Finder's search-progress indicator missing: Yosemite

Hi,
I've been searching high and low for weeks about this, but have yet to see anything.  I hope I'm typing in the wrong keywords because my issue is very frustrating.
When searching using the finder with Yosemite 10.2, there isn't a spinning circle or bar or anything to indicate that a search is happening.
I don't know if it hasn't found anything at all, or if it's frozen, or if it's still searching.  Is there a way to bring back the search progress circle to Yosemite? Or an option to turn it on that I'm missing?  Thanks.  Let me know if you need any other info.
Specs:
Yosemite 10.2
2.9 GHz Intel Core i5
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 1024 MN

Oh my goodness, thanks so much!  I am curious why that fix never popped up in searches when I googled it.  I never did type in "status" though.
Thanks again =)

  • How to reposition interactive report (IR) search progress indicator?

    I would like to place this "rotating circle" lower than it is now - or even in the middle of the screen.
    Igor

    Hello Igor,
    The location of that spinning thing comes from this setting in apex_3_1.css:
    #apexir_LOADER
    left:48%;
    position:absolute;
    top:4px;
    }You can override that by putting this code in your PAge HTML Header
    <style type="text/css">
    #apexir_LOADER{
    left:48%;
    position:absolute;
    top:48%;
    </style>Then the circle appears somewhere in the middle of your page.

  • Spotlight and Find search criteria is missing

    When I try to do a "find" from the finder or "show search criteria" when using spotlight most of the search criteria is missing. Nothing is listed under "other". A minimal amount of options are available is I choose "date" or "kind".
    Where is the list of search criteria stored and how can I get it back into the find feature?

    Most like a component of the Spotlight.app which resides in /System/FInder/CoreServices/. Where? I don't know. Maybe the simplest thing to do is retrieve it from your Time Machine backup or bootable backup/clone. Barring that, download Pacifist and extract it from your install disk and replace the faulty one. Once, you've done that and solved the problem, reinstall the latest COMBO update.

    Can anyone suggest me where i am doing wrong.
    Any help is appreciated,
    Thanks in advance!!

    Hi Prakash,
    Do not use Data Binding tab to bind the Drop down,
    Select Specify Item Values
    There in binding tab specify binding and there are few more options to specify Item Text and Item Value.
    Please find the below screenshot for the same.

  • Can we have our custom name in the place of Progress Indicator ?

    Hello all..
    I am using Captivate 4. I would like to use a custom name "Prasna"(means the word "question' in a local language) instead of the word "Question". How can I change it as per my requirement. In the progress indicator window, there are only 2 options where I couldn't find what I need.
    Thanks & regards,
    Pullela.

    Hello Pullela,
    For once you are lucky to use Captivate 4, because this feature was lost in CP5. It is a bit cumbersome but possible: choose File Export Captions to Word (do not remember the exact phrasing, sorry). In the Word document you will see the progess indicators, and you'll be able to change the word Question. Then re-import without changing the filename in the Captivate file.
    For CP5-users I posted an alternative workaround on my blog recently; it uses the master slide, but you could also tweak this for CP4, you'll have to copy/paste to all slides:

  • Display Progress Indicator in the Run Time

    Hi All,
    How do display Progress Indicator in the Run Time for a JSF Page using ADF components?
    Regards
    Santosh

    I have similar problem.
    Basically my page do search in the database which takes some time. so when search starts I would like to display the progress indicator or some thing which will show some processging is going on in background. Once it completes the background processing, the same page displays the result. At this time I want to hide the progress indicator.
    Is there any way to do this. I am using EA17 with JDev.

  • Flashing folder with "?" instead of startup progress indicator

    My computer froze and starting making a clicking noise yesterday. The clicking noise is mechanical, not from the speakers (I'm thinking from the drive heads?). After waiting for about a minute, I held down the power button to turn the computer off. When I turned it back on the clicking noise was still there and instead of the startup progress indicator circle there was a large gray folder with a question mark on it. The computer remains on this screen without loading any further.
    Possibly relevant information:
    - The computer had not been moved or dropped preceeding this occurrence. It was just sitting there as it had been for the last hour or so.
    - Earlier in the day I was attempting to stream a video over the internet but accidently clicked the download icon (it was right next to the streaming one). I tried to stop the download as soon as I noticed (maybe 10 seconds) and do not think I ran anything from it.
    Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

    Thanks for the welcome and thanks especially for the help!
    I tried to boot while holding down the Option key. The background color changed from grey to blue and the pointer appeared, but the Startup Manager never came up.
    I tried to run the Apple Hardware Test from my install disk by following the directions you provided. The computer began reinstalling OS, but I was never prompted to run the Hardware Test. At the point when I was asked where to locate the OS the computer did not find any locations in which to put it, i.e. I don't think it recognized the harddrive.
    When the above didn't work I tried to run the Apple Hardware Test from the support disk that came with my AppleCare Plan (as per instructions). Nothing happened. The Test never came up.
    I bought my Mac new in March of 2007. I do have AppleCare. Should I bring it in to an AppleStore to be looked at? Or is there something else I should do?
    Again, thanks so much!

  • Table cell progress indicator

    I see in the JavaFX 2.2 API that there is a table cell implementation for rendering a progress bar. However, it appears that this only supports the progress indicator that takes an incremental update value (as a double, presumably a value between 0 and 1?) to adjust the "progress" in the indicator. There does not appear to be any support for an indeterminate progress indicator that can be embedded in a table cell.
    I am asking because I have a situation where there will be a background task that will be launched potentially for any row in a table. The task may take some time to execute and complete and I would like to show an indeterminate progress indicator that will "spin" until the task completes. I wanted to be able to include this as a cell (column) for each row so that individual rows could indicate whether they were currently "working" or done.
    Is there, or will there be in the near future, support for this type of functionality? Or, are there suggestions on a way to cobble together something that can do this?

    Copy and paste the ProgressBarTableCell code and search and replace ProgressBar with ProgressIndicator on it.
    http://hg.openjdk.java.net/openjfx/8/master/rt/file/tip/javafx-ui-controls/src/javafx/scene/control/cell/ProgressBarTableCell.java
    Here's a minor update to the great example James put together which does this.
    Seems to work fine. Only issue I see when running it on a recent jdk8 version is that the indeterminate progress indicator is a bit too big, then the whole indicator shrinks a little bit once the indicator switches to reporting percentage progress. I didn't investigate that any further, likely it's a minor styling bug in the new JavaFX modena style sheet for Java 8 which you could work around by applying your own style to indeterminate progress indicators.

  • No progress indicator or report for Tools menu sequence execution?

    I have a sequence that I call from the TestStand customized Tools menu.
    This sequence generates custom reports on sequences. The report generation
    process can take anywhere from 10 to 60 seconds (there are DB queries
    involved).
    I hoped to use the TestStand progress indicator to display the report
    generation progress and the Report.Load method to display the report to the
    user when its done.
    If I set a breakpoint on the first step of the report generation sequence
    and run it, everything works as expected after I proceed from the break
    point. The progress indicator comes up and updates itself. And the
    operator gets a copy of the report in the Report tab of the execution
    window.
    However, if I don't set a bre
    akpoint, an execution window never pops up. No
    progress indicator, no report when done.
    I assume its got to do with interactive v. non-interactive execution. Is
    there a way to force a Tools menu sequence to execute as an interactive
    execution so I get the execution window to pop up?

    Thanks. I forgot to mention that I'd tried that... still no luck. I added
    the RunState.Tracing = True as a statement as the first step in my Tools
    seqeunce call. The execution window still does not appear. Is there some
    place special this statement needs to be?
    Are there any global setting
    s that override the Tracing flag? If I check
    Enable Tracing in Station Options, while the window pops up, the execution
    takes unacceptably long as TestStand traces every single step, even when
    tracing speed is set to max. I can't find any other setting that seems
    related to this...
    Any other ideas?
