Firefox 3.6.6 Renders the "Lucida Sans" font always in bold

There seems to be a problem with Firefox rendering the "Lucida Sans" font. It doesn't seem to be able to find the regular or normal weight font and renders it instead in bold.
I am running Windows Server 2008 R2 (essentially Windows7).
I have tried reinstalling all of the Lucida Sans fonts in the font directory from another Windows Server 2008 R2 computer and that makes no difference in how the fonts are rendered.
If anyone could provide me with some help I would greatly appreciate it!

Had the same problem with Firefox 4.0. I had previously installed Adobe CS4, now uninstalled and have CS5 instead. Fixed the problem by reinstalling the font. Google 'download lucida sans' and you can find the .ttf file easy enough. Here is the one I used:

I am writing a program that uses a lot of unicode symbols so I need to use Lucida Sans font as opposed to the default font. My code is

this works on almost every machine I have tried. But the person I specifically wrote it for has a computer with a jdk 1.3.1 who can't see it correctly. The font is actually in the jre/lib/fonts directory and is listed in the fonts.properties and yet it doesn't load? I was wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what is happening.

Unable to use all the feature of my email service (Juno on the web) like; font size/color, bolding, italics, highlighting etc why? Those features work through Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

When I go to my Juno on the web through Firefox, I am unable to use the tool features such as:
Font size / Color
Bolding
Italics
Bullets
Highlighting
just to name a few. Yet when I bring it up through Internet Explorer these features work, plus the way Firefox reads my Juno the tabs are distorted (the page is not formatted correctly, I contacted Juno they said I should contact my modem company AT& T they said no so you are my last resort.. Please help resolve my issue, THANK YOU in advance for assisting with this matter.

It is up to Juno to enable Midas, the Rich Text Editor which is built into Firefox, with one little line of code on every web page that has RTE for IE. There's nothing that you can do to turn that feature on your self, it has to be coded on each web page that has Rich Text Editing.

Their ignorance probably lies with their staff programmers only knowing how to do it for IE ''(their training and certificates are probably from the Microsoft cabal)'', and not realizing that Gecko and WebKit apps each have their own Rich Text Editor's, which require their own small line of code to enable those Editor's.

Since upgrading to Firefox 33, The open sans font did not display correctly when specified by a website.

Some of the vertical lines in the fonts are double width like a mixture of bold and normal font weight. I have hardware accellaration disabled. The problem is not fixed when I change default font settings. The problem is not resolved be resetting zoom to 0.
Inspect Element identifies the problem happens when the website selects open Sans. If I stop sites selecting fonts and force the defaults I don not get the problem. Therefore the problem is with Firefox 33.1 rendering certain fonts specified by websites.
My machine is windows vista and Open Sans is not shown in the font list. However this was not a problem with previous versions of Firefox.
I did need to do a reset of firefox parameters during the upgrade to 33 so maybe ther eis some other parameter which needs changing to help render fonts which are not loaded on the machine?

* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

* Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.

When I upgraded to Firefox 4.0 I continually got error messages but the browser would still work when I cleared them. After the upgrade April 29 the browser worked until the computer was shut down.Next day it won't load.I tried to install older versions but they just get automatically "upgraded".This is from my laptop which I did not upgrade to 4.0 after my desktop issues.The error message I get when I try to load the browser is above.

When I click a link in Mail (Mac OS) Firefox opens two windows. The frontmost window is always blank. The other window shows the page to which the link pointed. I would like to avoid having two windows open.

Whenever I download a file nothing shows up in the Download box so I can't click on the downloaded file and load it. I'm using XP with Firefox ver 5.0 but the download box was always empty in previous versions too.

What is going on with my Gill Sans font?

Very weird- I am using Gill Sans, between 21 and 24 point, bold. It's been looking great, when suddenly, the font changed in the middle of the project. I mean, the parameters that I set in the controls tab are exactly the same, but the font looks totally different in some places in the project. It was a nice, chunky font and suddenly it got skinny. I tried to cut and paste the text from different parts of the project that are still correct in the places where it changed, but that doesn't work either. When I paste the text it changes. What on earth is this? Thanks for your help.

Gets weirder- rebooting helped in a few places, but not in all places. On one sequence I fixed everything by cutting and pasting, and this time that worked. But on my other sequence, the font still changes when I try to change the words in the text. I went to fontbook and validated Gill Sans and it came up with a check mark next to it , though there was also a message that said "problems may have been found with some fonts during validation, please review the reported problems before continuing" (then there are check marks next to all the Gill Sans fonts.)

Why won't Firefox let me bring up the uploaded pages of the San Quentin News.

I’m totally confused by new Firefox behavior concerning my Wordpress blog for the San Quentin News, the prison newspaper I advise that is the only prison newspaper in California and one of the few in the world. www.sanquentinnews.com. The problems don’t arise when I use Safari on either my iMac, my wife’s iMac or our iPad. Just Firefox, and just recently.
The three Pages I created on the Wordpress blog (Home, Welcome and Comment) still work fine. But the upload pages for the paper’s various issues – Current Issue and Back Issues – don’t work as they did many months before with Firefox.
When I uploaded the May issue, using the same procedure for media uploads that had worked before, things fell apart.
After uploading the new issues I tried to access Current Issue and Back Issues. What happens is this: The first time I select an issue sometimes it comes up correctly, with the image filling the screen and the blue scroll bar down the right side that enables me to scroll to all eight pages. But next time I try to access that issue, either nothing happens (blank screen) or when the issue finally comes up after a long delay, it is the first page of the issue centered on the desktop and with no blue scroll bar with which to access other pages.
Please help! I like the many features of Firefox, but not this one.

Lucida Sans displayed as italic in the preview of Muse (design panel)

Hello,
In the Creative Cloud version of Muse, Lucida Sans is by default displayed as Italic.
This results in a non WYSIWYG display of your website in Design mode.
With Helvetica for example this problem doesn't occur.

I need to know the standard default font for Firefox

I had a Dell 20 inch 2007fp monitor that I had to give up. I purchased an LG 22inch widescreen monitor.
My home page is the Drudge Report and with the new monitor the font is all messed up.
What is the standard default font for Firefox?
