Firefox prompted me to download an incompatible update that its website claims is compatible with my operating system (Mac OS 10.4.11). Why prompt an incompatible download AND claim it is compatible?
I have an iMac and use OS 10.4.11 & Firefox 3.6.19. Firefox prompted me to download an update (to 7.0.1). I looked up the system requirements on your website, and it stated the update is compatible with OS 10.4.11. But after I downloaded and installed the update, it failed to work on grounds of incompatibility. Hence 2 questions: (1) Why did Firefox prompt me to download an incompatible update? (2) Why did your website claim the update is compatible with my operating system when it is not?
Sorry, it's because Firefox 4+ are only compiled for the Intel processors.
There is a separate project for PPC Macs called Ten Four Fox. You might give it a spin when you're tired of 3.6.

Canon EOS 100D is listed as compatible in Digital Camera RAW Compatibility Update 6.01 and when I have checked for software updates there are none available. I've downloaded the Canon software, connected to my mac via the cable and followed the instructions in the manual. Sadly I just get a message saying it's not compatible with the operating system. I've tried inserting the memory card into the mac to and it doesn't seem to see it. Can anyone help please?
Camera RAW ≠ Camera driver, the RAW update is for the .CR2 canon raw image file (in your case) compatibility.
What happens when you try to import photos using Image Capture or iPhoto?
Can you take a screenshot of the error message?
I always prefer and recommend using memory card import over using the camera. -

Hi, I've got an imac using mac os x version10.4.11, does anyone know of any printers that are compatible with this operating system version?
Yesterday I set up a Canon IP3600 to work on a PowerBook G4 running OS 10.4.11. It is a print-only unit. I got the 10.4 drivers off the Canon website before connecting the printer. Many Brother printers still have support for older Mac OS versions.
If you need a multi-function device, it is gettng very hard to find any that support PowerPC Macs (pre-2006) of OSX versions older then 10.6 any more.
As you posted in the PowerPC iMac forum I assume you have one. However, there are some Intel Macs (2006 and newer) still running 10.4. Check "About this Mac" under your Apple menu: if it says you have an Intel processor, you have many more doors open. -

Can Adobe change Reader (XI) on my computer to version compatible with my operating system?
I have the incorrect version of Adobe Reader on my computer. I have the Adobe PDF Pack/PDF to Office file converter, version XI. I was told by an Adobe telephone consultant earlier that this version was not compatible with my Windows 7 operating system and that was why my documents were coming out garbled. However, when I reviewed my billing a couple of months ago with Adobe, it was found that I had duplication for different Adobe products. Adobe has corrected this, but assured me at the same time that I had paid for a year for my PDF converter. I think at that time, the incorrect version (XI) appeared on my machine again. I need to change the PDF converter back to the old subscription, so that my documents are not garbled when they are converted to Word documents. Please help. You can purchase Acrobat Pro subscription and install it on Vista OS.

The earlier versions Acrobat 9 and 10 are compatible with Vista but they are no longer available for purchase.

The technical support people of both Apple and Microsoft could not provide me wth a useful answer to a question that must interest hundreds of thousands of people, if not millions. I don't want to download the new OS and then encounter nasty problems.
Yes. The only problem you could face, is if you want to reinstall MS Office 2008 on Lion - this is not possible, because the installer runs on Rosetta, which is no longer supported in Lion. But if you already have Office installed, there should be absolutely no problems.
