Firefox don't recognize the maxlenght in asp textbox

Greetings, I have developed a asp.net web page has an asp textbox control with the property maxlenght = 2, but when tested with firefox 5.0 on the Samsung Galaxy Tab and enter data, lets you enter more than 2 characters.
So can validate the textbox with a javascript function in onkeypress event of the control.
Below detail the function
acceptNum function (evt)
charCode var = (evt.which)? evt.which: event.keyCode
if (charCode> 31 & & (charCode <48 | | charCode> 57))
return false;
return true;
Please help.

Thanks for the bug report. Can you let us know which keyboard you are using (for example, Swype, SwiftKey, or Samsung Keypad)?
With keyboards that provide suggestions, Firefox may show more than 2 characters while you are still composing a word, but it should cut off any extra characters as soon as you complete the word or move on to the next field.

    If there are problems with importing the IE Favorites in Firefox then export the favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in the Firefox Bookmarks Manager.
    If you do not have the menu bar in IE then right-click the toolbar at the top to enable the Menu Bar.
    *Export the favorites in IE to an HTML file (bookmarks.html):<br>File > Import and Export

  • My iPad and laptops don't recognize the wifi hotspot on iPhone 4 iOS 4.3

    I think there is an issue with the iOS 4.3 software upgrade. My iPad or laptops don't recognize the wifi personal hotspot on my iPhone 4 (iOS 4.3). Tethering only works on an USB cable on my laptop. I'm not sure why I upgraded my data plan with AT&T to this tethering plan today, only to lose my unlimited plan? Please fix this issue asap. My iPad did recognize my iPhone personal hotspot for a few minutes, but after entering the password, I get the message "unable to connect to the network". Is this an isolated or mass problem???

    Any iphone locked to ATT cannot be used with any other sim, unless the phone is jailbroken.  In your case, the advice you got is correct.  You iphone cannot be used unless in the US with an ATT sim.  Apple can do nothing.

  • Don't recognize the Apple TV on the same WiFi

    Upgraded my iPhone 4 and purchased a iPhone 6.  Just noticed they both don't recognize the Apple TV on the same WiFi.  The iPhone 4 was working on it before the upgrade to iOS 8.  Google TV is working on both.

    Thanks for your rely vazandrew,
    Here is more detail on what I was trying to do and the circumstances...
    I'd pull up the lower bar to touch AirPlay on my iPhone 6, but it wasn't there to select.  Finding this curious I tried the same thing on my old iPhone 4 (no longer provisioned for cellular but using it on the WiFi).  AirPlay also was not there to select.  I have two access points so I first thought the devices may not all be on the same WiFi - not the case.  Then I'd try re-booting the Apple TV a number of times, still no change.
    This was made more curious when I found that applications (on these devices) that support the Google TV worked (same access point).
    Later, after making this post I thought to re-boot the modem (something I haven't done in some time).  And voila!  That seemed to do it.  Now Airplay appears and is selectable on both devices - working properly.
    So it appears that the issue is resolved, but this seems rather odd to me that it occurred at all.

  • When I try to click on a download link for a .pdf file Firefox does not recognize the MIME type and tries to download the file as "index.php"

    When visiting a site I frequent I tried to download a linked .pdf file. Previously I've used Firefox 7.0.1 to download the link with no problem. Using Firefox 8 however I the browser does not recognize the .pdf link's mime type. Instead of recognizing the download link as a .pdf file Firefox 8 tries to download it as "index.php". Firefox 8 does this with .doc files and .txt files as well. When I downgrade to 7.0.1 again the problem disappears.

    Hi hakmacpace,
    I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.
    You could also try [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles?s=create+a+new+profile&r=2&e=es&as=s#w_creating-a-profile Creating a new profile].
    Hopefully this helps!

  • Firefox does not recognize the new download of RealPlayer Version Plugin15.0.0.198

    HELP!
    Up until last week I was able to use the RealPlayer Version Plugin15.0.0.198 and download video clips
    Today it did not work so I checked and downloaded the "update". after installing 4 different times and rebooting my computer I have not been able to get it to work.
    My Firefox is up to date and I have uploaded the latest version of RealPlayer- several times...
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

    TonyE, thank you very much for the helpful reply. However, do you happen to know why FireFox choose to hide the extremely useful Menu items in version 4.0? Are they trying to mimic the cumbersome navigation requirements in Chrome?

  • How do I stop firefox from automatically placing the cursor in a textbox?

    How do I stop Firefox from automatically placing the cursor in a text box? On certain pages such as Google.com the cursor will be moved to the search text box automatically after a couple seconds from the page loading. So I'll be typing in the address bar or something and then half of what I am typing in the address bar becomes cut off and starts being entered in the Google.com text box for search. The same happens on Facebook.com and the cursor is automatically moved to the Status Update text box. I assume this is a built in "feature" of the web page, but it's damn annoying. Especially when I start typing in my status update box on Facebook before the page completely loads and then halfway through typing (once the page is done loading) my cursor is moved to the starting position of the text area and my text is cut off.
    Just the be clear the actual mouse pointer isn't being moved, just the prompt for entering text.
    How can this be stopped?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == Started since I can remember

    This problem has grown worse over the last couple of years. I use Firefox on Mac and Windows. I consider this problem to be a bug. Here's why: Event Driven interfaces, e.g., OSX and Windows, are never supposed to change typing-cursor focus WHILE SOMEONE'S TYPING!!!
    Firefox allows websites to change focus WHILE USERS TYPE!
    Hey, sorry for the caps, but I haven't used those for awhile and that's kind of fun. But really, more and more websites steal typing-cursor focus WHILE USERS TYPE.
    Efff them, but really, Eff Firefox for allowing this.
    It's almost like a symptom of our hyper scattered age where our attention jumps here and there.
    But really... I love Firefox, some of my best friends are Firefox, they're good people, don't get me wrong, but damn it, WHEN SOMEONE IS TYPING THE UNASSAILABLE RULE OF EVENT DRIVEN DESIGN IS NOTHING ELSE SHOULD CHANGE FOCUS WHILE SOMEONE IS TYPING!!!!
    FIX THIS PLEASE.
    Oh, I just ran out of capital letters. :) :) :)

  • Firefox keyboard layout changes to something I don't recognize, the traditional [ QWERTY ] reads as [ ',.pyf ] any idea why this would happen or how to change it back short of killing firefox and restarting.

    This happens randomly and infrequently. At first I thought it was my cats fault but it has recently happened while I was sitting at the computer with no feline interference. If someone could let me know how, if it's possible, to change the keyboard layout to QWERTY I will try this next time it happens to see if it can be corrected without restarting firefox. For a larger sample I will include the lines below:
    The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog
    yd. 'gcjt xpr,b urq hgmlo rk.p yd. na;f eri
    This is only effecting firefox, no other programs are changed and it does effect all running and new instances of firefox.

    See:
    * http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/The-Language-bar-overview - The Language bar (overview)
    It is possible that you have switched the keyboard layout by accident.
    * Make sure that you have the Language bar visible on the Windows Taskbar.
    * You can do that via the right-click context menu of the Taskbar: Toolbars > Language Bar.
    * Check the keyboard language (keyboard layout) setting for the application that has focus via the icon on the Language bar.
    * You need to do that while Firefox has focus because Windows remembers the keyboard layout setting per application.
    * The default keys to rotate the layout is a combination (Ctrl+Shift or Alt+Shift) that can easily be used in Firefox to activate a menu item.
    * To avoid an unintentional switch assign a specific key sequence (Alt/Ctrl+Shift+number) to select keyboard layouts and remove the key combination to rotate layouts (Alt+Shift or Ctr+Shift)
    * Vista: Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Keyboards and Languages > Change keyboards > Advanced key settings > Change key sequence

  • TS3299 opticals drive disappeared in my Windows 8 computer.   After  1-1/2 on the phone this was corrected but now my Itunes don't  recognize the drive.  Error message stating registry errors.  I tried   running in windows 7 compatibility mode that don't

    Purchased a new Ipad for my wife and integrated it with my windows 7 system and Itunes and made it through.  Was able to sync and bring pictures, contacts and bookmarks over.  Not to say it was easy because I never used any Apple product except my Ipad and Itunes.  Really enjoyed using the Ipad and was thinking of getting a new Iphone this week being my contract is up.
    Then the trouble began I bought a new windows 8 system after having trouble with my old hard drive.  I have finances and Tax programs I use that I thought would be easier to continue using windows rather than trying integrating past years Quicken & Turbo Tax information into a new Apple system.
    Well now I'm sorry I bought the new windows 8 system.  First all my optical drives disappeared when installing itunes.  After spending 1-1/2 on the phone with a service rep and finally was able to see my optical drive I thought everything was OK.  Then more trouble.  When I open Itunes I receive an error message that says my Itunes no longer recognizes my optical drive try reinstalling.  I reinstalled 10 times and tried compatibility mode and the end result is my Itunes no longer could burn Cd's.  I had this problem if I'm not mistaken in the past with ME system back many years ago.  And did not want to go through this again but here I am disgusted once again.

    I finally got my nano working (no thanks to Apple, hmpf!) and it's running fine with 1.0.2 now. For those with similiar problems try this:
    +For Mac, you need to:+
    +1. Downgrade to firmware 1.0.1 by deleting the files iPod_26.1.0.2.ipsw and iPod_26.1.0.2.ipsw.signature (are in the folder iPod software updates somewhere on the harddisk)+
    +2. under Settings in iTunes you have to disable automatic download of updates, then restart iTunes.+
    +3. Enter Disc Mode by holding menu & select for about ten seconds, then pressing play/pause & select for another ten seconds.+
    +4. reconnect your nano to Reset, and when iTunes prompts to update, just don't allow it to look for updates and then reset with fw 1.0.1.+
    I'm supriced Apple support didn't tell me about this? This worked great and is a very fast fix. I can't believe Apple got me to reinstall the whole OS, which didn't even solve it btw. USB 1, blah! Yeah right..

  • On my Macbook Pro, the latest version of Firefox won't recognize the "Command-W" command to close windows or the "Command-C" command to copy / paste text.

    I'm fine when I use Chrome and Safari -- but I'd rather use Firefox. I have done a clean reinstall of Firefox and I'm still having the problems. Any ideas?

    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
    *Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window or otherwise make changes.

    How would I code a link in source code so that I can link to a file on a local server? The standard "file://path" or label or label constructs are recognized by IE but not Firefox. Is there a coding that most browsers will recognize? (File is located on an office server.)
