Finding  difference from cross tab 2 cols

we have cross tabbed report congaing 2 cols. day1 and day2. we need to get the difference of amounts in day1 and day2. day1 and day2 are refer to a same object. we can do the sum, avg , etc... but not the DIFF. variable editor wont help.
any suggestions please.

The formula looks something like this:
=sum([Amount]) Where ([Day] = 'Day 2') - sum([Amount]) Where ([Day] = 'Day 1')
For what it's worth, this was a built-in feature for Desktop Intelligence, where it could generate this formula for you. The capability is still there, you just have to create the formula yourself instead of clicking a button.

  • Build the Bar chart from Cross Tab which have 3 measures with cell refr.cal

Hello Friends. I want to Build the Bar chart from Cross Tab which have 3 measures with Actual , Plan and Forecast
But Issue here is each cell is defferent like i have to do different calculation for each cell for actual, plan, forecast
    like A = Jan act/Budget actual, Where as B = Feb Act/ Jan Budg+Febbdgt_March Budget
So now when I right click to say turn to Chart it is not generating the chart
Please help how to build bar chart since i do not have 1 key figure which i can drag and drop in view structure of chart so how to handle this
Jan,  Feb, March, Aprl, May, June
    Actual                  A       B       C     D
    Plan                     N       M       O     P
    Forecast
    SONIYA

    Hi Soniya,
It will be better if you can get these keyfigures calculated from the BEx with the help of structures in the BEx.
At the report level it will be complex to create these variables and also not sure whether going to work:
But you can try something like this:
A= If (L01 Moths="JAN") then Sum (Actual)/Sum (Bud) Else 0 similarly for other months.
Then you need to create one more variable (measure) which should be plotted on the chart as:
    Final Act = If([L01 Month]="JAN") Then A ElseIf([L01 Month]="FEB") Then B ElseIf([L01 Month]="MAR") Then C
    Final Plan= If([L01 Month]="JAN") Then N ElseIf([L01 Month]="FEB") Then M ElseIf([L01 Month]="MAR") Then O
similarly you have to create variables for Forecast, then finally you can plot final 3 variables in the graph.
    Hope it helps you.
    Regards,
    Rohit

  • How to calculate difference in cross tab report

    Hello All,
I have a cross tab report . I have values for 2 KPI's no of employees joined and no of employees left organization on monthly basis.
I want to calculate employees Joined - employees left organization.
Please let me know how can we achieve this.
    PFA the sample report.
    Regards
    Prasad Ambati

    Hi Prasad,
I think you want the difference between the two columns in the cross tab i.e.
"Count of Joinees" (lets say V1) and "Count of employees left the organisation" (lets say V2)
For achieving this you can do:
    1. Create a variable V1 (as measure) for "Count of Joinees" as you have already used in your cross tab (1st Column), just create a variable for it.
    2. Create another variable V2 (as measure) for "Count of employees left the organisation" as you have already used in your cross tab (2nd column) just create a variable for it.
    3. Add a column next to "SUM" insert the formula =[V1]-[V2]
I think this should work just try it.
    Thanks,

  • Exclude rows from cross-tab

I have a cross-tab in my report.  I am relatively new and hope this isn't a "dumb" question".   There are columns which are averages of data aggregated by week.  The last column is average over 4 weeks.
I only want the report to show those rows where the total column is above 70.  How do I filter the rows to show only those columns above a pre-defined threshhold.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ken

    If you have the same grouping within the report as in the crosstab then you can create a formula that outputs the row field when the summary is greater than 70, i.e;
    if sum({cust.sales}, {cust.region}) > 70 then {cust.region}
Use this formula as the crosstab row as opposed to the database field

  • Oracle 11g sql to find difference from two table data

I have two tables ACTUAL AND ESTIMATE having unique column(sal_id, gal_id) and amount, tax, date columns.
    ACTUAL table
    actual_id, sal_id, gal_id, process_flag, amount, tax     date
    A1 101 201 Y 10 1 27-Aug-12
    A2 102 202 Y 20 2 27-Aug-12
    A3 102 202 N 30 3 29-Aug-12
    A4 302 402 N 40 3 30-Aug-12
    ESTIMATE table
    estimate_id, sal_id, gal_id, process_flag, amount, tax  date
    E1 301 401 Y 5 1 19-Aug-12
    E2 302 402 Y 45 4 20-Aug-12
    E3 302 402 Y 50 5 25-Aug-12
    E4 301 403 Y 10 2 27-Aug-12
    E5 301 403 N 15 3 28-Aug-12
    E6 101 201 Y 12 3 29-Aug-12
Now My FINAL table, 1) Should have record for unprocessed (process_flag='N') from ACTUAL/ESTIMATE table for difference in amount and tax for (sal_id + gal_id) combination. If more than one processed record there, then max (date) should be consider.
    FINAL table
    actual_id, estimate_id, sal_id, gal_id, amount, tax
    A3 null 102 202 10 1 (A3-A2 actual-actual)
    A4 null 302 402 -10 -2 (A4-E3 actual-estimate with max date)
    null E5 301 403 5 1 (E5-E4 estimate-estimate)
    null E6 101 201 2 2 (E6-A1 estimate-actual)
    So basically I need a query for (A-A) U (B-B) U (A-B) U (B-A).
I am using Oracle 11g Please help me.

  • Switching from cross tab to tabular format

How can I change from crosstab to tabular format on an existing report?
    Please email to [email protected]
    Thanks very much.
    Cherie Machler

    Hi Cherie
As suggested by Mohamed you can duplicate a worksheet as a table from a crosstab, however to answer your particular question you cannot change a worksheet style. Once it has been set to either crosstab or table that's the way it must remain. The solution would be to replicate the worksheet as the other style.

  • Conditional highlighting on cross-tabs

Does anyone know if it is possible to conditionally highlight a field in cross-tab based on another field in the table? The field we're using to condition is not in the cross-tab, nor do we want it to be in the cross-tab. We need to highlight a report field based on another field from each record reported. Highlight expert won't let you highlight the field unless the field is in the cross-tab.

    yes it is possible
Select the field from Cross Tab which you want to Highlight Right Click Select the Format Field
    Select the Font TabÂ
Select the formula button next to color
    Then enter the formula
IF field not in cross tab = somevalue then
mention the Color Code which you want....

  • Pass a shared variable from a sub-report into cross-tab

    Hello everyone!
I need to pass a calculated value in a shared variable from a sub-report into a croos-tab in the Group footer of the main report. When I place this variable in the group footer I can see the value, when I use this variable in the Cross-tab, it is 0.
    In the Sub Report:
    whileprintingrecords;
    shared numberVar Total_SF;
    Total_SF:= calculation.
    In the Main report:
    whileprintingrecords;
    shared numberVar Total_SF;
In the Cross-Tab I am using the above formula from the main report.
Do you guys know what I need to do for this to work?
    Thank you,
    T.

    Hey Tat,
I have learned to avoid passing shared variable from sub reports back to main reports.  You just always seem to run into issues with execution order.
Personally, I try to create a shell report and add sub reports, calculating the values I need in the first sub report and pass the values to subsequent sub reports using shared variables.  I'd recommend thinking about arranging your reports like this during your design time.  It has saved me some headaches.

  • Cross Tab Report not matching Data from report

I created a report showing the number of orders created by each department per year for the last 5 years.  I double checked the data, and 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2009 all are correct.
I then created a cross-tab for quick reference for my department head.  2005, 2006, 2007, and 2009 are all correct.  2008 is not. It shows 500 more orders than the data in the report for that year.
I double checked my  "Group options" to make sure that they were the same in both the data and in the crosstabs.  Any idea what I could be missing?
    Thank you.

Try this, limit the report to only 2008, show details, add date to detail section, and add the record number (From special fields)
see if this count matches what you think it should be, or is 500 over like the crosstab indicates.  You could group by date, by month, add a summary (Count) by date, and see what that comes up to.  If your extra records fall in a certain date range, double check the database to make sure there are not duplicate records.

  • I did not find any difference from my iPad 2 and iPad 3?

I did not find any difference from my iPad 2 and my iPad 3, I am wondering did they sell me the same iPad

Look at the model number on the back of the box and enter that number into a Google search. That will tell you wich model you have.
The new iPad comes in a box that simply says iPad on it so you can probably rest assured that you did receive the new iPad, but do the Google search if it makes you feel better.
    Try here as well.

  • SQL query to find differences (changes) between tables (from one table) where field names are different

    Hi All,
I am looking to create a view which returns new or modified data (differences) based on a comparison between two tables.
The EMP_SOURCE table stores all employee data including duplicate staff numbers (STAFFNO):
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EMP_SOURCE](
    [FULLNAME] [varchar](255) NULL,
    [JOBTITLE] [varchar](255) NULL,
    [LOCATION] [varchar](255) NULL,
    [COUNTRY] [varchar](255) NULL,
    [STAFFNO] [varchar](255) NULL
    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    GO
The EMP table stores unique staff numbers. This is the table used by the application.
    CREATE TABLE [dbo].[EMP](
    [EMP_ID] [int] NOT NULL,
    [EMP_NAME] [varchar](255) NULL,
    [EMP_TITLE] [varchar](255) NULL,

    ) ON [PRIMARY]
    GO
We are looking to migrate data from EMP_SOURCE to EMP but only records which are new in EMP_SOURCE and do not exist in EMP or records which are different in EMP_SOURCE from EMP.
