I am trying to export a customized button in flash 8 to
dreamweaver 8. I found out that it can be done in flash5 using
Generator text object. But I can't find the equivalent for flash 8.
Does anybody know a possible solution?

Hi,
I found a lot of solutions on how to make a thumbnails from pictures. Just try to search by google something like "thumbnail java", in your case maybe with swt. I'm quite sure that after some research you will find a piece of code that can help you with this.
http://www.java2s.com/Code/Java/Swing-JFC/showthumbnailsofgraphicfiles.htm
http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=758315
Especially this page looks quite good (Thumbnails and Icons Display part):

  • Cannot make executable jar file for swt application

hi to all!!! i have started learning swt library and it seems nice to me, but i have one problem, i cannot run my application. The problem is that i cannot make executable jar for it.
i'm using ecilpse_3.1.2 and have pluggined the visual editor for swt! yesterday i found one topic where was described the process of making the swt executable jar, i followed the instructions in the topic, but didn't resolve my problem, so if anybody knows how to achieve this , please help!!!!!!
the instructions in the mentioned topic are :
    1. Make sure the SWT jar file is included in the Eclipse project build path
    a. Download the standalone SWT jar file from eclipse.org even if you already have the ones that come with Eclipse. It is called ?swt.jar? and you will package it with the executable JAR. Make sure it is the same version of SWT that you used to make your program.
    b. In Eclipse, import swt.jar via Project Properties::Java Build Path::Libraries::Add External JARs. (Make sure to include the source .zip file). Also make sure to select the swt package in the ?Order and Export? tab.
    c. At this point, you should be able to compile and run your SWT application in the Eclipse SDK.
    2. Do a standard Eclipse jar file export
    a. Right click on the main .java project file and select ?Export??.
    b. Choose ?JAR File? from the list.
    c. Select the relevant packages and .classpath and .project resource files
    d. Make sure ?Export generated class files and resources? is selected and browse to the location where you want the JAR file to be created.
    e. Specify ?Generate the manifest file? and don?t seal the JAR or any packages. Choose the class containing the main method as the ?Main class?.
    3. Change the manifest file
    a. Navigate to the JAR file you created and open it with WinZip.
    b. Open the MANIFEST.MF file inside and copy the contents.
    c. Create a new file called ?MANIFEST.MF? and paste in the contents of the old manifest file.
    d. Add the line ?Class-Path: <swt jar file path>?. For simplicity, you can just keep a copy of the swt.jar file in the same folder as the executable jar, in which case, the line is ?Class-Path: swt.jar?. Make sure there is a carriage return after the last line in the manifest file, or that line will not be parsed.
    4. Replace the manifest file
    a. Make sure the manifest file and the executable jar are in the same folder.
    b. Open the command prompt and navigate to the containing folder.
    c. Enter the command ?jar umf MANIFEST.MF <executable jar name>? to update the manifest file with the class path information.
    5. Package the JAR with SWT files
    a. Put the updated executable JAR file, swt.jar, and the associate DLL in the same folder. The DLL can be pulled out of swt.jar and should have a name like ?swt-win32-####.dll? on Windows.
    b. The JAR file should now successfully execute. On Windows, you can usually just double click the JAR file in explorer and it will open. If that does not work, the command ?java ?jar <executable jar name>? on the command line has the same effect.
but a few steps aren't exact for me , for example : first, which jar i have to include in build path : downloaded or from plugins folder, second
i have to incude source.zip too??? but it is only in downloaded zip file which includes both swt.jar and src.zip, and finally can anyone clarify next :
"5. Package the JAR with SWT files
    a. Put the updated executable JAR file, swt.jar, and the associate DLL in the same folder. The DLL can be pulled out of swt.jar and should have a name like ?swt-win32-####.dll? on Windows."
what does this mean, put these in folder or make jar from them????

    wolve634 wrote:
but a few steps aren't exact for me , for example : first, which jar i have to include in build path : downloaded or from plugins folder, secondTry it both ways. If neither works, then ask again. In a suitable forum, though. An Eclipse forum or an SWT forum or something related to where you got those instructions would make a lot more sense than asking here.
i have to incude source.zip too???No, of course you don't have to distribute the source code.
    a. Put the updated executable JAR file, swt.jar, and the associate DLL in the same folder. The DLL can be pulled out of swt.jar and should have a name like ?swt-win32-####.dll? on Windows."
what does this mean, put these in folder or make jar from them????It says "Put (them) in the same folder". You're asking whether that means to put them in a folder? Yes, it does.

  • Attaching a link to a Flash video

I made a flash video and I would like it to be a link to
another site. Is this possible if so how would l go about doing
this? I search these forums all morning and found nothing related
to the topic. I tried the following and had no success:
    1. Right click on image Edit tag, events, then OnbllClick
    insert web address.
    2. Under insert tab I tried HTML, head tag, , link.
    3. Under modify make link.
All 3 of those had no luck I also tried a few other things.
    Got know where
I am wondering if I was suppose to add then link maybe in
    Flash or After Effects?
Does anyone happen to know how to go about attaching a link
    to a flash video?
All of a sudden I also been having trouble with opening up
the page in Explorer and its asking me to save the file as
dwt.template which its already save as. When I open it does the
same thing again. I didn't have this problem until today. Other
then this it was able to preview it in explorer. Firefox works fine
    Thanks for you replys,
    Robert

Yes, and you would lose. First of all, you didn't read my
    post because I
did not say you couldn't put a link IN Flash. I said that you
    cannot use
HTML to put a link on a Flash object. And secondly you are
    missing the crux
of the help files, as explained by Alan.

  • SWT Libraries in .jar file - UnsatisfiedLinkError

I have a program that runs inside another application like a plug-in. I'm using the org.eclipse.swt toolkit.
The program runs great the first time I run it, but when I try to run it a second time I get:
Caught Exception: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: no swt-win32-3550 or swt-win32 in swt.library.path, java.library path, or the jar file. The libraries are in my jar file and as I indicated, the program works great the first time it's run.
I cannot control each user's environment so I don't think the CLASSPATH and load() options will work for me. Also, for distribution purposes, I really need to keep all the required libraries in the .jar file.
Could someone explain this to me?
Any suggestions on how to proceed?

Well, we have multiple locations with different environments. We have distributed environments and we have standalone installations. And we have business partners with no IT departments and others with small IT departments who are just too busy. And most of the people we work with are on Windows machines, but not all.
Ok, but none of that changes what I said.
Of course I could distribute multiple files. I'd just like to avoid that if possible. And I thought that the big advantage to using swt is that it would use the system libraries (avoiding potential display problems) but I wouldn't have to concern myself with which system the user is on because the toolkit would take care of all that. Is that not how swt is supposed to work?
It doesn't matter who loads the shared library - what I said still applies.
So the OS loads the library? Ok. I thought the JVM loads the library. So is there a way to tell the system to unload it? Or to tell it that it's already loaded?
Unloading requires that you use a class loader and what some call a trick with the garbage collector.
However a library is loaded into the process space (but by the OS) not into the OS space. So restarting the entire process requires reloading it.
    >
I'm just not getting why it works the first time...Couldn't say. I wasn't really commenting about that but rather your other comment.
You might want to specifically define how you get to the "first" and "second" time.

is there any possible way to create an .SWT file in Flash MX

    Hi
I thought it might make the navigation bar look fun.  What else could you

Why -  is there is a problem with trying to use them for navigation?  You

  • Eclipse +flex 3 plugin crashes when trying to see mxml file in design mode

    Hi,
I have strange problem I've been struggling with for 3 days.
    I have eclipse-jee-europa-fall2-win32(eclipse europa 3.3.1.1)
+ adobe flex 3 eclipse plugin.
My workspace consists of several projects + one library.
There is not problem when trying to edit any mxml file when
my library is not imported yet. Once I import it to my workspace I
cannot see any mxml file in design mode since it crashes with the
    following msg in log:
Did anyone have similar problem and maybe knows the
solutiuon? I've reinstalled/redownoaded eclipse, flex plugin, flash
players and so on. What's more it happens only on my machine - same
project on different one works without crushing.

I've found solution by myself so I'll present it here. Maybe
    someone will need it.
The problem of such behaviour was that Flex plugin always (at
least on my pc) wants to ustart eclipse using its own JRE from here
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3 Plug-in\jre (default dir).
This environment is Java 5. When you go to
    eclipse>window>preferences>Java>Installed JREs and you
delete default Flex JRE, add new to point to for example C:\Program
Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04 eclipse still uses JRE from C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3 Plug-in\jre. Do not know why
Flex/eclipse does that but if you simply overwrite C:\Program
Files\Adobe\Flex Builder 3 Plug-in\jre files with newer JRE from
    C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_04 all works perfectly.
    Hope it helps somebody ;-)
    thanks Artur

    Post Author: mkoch
    CA Forum: JAVA
I'm a Developer and new to Crystal Reports and I have the job to create a Report from a SWT-Application.The report-files ( *.rpt) were created with Crystal Reports 10 or 11.> I'm not sure but I have access to a machine where Crystal Reports 10 Developer an Crystal Reports 11 Runtime are installed. Can anybody describe in detail how I can start the creation of a report from my Java-Application?> What libraries are needed, where can I get them and so on.I saw in the CR10-Setup that there is a Java-feature - but unfortunately this is not installed on my test-machine.--> Is it necessary to install this feature or can I get this files on businessobjects.com?Is it possible to start the report-creation from command-line?I saw a Java-example on the internet which uses Report.exe - but I haven't found this on my machine.I hope, that somebody can help me.GreetingsMarkus

This is my very simple inventory.  On previous program I could sort by those items that did not have any figure in the row across.  Then I could print a report of open inventory.  Such as 149 Lidded Vase has not sales amount in the four colums across, thus it is open inventory.  How can I capture all those items in one report?

  • Open file dialog in java apps causes segmentation fault

Started to happen since sometime early in the java 1.5 releases (the early developer releases and still now)
Programs like Eclipse (3.1.x) and Azureus (2.3.0.x), when I try and open a file using the toolbar or menu the application dumps. I am tried repairing permissions, deleting java config/cache files, etc. No luck.
I thought I narrowed it down to either my external firewire drive or samba volume being mounted, but that seemed to just be a false positive.

I forgot to tell you that we in this case use a remote connection through Cisco VPN. Are there difference in how Jinitiator and SUN's JPI handle this
We also tried against other customer width the same result. It seems to have importance if you are remote or not. If you are on local LAN it seems to be the almost the same time if you use Jinitiator or SUN's JPI.
