Table 2 = "Option id Master"
Table 3 = "Export - Product Info"

The user would enter values for "productcode," "Horz," and "Vert"
"Size" would auto fill based on values in Horiz and Vert (I have this taken care of already).
Table 2: This is a completely static table that I want to search against. - Data from other tables in the doc does not alter or change the data in this doc.
We just want to look at table 2. Find the existing value in "table 2 : size" column that matches the "table 1 : size" column and then pull the "optionids" and "productprice" from that row.
Can the value from "Table 1 : Size" be used as a search term in "Table 2 : Size?"
Table 3: The user does not enter any values on this table.
"productcode" is pulled from table 1 - "Table 1 :: A5" = "Table 3 :: A5"
"optionids" and "productprice" are pulled from Table 2 columns "D" and "E" - however we do not know which Table 2 row it is pulling from until we enter data in Table 1.
As I'm writing this I'm realizing that
A. this is probably really confusing to you.
B. this may be impossible inside of numbers.
If you have some other method that would facilitate the same out come but be structured differently please let me know.
--- maybe to help you understand further what I am doing here is my current workflow:
I record the size of a piece of art.
Then I manually go to my "Option id Master" and find the same size.
I then copy the corresponding "optionids" and "productprice" cells. (these options control the prices displayed on my website)
I got to my "Export - Product Info" table and paste the values in the corresponding cells.
I was hoping to automate this as it takes a long time when you have hundreds of products.

At first, extract test is OK. But InfoPackage never stop when loading data to PSA in BW.

How can i convert the data from mutiple-table to the other database such as MS-SQL?
I have a third party system based on MS-SQL 2000.
Now we want to make a integration between SAP R/3(Oracle) and SQL server.
When my user releases the purchase order in R/3, the application we coded will convert the releated data to the temp database on the SQL server.
But i don't know which tools will help me reach the purpose. BAPI, LSMW, IDoc... ???
Would anybody tell me which way is better and how to do?

The question to use which method depend on your detail requirements. If you use BAPI, you need to find which Bapi can provide the data you want. Bapi normally use as a function called by external system. So you need to develop an external program like VB/Java to call this Bapi and move it to SQL. LSMW is use when you want to upload data from an external system to SAP. So it does not serve your requirement. Idoc can be use to export data to an external system. Again like Bapi, you need to find what Idoc can provide the data you want. However, it does not any programming from the external system. If I were you, based on your requirements, I think writing an Abap program that read the data you want and download it to NT/SQL server will be faster and easier. -
Deleting data from a table where there are no indexes on the table

We have one interface program for one time process.When I was testing the process it was taking too much time to load the data around 1000 records.
it happens in 2 steps
1 puts into stage table
2 puts into base table
in the process/package I have delete statement that deletes data from stage table before each process.
Stage table did not have any indexes but the base table has(obvisiosly)
any idea?

Please enable trace on this concurrent program as per (Note: 296559.1 - FAQ: Common Tracing Techniques within the Oracle Applications 11i/R12) and generate the TKPROF to find out why it takes that long to load/delete the data.

Deleting a row from parent table

I am having two table with parent - child relationship. My problem is when I am deleting a row from parent table the curresponding child row from child table also should be deleted.
My Primary table 'Employee, EMPID Primary key
Child table 'Privilage' inthis EMPID referencing the EMPID of Employee table
My need is when I am deleting a row from parent table the curresponding child row from child table also should be deleted
I issued the SQL query like,
delete from employee where empid='12345' cascade constraints;
Then it showing me error like,
ERROR at line 1:
ORA-00933: SQL command not properly ended
Please resolve my issue , Its Top urgent

I Have a requiremnt for creating custom portal activity report ,even though
we have standard report, the extraced data will be used to create bw reports later.
my part is to find a way to extract the data from PCD tables for creating
custom portal activity reports
i have selected the following tables for the data extraction
WCR_USERSTAT,WCR_WEBCONTENTSTAT,WCR_USERFIRSTLOGON,
WCR_USERPAGEUSAGE.
My questions are
1.Did i select the Exact PCD tables?
2.Can i use UME api for accessing the data from those tables?
3.can i use the data extracted from PCD tables in JSPdynpage or
webdynpro apps?
4.can i Querry the PCD tables from JSPDynpage or Webdynpro

Reading data from multiple tables on Apex
Hi All,
My apologies if the below question has been answered already, just that I could not find the relevant discussion.
I have an interactive report that I would like to use to display data from 2 tables:
Table 1 has about 10 columns but I just want to display 3 of those columns, field1, field2 & field3.
Table 2 has about 5 columns and I only want to display 2 of these columns(Column1 & Column2) on the same report with the above columns from table 1.
I need my report to look like this: field1 field2 field3 Column1 Column2
from table1, table2
I tried the above example and it seems not to be working, may I please get some assistance on how to achieve this.

Thanks for your response, I've actually found and answer the question.
I wanted to display data from 2 separate tables(views) that did not have joints, and so hence I could not join them with a join condition.
What I did was to created a dummy field on both tables with similar values and joined the tables using those dummy fields and it works perfect.

Using FDM Import Action script to import data from ERPI table "tdataseg_t"
Hi Experts
I have extracted data from EBS using ERPI and loaded into the intermediate table "tdataseg_t"
I am trying to use Import Action script within FDM to extract data from "tdataseg_t" table (where ERPI extract data is stored) as i could not use the normal import script.
Requirement : I have to restrict the custom 2 dimension based on Account dimension.
Dim Account
Account = ???? ( i am struck here)
If Account = 1000 to 5000 Then
Custom2 = Right( product , 5)
End If
but , I could not find the exact syntax to call the Account dimension from the "tdataseg_t" table.
Please Advise

Importing data via a manual script defeats the purpose of ERPi. As it will not provide you an audit trail, drill-through/drill-back, etc.
Your best bet is to use the default settings by the software. Just because it returns more records than you want is not a bad thing. You can conditionally change/alter the information either in an EventScript inside of FDM or by mapping the un-needed information to IGNORE.

I am working on a report where i need to get the data from few tables and get it displayed, in the requirement I need to get some data from REGUP based on the vendor and then I am trying to retrieve the information from PAYR table such as check #, check date. So far I have tried selecting the information from REGUP using the vendor number entered by the user and then I am doing a select on PAYR to get the other information for all the entries in my REGUP internal table. Using a simple select statement is taking lot of time and I am having performance issues, can you please suggest any better approach? I understand REGUP is a huge table.

RUGUH is Payment header table and REGUP is payment item table.
If your basic requirement is to pick data from PAYR table only then why don't you write query as below,
Select
laufd
laufi
hktid
hbkid
from reguh
into table it_data_reguh
where ZBUKR = 'ZTC'
AND lifnr in s_lifnr.
sort it_data_reguH.
select chect
bancd
for all entries in it_data_reguH
into table it_data_payr
where ZBUKR = 'ZTC'
AND hbkid = it_data_reguH-hbkid
AND HKTID = it_data_reguH-hKTid
AND laufd = it_data_reguH-laufd
and laufi = it_data_reguH-laufi.
After doing above you can pick entries from REGUP if required as REGUP contains item details against the paymnt header details IN REGUH, you will also find all key fields of REGUP table from REGUH table hence your performance will definitely get improve.

Moving Data from Normal table to History tables
Hi All,
I'm in the process of moving data from normal tables to
History tables.
It can be some sort of a procedure which should be a cron job running at night.
My aim is to move data say 1.5 yrs or 2yrs old data to History tables.
What aspects i need to check when moving data. And how can i write a procedure for this requirement.
The schema is same in both the normal table and history table.
It has to be a procedure based on particular field RCRE_DT.
If the rcre_dt is above 2 yrs the data needs to be moved to HIS_<table>.
I have to insert record in to HIS_table and simultaneously delete record from the normal table.
This is in Production system and the tables are quite big.
Pls do find enclosed the attached sample schema for Normal table and HIS_<table>.
If i want to automate this script as a Cron job for similarly other History tables
how am i to do it in a single procedure assuming the procedure for moving the data is the same procedure.

Thanks for ur valuable suggestion.But can u explain me bit more on this as i'm still confused about switching between partitoned tables and temporary table.Suppose if i have a table called PXM_FLT and an correspoding similar table named HIS_PXM_FLT.How can i do the partitioning shd i do the partitioning on the normal table or HIS_PXM_FLT.i do have a date field for me to partition based on range.Can u pls explain why shd i again create a temp.table.What's the purpose.Now the application is designed in such a way that old records have to be moved to HIS_PXM_FLT.can u pls highlight more on this.Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.As i'm relatively new to this partitioning technique i'm bit confused on how it works.But i came to understand Partitioning is a better operation than the normal insert or delte as it is more data intensive as millions of record need to be moved.Thanks for feedback and ur precious time. -
How to get data from large table (more than 9 million rows) by EJB?
I have a giant table, it has more than 9 million rows.
I want to use ejb finders method to get data from this table but always get not enough memory error or time out error,
Can anyone give me solutions?
ThxYour problem may be that you are simply trying to load so many objects (found by your finder) that you are exceeding available memory. For example if each object is 100 bytes and you try to load 1,000,000 objects thats 100Mb of memory gone.
You could try increasing the amount of memory available to OC4J with the appropriate argument on the command line (or in the 10gAS console). For example to make 1Gb available to OC4J you would add the argument:
-Xmx1000m
Of course you need have this available as hard memory on your server or you will incur serious swapping.
