    7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
      Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
      It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
      Note 303682.1
      If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
      full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
    8) Create a new FMB.
      Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
      There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
      Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
      Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
             NULL;
      to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
      Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
             show_webutil_information (TRUE);
      in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
      Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
    9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
      the "Application Server URL" is empty.
      Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
          http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
    10) Run your form.sarah

    In my uderstanding , I should not unzip file under $ORACLE_HOME or $ORACLE_HOME.
    I need to do as follows:
    cd /opt/oracle/Disk1
    ./runinstalleris it ok?
    Please confirm

    You can unzip it to any directory, need not be the one under ORACLE_HOME. But during installation, you need to specify the correct ORACLE_HOME path, the one to be patched.

    " In some cases this parameter may not have been read when a core file

    In certain cases when if the the SGA is not mapped, there is no way we can find

  • Accidently deleted the files under $ORACLE_HOME/bin

    Hi,
    I am working on a HPUX ia64 machine wherein I have 2 Oracle Homes.
    1. 11.1.0.7_1Q10 -> 11.1.0.7 patchset with CPUAPR2010 patch and
    2. 11.1.0.7_3Q10 -> 11.1.0.7 with DATABASE PSU 11.1.0.7.4 (INCLUDES CPUJUL2010)
    Accidently yesterday while dropping a database and deleting its sub folders, I unknowingly deleted the files under $ORACLE_HOME/bin. (11.1.0.7_3Q10)
    The moment I realized the mistake, I cancelled (Ctrl+C) the operation. But by then, few files were already deleted!
    Now I am planning to copy the missing files from the bin directory of the other Oracle Home (11.1.0.7_1Q10).
    Is that a recommended solution. And will it work? I have around 5 databases in the affected home (11.1.0.7_3Q10). Is there a possibility of a disaster due to this situation?
    Appreciate your thoughts on this!
    Thanks!

    As of now, I do not have the backup of the filesystem. Also I have copied the missing files from the bin directory of 11.1.0.7_1Q10.
    Till now no application users have complained about any issues. The alert log of all 5 databases have no errors reported.
    So I assume there shouldnt be any issues! And things should work as normal!

    Hi,
    I wrote a general ABAP program which can be configured to grab contrent from an URL and post that content as a new PI message into the integration adapter .... from that point on normal PI configuration can be used to route it to anywhere ...
    It can be easily scheduled as a background job to grab content on a daily basis etc ...

    Hello Anybody, I have a question. Can any of you please suggest me how to make an xml file from the database table with all the records?
    Note:- I am having the XSD Schema file and the resulted XML file should be in that XSD format only.

    The Oracle documentation has a good overview of the options available
    Generating XML Data from the Database
    Without knowing your version, I just picked 11.2, so you made need to look for that chapter in the documentation for your version to find applicable information.
    You can also find some information in XML DB FAQ

    Hi all,
    I want to store PDF File in Oracle database 10g,
    and then I want to access the pdf file using Oracle Developer 6i
    can anyone tell me how to do this,
    thanks in advance.

    This question has already been posted a lot of times.....

  • How Can we move files from apex database to third party database (i.e. Google drive)

    Hi All,
    I am storing the files in apex database which are uploaded through apex form. Now i want to move these files to the third party server on regular bases. Means once we stored those files in our apex database at specific time on everyday we have to move these files to google drive. How can i achieve this please do  need full.
    Version: apex 4.2
    Regards,
    Vijay J

    Hi Vijay,
    Check out the following code: https://gist.github.com/trent-/7526011
    The following need to be set accordingly
    g_upload_folder_id - the google folder ID (obtained from the URL) - used as a default to upload into a particular folder
    g_wallet_path - the path of your oracle wallet with the trusted certificates imported
    g_wallet_password - the password for the above wallet
    g_redirect_uri - The procedure that has your implementation with what to do after the user accepts
    g_client_id and g_client_secret - property's from your project out of your google API console
    l_endpoint_url in the function authorization_code_callback - the page to go to after authorizing
    This particular code is designed to use a refresh token such that once the user authorizes, the system can refresh the token whenever they need. But you can adjust this to suit your needs. I suggest reviewing the following documentation: https://developers.google.com/accounts/docs/OAuth2WebServer
    So, here is what I've done. Create a button, with a dynamic action click event with the following code:
    $.ajax({
        url: '&OWNER..google_drive.GET_AUTHORIZATION_URL',
        data: {
            p_state: &APP_SESSION.
        success: function(data){
            window.location.href=data;
    This redirects the user to the authorization page. And as you can see in the code, would run the following when authorized:
    update app_users set refresh_token = (returned token); -- that is, depending on your user management design, you would need to adjust this accordingly.
    Then to upload the file, I have an onsubmit process with:
    declare
        l_filerow apex_application_files%rowtype;
    begin
        select * into l_filerow
        from apex_application_files
        where name = :P133_ATTACH_DATA;
        :P133_GOOGLE_DOC_ID := google_drive.create_file(l_filerow.blob_content, l_filerow.mime_Type, l_filerow.filename);
    end;
    Please also review the following post, which describes the overall process of setting up the project, wallet, acl, etc: Oracle Apex Tips: Accessing Google Data
    There are probably bits of the code that need refinement, and better error checking, but hope it helps :-)

    Hello,
    The easiest way to load a blob is to use SQL loader.
    This example comes from the utilities guide:
    LOAD DATA
    INFILE 'sample.dat'
    INTO TABLE person_table
    FIELDS TERMINATED BY ','
    (name CHAR(20),
    1 ext_fname FILLER CHAR(40),
    2 "RESUME" LOBFILE(ext_fname) TERMINATED BY EOF)
    Datafile (sample.dat)
    Johny Quest,jqresume.txt,
    Speed Racer,'/private/sracer/srresume.txt',
    Secondary Datafile (jqresume.txt)
    Johny Quest
    500 Oracle Parkway
    Secondary Datafile (srresume.txt)

  • How to insert a image file into oracle database

    hi all
    can anyone guide me how to insert a image file into oracle database now
    i have created table using
    create table imagestore(image blob);
    but when inserting i totally lost don't know what to do how to write query to insert image file

    Hi I don't have time to explain really, I did have to do this a while ago though so I will post a code snippet. This is using the commons file upload framework.
    Firstly you need a multi part form data (if you are using a web page). If you are not using a web page ignore this bit.
    out.println("<form name=\"imgFrm\" method=\"post\" enctype=\"multipart/form-data\" action=\"FileUploadServlet?thisPageAction=reloaded\" onSubmit=\"return submitForm();\"><input type=\"FILE\" name=\"imgSource\" size='60' class='smalltext' onKeyPress='return stopUserInput();' onKeyUp='stopUserInput();' onKeyDown='stopUserInput();' onMouseDown='noMouseDown(event);'>");
    out.println("   <input type='submit' name='submit' value='Submit' class='smalltext'>");
    out.println("</form>"); Import this once you have the jar file:
    import org.apache.commons.fileupload.*;Now a method I wrote to upload the file. I am not saying that this is correct, or its the best way to do this. I am just saying it works for me.
    private boolean uploadFile(HttpServletRequest request, HttpSession session) throws Exception {
            boolean result = true;
            String fileName = null;
            byte fileData[] = null;
            String fileUploadError = null;
            String imageType = "";
            String error = "";
            DiskFileUpload fb = new DiskFileUpload();
            List fileItems = fb.parseRequest(request);
            Iterator it = fileItems.iterator();
            while(it.hasNext()){
                FileItem fileItem = (FileItem)it.next();
                if (!fileItem.isFormField()) {
                    fileName = fileItem.getName();
                    fileData = fileItem.get();
                    // Get the imageType from the filename extension
                    if (fileName != null) {
                        int dotPos = fileName.indexOf('.');
                        if (dotPos >= 0 && dotPos != fileName.length()-1) {
                            imageType = fileName.substring(dotPos+1).toLowerCase();
                            if (imageType.equals("jpg")) {
                                imageType = "jpeg";
            String filePath = request.getParameter("FILE_PATH");
            session.setAttribute("filePath", filePath);
            session.setAttribute("fileData", fileData);
            session.setAttribute("fileName", fileName);
            session.setAttribute("imageType", imageType);
            return result;
         } And now finally the method to actually write the file to the database:
    private int writeImageFile(byte[] fileData, String fileName, String imageType, String mode, Integer signatureIDIn, HttpServletRequest request) throws Exception {
            //If the previous code found a file that can be uploaded then
            //save it into the database via a pstmt
            String sql = "";
            UtilDBquery udbq = getUser(request).connectToDatabase();
            Connection con = null;
            int signatureID = 0;
            PreparedStatement pstmt = null;
            try {
                udbq.setUsePreparedStatements(true);
                con = udbq.getPooledConnection();
                con.setAutoCommit(false);
                if((!mode.equals("U")) || (mode.equals("U") && signatureIDIn == 0)) {
                    sql = "SELECT SEQ_SIGNATURE_ID.nextval FROM DUAL";
                    pstmt = con.prepareStatement(sql);
                    ResultSet rs = pstmt.executeQuery();
                    while(rs.next()) {
                       signatureID = rs.getInt(1);
                    if (fileName != null && imageType != null) {
                        sql = "INSERT INTO T_SIGNATURE (SIGNATURE_ID, SIGNATURE) values (?,?)";
                        InputStream is2 = new ByteArrayInputStream(fileData);
                        pstmt = con.prepareStatement(sql);
                        pstmt.setInt(1, signatureID);
                        pstmt.setBinaryStream(2, is2, (int)(fileData.length));
                        pstmt.executeUpdate();
                        pstmt.close();
                        con.commit();
                        con = null;
                if(mode.equals("U") && signatureIDIn != 0) {
                    signatureID = signatureIDIn.intValue();
                    if (fileName != null && imageType != null) {
                        sql = "UPDATE T_SIGNATURE SET SIGNATURE = ? WHERE SIGNATURE_ID = ?";
                        InputStream is2 = new ByteArrayInputStream(fileData);
                        pstmt = con.prepareStatement(sql);
                        pstmt.setBinaryStream(1, is2, (int)(fileData.length));
                        pstmt.setInt(2, signatureID);
                        pstmt.executeUpdate();
                        pstmt.close();
                        con.commit();
                        con = null;
            } catch (Exception e) {
                con = null;
                throw new Exception(e.toString());
            return signatureID;
       }
