I have a string that has a new line in it somewhere. I just want a way to get the indiviual lines out of it.

You could get the height of resulting string using sizeWithFont:constrainedToSize, and then divide it by the height of one line (computed using the saem function with jsut one letter).

Use REGEXP_INSTR to find a text string with space(s) in it

I am trying to use REGEXP_INSTR to find a text string with space(s) in it.
(This is in a Function.)
Let's say ParmIn_Look_For has a value of 'black dog'. I want to see if
ParmIn_Search_This_String has 'black dog' anywhere in it. But it gives an error
Syntax error on command line.
If ParmIn_Look_For is just 'black' or 'dog' it works fine.
Is there some way to put single quotes/double quotes around ParmIn_Look_For so this will
look for 'black dog' ??
Also: If I want to use the option of ignoring white space, is the last parm
'ix' 'i,x' or what ?

Unable to find line break between two lines in attachment file.

Dear all I will be very great full if someone help me out,
I am trying to send mail through SMTP server with an attachment of oracle report, but I am unable to find line break between two lines, when I down load the attachment from mail and open attach.txt file by double click on it. Next line starts right after previous line ends, it should starts with new line.
In order to send an attachment file, I am reading source file line by line and put MIME protocol’s attachment instance, contain of source file is being properly written into target file if I open that attachment on cmd prompt.
Following code may help you to understand the case.

How can I find out the strings that will be presented to the UI

Hi All,
I am working on a Swing based application (Swing based UI)
I am requested to do the following on the bytecode of that application:
I am supposed to find out what strings from within that bytecode will be presented to the UI and what will be used for an internal usage.
i have no way of running the application to verify that, i can only work on the static bytecode files.

You would of course have to run it. Either via a VM or recreating a VM yourself.
As an example of that how would you figure out what string occurs in the following (pseudo) code?

Finding a Particular string in a Database in the most Optimized way

Hi, I am very new to java programming. Can anyone show me a method of a simple way to read a line of characters into a string? I look over the internet but all seems awfully complicated like easyReader..etc which you have to import more other classes to make it to work. I just need it to be as simple as just to read a line into string.

[ID5] Find line without paragraph break

Hello,
I want to Find lines containing a specific character style. But when that line is at the end of a paragraph, it also selects the paragraph break. Which GREP do I have to use to select the line without the break?

Almost forgot.
Neither Find Text nor Character Styles have anything to do with lines. "Find Text" never selects an entire 'line'. Not even GREP can do this. (The Online Help for GREP contains the word "line" a couple of times [*] but it shouldn't, except in the negated sense of "GREP cannot distinguish a separate line".)

Extract/Scan for numbers from multiple lines of strings

Hi All,
I would like to extract numbers (the data) obtained from a serial acquisition which will be shown in multiple line of strings:
$#pressure 20
!@temperature 100
#voltage 1.2
I want to extract 20,100 and 1.2 so that I can do further data manipulation. Should I use match regular expression ? I could not get a proper regular expression to extract the numbers.

I'm trying to separate the content from GUID with metadata, but I can't find the Find Substring in String function in SharePoint Designer 2013 mentioned on
MSDN. Can anyone provide guidance? Thanks!

Its a not a function. It is workflow action under Actions menu in your SPD 2013.
You can find that action under the Utility Actions and make sure you have selected All Actions as show in the image above.

For oracle try using oracle function.
e.g.
SELECT reverse(substr(reverse('12347-ebjdone-525-ecgfjf-25236-defdafgdeg'),1,instr(reverse('12347-ebjdone-525-ecgfjf-25236-defdafgdeg'),'-','1'))) from dual
Object definition might look like:
reverse(substr(reverse({ObjectName}),1,instr(reverse({ObjectsName}),'-','1')))
