Firefox unable to connect: bookmarked or previously visited websites connect, and some others, but new links or even pasted or typed in addresses don't, mac os10.5
For some reason, since this morning, any bookmarked or previously visited website works, and some others But new links or even pasted or typed in addresses don't. Must.figure.this.out! I don't have extra firewalls/security other than the standard mac ones and have restarted the computer and also rebooted all devices. Operation is safe mode has same results. Cleared cache and cookies.
Any ideas?

It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I tried the old fix posted by jscher2000 about "To try to block sites from interfering with the copy action, you can switch a setting under the covers." and followed his directions re the "about:config" and switched the dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled to false.
No luck (Not surprised since that seemed rooted in a different issue). So, I changed it back.
Selecting all and then copying still yeilds the same results in that the text does not transfer (text and other things around the desired text does though). (All though it still does not copy, it oddly shows as highlighted at least.)
I used to be able to highlight/copy all from this site with Firefox. Annoyingly I still can copy the desired text on Microsoft Explorer (but I prefer using Firefox!).
(P.S. I have AVG Security 2014 and AVGPC TuneUp but that does not interfere with MExplorer and disabling does not seem to help).Thank you for your help!
(I hope all of these work-arounds won't be required in future versions of Firefox though, or at least that there will be good add-ons developed) -

i have iphone 4 and it connect to some wireless networks and some others are not visible while other lphones can find these networks and i tried to restart the phone many times and there is no result, kindly advice
Some updates and clarifications:
1. I already have my 2.4 channel fixed.
2. Wireless network name is 8 alphanumeric characters; no spaces
3. Already using WPA2 security with a 10 alphanumeric key (again, no spaces)
4. I am running Airport Utility 6.0, Mac OS version 10.7.4
I should also say that these problems started happening less than a month ago...prior to that all devices where working normally.
An added update: My two e-readers (nook ST and Kindle 3) are also refusing to connect...perhaps confirming that I have 2.4 GHz issues? -
Had to get new hard disk for my macbook. After installing snow leopard on new HD the computer only connects to free wifi at certain places and not others. Took it to genius bar (of course it worked find there!) they said it was fine. But problem persist.

When I click a new tab, I can't get any of the 9 boxes to show my previous browsing history. I have tried changing browsing, privacy and history settings and nothing has worked. The boxes still stay gray, not clickable. Any suggestions?

Everytime I click on the bookmark on my facebook page to open farmville it will not open but tells me that the page is not there and the connection is not available. And since I have updated to Firefox 4 my facebook page is super slow loading which is causing me to lose out on numerous things that I try to collect for my games. Do I need to delete Firefox 4 and go with something else? Chrome or something others have good things to say about? Firefox was great before the last 2 updates and I hate to say it but it is horrible now. I need this problem with opening my farmville game fixed now because it will cost me if I cannot open it. Hopefully something will be done right away.

When Firefox 4 is minimized and I click on a link or use a shortcut that would open that link in a new tab, Firefox maximizes and I am unable to see the page until I "restore" then "maximize" the page. I believe this is due to my visualization add-on, as I can see that only, and it seems to fill the entire page.
Another issue I am having is when I do a search using Windows 7 start menu "search the internet", I am getting a new window instead of a new tab. I was sure to check off "open new windows in a new tab instead" in the Firefox settings.
Please let me know if there is a fix for either issue.

Firefox crashes when I try to print from Yahoo mail and some web sites
I am running Mac, OSX 10.4.11. Firefox has automatically upgraded me to version 3.6.15 and variations in between for months now.
I have been having problems printing to my Epson CS5800F for at least a couple of weeks if not months. I'm not really sure which version it began with, only that it's been weeks.
Printing from web sites is intermittent. From Yahoo! mail it is almost daily. I have downloaded and reinstalled the Epson printer drivers which seemed to solve the problem for about a day. Then I was right back where I started. I am very frustrated and aggravated because I need to be able to print e-mail and web site information. And I did not have this problem in the past.
Is there a fix for this problem? Can I revert back to an earlier version of Firefox where I did not have this problem? I cannot upgrade my OSX to fix this... as this is not an option on this Mac.

I am looking at your about: crashes advice to find crash incidences, but there is no "about: crashes" on my location bar... I have 8 options under about and none of them say crashes.

Okay... i pasted it below, as I didn't read that far down before I posted it here. I cannot find the Crash ID(s) which would be in multiples this past week.
I have submitted all crash reports, at the time of crashing, or so it seems, as the crash report window says it will report my crashes. There have been many in the past week... too many to count. And, I have requested help in the last 3 or 4 of them... and entered my e-mail address, plus a request for assistance, but so far, no replies or information has been submitted back to me at my e-mail address. So, I am wondering if this really works, and if you are getting my reports at all.
I really need to get this problem fixed so I can stop wasting so much time restarting and copying and pasting items into text to print. This is not how a browser should work. And I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback I can get to resolve this problem asap. I need to be efficient in my work and this is not allowing that.

I have a computer which I let several other people use, but I don't want them to have access to the internet. I would like to see if there is a "lock" choice so that no one else can access the internet - or another means? I've tried to select "Lock" to the whole computer (when it gives you the "lock," "shut down," "sleep," etc. choices - and it says the computer is locked but the next time I try it it opens the computer (and internet) just like it never was "locked" so I don't even know how to effectively lock the whole computer either as a second option to block access ot the internet!
I had the same problem (issue with Google Apps and XUL runner etc) of needing to downgrade. To pull it off I went to the main Firefox download page (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/) and followed the link to OTHER SYSTEMS AND LANGUAGES which took me to a page that included a link on the right hand side to download Firefox 3.6.16.
(The stuff below pertains to Windows. If you are on a different OS your steps will vary)
To do the actual downgrade (and there may be some other steps that would be wise to take but this is what worked for me) I merely renamed "c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" to "c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox bad" (in case I want to try troubleshooting the issue later) and then ran the "Firefox Setup 3.6.16.exe" file that downloaded from that link. That solved my problem and I'm back and running 3.6.16.
In case you don't feel comfortable changing things in your Program Files directory you might try a different approach and try uninstalling via the Control Panel and Add and Remove Programs (or whatever it is called on the version of Windows you are on) and then running the installation file. I didn't go that route so I can't tell you how well that might work. -
Typically, the splash page will lode partially but as soon as it starts to transfer data from ad related sites (ie doubleclick) , Firefox seems to stop working and when I when I try to close the site, I get a FireFox - Program is Not Responding message. I tell the computer to End Program and it takes 3-4 minutes for Firefox to close> When I then reopen Firefox, I get a message saying (This is Embarrasing_ we couldn't find some of your tabs. Firefox then offers me the option of restoring the previous session or starting a new one.
I have to agree, a once rapid firefox is now an absolute pain, I have scanned the computer with Malware bites and AVG nothing found..anybody got the fix?

Yes, I have cleared cache and I have cleared the history as well as the Cookies & Data in Settings.
I have tried using Private Browser mode without luck.

I can of course completely wipe and reset the iPad, but thats no good as that will remove all my apps and everything.

This is a resume feature of Lion, where the system remembers all your open applications and windows ... If you're not used to it, it can be a bit jarring having everything load up automatically. -
Another "feature" contrived and approved by somebody who obviously does not use FF and who just likes to change things for the sake of change.
Every time I try to open a new tab, version 15 displays thumbnails showing where I've been surfing. If this is a "new and improved 'feature'", how do I turn it off? Those thumbnails don't appear when I start FF.
