Filter an XMLList based on values stored in an arary

Basically what I want to do is remove elements with in my
XMLList if the node contains a specific value. The catch is that
value could be a multiple number of different values.
For example I have an XMLList that has several items:
<item id="200">
<url>some.swf</url>
<image>image.jpg</image>
<owner id="123" name="Some Company">
</item>
<item id="201">
<url>some.swf</url>
<image>image.jpg</image>
<owner id="123" name="Some Company Again">
</item>
Then I have an Array that is storing the Companies that I
want filtered out of the XMLList .. example:
filterArray[0] = "Company X";
filterArray[1] = "Some Company";
I don't know how many indexes the array will have. What I
want to do is delete any item in the XMLList that has a owner.@name
that is equal to any name stored in any index of the Array. I have
no idea where to start with this. Any help would be great!

I'd create a filter function, and in that function, loop over
the array, comparing values.
You can do something like this:
var xl:XMLList = xmlItems.item.(!isExcluded(*));
private function isExcluded(xmlItem:XML):Boolean {
var bExcluded:Boolean = false;
var sOwnerName:String = xmlItem.owner.text();
for (var i:int=o;i<aCompanies.length;i++) {
if (aCompanies [ i ] == sOwnerName) {
bExcluded = true;
break;
return bExcluded;

  • How to generate controls dynamically based on value stored in database using mvc4?

    In my database, i have a field called control_ids corresponding to  text box, dropdownlist, radiobuttonlist etc. My goal is to
    create controls dynamically based on value of control_id-field in table. Anybody please help me how to create the controls dynamically in MVC 4 for this scenario.

    In your view you could do something like that:
    foreach (var field in Model.FormStruture.fields)
    <div class="editor-label">
    <label for="@field.Name">@field.Descricao</label>
    </div>
    <div class="editor-field">

  • Filter master rows based on attributes in detail view.

    Hi,
    How do I set up VO's so that I can:
    1. filter master records based on attribute values in either the detail or master attribute values.
    and
    2. display each distinct master record with all its associated detail records.
    Stated another way, I want to list all the master records (with their associated detail records) filtered by the existence of qualifying detail records -- give me all departments which have assigned one or more employees who meet some criteria; list the departments and ALL the dept.'s employees (regardless of whether they individually meet the criteria).
    We've been struggling with this for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to accomplish this on 10.1.2, 9.0.5.2 and 9.0.3.3 with pretty much the same results on all three versions.
    To make queries based on values in either the master or detail records we created a database view that denormalizes the tables. This let's us include criteria based on either the master or detail tables, but of course rows from the master table may appear multiple times. We tried a DBMS global temporary table, but the inserted rows were not visible to the client; I'm assuming they're discarded with the session between queries or the queries establish separate sessions. I tried marking only the master record columns as selected and queriable and the detail columns as just queriable, but this causes the detail columns to be defined as transient VO attributes.
    TIA, for ideas or guidance.

  • How to filter UWL workitem based system object

    Hi,
    My UWL (portal) is connected to ECC,SRM and BW system. I would like to see the workitems in UWL based on system alias(System Object).
    Please let me know the procedure to filter work item based on system object

    Hi Rajesh,
    You can achieve the required functionality using the System Configuration Group parameter. Here's what you need to do -
    1.      Partition back end systems into groups. This is accomplished by creating additional UWL iView instances, each of which refers to a specific group of backend systems.
    The group is defined, using the System Configuration Group iView property.
    2.      Then use the value of the System Configuration Group property when registering back end systems by placing it in parameter Configuration Group, when you register the SAP system.

  • Multi value storing format

    Hi there,
    We are running ODSEE11.1.1.5.1 and my question is this.. I want to store multi value in the user entry for a specific attribute. so what is the best way to do... interms of performance and other scalability etc...
    Option1:
    i have more than 50 value for products attribute under one user
    Option2:
    2. dn: uid=Testuser@company,ou=Users,o=company.com
        Products: ABC,XYZ,AAA,BBB
    Can anyone suggest me which one of the above option is best or better?
    Thanks!

    Hello,
    Using multi-valued attribute allows you to search for a specific value.
    Storing several logical values as a single one is more compact however it is considered by LDAP more or less as an opaque string so it prevents you from using the value in a search filter. Adding a new value also mean regenerating the entire value. You' may also have to deal with ordering issues, e.g.  ABC,DEF and DEF,ABC strings are different but are probably equivalent.
    So Option #2 is better from a pure perf and I/O perspective but it generally leads to a more fragile architecture, harder to maintain in the long run and not really LDAP friendly.

  • Filter a query based on virtual characteristic

    Hi,
    I have a query with a virtual characteristic.
    I need to filter the query based on the results in that characteristic.
    Can it be done?
    If not, can I delete records after the stage where the characteristic is filled and before the result of the query appears?
    Thanks,
    Hagit

    Hi Hagit,
    To filter a query on the value of a virtual characteristic value directly would not be possible.
    Please check the below Forum topic and see if the note 1088469 helps you find a solution to your problem.
    Virtual characteristics or key figures load data with BIA/BWA?
    Alternatively, you can think about using a query viewwith filter to filter the virtual characteristic value. Do not have a refined solution suggestion, but you can think in that direction, I guess.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks,
    Abhishek.

  • Filter one table based on user selection

    Hi all ,
              I am creating simple employee data application in VC. It consists of roadmap. On first step user searches for employee by giving first name , last name then he searches for employee and all the data related to employee's is fetched out at one shot through BAPI_EMPLOYEE_GETDATA. Now after step one no of employee comes.
    When I select one record I want that for the selected rows employee's personal data should be fetched out from another table (which is populated during first BAPI call). so I want to pass the selected key value and filter that table based on passed value to table and filter the table .
    Kindly give a solution as to implement filter on a table without making another BAPI call .
    Thanks in advance
    Abhay

    Hi Abhay,
    There's a trick to get a 'dynamic' filter (i.e. a filter that filters on a value that can change) out of the normal static filters:
    Just click on the output of your data source, then 'configure' and on the '+'  - sign in the lower right corner. Add a boolean field called 'condition', for example. Then, you write the condition that filters out the row(s) that you need. In the filter that comes next in the dataflow you just filter on this 'condition' - field being true.
    Hope that helps,
    Sincerely,
    Florian

  • Any performance overhead if we get iterator over values stored in map

    Hi Everybody,
    Is there any performance overhead if we get iterator over values stored in map. like this
    Iterator itr = rolesMap.values().iterator();
    if yes please explain...thanks in advance.

    ejp wrote:
    That's rather out of date. It is how Hashtable works, but as regards HashMap it isn't. The keySet() iterator and the values() iterator are both written in terms of the entrySet() iterator. There is no skipping over unused slots.Out of date? In that case there's been a recent advance in hashed data structures I've missed.
    Or the HashMap implementation has been recently changed to internally link entries to improve iteration performance. I doubt that because such a list would degrade the performance of the HashMap in other ways and that's unacceptable (and unnecessary because of LinkedHashMap).
    Besides, what I said is in the Java 6 API documentation to LinkedHashMap. It may be out of date but I doubt it.
    So here we are with a fact of nature: Any iteration of a hash based data structure will be proportional to capacity rather than the number of entries, unless a supportive list style data structure is introduced to overcome this.

    I wonder if what I want is possible

    OK,
    Now it works. Previously we had the parameter p_guid declared as RAW, which obviously is not any good. :)

  • How do I get data to the from in a form based on a stored procedure

    I would like to create a form based on a stored procedure. I have bound LOV's that lookup the ID of the data that is to be displayed on the form. Then I have a button that reads the database and populates the fields on the form. This is our current UI standard on our portal site, and I need to copy that UI exactly in order to mix HTML DB code with our current portal code because we can not afford to re-write all our code in portal to HTML DB. Can this be done, and how can it be done? Thanks

    We are developing an entire HR system for our organization using portal forms. I am trying to prototype in HTML DB to see if we can switch our future development to this new product. However, we already have 50 or so forms that follow a certain user interface look and feel in portal. I am trying to create this interface look and feel in HTML DB. What we are doing in Portal is have a lookup section at the top of each form where you find the record you want to update with LOV's, sometimes 2 or 3 bound together, and then have a lookup button that does PL/SQL to read the database and populate the fields on the form. Then there is an Update button at the end of the form that takes the fields off the form and passes them to a stored procedure. I can not figure out how to do the Lookup button type of code to read information and bring it to the form when doing a form based on a stored procedure.

  • How to create a new row for a VO based on values from another VO?

    Hi, experts.
    in jdev 11.1.2.3,
    How to create a new row for VO1 based on values from another VO2 in the same page?
    and in my use case it's preferable to do this from the UI rather than from business logic layer(EO).
    Also I have read Frank Nimphius' following blog,but in his example the source VO and the destination VO are the same.
    How-to declaratively create new table rows based on existing row content (20-NOV-2008)
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/13-create-with-params-169140.pdf
    I have tried:
    1.VO1(id,amount,remark1) and VO2(id,amount,remark2) are based on different EO,but render in same page,
    2.Drag and drop a Createwithparams button for VO1(id,amount,remark),
    3.add: Create insertinside Createwithparams->Nameddata(amount),
    4.set NDName:amount, NDValue:#{bindings.VO2.children.Amount}, NDtype:oracle.jbo.domain.Number.
    On running,when press button Createwithparams, cannot create a new row for VO1, and get error msg:
    <Utils> <buildFacesMessage> ADF: Adding the following JSF error message: For input string: "Amount"
    java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "Amount"
         at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(NumberFormatException.java:48)
    Can anyone give some suggestions?

    Hi,CM,
    I'm really very appreciated for your quick reply! You know, today is Saturday, it's not a day for everyone at work.
    My principal requirement is as follows:
    1.select/check some rows from VO2, and for each selection create a new row with some attributes from VO2 as default values for VO1's corresponding attributes, and during this process the user may be cancel/uncheck or redo some of the selections.
    --so it's better to implement it in UI rather than in EO.
    2.it's better to implement this function with declarative way as in Frank Nimphius' blog.
    --little Jave/JS coding, the better. I only have experience in ORACLE FORMS, little experience in JAVA/JS.
    In order to get full information for the requirements of my use case, can take a check at:
    How to set default value for a VO query bind variable in a jspx page?
    (the end half of the thread: I have a more realworld requirement similar to the above requirement is:
    Manage bank transactions for clients. and give invoices to clients according to their transaction records. One invoice can contain one or many transactions records. and one transaction records can be split into many invoices.

    Hi,
    Using OVS you can achieve this.,  In OVS Event Handler read the value based on which you  want to display F4 for other field and populate the values based on the first field.
    this link is fine., go through this: http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/606288d6-04c6-2c10-b5ae-a240304c88ea?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true

    What i have done till now is as follow:
    1. Got employee id from HTML page.
    2. Compared it with the id stored in the database.
    3. If the id is correct then pulled the record of the corresponding employee and stored it in the session object.
    4. Dispatched the session values to another servlet EditEmpDetails2.java
    what i need to do now

    6. I also need to be able to edit those vales and store the edited values in the database.
    Please help me as i have tried doing it for 1 week without any clues
    i have tried to create a html page which is something like this:

    System.out.println(stat);
    stat.setString(1,X);
    ResultSet rs = stat.executeQuery();
    while(rs.next())
    String Z = rs.getString(password);
    if(Z.equals(X))
    String A = rs.getString(1);
    session.setAttribute("employeeid", A);

    dispatcher.forward(request,response);
    catch (Exception e)
    system.out.println(e)
    I do not know how to put the values stored in the session object into the html text box

    3. If the id is correct then pulled the record of the corresponding employee and stored it in the session object.do you really need to store this in session object?
    5. Now i need to set the session values in the text field of the html form which form? in a new html/jsp page? i suggest go for a JSP
    In your JSP page use JSP expression tags to put the session attributes.
    it's something like : <input type='text' name='employeeid' value='<%= session.getAttribute("employeeid") %>' >and you need to generateanother servlet for saving the details/modifications to the database.
    I think i m clear enough.
    if you need more clarifications. just try it and then post your problem.
