Finding file menu when I open iTunes
When I open itunes how do I find the file menu to click on
I know, people get mixed up and post in the wrong forum. It happens. On a Windows machine the Menu Bar in iTunes 11 is not present by default and that's what the OP read like to me.

Help - I can't find the "File" menu when I open iTunes
I am trying to transfer a music file from my Mac to iTunes. Directions state to click on the "File" menu when you open iTunes - but, seriously, I can't find a "File" menu item. Help - I am tech challenged. Thanks.
You might need to bring up the menu bar to see the File menu.
If you're using a version 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot: -

If you're using Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

I purchased moves from my ipad through itunes. They downloaded and I synched them to my computer. I cannot find them on my ipad. I open itunes click on Movies and it takes me to the movie library to purchase more movies. Where did my purchased movies go on my ipad?
They should have downloaded into the Videos app (iTunes on the iPad is just the iTunes store) :
If they aren't in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them ? -
Can't find the button when you open Itunes to register Ipod
I just purchased an Ipod nano yesterday. I downloaded Itunes and I can't find the button on the main screen to click 'register now'. I can't scroll over to find it either. Now it is showing register never or register later (as it has been showing). I went and manually registered it on the website but still don't really have access to deleting songs from my Ipod and so forth...please help.
Change the screen resolution to a higher setting on your PC, you will then be able to see more of the iTunes window.

When I open iTunes it takes like 2 min to let me play music
I have an external drive with 200GB of music (aiff files mostly), when I open iTunes the cursor becomes in to the multi color spinning disc, it remains like that for 2 min, at the same time external hard drive starts running, in the meantime there is nothing I can do on iTunes. Once the external drive stops the cursor becomes an arrow again and then everything works
I've been using iTunes like this for many years and I've never had a problem like this, aparently it happens since I updated iTunes to 7.5.
Does it make sense? it's really annoying to wait 2 min everytime I want to open iTunes, please help!Click on your preference and check the Parental tab for possible restrictions. Open iTunes, then click the iTunes menu, select preferences after the window opens click on the Parental icon, take a look at the content restrictions section.

I am trying to authorise a new lap top for my itunes account. The instructions to me to open my itunes and go to Store then choose "Authorize this computor" or if using an older version of itunes to go to the Advanced menu. Neither of these two items appear under "Store" when I open itunes. Am I in the wrong "Store" as I cannot locate anything thing similar on the open itunes.

Bob,
They did not mean the Store; they meant the Store menu on the iTunes menu bar! It is in a row with File, Edit, View, Controls, Store, and Help, as shown below.
If you don't see the menu bar, enable it by holding the CTRL key and pressing B. -
I received a psd file created in CS6 for MAC, I am unable to find the layers when I open it in photoshop in Windows. What can i do to edit the files? What can be done so that I can either open and see the layers or how can the sender save it in a way that it doesn't "merge" the layers in some way to just one?
Could try saving as tiff provided layers and transparency are chosen at the time of saving. But it's hard to give a definitive answer as it depends on the final usage. For example PSD's tend to work better in applications like In Design in comparison with tiff.

I have an iPod nano (3rd generation). I've recently dowloaded iCloud. So now when I open iTunes the window is entirely different. And I don't have the previous menu options. I have downloaded audiobooks for years. Is it not supported by iOS5?
Can I revert back to a previous version? Or must I upgrade to a newer device? Thank you for you expertise!!I have an iPod nano (3rd generation). I've recently dowloaded iCloud. hello,
when i open itunes i get the message: The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. A folder was specified instead of a file.
It seems I can't update my itunes library. how do i fix this? thanks in advanceHi there Br0x,
You may want to try rebuilding the iTunes library as an initial troubleshooting step. Take a look at the article below for more information.

While downloading the latest iTunes version, my computer turned off. When I opened iTunes, it says that "The file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes" Help please
That message is usually a sign that you tried to roll back to an earlier build of iTunes, but occasionally I've seen it connected to a new upgrade. This technique should fix things.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!
