Fillable forms aren't fillable on web site.

I have created fillable pdf forms, under a trial with acrobat XI.  I uploaded the forms to my website, but they aren't fillable when opened.  Is this due to trial status; which will change later?  How can I add the fillable version to my website?

I figured this problem out. I wrote a handler that puts the pdf file out as a binary response stream:
  content-type: 'application/pdf'
content-disposition: 'attachment; filename="thefilenameyouwouldliketheusertoget.pdf"'
So, my download hotlink with a target="_blank"
and href=http://mysite.com/pdfhandler.ashx?file=pdffilename.pdf
will go to the handler, which outputs the pdf with resulting "save or open" option from most browsers.
If you just put the pdf form file in a URL it will open in the browser window or be in a form that won't save the user's form input. If your form is fillable as a stand-alone pdf file, it should also work just like the original pdf using the above strategy.

  • I am having a problem printing pdf forms from the USDA FSA web site

The forms can be populated and printed but not saved. Each time I populate a form and try to print it the website stops responding. I have try without populating the form, I ve tryed different forms, different printer and system. restarting the computer, flushing my cache. I can print other pdf files, I can populate and print from other website. It only happening to me at the USDA FSA website after selecting an eform such as FSA 2002. Any help out there?

You should be able to right click on the PDF in the site and save the form. Even if you can not, once the form is displayed it is actually saved to the TEMP folder and you could play with that version. You will not be able to save the form with any data included, only the form itself since you are using Reader (by the way, there is a separate forum for Reader that might provide better answers).
To avoid the problems you mention with the web site, I would do the download of the form if at all possible and work directly in Reader on your system. That might solve the printing problem you are having. When I opened it yesterday, there was some linking to the site that I found a bit unusual, but I did not find anything in the PDF that would have done that -- I did not spend a lot of time looking for such things that would be typical of some JavaScript or such.

  • Can I create a fillable pdf form and then export it for client use on my web site?

Can I create a fillable pdf form and then export it for client use on my web site?  I need clients to be able to fill in the (registration) form on my site then submit it via email.

  • Some web sites require you to type words presented in a strange form (Captcha?). The 'Captcha' does not always show up on my screen. How can I fix this?

I do not know how to make this any more clear. The strange, 'squiggly' words are meant to protect a web site from computerized log ins (I think). If the words are interpreted and entered correctly, you can log in successfully. But since the strangely formed words do not show up on my screen, I cannot continue the process. This does not occur all the time, on some sites the strangely formed words show up, and I can continue the process. Is this a problem with Firefox, my computer, or the web site I am trying to log into?

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
Make sure that you do not block third-party images permissions.default.images

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

On my Mac os 10.6.8, when I attempt to open a form from a web site, the Reader (10.1.2) does not automatically open as it used to.  What can I do to correct this problem?

It sounds like your file associations are messed up and Reader is trying to open your .jpg files. Is this correct?
If so, you just need to change the associations to choose what application opens them. Here's how: Change File Associations in Mac OS X

  • Forms 9i Runtime causes "Web site cannot be displayed" message

I'm running Forms Developer 9iDS on Windows NT and IE ver 5.5. Whenever I try running a form from builder IE returns the message "Web site cannot be displayed". Is there any problem with settings/installation?

    Hi,
This error message sounds like a Browser message from IE. This means that the URL called does not exist or cannot be served due to a server unavailability. Did yu start teh OC4J instance? Go to the Windows start bar, the iDS folder, Forms and the click on "start OC4J inszance".

  • Finding IRS tax web site, using Firefox, I found lists of IRS forms etc., however I can't open any of them.

I use AOL Firefox as my home page. Problem: I can't download a IRS tax form, etc after getting to the IRS Tax web site. I have a MAC OS computer 10.7.5 version, 2.5 processor, 4 GB memory. Using MAC's Safari I have no problem. I prefer to use Firefox.

As long as you do not delete your Firefox personal settings or application data, they should remain after a reinstall.
Don't run the Firefox uninstaller, simply run the installer that you download. This will just install over your previous installation.
<b>Note:</b> To be 100% safe, I would recommend backing up your Firefox application data folder.

You can install the portable Firefox 3.6.19 version to access websites that do not work with Firefox 5+.

I'm using iphoto 8.1.2..  When I try to upload pics to another web site the pics aren't showing up.  There is nothing there to choose from.  What could be the problem?

We'll need as full a description of the problem as you can. For instance: 'iPhoto won't export' is best explained by describing how you are trying to export, and so on. So, step-by-step how do you go about this uploading?

Ok, first thing, why are you doing anything with WAMP or XAMPP when you're running a Mac? MAMP should be what you want unless you're not explaining part of what you are trying to do.
2nd thing, I haven't used MAMP in a while, but there are two possibilities for not seeing what you want to see once you have MAMP turned on. One possibility is that you already have "Web Sharing" turned on in your Sharing Preference Pane. If that is the case, port 80 will already be taken and you'll be seeing the default Apache install (files are stored at /Library/WebServer/Documents/). This would push MAMP to either not turn on it's web serving capabilities, or to push it to another port. The other possibility is that MAMP defaults to another port anyway. So instead of localhost, you might have to type in localhost:8080 or something similar. I believe the control panel that gets installed can take you to the currently MAMP-served page, and it can also help you change which port your serving on.
80 is the default port for web serving and the ONLY port that will let you get straight to the server without having to type in webaddress.com:port# instead of just webaddress.com.

  • Web sites visited aren't highlighted after upgrading to 30.0

After doing a search and visiting web sites they don't remain highlighted making it hard to keep track of sites visited.

Hmm, it works if you reload, but when you go back the effect is lost. Could you test something. Firefox caches the last state of the page, and it may be failing to update the cached version.
This workaround turns off the feature that tries to save time redrawing the page:
    (1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
    (2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
    (3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionhistory.max_total_viewers''' preference and change the value from -1 to 0 (that's a zero).
(Please don't change any other similar-sounding settings to 0 or you may disable Firefox's ability to save/restore your open windows and tabs.)
Then reload the problem page. Hopefully after that you won't need to reload. Any luck?
