Fixed and sap field type

Hi Gurus,
Need your help.
--In defining external web services ...i have given the URL and other parameters in the standard call structure.E.g we have defined the user name and password  as parameter values(fixed value). When a user clicks on the url from his/her browser, does the catalog ask for log-in details again or the above mentioned parameter values  will automatically give catalog access to the user?
--I have read the 'help' on Fixed type and SAP field type. Can somebody explain me the diference clearly?
If fixed...the parameter value remains the same/fixed.<b>Meaning?</b>
If SAP field..."SAP fields are also permitted as single parameters during the catalog call. If, for example, a username has to be transferred, you can enter SY-UNAME in the Contents field. The system then automatically fills the parameter with the username."
<b>What/where is a contents field?</b>I cannot see it anywhere.Does it mean, when a user clicks on the catalog, the UN will automatically populate in the field?
Please let me know.
Thanks
Trey

Hi Trey,
-- you define user & password in the calling parameters to avoid logon when calling catalog, but also to control what he/she can see/order in the catalog, because this user ID is assigned some view IDs in the catalog
-- fixed values are entered manually in the customizing (they are fixed, so for more complex needs, you can add parameters in a BADI just before calling the catalog). ex: the ~okcode is always ADDI; the user / password can be fixed.
You can transfer additional parameters at runtime using BADI BBP_CAT_CALL_ENRICH.
SAP fields are not fixed but are variables. ex: if you use SY-UNAME as the parameter value for , this will be valuated at the run time, with connected user ID.
When you define the calling parameters for a catalog ID, (IMG Supplier Relationship Management --> SRM Server --> Master Data --> Define External Web Services  (Catalogs, Vendor Lists etc.) you enter the parameter name(ex: user) and its value (ex: SY-UNAME with type "SAP field" or THONNS with "Fixed value").

  • Lot sizing rule (Fixed and Exact) - Field controls

    Hi,
In MRP1 view of material master, I observed the following:
If Lot size rule: Fixed (FX), in the change mode of the material master, I am able to observe Min lot size, Max lot size, rounding profile and rounding value. Where as these fields are not visible in the display mode (Despite these fields having values in MARC table)
However this is not true for exact lot size (EX)
What is the business reason/logic for this?
    Please suggest.
    Thanks,
    Ravi

In MM03 only the fields relevant to the lot size are being displayed, the other fields have no effect so are not displaying.  In MM02 all fields are displayed since if the change the lot size you may need to edit them.  In MM02 you will get a warning if you enter a field not relevant for the lot size.

  • "One or more field types are not installed properly. Go to the list settings page to delete these fields" while accessing website pages

We have a publishing website in SharePoint 2010. There are total 4 environments - Development, Test, Stage and Production. For some enhancements, we had to create some new lists and libraries. When we moved changes from Development to Test environment, everything
worked fine. Relevant lists and libraries in lower environments were saved as templates (in .stp format) including content, imported to higher environment, lists/libraries were created in higher environment using imported templates.
Things worked fine from Development to Test. We did similar exercise from Test to Stage environment. Now in Stage, when we access some pages, we get error message - "One or more field types are not installed
properly. Go to the list settings page to delete these fields.". ULS logs don't tell which exact list has got problems.
On searching for this error, I got many articles that explain how this could happen when we migrate from SharePoint 2007 (MOSS) to 2010. Though our case different (as all our environments are in 2010), we still tried following steps.
De-activate 'SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure' Site Collection feature
Go to https://site-name/relationships%20list/allitems.aspx. This is a hidden list. Delete this list.
Re-activate 'SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure' Site Collection feature.
Make sure that new hidden list with one item is created at https://site-name/relationships%20list/allitems.aspx
However, this didn't help as we are still getting same error message. Appreciate if someone can suggest how this issue can be resolved.
    Following are ULS logs:

    Hi Shrishail ,
Some time this issue occurs if you have any custom filed types in the list or library and that field type is not installed on server .
Can you please check that if you are having any custom field types column on the list and library and if that is the case you need to install that field type on the server. sometimes it happens if field types are not properly deployed / Installed then
you have to uninstall that field types (retract solution) and deploy it again.

  • MS Active Directory (LDAP) and SAP Integration

    Hi all!
don't know if I'm right here in this forum, but:
I'm using MS Windows Server 2003 and installed Active Directory as LDAP-System on the one hand side, on the other I'm using a 6.20 ABAP Web AS.
I'd like to synchronize the User Storage on these two systems.
Does anyone have experience in doing this? I'm facing a tricky exception in depth of my customizing too complex to explain right now. The problem concerns the mapping of LDAP-Fields and SAP-Fields.
    Thankx,
    Christoph

    Hi Christoph,
This is the mySAP ERP forum. Perhaps you can post your question in the Web AS forum (SAP NetWeaver Application Server).
For now: here is a link to a video regarding SAP Active Directory integration:

I found it by searching on Active Directory here on sdn:

  • Sap query and additional fields.

    Hello guys.
ABAP it's not my strong skill, but i need to develop some report.
    What i need:
    input: material, SLED, plant
output: material, SLED, plant, values from characteristic field.
I have created sap query with additional field type c.
    Below my code:
    TYPES: BEGIN OF charast,
            ATNAM(50)    TYPE c,
            ATWTB(8)     TYPE n,
            X(50)        TYPE n,
            C(50)        TYPE n,
            ATINN(50)    TYPE n,
            END OF charast.
DATA: char TYPE TABLE OF charast WITH HEADER LINE.
    CALL FUNCTION 'VB_BATCH_GET_DETAIL'
       EXPORTING
         MATNR              = MCH1-MATNR
         CHARG              = MCH1-CHARG
         GET_CLASSIFICATION = 'X'
       TABLES
         CHAR_OF_BATCH      = char.
LOOP AT char into TEST (This is an additional field type C.
       ENDLOOP.
    Questions:
    1. How i can return internal table into standard abap type, because i can create additional field only with standart types.
    2. Need i fetch exporting parameters before calling FM? Or sap query do it automatically, based on given values on selection screen of the report?
    3. How i can return only needed field from FM output? Now, when i'm executing FM via SE37 it's show desired result, but when i'm getting it from code i see strange values.
    4. If i don't know exactly return by an FM values, how i can fill structure dynamically?
    5. How i can return result of a program not only to additional field but to layout?
Sorry for noob questions and thank you in advance guys!

Well, seems like it work fine for me.
Below my crappy, but working code:
    DATA: material TYPE MCHB-MATNR,
           batch    TYPE MCHB-CHARG,
           plant    TYPE MCHB-WERKS,
           sloc     TYPE MCHB-LGORT,
gtdt     TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF clbatch,
           gtdit    TYPE clbatch.
SELECT MATNR INTO material FROM MCHB
       WHERE MATNR = MCHB-MATNR.
    ENDSELECT.
SELECT CHARG INTO batch FROM MCHB
       WHERE CHARG = MCHB-CHARG.
    ENDSELECT.
SELECT WERKS INTO plant FROM MCHB
       WHERE WERKS = MCHB-WERKS.
    ENDSELECT.
SELECT LGORT INTO sloc FROM MCHB
       WHERE LGORT = MCHB-LGORT.
    ENDSELECT.
    CALL FUNCTION 'VB_BATCH_GET_DETAIL'
       EXPORTING
         MATNR = material
         CHARG = batch
         WERKS = plant
         GET_CLASSIFICATION = 'X'
        TABLES
          CHAR_OF_BATCH = gtdt.
    READ TABLE gtdt INTO gtdit
       WITH KEY atnam = 'BATCH_SHELF_LIFE_EXPIRY_DATE'.
    GTD = gtdit-ATWTB.

  • Problem while creating with QUAN and CURR data type fields

I am trying to create a Z table. A couple of fields are of data type QUAN and CURR, which need to have reference table and reference field.
    Field               DataType     Length     Decimal
    TOT_QTY       QUAN            15                 3
    PRICE              CURR             16                2
For reference table and fields, I found a Table HRPAD23 which has a field called N_QUANTITY (15,3) that matches my TOT_QTY field's data type and it also has a field called UN_PRICE that matches my PRICE field's data type. But when I use them as reference, and try to activate the table, I get an error "combination reference table/field does not exist". How do I fix this? Can anybody help me? Thanks in advance.

    Martin,
I doubt that you need to add 2 extra fields in your table as suggested in the last post by John.
Your error is very CLEAR that you seem to be use wrong combination of reference table and field.
    For QTY field,
use ref table  -  HRPAD23.              ref field- UNIT
    OR
ref table - VBAP                       ref field - VRKME
    For PRICE field,
use ref table - PAD25                  ref field - KWAER
    OR
ref table - T77REFDOC                                     ref field - CURRENCY
    It should work.

  • How to transfer SRM PO Condition Type and Custom fields to ECC?

    Hi All,
I have a scenario to transfer SRM Line item condition types and few custom fields to ECC.
I have found the following things but structure  'CI_EKPODB' does not exists in ECC.
I am using 'SRM 5.00' and 'SAP ECC 6.0'.
NOTE: I have to transfer condition records when PO is getting created / modified.
    1) Earlier I was planning to use BADI 'BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW' in SRM and this will transfer the data to ECC in case of PO
        Creation.
It contains the Condition fields to be passed to ECC.
But i am unable to implement the same, whenever i create implementation when i click 'Activate' its getting activate then after few seconds its getting deactivate, i think this is because this BADI is not allowed for multiple use and SAP has already made one implementation on the same.
    2) I need to implement BADI 'BBP_ECS_PO_OUT_BADI' in SRM and 'BBP_PO_INBOUND_BADI' in ECC.
SRM BADI will pass verified field details to ECC as a custom fields
It does not contains the Condition fields to be passed to ECC, so i was planning to pass the same as custom field(s).
ECC BADI 'BBP_PO_INBOUND_BADI'  will be used to map the fields to correct place and this should work.
i need to modify the structures and pass all the custom fields (z-fields) - (CI_EKPODB but does not exists kindly suggest) as data.
    Other required details:
Transfer of PO does not supported by SAP for service PO's, any suggestion on the same?
Expecting quick reply from your end.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Hemant

    Naresh,
    Thanks for quick response.
My concern is this BADI 'BBP_CREATE_BE_PO_NEW' will trigger only in case of creation, not when PO is changes.
I have to transfer condition types and custom fields to ECC in both the case (create / change)
If i have to do this only in case of creation then i can pass Condition types / custom fields then i can use parameter 'CS_PO1_DOCUMENT' from method 'FILL_PO_INTERFACE1'.
this parameter contains 'IT_POCOND', 'IT_POCONDX' and 'IT_EXTENSIONIN' as parameter  so my problem will be solved.
But i dont think this will trigger in both the cases and 2nd thing i cann't implement the BADI since its not marked for multiple use so i am unable to implement the same.
Kindly correct me if i am wrong.
Once again thanks for your reply.
    Please suggest on the same.
    Regards,
    Hemant

  • Condition types and value fields

    hi Gurus,
Can anybody please explain me what is condidion type and value field and the purpose of these two in costing??
    Regards,
    S.Sumana

    Dear Sumana,
Condition types and Value field conjuction is used in Profitability Analysis.
Condition type is an element in pricing procedure. For e.g price of the product consist of several things like base price, discount, tax, etc. so each compenent is called condition type.
Value fields are grouping of cost elements for e.g. you have created a cost element Sales revenue then all revenue cost elements which consist of revenue.
Condtion type Base Price is revenue which is mapped to value field Sales revenue. So as soon as the billing document is created value field is updated.
For more information on Profitability analysis please read the documentation provide in www.help.sap.com

  • What type of generic delta to use and what field?

    Dear BW Gurus,
I am creating a generic datasource based on a view BSAK and BSIK (Accounts Payable tables). I am not able to determine what type of generic delta (numeric pointer, calender day or timestamp) should i use and what field in the table should it that be based on? All or any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Raj

CALDAY on field BLDAT (in both tables) seem an obvious candidate.
Added - You will need help from functional people (or you can try it in ABAP forum) to determine which date field is updated with the system date when these tables are updated with SAP txns (some hint can be had by looking at the data)- the fields of interest would be -
    BUDAT
    BLDAT
    CPUDT
It is almost certain that CALDAY is the only option you have for delta type, and one of these three fields will have to be chosen.

  • Fixed and variable prices of an activity type understanding

    Hi,
To my understanding the fixed portion of the price will not be multiplied by the quantity and the variable price will be. However, i tested the cost estimates and it looks like both the fixed price and variable price is summed up together to get the total price and this total price is multiplied with the quantity.
In this case what is the purpose of having fixed price and variable price in the activity type?

Fixed price, is the fixed costs - I usually see it in relation to Overhead..
Fixed costs remain, whether you manufacutre or not.
Say you are deciding whether to out-source an assembly,  If you outsource, VARIABLE cost will be saved, Material, labor for that assembly, Overhead representing fringes for that labor, the electricity to run that specific machine.  However, you will still have fixed costs of: Management Salary (although some of that can be variable); insurance on the building; heating and cooling for the building; realestate taxes.
If the cost to make "in house" is 150 each and the vendor is going to charge you 100, thi is only a true saving if your fixed costs are less than 50.
SAP allows you to separate fixed and variable costs so that you do make/buy analysis, budgeting, etc
    Hope this helps

  • Examples for Fixed and variable prices for activity type

    Hi,
Can someone please provide a real life example for the fixed and variable prices of an activity type?
Moderator: Search SDN and SAP help material

    Hi,
Fixed Price are those expenditures which remains constant in total amount irrespective of change in Volume of production.Eg Rent will be constant even if your production volume changes. The activity price calculated for such expenditures will also be constant per activity rate even if there is a change in the volume of production.
Varriable price on the other hand changes with the volume of production .e.g power cost will change if you produce more.the the activity rate say KWH/ton will also change and its price will also change if you produce more.
Generally activities for service center fixed costs will yield fixed price.
Once you are done with planning in KP26.these plan amounts are used for standard cost estimate.when you are doing standard cost estimate, cost will calculated from BOM(Materials cost) and Routing(here you have activitype plan cost/hr.no.of hrs to finish goods).
once you are with standard cost estimate it will update material master.
To calculate variances(target costs Vs Actual cost),we use target cost.target cost is nothing but your standard cost estimate cost for that particular materials(Finished or Semi -Finished).
you can check this in OKV6 T.code.
    Thanks,
    Rau

You mean so the user can't choose the name of the file to open or save? Not much point in even using a JFileChooser, then, is there? Or did I misunderstand the question?
