First Magenta didn't print, then things got weird...

First Magenta would not print, even though all the diagnostic indicated that everything was fine.
I put in a new ink cartrige and the magenta printed just fine, but now the blue suddenly won't print.
I tried to align the print heads, but it told me the allignment failed. The printer is only about 6 months old and out of warranty.
What the heck? It was working fine.
I've put the printer through all the cleanings and diagnostics I could find and don't know what to do now other than throw it off a bridge.
Any suggestions?

I am sorry you are having a print quality issue. The printer warranty is a one year warranty. If the printer is only 6 months old, it will still be in warranty. Since you have completed the cleanings and everything, it will more then likely be a hardware issue so I would contact HP total care at 800-474-6836.

They're probably just interested in getting $ from you, there are several companies who advertise in a way that suggests 'official' support for all sorts of things. Unfortunately, if they had access as you describe, they potentially could have installed other software and/or read any of your files.
Ideally - change all passwords for email/banking/login & restore a backup from before this happened.

If you cannot reboot by holding the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, then you need to take your Touch to an Apple store genius bar and have the techs check it out for you.

L5780: first page or 2 print fine then poor quality print

The first few pages of print will be fine but then towards the end of the 3rd page there are horizontal streaks, the next page will be full of them getting worse as the page progresses. I can wait a while (1/2 hour or so) get a good page but then back to the horizontal streaks.
I replaced my print heads in August last year and had some issues with the black and yellow one which HP replaced (both of them went from green status to yellow status fairly quickly). The new print head solved the issue for a while but now for months I've been dealing with this problem.
I have cleaned, aligned and calibrated and now after a 2nd cleaning the yellow print is a very poor quality. I have HP, print heads, HP ink and HP paper. I have the proper paper settings. From what I have read it appears that it could be the black and yellow print head again, but that just seems odd that a 3rd one would go bad in this short time (the first ones I replace in August did not indicate they were bad and were still in a yellow status) . I don't do a great deal of printing and this August was the first time I've replaced the print heads since I got the printer about 4 years ago.
I print most of my items from Micro Soft Word or Micro Soft Digital Image Suite 2006 Editor.

b) Does all pages of the PDF are of same size? YES
c) What is the page size set in the Printer and what is the actual size of the paper which you have put in the tray? LETTER
d) Does this problem also happens on the virtual printer which you might have on your system (Try either Microsoft MPS Document writer or Adobe PDF Printer) No VIRTUAL PRINTERS

I will try to explain this as clearly as i can.
In December i noticed that my bill was not as high as it usually is. I then went back and saw that i was given a a 400 dollar credit to my account. i was not sure why it was there, but i didn't do anything about it yet because i was traveling for the holidays. i figured i would just handle it when i got back in town. What i did notice was my bill was less for the month of November and October. So on Jan 1st i got a text saying that my bill was $646 then i got the email telling me the same thing. I went online and saw that they took 400 dollar credit back and said I owed all that money plus a late fee. i called up to get this figured out.
First time i called (1/2/2014):
i spoke with someone that said they took the late fee off and then asked me to pay them all the money right then. i said i could not just drop all that money right there. I asked why i owe all the money when i had auto payment on and they should have been taking it. i also said it was not my fault this happened that it was an error on their end. I should not get penalized because of this. They sent me to their payment specialists to get it figured out. I spoke with two other people before i could get to someone that could do anything for me. The arrangement they gave me was i could pay 317 this month and 55 dollars for 6 months over my bill. This would get me caught up. I was frustrated and said i needed to call back. I really just needed to calm down.
Second time i called 1/6/2014):
I called up and was told my bill amount. I then realized they never took the late fee off my account, which really made me mad. They said they took it off again, but i really don't know. Then they sent me to their specialists again and i told them the situation from before about the deal. They said i could do that still, but there would be a late fee each month until i pay it off. My problem is that it is not my fault that this happened and i am being charged a late fee for a bill that i was never late with and i will be charged more until i pay it off. i also have been a customer for about 10 years and i have never been late on one payment.
I realize that i probably should not trust that setting up auto-pay will allow things to work out, but i guess i have learned to not trust it.
What should i do? Who can i call to get this figured out? they won't budge with anything.

I'm sorry you received a credit that was added to your account by mistake thecook26. I can understand how frustrated you are with the entire situation. As stated by Elector, its always a great idea to contact us if you see a charge or credit you're unaware of on your bill. We do our best to correct all mistakes but contacting us when you see the mistake is always a great thing to do. I apologize that you have a late bill but we are trying to help with the payment arrangements so that your account will stay active because of an error cause by us but that still needs to be paid. I'm happy the first late fee was removed but I am unfamiliar with payment arrangements for 6 months. They are usually for 1-2 bill cycles. Please let us know if you have any other concerns.

This got me curious when I first saw it... It does indeed seem very Un-Apple-like (at least historically) to prevent a user from customizing their own device - Mac or iDevice - but today I'm unsure. I cannot grasp how a UX designer could leave a simple "OFF" switch out of the control panel. Another thing that Music Data Streaming does is eat up your Data Plan.
This May not be the exact issue as you describe, but seems to solve an issue of a Radio Playlist in iTunes resuming where it left off from the last use...

Play last song on list, songs will then stop. Works for me on iPad. Haven't tried yet on iPhone.

HP Color LaserJet 2605dn reboots itself when attempting any report from LCD. Says Printing, then resets with the green and amber light lit and the LCD screen says Hewlett-Packard. If I try to send a print job to it from a computer, it says printing, and resets just the same. I've upgraded the firmware to 20071108. I've rebooted the printer holding down the green and red buttons that didn't help. I also held down the two gray buttons and powered on which didn't help, it just cleared all my printing stats and cleared my configuration. I've attempted print jobs via USB, and network with same results. Admin webpage comes up. Thanks.

Thanks for you reply. Here's some additional information because I'm not quite sure how to resolve the network addressing as you described. The router is set up as a DHCP server, using the standard 192.168.1.1 IP address, and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 The starting IP address is 192.168.1.100, and I have it set to allow up to 50 connections. (No particular reason, I think that may have been the default.) The printer is set up to check a variety of connection protocols, starting with DHCP. If that fails, it moves to BOOTP, etc. When I print the network configuraton page from the printer, it tells me the IP address is 169.254.18.32, subnet mask 255.255.0.0, default gateway 169.254.18.32, and the IP is configured by AUTOIP.
In the past, when it has been working properly, the printer shows an IP address of 192.168.1.10X, usually .100 or .101, but it depends on which device I've powered up first. This is what I would expect, given that the printer should be communicating with the router and be assigned an IP address by DHCP. What I can't figure out is why the printer reverts to its internal default IP address 169.254.18.32, and why this is inaccessible even if I try to designate the printer as an IP printer and type in the printer's IP address.
Do I need to set the printer to refresh its DHCP lease more often to ensure it doesn't get cut off by the router? How do I make sure the printer stays on the same subnet as the computers if they're all on the same router? Should I assign the printer a static IP address like 192.168.1.100, then set the DHCP range to start at 192.168.1.101? Sorry to ask so many questions, I'm not a network expert and I didn't think this printer would be such a pain to configure.

Windows XP machine looses printer then have to rerun bonjour printer wizard

I have a Windows XP Home machine that prints to an Epson cx5400 which is attached to an airport extream. It works fine for a while then it looses the printer. I have to rerun the bonjour printing wizard and add the printer again and delete the old printer.
Does anyone know how to prevent xp from loosing the printer

The printer does have some sort of power saving. It warms up when we print sometimes, but I don't think there is user settings for it. I'll try contacting Epson tech support to see if I can turn it off.
We are running Norton Internet Security on the XP machine, which includes a firewall and antivirus. There are several things that can be dissabled including the firewall and intrusion detection. Is there something with Norton Internet security that you know conflicts with airport printing or is there someplace I can look. I took a look at the I felix web site and didn't see anything.
Originally we connected without the Bonjour printing wizard by putting in the ip address and port. This quit working all together, but we had a reprieve because I downloaded the printer wizard which worked except for loosing the printer now and then. The machine can work for weeks and not loose the printer then all of a sudden loose it. I'm not sure what leads loosing the printer. Whether it's when we reboot the the airport or what. Its a periodic problem that does not occure on a daily basis.

I thought maybe I am not suppose to have the Creative Cloud update because all I have is the individual app Muse and the photography program. So I uninstalled the CC desktop. Then when I open Muse it says I need the CC desktop to help with the update. So I get stopped either way. Now I also had a Pre-Release Muse on my computer and I don't know if that complicated things. Please advise.

All future installs/updates of Muse (and most other Adobe apps) are through the Creative Cloud desktop app. Thus you do need to have it installed.

At first my computer had issues. Once it go to sleep it will not back again. I dropped my laptop at apple store to fix it. After 10 days they returned my laptop saying they were no able to fix the problem so they replaced motherboard aiming if that might help. Acttually that didn't help.I had same issue again. I visited apple store again. This time they said they could fix, if I will allow them to format the harddrive. I said ok. They formatted it. It was working fine for few daysAfter few days compter is taking.even more than 15 min to shutdown. Now computer has another problem. It is being hang frequently like every 20'to.30 min.
I don't know what to do? I still have one month left on first year warranty. I have requested couple times to apple associates either to fix or replace or refund. They are showing me rude behavior. Contact Apple Customer Care - not Apple Care - Customer Support. Have your receipts handy and/or case numbers. Be patient, be calm, and tell your story just as you have here. I get the sense you are not in the US and don't have access to an Apple Store but are going to an independent shop. This makes using Customer Support all the more important. If phoning isn't viable, use registered mail.
Since time is running short, be prepared to purchase AppleCare to exennd your warranty 2 more years. Yes, you shouldn't have to do this, but it gives you added protection and more opportunities over the next 2 years to claim a replacement computer if you don't get one immediately. After dealing with a similar unhappy situation with a Mac in the late 1990s I finally got a replacement computer and reimbursed for the AppleCare policy.

While im playing games and their running choppy and slow and if i take a snap shot inside the phone. They run smooth and HD but just for a few seconds and boom they go back to slow and choppy. As far as I know you can't delete the primary email address for an iCloud account. It's assigned when the account is created. But your neighbor wouldn't have been able to get into your iCloud account without your Apple ID and password. Are you sure the account wasn't still on your phone when you gave it to him?
You could migrate a copy of your data to a new iCloud account but I would still be concerned that someone else was using my old account, which presumably still has your data in it.
I'm fairly certain that you're going to have to have iCloud support help you sort this one out as they may have the ability to make changes to an existing account that users can't. Make an appointment with the genius bar at a nearby Apple store and have them take a look at it. If necessary, they should be able to contact iCloud support for you.

Magenta cast when printing from any app in Mountain Lion

I get a serious magenta cast when printing from any application using my Epson R3000 inkjet. I am aware of the double profile issue. For example in Photoshop I let it do the color management. ML automatically turns off printer color management. My monitor is calibrated with Xrite Color Munki. I did not have this issue before upgrading to ML 8.2. Is there a driver issue?

In System Preferences->Monitors->color is the correct
color profile set?
Do you you have the correct profile for the printer
selected in Photoshop?
Also, are you using Proof Setup in Views?
Need to ask since sometimes a person can stare at
something too long and think it is correct (done it myself often).
It may not be a driver but an issue with color profiles.
It is possible one or more of the color profiles may be corrupted.
Go to Utilities->ColorSync Utility select and run Profile First Aid.
See if problems found in profiles.
Using PS CS6 myself and have not seen any such issues with
color and 10.8.2.

Why does my Laserjet 2055dn only print the first page of a print job?

In our domain, we have a number of 2055dn printers that act up on intermittent bases. At times, they function properly, but other times they will only print the first page of a print job. Our domain has only HP printers so there should be no conflict with drivers. My solution has been to delete the printer on the local machine and then to reinstall them after reboot. That has helped at times. In other cases, I have installed the printer only on the local machine and not the copy on my printer server.
I have updated the print drivers, on the server and on the local machines. I have changed drivers to PS, to PCL 5 and to PCL 6.
This only seems to occur in one of my three buildings that house this model of printer. I have even done firmware upgrades on the printers.
I appreciate any help that I can get on this continuing problem. Thanks much.
