Finding out e-mails addresses

I am closing down an e-mail address because of too much spam. I wanted to send a "mass" e-mail to all the e-mail addresses in the sent folder (after editing them) to give my new e-mail address. Is there a way to get these addresses without doing it manually (since I don't have all e-mails on my address book)?
Thanks!

There are several steps involved, and you will need the Numbers application from iLife or Excel; otherwise you'll have to do the hard part by hand, which could take awhile and is tedious.
1. Select all the Sent messages and Save As… Raw Message Source; name the file "sentfile" (without the quotes) and save it to your Desktop.
2. In Terminal, type cd ~/Desktop and press Return.
3. Copy/paste this command in Terminal and press Return:
grep '^From ' sentfile | awk '{ print $2 }' | sort | uniq > sent-messages
Then copy/paste this command and press Return:
grep '@' sent-messages > complete-list
Next, add the .txt extension to the last file and open the "complete-list.txt" file using Numbers or Excel. Then Save As… or Export (depending on the options for the program you have) the file as a CSV file.
Then open that "complete-list.csv file in Numbers or Excel, Select All the items in the list and Copy them; open a new message window in Mail and Paste the list into the BCC field, which should all be separated by commas, and put your own address in the To: field. Type your message and Send it.
If you have neither of these programs or even a trial of Office:Mac, you should download the Office:Mac trial if you can, or you'll have to open the "complete-list.txt file in TextEdit, remove the carriage returns manually and then add commas between each email address and Save it, then copy/paste those entries into the BCC field in Mail.

  • How can I find out the mail server from email address?

    Hi:
How can I find out the mail server from email address?
for example: If I know the email address is [email protected],
how to find the pop3 and smtp mail server?
    THANK YOU

You can't tell by the email address since you can pretty much put whatever you want in there (especially if the SMTP server is not filtering anything).
The header may be able to tell you something. There is a Received header value which looks like it has the routing information although I am not sure if this is a complete trace or just the last hop the message took.

  • How to find out the mac address of T61

Is there any way to find out the mac address of a T61, without physically accessing the machine. I have the machine type as well as the serial number.
Man deals and God stacks the decks

there's no way to cross-reference an MTM/SN with a MAC address.   you'd need to connect to the system via a network, remote desktop, etc.

The only way to find out is by trying to setup a new iCloud account using the address you want, or creating an email alias in your current account.
    See: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
It's highly unlikely that such a simple address is still available after over a decade of Apple letting people sign up for @mac.com, @me.com and @icloud.com addresses.

I got help on the board about getting a new printer code and the Home Printer page shows that it is on, but now I don't know how to find the E-Mail address for my computer -
    This question was solved.

    Hi,
From the printer Front panel, navigate to Setup. Locate and enter Web Services. Aprove any of the steps to enable the service... allow the device several minutes to complete the registration, a page will print automatically with the printer code and the directions to select the email address from hpeprint.com.
    Regards.

  • How do I find out local IP addresses

I wantto find the IP addresses of all the devices on my local network.  How do I do that?

There are a few ways to to this...
You can got to the network settings for each device to get the IP address. For example, my iMac IP address:
Or you can access your router preferences to get all of the devices. For example my router:
If you don't know how to access your router preferences, you can Google the make and model to find out how to access the preferences setting.

  • Why do I find unknown e-mail addresses when I begin to type in a known address?

I'm using an IMac and am up to date on my version of OSX, V10.8.4 and have discovered a problem with Mail. When I want to send an e-mail I will type in the address. The first letter of that address triggers a drop down box showing all the e-mail addresses starting with that letter that are in the system. I started to look thru the llist of addresses and found some e-mail addresses of people that are not in my address book and I have never sent to or received from. Where do they come from?

As the folder indicates they were "Previous recipietns". Perhaps you replied some passed around emails from friends with more than one email address in the address panel (cc: or bcc:)?

  • How to find out external IP address of my WVC54GCA

    Hi
My provider changed the IP address so I have no access from outside of my network.
I know, I'll have to use DynDNS and I will, but now I ned the IP address and I'm not able to find it out.
    Any tipp?
    Thank you in advance,
    Freddie

    Hi
    Thank you for your answer!
OK, I try to reply as following (excuse my bad english):
    - An alternate web access port isalready enabled on the camera and it's port forwarded on the router. I had access from everywhere before my provider changed the IP.
    - I use DynDNS, but only for one Computer (with the tool "Dyn Updater"). My goal is to use the cam as a second device with DynDNS, but I guess I need the external IP first...
    - DHCP is activated. Not on the router but on my WIN 2003 Server. I can't find the cam there (under the DHCP section), only my Computers and Printers.
    - Also, I can't find the external IP of the cam within the Software or the Webinterface, only the internal (192.168.1.31). The external was 81.74.63.39:1031 before the IP change of my provider. Now I have 77.57.184... I tried different IP scanners, but they all only show the internal IP.
Hmmm, do I have to install the cam again or just run the setup?
    Thanks,
    Freddie

  • How can I find out the IP address of my airport base station, model number A1143?

  • Giving out e-mail addresses

    Hi,
I thought of something the other day which could be rather good.
One of the concerns I have with the forums is that if I want to have a private e-mail or IM with a forum member I have to paste my e-mail or IM address into the forum posting, asking the other person to contact me.
This allows any other SDM member to read/use my address details.  Normally I wouldn't expose those details.
How about an option to add another user to a list of people approved by me to see my private details (e-mail, IM etc).
This way I can give access to certain individuals to see my details.  Even better if I could specify the period they could see the details for.
The other user would then be able to look in their "address book" and see the names, and e-mails of all the users they are currently approved to see.
How about that for a good idea?
    Ed

There are a lot of easy to implement ways to prevent harvesting on the SDN side. I still need to elaborate on that in an article I've promised in my weblog (/people/eddy.declercq/blog/2005/03/17/mr-spamman-don146t-bring-me-a-dream). But I don't find the time for it.
Meanwhile, SDN could maybe implement the honeypot, which I wrote a BSP port for. That would be my entry for the Challenge
Btw I've send in a Teched proposal concerning all this. So if like the subject, you know what to do when the voting is open
