Files required when creating add-on installer exe

Dear All Gurus/Experts,
I couldn't find out and almost give up to create installer of add-on. The add-on created using VB6. It is UI API addon (I know it based on answers to several add-on topic posted to this forum). When I want to create installer exe, I use 3 files : application.exe (vb exe), AddOnInstallAPI.dll and EndInstall.exe (vb exe). In the installer software, there is a feature named include installer that could be tick or not. Is this correct ? is it only application file required to create the installer ?

You can use B1DE setup wizards also for addons built with VB6 or any other
language. It just takes the name of your addon files (executables / dll / etc) and
builds for you a B1 addon setup. Just as easy.
Regarding your thoughts about easiness of producing addons. This is exactly the
objective of B1DE. It contains several wizards to generate automatically code (in
C# or VB.NET) for your addons and shield you from all the needed mechanics
related to SDK.
And the tools do not stop only with development. You can download from here
also certification tools, profilers, browsers, test automation, etc etc etc. Go
under Business One SDK tools and download them. Several thousands of SDNers
already did.

Problem creating an AIR installer (.exe) from a .fla file.

I am trying to create an Adobe AIR installer(.exe). I already
created the .fla file and tested it. It didn't seem to work and
gave me the error of

I created a new environment variable called JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS
of -Xmx256M. And then the .fla file seemed to work . Apparently
there is too much code in my .fla file with as many as 20 videos
(.flv) and lot of radio-buttons ( I mean A lot of them !!! )...
Now with the .fla file working, when I am trying to create an
AIR installer it is throwing the error,
" Error creating AIR file. Picked up JAVA_TOOL_OPTIONS: -Xmx256M
so I am not able to create the AIR Installer. and If I change
back the -Xmx 256M then my .fla file won't work. So what do I do
now ? I somehow removed the above -Xmx 256M variable and created a
AIR installer with a self-signed certificate and when I try to
install that AIR installer, I get another error message,
"The application could not be installed. Try installing it
again. If the problem persists, contact the application author.
Error# 0".
So I have 2 questions:
1. how do I create this AIR installer(.exe) and make it work
as a .exe file and run it without having Adobe flash CS3 installed
on another computer and please help me in my case as above.
2. Also, would I need to buy a digital certificate to create
the AIR installer or can I use a self-signed certificate to create
an AIR installer and use it to install the AIR application on a few
computers ? Please help

How to make metadata fields required when creating folders

Related issue with SR 3-6472229431 and SR 3-6471130611.
We're using DIS 11.1.6 64-bits (2011_11_29 (rev 9756) 11.1.6.97) in a Windows 7 64-bits workstation (with UCM 11.1.1.5 in a Linux machine). The check-in of images to UCM goes fine.
I'm trying to make some metadata fields required when creating a folder. These fields are required when making a check-in, but not when creating folders.
Folders_g is enabled. DesktopTag too.
EDIT: Patch: 14695303 - WCC 11.1.1.5.0 BUNDLE ( MLR 16 ) NOV 6 2012 applied.
Is it possible?

After reading your response and rereading the original question a bit closer, the metadata prompting feature does not apply to creating new folders, only content.
Again, though, I think the focus here is in the wrong place. The metadata applied to a folder is intended to be ultimately applied to the content. You can build global rules that fire on submission of content to check if a field has a value, and throw an error if the value is empty.
If you expect users to create folders (and actually apply any metadata to the actual folder itself), you will be disappointed. Experience shows that users are not interested in that level of detail when creating content, let alone folders. Letting typical users create folders is a bad idea anyway, as they tend to create the same inefficient folder structures they previously created in file shares within Content Server.
If you need to tightly control folder attributes, you'll be better served by locking down the ability to create new folders. Otherwise you're looking at some type of customization. Keep in mind that you won't be able to customize the right click behavior of DIS. Any changes to DIS would have to be an enhancement request.

Please give us more specific information -
What make/model camcorder are you using?
Are you absolutely certain this is AVCHD video? Tell us more about the video settings you used in the camcorder (eg, frame size, frame rate, quality level)
Why are you attempting Log & Transfer from a card reader instead of from your camcorder? Have you tried doing Log & Transfer from your camcorder?
Are the SD cards straight from the camcorder, unaltered, or are you just using the cards as storage?
Are you using FCE 4.0 or FCE 4.0.1?

Creating add-on installer- v.2004

I am trying to create an installer for add-on
I have used the sample from the SDK regarding this issue.
when I ran the installer, I get the error message" the installer must ran from SBO", although, I do ran it from there(by creating ard file, etc') - (when I register the add-on,it says that registration was successfully made, but, when I re-open the SAP, I see the error mentioned above).
Is there any suggestions for that Please???

Where is the highS2.xml located on the disk? If you add it to your project you should set its Build Action to Content and its Copy To Output Directory to Always in Visual Studio:

File renamed when I add label

Bridge CS3 v2.1.1.9 is frequently renaming files when I add a label.
When it renames the file it adds "._00_" as a prefix to the file name. I then don't see the file in Bridge. I have to go to Windows Explorer to find it.
It is doing this to about a third of all the labels I apply.
It is happening whether I apply a label with the label menu, use the number pad, use cntl+#, or set the preferences to not require cntl.
The problem is not restricted to any one folder.
I have rebooted the computer.
How do I fix this?

Are 'projects' required when creating flex apps

I have spent 2 days doing several flex tutorials, and it seems everyone of them requires me to create a new project. Eclipse, then, automatically creates lots of files with names hardcoded into them.
I, personally, am uncomfortable with this approach: a tool creates my tool-shed automatically.
is there an alternative to developing flex apps in flash builder?

Sure, you can encrypt your document while converting it. However you will have to use your Microsoft office for that.
Please refer to the above screenshot & follow the steps :-
1) Open Microsoft word with your word file.
2) Click on the 'Acrobat' tab on the top.
3) Then choose the Create PDF option form below.
4) A pop up window will appear asking you to save the file as PDF, however before saving the file click on the 'Restrict Editing' option.
5) Again a pop up window will come up on your screen, you can choose for the Encryption method & password protection option in order to secure the document.
6) Once done, Save the file.

When creating an application installer in LV, what run-time engine or driver must be installed to install the VISA interactive control?

I've created an application installer using LabVIEW's application builder and use it to install NI MAX. However, after running the installer, the VISA interactive control is disabled in NI MAX.
The installer installs the following NI components: NI LabVIEW Run-Time 2014 SP-1(64-bit), NI LabWindows/CVI Shared Run-Time Engine 2013 SP2, NI Measurement & Automation Explorer 14.5, NI-488.2 Application Development Support (includes run-time), NI-VISA Configuration Support 14.0.1, NI-VISA Runtime 14.0.1, NI-VISA Server 14.0, NI Systems Configuration Runtime 14.5.0, vision run-time, dc-power run-time.
If I download and run the 488.2 installer, the VISA interactive control is enabled in NI MAX. But, the installer created with the application builder does not seem to install the necessary components.
What needs to be added to the installer to enable the VISA interactive control (VISAIC)?

Sorry for the confusion with the forum post that Jon sent you. I did some research on our internal database and I found out the component will not be installed by any of the components added from the additional installers section on the configuration of the installer. As you have already found out you need to install the full installer in order to enable this feature.
I know that this might be an inconvenient for you because you wanted to have one installer to run. On this case may I suggest using the NI Batch Installer Builder.
The NI Batch Installer Builder allows building installers that contain National Instruments software from several products. That way you can create an installer for you application in LabVIEW (and not include the drivers in the additional installer section), then use NI Batch Installer Builder to include the installer for your application and the full version of the drivers that you mentioned.

Sign In Required when using Classic/2015 installer

I'm trying to deploy Acrobat Standard DC.
I logged into the licensing site and downloaded Acrobat_2015_Web_WWMUI.exe (description: Acrobat DC2015 12.0 WIN ESD ALL CLASSIC )
I downloaded the Acrobat Customization Wizard DC
I wrote down the serial number from the licensing website for Acrobat 12.0 Universal English Windows LIC SN
In the CustWiz "Personalization Options" I entered the serial number (copied & pasted to make sure there were no transposition errors)
In the CustWiz "Online services and features" I checked Disable Product Updates, Disable Upsell and Disable all services
I saved the package, which created AcroPro.mst
I also did transform>generate transform and called it myInstall.mst
I've then deployed acropro.msi with TRANSFORMS="AcroPro.mst" (and also tried with MyInstall.mst) and it successfully installs the program.
I double-checked that the path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 2015\ which signifies the Classic track installer
When I try to launch Adobe Acrobat DC, I'm prompted that Sign In is Required...
According to the ETK Pre-deployment planning, granting usage rights section, it says that "Admin pre-activates for all users"
Does that mean entering the serial number in the Customization Wizard (which I've already done) or is there some other thing I have to do to activate that license/serial number so that I can avoid this whole sign-in thing and run Acrobat DC just like we have in the past?

I had tried that earlier but looking in the oobelib.log I see there were errors trying to grant the exception, but at the bottom of the log with this morning's timestamp it returned code 0. I just pushed out the package to a test computer and it did not ask me for a sign-in this time.

RH crash or new files corrupt when creating template

My template project keeps crashing Robohelp or corrupting the projects when i run the template script.
Deleting the linked Framemaker files then running the script eventually leads to a crash.
Running the script without deleting the linked Frame files creates a corruption of the project and when lanching anew project with the corrupt template a report notifies that there is a corrupt xml file.
This is a propblem i keep returning to. We haven't yet started using Robohelp for producing output but we have now been playing on and off for three months with the tool. We are still using our old Help tool and FM 7.2. We need to start going into production. Please help.

Why are you saving as jpeg for print out of Illustrator? Work in CMYK and save as pdf.
Working in CMYK means that, provided your monitor is calibrated correctly, what you see is what you get.
You may be in for an unpleasant surprise if you work in those nice, bright RGB colours and they come out all dull and muddy when printed.
Pdf means that vector art remains as vector art. It is bad Latin to pixellate things when you don’t need to.

Files disappear when creating a new folder

I'm new to mac....got a macbook this week. I'm in Iraq so I have very limited access to anything. No internet for my mac at the moment...so I can't update even if there are ones. I assume I have the currenct version of everything though. The question...
While switching over my files I decided to reorganize them. I'm working on my external HD and creating many new folders for all my files. On numerous occasions now (4) I have created a new file the standard way...right click>new>file...then named it. On these occasions I have done this it has renamed the previous file I had worked in (even though it was not selected) and then the contents of the file disappeared. This leaves me with the new file I created and another identical file of the same name...now with nothing in it. Some of my files I have backed up, but the last one deleted many videos that I didn't. Happens randomly at no particular time. If I select the file and view its contents often it will briefly change its name back to the original name, but still nothing in it. Then next selection of anything will switch it back. Have not been able to fine the files anywhere. Tired of losing my files. Any ideas??? Thanks.

Changing the names of items
You can easily change the name of a file, folder, or disk on your computer.
IMPORTANT: To avoid problems using Mac OS X or applications on your computer, don't move or change the names of folders that came with your system (such as the Library folder or your home). You should also not change the names of applications or items associated with specific applications. If you accidentally change the name of an installed item and you experience problems, you can change the name back.
Locate the item you want to rename on your desktop or in a Finder window.
Click the item to select it, then click the name. The name is highlighted and you will be able to edit it.
Type the new name and press Return.
Some document names have a file extension, such as ".txt" or ".jpg." If you change the name of a file and delete the extension, some applications may no longer recognize the file. To ensure the file can be recognized by the application that created it, change only the part of the name that comes before the extension, or open the file using the appropriate application, then save the file with a new name.
You cannot change the name of an item in the Finder window's sidebar. You must locate the item on your desktop or in a Finder window to highlight and change the name.

I realize that's a lot to digest and your time might be limited. This is something that only takes a few minutes and might help immediately.
Go to MacintoshHD/Applications/Utilities and locae Disk Utility. Launch DU, select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left and then click: Repair Disk Permissions. Depending on the size of your drive, it should only take a few minutes. When it's finished, Quit Disk Utility from the Menu.
Here's how to find out exactly which Mac OS you are running. Click the Apple logo top left of your screen then click, About This Mac. A pane will open. Just under "Mac OS X" will be the version number. ie., 10.4.x

Transport Required when Creating New Query

I am attempting to create a new query on an InfoProvider which has several existing queries written on it. After I have created the query in development when I attempt to save the query I receive an error saying the "query could not be saved due to a problem in transport. BEx transport request '' is not available or suitable".
It appears that the system is looking for a BEx transport to be assigned via RSA1 but since this is a new report I believe I should be able to save the report to TMP and assign a transport at a later time.
Am I correct in my assumption and, if so, any thoughts why I'm receiving this error?

Unfortunately, you do need a transport request if you are using already transported objects in yur new query definition. Even if you assign a request in RSA1 > transport connection, you will need to log out and logback into BEx before you can save your query. As an option and to save part of your development effort, you can remove these objects from your definition and save it. Then log out, assign a request and log back into BEx and then add the other objects to your query.
About the points: There seems to be something wrong with it for the past couple of days and I assume SDN is working to fix it. May be you can check back later and see if it is available...
