Lucida Sans font not showing correctly on certain computers with jdk 1.3
I am writing a program that uses a lot of unicode symbols so I need to use Lucida Sans font as opposed to the default font. My code is
infinityButton.setFont(new Font("Lucida Sans", Font.PLAIN, 12));
etc ...
this works on almost every machine I have tried. But the person I specifically wrote it for has a computer with a jdk 1.3.1 who can't see it correctly. The font is actually in the jre/lib/fonts directory and is listed in the fonts.properties and yet it doesn't load? I was wondering if anyone might have a clue as to what is happening.

Firstly, make sure that your device is not hidden (left hand pane). If it just reads device then toggle between SHOW and HIDE.
Secondly, try all the other ports on your computer, even a number of times.
Thirdly, if you have another computer try plugging your device into it without taking any action, give it a moment, remove it and try it back in your other computer again.

Wrong display of punctuation is usually an encoding problem. Try changing View > Text Encoding to Latin-1 or UTF-8. Provide a url for more specific help.
Wrong display of italic is most likely a font problem. You need to be more specific about what it is being changed into for anyone to help. -
Fonts not showing correctly in Muse designmode
Working with webfont Lato this shows sort of Times Itallic on design mode.
In preview mode and on the web it is showing correctly.
I saw multiple fonts exhibit this problem.

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. Could you try the following workaround?
1. Close Muse
2. Rename the folders named tk1 and tk2 in the following locations
For Muse CC 2014.2
On Windows: %appdata%\com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2\Local Store. You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.2/Local Store. You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog (Shift+Command+G)
For Muse CC 2014.1
On Windows: %appdata%\com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.1\Local Store. You can type this in the Path bar at the top of the Windows Explorer window
On Mac: ~/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.AdobeMuseCC.2014.1/Local Store. You can type this in the Go To Folder dialog (Shift+Command+G)
For prior versions

3. Launch Muse and add the font again

Why are fonts not showing correctly in the latest update?
Our blog uses the leetpress theme. You an view a sample here:

But with the latest Firefox update, the fonts are changed to my default font setting, which is Times New Roman. I tried Chrome and it doesn't have problems.
I already checked for possible solutions for my problem.
Please don't give me an answer where I have to check the "Allow pages to use their own font" because it is checked since I started using Firefox. I'm not sure if it's because of the latest update. Hardware acceleration is also checked.Can you attach a screenshot?

@font not showing correctly in FireFox 3.6.23
The fonts and css file are located in the root domain, the @font works for IE 7/8/9 but the @font does not work for FireFox 3.6.23

Hi paulique, the simplest next test would be to disable all plugins and extensions (except Shockwave Flash, which is pretty much indispensable) here, restart Firefox, and see whether your font works without them:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Plugins category<br>

Maybe I'm missing something simple but I just can't get some fonts to appear in Flash cs5 on mac osx. they work fine in Photoshop / Illustrator, but don't appear in Flash.

Few of the text in Tibetan language subtitle is not showing correctly
Dear frds, I am working on 2 hours project which consist of 3 language i.e. English, Russian and Tibetan. Both English and Russian is showing correct while importing in Encore DVD 2 but few of the text which is in Tibetan Subtitle is not showing correctly. I have choosen the font correctly still few of the text is not correct format.
Is there any way to correct my Tibetan language text either by disabling speeling or grammer check or something else ???
Or is there any other way to import the subtitle is Picture format ???

We had Encore cs3 and that didn't handle Tibetan well.

Saving as PDF -- Font not showing up
I'm running Illustrator CS2 on a Power Mac G4 Quicksilver, OSX 10.4.11. When I save my file as PDF, some of the type is not showing up in certain areas in the resulting PDF. Font is Helvetica Neue 67 Med Condensed. Odd thing is that the same font and weight is showing up in some spots but not others. Type is painted white against a dark blue background.
I have tried copying the text and making a PDF with just the text and it works fine.
I've tired saving to all different levels of PDFs. No luck.
I've tried turning type to outline and still type does not show in resulting PDF.
I've tried turning type to outline, saving as EPS and running thru Distiller. Still type does not show up.
Next thought is to rebuild the file, layer by layer to see where the glitch is.

But if something was a different colour and is then changed to white, any overprint attributes remain. There is no warning except for a subtle icon in the Attributes panel, which, of course, must be visible to help. Years of griping at Adobe have done nothing, because Adobe have no interest in making Illustrator a better program, just in making it a bigger program with more wonderful “features” they can use to trick you into upgrading. Customer service, intuitive software, documentation, support, and even basic product testing are alien to Adobe.
The cause of this is most often black text and logos that are expected to be used for placement in many different circumstances. The designer of the original will add the Overprint attribute to the black objects because the art may be used over other colours. When someone opens the file, then changes the colour to white, they get the problem you had. -

I keep seeing this issue albeit intermittently. I have set up a doc library for my users which has a custom content type (lookup, metadata columns, etc) . They all appear perfectly most of the time except the lookup column. Sometimes is just
decides to display the title field of the current library and not the lookup list title . It is weird as it has been working perfectly for ages given the library is populated with valid documents.
There are some fixes listed here. Has anyone got any experience of this?

According to your post, my understanding is that the lookup column not display well while editing in word.
Did you customize the Document Information Panel?
I recommend you edit your custom document information panel or create a new document information panel, then re-publish it to check whether it works.

The web site of Adobe does not show correctly in FireFox
I have a bizarre problem. The site of Adobe (including where I can download the flash player) does not show correctly in FireFox and I only see it as a text HTML page, but without most images (typically, for instance, I do not see the image "Download now" but see a text line "Dowload now", and so on...
This seems to specifically affect the Adobe web site as I have no problme for other web sites (so far).
It is something specific to FireFox as I do have the problem with Internet Explorer.
The problem persis even if I restart FireFox without any add-on (safe mode).
Any suggestion ?Does this only happen in Firefox? What do you see with Internet Explorer or Chrome? If it is only Firefox, I'd try these steps in this order:
1. Clear your cookies and cache
2. Reset your Firefox settings
3. Make a new profile

Spot colors not showing correctly in acrobat 11
Spot colors not showing correctly in the output preview as well as the page correctly. I have a spot pms
295 on a page in a few different areas of text and backgrounds. The spot color shows on 1 of my backgrounds
and text and a spot color on another background does not. These items are on the same page. Although I
can use the eyedropper to check the color of these items and it states the spot color is present. The page
also prints correctly. Previews not happening.I included 3 screen shots from Acobat 11 of the test requested. Also, included the last screen shot from Acobat 9 of same file.
Which shows correct preview. To eliminate possible ICC profile issue. I did change profiles to all that were in the profile list
with no change in either test. -
Fonts not showing up in InDesign CC 64bit
I find it extremely difficult to believe that Adobe have not found a solution to the issue of installed fonts not showing up in InDesign. If anybody has found a solution that does not include the "rewriting" of font types. Please assist. We specialize in Brand Management, and it becomes extremely challenging when Adobe InDesign does not show up the installed font in order to ensure Brand Management :/
POSSIBLE SOLUTION
I'm not sure if this is the cause for anyone else, but I had the same symptoms--almost no fonts showing up in InDesigns Font dropdown options.
THE SOLUTION: The new version of ID has two "font filter toggle button". They are the "Apply Favorite Filter", and "Apply Typekit Filter". It seem that in my install, the Typekit filter was on by default, which makes it so that the Font list only displays those fonts that originate from Typekit, as opposed to the thousand you have on your hard drive.
Click the toggle to turn off the filter and --zowee! All your fonts come right back.
I hope this helps some of you. It would also explain why people on both Macs and Windows boxes are having this issue.
