Firefox 3.6.9 updated to my computer this morning. Now eBay and yahoo are refusing to load properly, and I'm told it's 'incompatible' with AVG stop malicious sites or something like it - what to do?
I think what loaded was a firefox for google pack. But I'm not sure about that. Tried to use Yahoo, it said to try to clear my browser, or clear my cookies, or several other suggestions I can't remember. My AVG something or other has been disabled because it is incompatible with whatever firefox loaded.
Assistance would be appreciate. Go slowly. Use small words. Thanks.
If AVG is blocking it then you need to contact AVG and ask them why that is happening.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer. -
My Mac laptop was running fine till I downloaded the latest itunes version this week, now all the programs are slow, ITUNEs cuts in and out. Anyone know what I did wrong?

Hey! I recently had to reboot my computer and reinstall itunes. I now want to update my iPad but it is not allowing me to save my apps in my itunes library because it is already connected with my old library from before I rebooted. What do i do?!
The solution is fairly easy IF the items that you are concerned about are all items that have been obtained from the iTunes Store AND they were all purchased using the same Apple ID. First, with the iPad disconnected from the computer, fire up iTunes. Look to the right side top and confirm that that Apple ID is displayed. If it is not, go to "Account" and log into that ID. Then, connect the iPad. Say "yes" to the "Transfer Purchases" choice. Everything on the iPad will be transferred to the computer's iTunes library.
If anything goes wrong, you can download all purchased items again with no charge (except movies) provided that you use the same Apple ID.
If you have been using multiple Apple IDs, it's a bit more complicated. Post back and we'll go from there. -

The update takes a LONG time... but with the new system, you can keep using your phone during the update, so it doesnt FEEL like it is updating...
you have probably interrupted the update, just like I did
plug your phone in... "continue the update" or hit the sync button to psh it in... and leave it there
unless you have enabled sync over wifi (which still only works when you are plugged in)
just be patient... and there shouldbe a flashing "synching" symbol at the top of your phone screen -

I "updated" my ios software this morning and it forced me to reset my phone to the manufacturers settings. I would at least like to redownload the recent books I have purchased. Is there a way to do that without having to pay for them again??

I just found an answer !
I had moved my computer into another room and had to turn up the brightness, as I have always had it on the lowest setting. In doing so it created the noise, I turned it right down and it stopped. I have now set it about level 3 so it's not so distracting.

I "updated" my iPhone4S 16gig this morning and can't get past the "Rescue Email" screen. I entered emails as well as opted out. I have gone back, but Apple ID Security insists I add security questions and mail. HELP!
Claudius,either you didn't read my post, or you jumped to conclusions. I had a skype account that was created using a microsoft account (NOT THE ACCOUNT I AM USING NOW). PURE MICROSOFT ACCOUNT NO OTHER ACCOUNT LINKING.I had to change the primary mail of that account.I was told "no can do" by skype support.I found that if I went to account settings and clicked on the link on the line below the one that said "MICROSOFT etc" (labeled something along the lines of "TV or Device") I got the opportunity to set the password of the "live:username" account (WHICH YOU COINCIDENTALLY HAVE TO DO IF YOU WANT TO USE SMART TVs ETC).Once that was done, I COULD SUCCESSFULLY DO WHAT SKYPE SUPPORT SAID WAS IMPOSSIBLE- I could change the primary mail address. once that was done, and NOT BEFORE, I linked the account to a facebook account as well, just to be sure I have more than one way to access the skype account. What caused you to get the impression that I was writing something else? furthermore this sentence - "The solution you described in your initial message isn't actually once since all the time you were operating on different account that weren't actually linked" does not make sense, I think you mis-edited it.and I need to point out that you are incorrect. I am using an older mid 2007 imac 24 inch running snow leopard 10.6.8
I normally accept software update recs, and today when installing the security update to java, all went fine till restart, when I got the universal "NO" sign, the circle with the line through it and just spinning gray bars underneath.
Booted from system disks, ran first aid, said the boot block partitions or something like that needed updating but disk appears to be ok. Still not working.
Do you think Alsoft Disk Warrior will fix? I am running off external back up drive now.

Apple as usual is as useless as tits on a bull, or a screen door on a submarine, pick your simile...If your backup's up to date it might be less hassle to erase the internal and clone back from the backup. Don't allow the update next time it appears - you're not the only one having problems it would seem.
Note; the message "updating boot partitions" is a standard message that appears after a repair run. It won't go away and should be ignored.
Provided the message "The volume Macintosh HD Seems to be OK" in green has appeared, your disc fle system is fine.

I tried to update my iPhone 5 this morning with the new software update. Now my phone won't turn on. When I plug into iTunes, it says that my phone is in recovery mode and that it needs to be restored to factory settings. Is there a way to fix this without losing my settings? Why would this happen on a software update?

That is not what it says. Read the message again. It's telling you it has detected an iPhone in recovery mode and it must be restored.
