Find mode of execution of a report program

Hi,
How can i find if the execution of the report is online or via batch mode.
I need to store different results depending on the mode of execution of the report.

Hi,
The system variable SY-BATCH identifies whether the report is run online or in background. You can differentiate this using SY-BATCH.
IF SY-BATCH = 'X'.
write: 'Report is run in background'.
ELSE.
write: 'Report is run in foreground'.
ENDIF.

I have tried se80. It lists all the subroutinues.
Is there any way to find which subroutinue is called from which part.
Say For eg:
GET_DETAILS subroutinue is called in main program and
PUT_DETAILS.subroutinue is called inside the GET_DETAILS.
So the output says
Report Name has
GET DETAILS has
PUT_DETAILS

In se 38 when u open ur program,in the application toolbar u have a button beside the where-used list button as display object list.on clicking this button,a window will be opened at the left most corner for repository browser,in this u can find any tranasctions,fileds,screens,dictionary structures defined for the program.
if any transaction is created for the program u can find it under the transaction folder.
revert back for further queries.

I have one report program with some ' WRITE ' statement (Write : / ' This is SAP world ' .)..For this report program i have got the output as ( This is SAP world ) .
My requirement is i want to edit this statement (This is SAP world ) in the out put screen ,after that i want to perform some other steps...

Output : This is SAP world..
After the execution of the report program i have got the output
(This is SAP world ). then i need to edit this line for further requirement...Please help me out for this

Execution of workflow automation failed due to "Could not find a part of the path 'D:\Program

Hi,
Execution of workflow automation failed due to "Could not find a part of the path 'D:\Program Files\NetApp\WFA\jboss\standalone\tmp\wfa\workflow_data\35517.xml"
Netapp case has been raised and confirmed there is no issue with the WFA application, no clue to diagnose the issue.
Execution fails continously 3 or 4 runs then get success, intermittent failure occurs.
WFA version :2.2
OS: Windows 2008
Can someone please help me to fix the issue?

HOw to find Report program associated module pool program?

HOw to find Report program associated module pool program?
I.e
Me21n is the tcode.I want to find screens related to this tcode.
Associated report program is RM_MEPO_GUI.(It has no screens hence it is a report program).
(if module program is attached to tcode,i can easily find entries in d020s)
Here report program is calling a module pool program SAPLMEGUI(Has screens).
If i give the Tcode Me21n,i want to list out all the screens of it..
Can u give any suggestion....

Manually i can see it (by seeing in system-status)..
programmatically i want to know..
for ex:if u take Tcode:Va01
we can get program (dialog) and tcode in Tstc table .
If we know the program name(dialog), we can find program and screens in d020s table.
Va01 is atatched to a module pool program..No problem to find screens..
In case of me21n,
It is atatched to report program(calling module pool program)..
Here i could not be able to get the screens ..
I think u undrstood my problem..

There's no tools to do that, u can only find out the program where a string with the name of your smartform is: probably it'll be your program.
U can try to use the program RPR_ABAP_SOURCE_SCAN in order to looking for a string a abap program.
But if the name of smartform is transfer to program dinamycally, u've few chances.

List of unused custom report programs

Hello,
I have to develop a report though which we can find the list of unused program based on the selection date given in the selection screen. So, Is there any way through which we can find when was the Z* programs executes last time???
I checked with the transaction STAD and ST03N.. but I didnt find it helpful.. because I want to see the list of programs for the past 1 year.
Any suggestion will be helpful..

Thanks for the reply... I checked that table and it is having last change date of the code.. But my requirement is to find out the last execution date of the program.. Means.. when was the Z* programs runs last time.

Hi Harsh,
The problem with the report will be mostly due to the select queries.
So better do one thing, execute your program in debug mode, keep a break point before the select query, activate the trace in ST05 transaction and after executing the select query deactivate the trace
Now look in display trace for the time it takes for the query.
you can follow the same method for each query and check which query takes a long time and rectify that.
To reduce ABAP/4 program runtime, always follow the ABAP/4 program optimization techniques given below:
1. Avoid 'SELECT *'. Instead use select with field names i.e. SELECT f1 f2 f3 and so on.
2. Use table (primary) keys (as far as possible) in the WHERE clause of the select statements. Else, check for secondary indexes.
3. Avoid nested selects or nested loops.
4. Use binary search wherever possible.
5. Avoid use of joins in the select queries.
5. You can evaluate the performance using GET RUN TIME command for small pieces of program. Try using this statement for SELECT queries to know how much time your SELECT query takes to execute.
Example
DATA: gv_runtime1       TYPE i,
      gv_runtime2       TYPE i,
      gv_final          TYPE i.
GET RUN TIME FIELD gv_runtime1.
SELECTu2026u2026
GET RUN TIME FIELD gv_runtime2.
gv_final = gv_runtime2 - gv_runtime1.
WRITE: 'Execution time=', gv_final.

Vaue of sy-tcode when executing the report program in the background

Hello All,
To test and find out the value of sy-tcode when the report program is exectued in the background. I have done the below steps.
1. created a report program with the code given below.
Select option was just defiend to get the selection screen. it is of no use.
Select-options: s_name for sy-uname.
Write:/ sy-uname,sy-tcode.
2. then I created a transaction for the program to identify whether the value of sy-tcode explicitly.
3. Then I launched the transaction and in the selection screen of the program I selected the option of executing the program in the backgroung and i process the job immediately.
4 . In the spool I am able to see the correct sy-uname value but not the sy-tcode.
Where as if i am executing it in the foregroung it is giving the correct value of sy-uname and sy-tcode.
Can anybody provide me the reason as to why this is happening . that is in the backgound mode the value of sy-tcode is getting cleared.

As they say it is an SAP standard behavior, you can "hardcode" the transaction itself into the ABAP code...
ie:
if sy-batch eq 'X' "->IT MEANS THAT IT IS A BACKGROUND JOB.
w_tcode = 'Z*****'.
else.
endif.

How to grant access to a Oracle Report Program

I am checking/debugging our clients registered customized report program setup.
I want to grant the program to my ID so I can test print and see its output.
The steps I followed are the ff:
A.
System Administrator resp: Concurrent Program > Executable :
Executable : CEC2CREC
Application : ABC Customizations
Execution Method : Oracle Reports
Execution File Name: CEC2CREC
B.
System Administrator resp: Concurrent Program > Define :
Program : Bank Reconciliation Report ( 2 Column )
Short Name : CEC2CREC
Application : ABC Customizations
Executsble Method : Oracle Reports
Executable Name : CEC2CREC
I want to grant this program "Bank Reconciliation Report ( 2 Column )" to my USERID.
I followed these steps:
- Login to System Administrator responsibility
- Navigate to Security > Responsibility > Define
- Query the "ABC Customization" responsibility
But I can not find any "ABC Customization" responsibility
Is there other way to test run the program?

But I can not find any "ABC Customization" responsibility According to the above, "ABC Customizations" is an executable file (concurrent program) and not a responsibility. From (Security > Responsibility > Define), query the responsibility which is assigned to the user, and check the "Request Group" which is attached to this responsibility, then navigate to (Security > Responsibility > Request) and add "ABC Customization" request to the request group.

Problem WIth Variant in a report program

I have a z report program with couple of variants , the problem is the varaints display onlt name of the variant and description when the varaint button is pressed.
The changed by , date etc details are not getting displayed.

Hi Arun,
You will not get those data directly from the program execution screen. If you want to get those details, please check table VARID for that variant or program.
