  • Air for android emulator black screen

I run my app for android which I made with flash cs 5.5 and Air 3.0 on my Emulator. Way I see only a black screen on my Emulator?

Lets step back and make one thing clear.
AndroidSDK and AIR SDK are 2 different SDKs.
    They are separate.
AIR SDK has adt and adl.
Android SDK has adb, AVD Manager and SDK Manager.
You need to have both of them.
Here's a picture of my overlayed AIR 3.2 on Flash Pro CS5.5 as well as a completely separate folder for my AndroidSDK. You can see the executables I am talking about, nested in their proper separate SDKs.
You can see how the top 2 Windows Explorers show the AndroidSDK. You can see adb as well as SDK Manager and AVD Manager.
You want to go to the location you see in the top 2 to set up your emulator to run.
The bottom Windows Explorer shows this path for me:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Flash CS5.5\AIR2.6
This is the AIR SDK. Regardless that the name of the folder says AIR2.6, the instructions above tell you to overlay AIR 3.2 into this same folder. So this is actually my AIR 3.2 SDK. In there you can see clearly there is adt and adl.
You need to keep in mind which SDK has which executables.
If you do not follow the depicted, verbose instructions here to install the AIR SDK in your emulator and you are not producing an .apk that embeds AIR (captive runtime) then you will only ever see a black screen and your APK will never work.

  • Firefox opens to a black screen / Previous post is not helping

    Product Detected
    Intel® HD Graphics 3000
I have thoroughly (I think) read the other posts / questions regarding this issue. Like others, I'm experience a completely black screen when opening the new version of Firefox. I can't do (or click on) anything...and it won't open in safe mode.
I'm not very tech-savvy...but I did manage to get to the point where I had Intel do an auto-check to see about updating the graphics card (which was the other recommended fix).
I have a four-year-old Lenovo ThinkPad, BTW. I got the following message:
    Current Driver Installed
    8.15.10.2321
A customized computer manufacturer driver is installed on your computer. The Intel Driver Update Utility is not able to update the driver. Installing a generic Intel driver instead of the customized computer manufacturer driver may cause technical issues. Contact your computer manufacturer for the latest driver for your computer.
Is there anything else I can do before I contact Lenovo (never fun). I guess not using Firefox is the obvious answer here...but it is my favorite browser. Urgh. Thanks in advance for any advice.

hello, what is the exact product name/number of your thinkpad?

  • Installing Win 7 via Bootcamp on 27' iMac 2010 gives BLACK screen, BLINKING cursor error (BSBCE)?

    Hi All,
All coments appreciated regarding thiis issue.
    I have a 2010 27' i7 2.93Ghz iMac with 8Gb ram, 2Tb Seagate, and 256 Samsung SSD.
I am running 10.6.8 with all updates on the 2Tb Seagate (has BC 3.04), and 10.7.1 on the Samsung (has BC 4.0).
I have tried over a dozen times to install Win 7 (both a 32 bit Professional edition and a 64 bit Ultimate edition) on BC partitions on both drives. These have been all on separate occasions of course.
All installs result in what appears to be a successful install, but when the machine reboots to launch Win 7 for the first time, I ALWAYS get a black screen with a blinking cursor error (BSBCE).
This is not the 2009 video card driver issue problem reported so widely and referred to in the Apple article TS3173. I had that model previously and the way around that was to connect a second monitor/LCD for the installation.
No this is a new and separate issue.
And I am no nubie. I have used IT for over 25 years and teach networking courses in the Win and Mac environments.
The problem appears to be in a corrupt boot loader install.
I have used both WIn 7 install disks to do a repair each time. The repair says it is successful but after rebooting all I get is the black screen and flashing cursor, with no keyboard response. I have used both Bluetooth keyboards and USB keyboards. Nothing seems to make a difference re getting WIn 7 to boot after the install on either drive.
I have also used the Bootrec commands in the command window. They all return a successful outcome but when rebooting I see the ever familar BSBCE.
Now,,,,,here is the real puzzle. I copied my previous Win 7 Ultimate install using Winclone before I sold my older 27' iMac.
If I restore that install to the 2010 iMac Win 7 boots fine!
So some error is happening on my current machine when the bootloader/bootmanager is being written to the BC partition.
The problem is there with the BC on both 10.6 and 10.7, and these are different versions of BC!
Now to further complicate the problem, I manage 12X 2011 21.5' iMacs in a lab at work. Win 7 Professional 32bit installed on these machines just as it should (same disks that produces the black screen flashing cursor).
I have read that some people thing it is a Boot Rom version issue, and there may be some substance to this as WIN 7 installs so easily on the 2011 iMacs in my lab.
I called Applecare about this and went through the procedures outlined above. The guy was very helpful and sympathetic but he had no answer to the problem. His suggestion was to pull the SSD out and do it again with only one drive. As the machine can ship from Apple with both of these drives I really do doubt that pulling the SSD would make a difference.
Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7 work fine, no problems on both drives, so I don't think it is a drive issue.
    OK Mac gurus...over to you.

I have a bookmark for iMac w/ SSD and hard drive.
There is also the 'req'd reading' in http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp
with one article on Black screen w/ iMac 2010.

  • Isight gives black screen.

MBP 2010, bought in July. Running snow leopard 10.6.8. The built-in isight is not working with Photo booth and Skype, but is working perfectly with the FaceTime app. isight does show up in system profiler under USB high speed Bus. In Photo booth and Skype the green light does not turn on and there is only a black screen. Also in Photo booth, after the count down the picture is snapped but it is a black screen again.
    plese help!
    Thanks in advance.

    (1) Uninstall (follow Skype's uninstall instructions) Skype.  Then restart Mac, use Disk Utility to repair permissions, and then test Photo Booth again. Follow the suggestions in Apple's http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 article.
    (2) If Photo Booth still fails in your normal login account, try in another user account.  Create a new user account if you do not have one, but do NOT use the "Guest" account for this test.
    (3) If Photo Booth works in the new account but not the old, you can log back into the old account and reset your Photo Booth preferences to see if that corrects the Photo Booth problem there.
If you need help resetting preferences, here is how:
    • Do NOT launch Photo Booth.  Quit the app if it is already running.
    • Navigate to your User Home/Library/Preferences folder.
    • Delete (move to trash) the com.apple.PhotoBooth.plist file there.
    • Launch Photo Booth and test its operation.
    (4) Once you have Photo Booth working again, you can install the latest Skype compatible with your system.
    (5) If the above does not help you get it working, post back the results you got when you tried each of the above.  We will offer specific suggestions based on the details in your reply.

  • IPhoto gives black screen when I try to use Slideshow or Edit

    Hi:
I have a new Powerbook Pro with Snow Leopard and iLife 09. I can see all of my photos in the library, but when I try to go to full screen view, or try to edit a photo, I get a black screen. For the full screen view, the thumbnails are aligned at the top of the screen if I move the cursor there, but the screen remains black where the photo is supposed to be. I tried rebuilding the library (option + control when launching iPhoto), and deleted the iPhoto plist file in the library - preferences folder, but the problem persists.
    Thanks

Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. +*The original library will be untouched for further attempts at fixing or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.+*

I too am having Minecraft problems.  I've managed to fix the black screen issue by launching minecraft with the script posted in this thread.
    export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="/opt/java/jre/lib/amd64"
    java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame
Some people have reported that simply installing the updated LWJGL libraries has fixed the black screen problem but it didn't work for me.  If you're unsure how to do this, you basically drag and drop them into the proper subdirectories of ~/.minecraft

  • A 2nd copy of firefox opens with a black screen when opening Firefox

After Firefox loads with the home pages, a second copy of Firefox also opens with one black screen. The black screen has the same url as the 1st tab in the 1st copy of Firefox, with one addition as follows:
    1st copy, 1st tab url: www.newsmax.com
2nd copy (no tabs) url: www.newsmax.com/mainpop.htm
I'm using Windows XP, sp3, and Firefox version 10.0.1.
It does the same on another desktop with Windows 7, same Firefox version(10.0.1).

It is possible that there is a problem with the files sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.
Delete the sessionstore.js [2] file and possible sessionstore-##.js [3] files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

  • Firefox shows an ugly black screen between each transiton of my slideshows

I created two slideshows on two different web pages a few months ago. They displayed well on firefox, chrome and IE browsers at the time I built them.
But now suddenly the firefox browser is displaying an ugly black screen moment between each transition of the slides in the show.
Chrome and IE are still showing the slideshow correctly.
Why is it wrong on Firefox only? How can I fix this?
    View the slideshow here:

I removed the slideshow from the boatshed site as it looked too awful to leave it there. I left the one on my own web site where you can still see the problem. You can also see the problem on the demo shows on the site that makes the software. I

  • WMV plugin gives black screen. WMV works outside Firefox. Already uninstalled/reinstalled.

I was having trouble converting and MP4 file to WMV using WinAVIVideo Converter. I needed to download a new set of codecs which fixed the problem. I was able to convert the file and play it in Windows Media Player. However, if I load the WMV file to a website and click on it there, it will not play in Firefox. I've tried disabling all the plugins other then the Windows Media Player plugin and I tried uninstalling the plugin and reinstalling it. None of those things has worked. • When I open Firefox I get a black screen; how do I get rid of it?

When I first click on Firefox my monitor shows an all black window for a home page. A small rotating circle shows up on the black window; the indicator that a web site is loading. After a few seconds the circle goes away and for a flash the screen shows the url itself of my established home page, with a bit of an outline of that opening. Just as quickly, that disappears and the window goes black again. I can close it by right clicking on the Firefox logo and selecting "close all windows," and I can minimize it by using the windows key and the letter M. I feel that the correct screen is underneath the black window, but to which I have no access.
Before all this happened the search engine Ask had made itself the home page for Firefox without my consciously asking for that. By going to the control panel and the Internet entry, I removed what had become the url (of Ask's supplied home page) in the choice for home page, with my usual one (www.excite.com). That's when the above trouble started and remains.
Obviously, I am writing this contact to the Internet and a different machine. On the computer with the problem I couldn't see what I am doing. I could have also used Windows Explorer on the troubled machine; it has not been affected with the same problem.

I have also found that unchecking the "Use hardware acceleration when available" option solves this issue. This option is in the Advanced section, under the General tab.
