Fixed length time interval variable

Hello experts,
I would like to define a time interval variable between a start date (entered by the user) and end date which is exactly 12 periods after the start date (the system somehow calculates the end date = start date + 12).
The same principle should be used for different periods such as day, week, month. For instance for a calendar day variable it should calculate the end date = start date + 12 days, for a calendar week start date = start date + 12 weeks etc.
How such behaviour with a variable could be achieved ?

Just create a variable ZCDATE of user exit type and code in the exit ZXRSRU01 to populate it.
DATA: ZE_T_RANGE TYPE RSR_T_RANGESID WITH HEADER LINE.
Current date
    when 'ZCDATE'. " Your Variable
      IF I_STEP = 2.
        ZE_T_RANGE-SIGN    = 'I'.
        ZE_T_RANGE-OPT     = 'EQ'.
        ZE_T_RANGE-LOW     = SY-DATUM.
        APPEND ZE_T_RANGE TO E_T_RANGE.

Infopackage time dependant data fixed time interval

Hi,
I have issue with infopackage. When I tried to load the master data attribute itu2019s not loading the changed data.When I checked the infopackage it has update tab and in this time dependant data section,it was marked as fixed time interval.The changed data in R/3 actually falls under the interval what was entered in the fixed time interval period.But it was not extracted.
I found that if we enter the exact specific dates interval in the fixed time interval,it fetches data.But we canu2019t enter each dates interval for all changed data in R/3. It needs to fetch all the data.When I try to remove the fixed time interval,it is not allowing as it is mandatory field.
Please suggest me how to fetch all the records for time dependant data.I tried other options like routine and variables.But it doesnu2019t work and it is fetching data only if we enter the exact dates interval.

Read no. of pulse count with fixed time interval

Hi,
I am try to read no of pulse count ( Pulse period = 500ms, On time = 100msec and Off time = 400msec). Between pulses there is a fixed time interval of 2seconds. I am using NI USB DAQ 6341. Can anybody help me regarding this?

Thanks for replying. I have gone through that example, the given example are only increment count when pulese are detected.
In my case, i want to count the no. of pulses between the time interval of 2sec. e.g. Suppose my device generate 5 no. of pulses and after every 5 pulses their is 2sec time interval, here i need to read only 5 pulses not the continuous count. And no. of pulses are generated by device can be vary but the time interval between those pulses are fixed. Could you give me suggession regarding this?

Fixed time interval selection in Infopackage

Hi Guys,
I have a generic data source from PA0315 table that I am using to supply master data 0EMPLOYEE. In the update tab of the infopackage it has a fixed time interval selection with Start Date and End Date. I enter 01.01.1900 to 31.12.9999 so that I can capture the entire data for every load.
But when ever I enter that selection option it always returns with '0' data. But if I enter specific date ranges it returns with data. But being specific does not help me b/c I want the entire date range.
Has anybody come across this before and have an idea on a solution to capture all the data.
Any response will be appreciated.

Unless we give a range for BEGDA it doesn't seem to behave as expected. Could someone let me know how I can load all records to BW whose BEGDA/ENDDA fall in the range of StarteDate and EndDate.

Anil,
If you are using a custom dataSource, make sure the dataSource fields for begda and ennda are labeled "datefrom" and "dateto".

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

Please let me know if there is any command in oracle to get a single field as a fixed length.

How can you change track length times in itunes?

I use itunes now for all music media, and have gone to the extraordinary pains of sorting and importing all of my music so that it is now all digitally stored...
The curious thing is that in itunes, it reports some track lengths as being way longer than they actually are. It doesn't affect the playback, it just looks wrong in the listing in the library - for example - the U2 album, 18 singles, has some ridiculously long track lengths - like track 2 - Beautiful Day, which itunes says is 19:22 minutes. It plays normally, and ends after about 4 mins as it should, but is there a way to manually edit track length times?
I've tried fiddling with the Get Info tab - "options" where you have the start and stop times, but this doesn't make any difference at all to the track lengths as listed in the main library. Any ideas?

Most likely you converted these songs to MP3 VBR (Variable Bit Rate) using a program that does not properly set the VBR tags.

Issue with Mapping Spaces for Receiver Flat File Fixed Length

Hi Mapping experts,
my scenario is receiver FILE (fixed length)
so if a validation applied on a target field returns false then I need to pass the spaces having the number of characters defined for that field
example
targetField length = 8
using "IF" function to perform validation,   if validation is true THEN = FIELD
if validation is false ELSE = "________"    (underscore to represent 8 spaces)
the problem is the validation is of multiple occurences in one queue and if the "true" statement is on the 6th row, I get _________ which is the value of the 1st row (which is correct because rows 1 to 5 are all false therefore having the value of ELSE which is _______ mapped to it)
How can I get the value of the TRUE row regardless of what row it is located?
e.g. IF = input is 5 rows of validation,     TRUE is in the 3rd row,   i will get the 3rd row value
       IF = input is 5 rows of validation,     NO TRUE Value,   return 8 spaces
right now when i Display Queue values are
iF:in0          iF:in1          iF:in2          iF:out
1111          false          [_________]     [_________]
2222          false                    [_________]
3333          true                    3333
4444          false                    [_________]
5555          false                    [_________]
In above Queue i only get the value of the 1st row which is ________   --> because my target field occurrences definition in Data Type is 0....1
if I change Data Type occurrences to 1...unbounded I get 5 target fields generated --> WRONG because target file is fixed field, so only one occurence of that target field is required

Can you give me the idea of what validation are you using so that anyone can help you with the UDF straightaway
because you need to have a UDf in place which will iterate the number of times the field occurs and then it will check the entire queue first ,where validation is true and only at the instant it will return the value
if the entire queue is value it will return the 8 underscores

Can Open Hub create a fixed length file, not CSV?

I've been given a requirement to produce a file that is not a CSV file, but a file of a fixed length where all of the fields are always in the same positions.
For example, a material "batch" number can be of variable length. They want it to always appear on the file in positions 10-20, even if in some cases it is 10 digits and in other cases it is 4 digits. There should be spaces to fill in the remaining digits.
Can the Open Hub BADI be used to do this? It seems like it always wants to compress the data (so to speak) and stick a seperator in there and the BADI is not helping.

Simplest: Use LJustify() or RJustify() on your lines of data.
EG:

Reading a fixed length file

Hi All,
I am trying to read a fixed length file with .DAT extension through an FTP Adapter. I am using a read(polling) operation.
In the file there are three records(H,D,T). The length of all the three records is more than 100.When I am trying to build a schema for that file using native format builder, maximum position that i get is 100 and if i manually try to put the position beyond 100 say 120,while building the schema and then run the composite using the generated schema, the file is not polled from the location So if anyone could help me to clarify my doubts regarding reading of fixed length files.
a. Can i read i fixed length file which contains records whose position is more than 100.
b. If yes, then how do i do that?

Java value objects to fixed-length flat file?

I am searching for framework or third party API, which can convert a java bean to fixed length record.
I want to automate this solution, using some mapping files. (Like hibernate API for java <----> xml conversions)

integration happens.. it is possible, You can count on it.
java beans get
more data elements.. so i want solution which is
flexible easy to change or experiment ..during
development and after being deployed. I would create two classes for representing the copybook layout. One for the whole thing and another for each element. Each field will have the length type and any special formatting rules. i.e. you will have mutiple types of field classes implementing the Field interface. Then put these in a LinkedHashMap and as you are adding them set another field which will be the offset from the beiginning of the record. The Record class will hold these Fields and other Records.
Then create a schema text file format and load that in on startup. Then you buld the data like a you would a DOM model in your application.
I wish someone had done that in our code instead of copying, pasting and editing this:

int offset = 500;a bazillion times. That's real fun when you want to add fields. The damn methods aren't even in consecutive order.

Download data to Fixed Length Text File

Can anyone share the sample code on how to download data into fixed length text file and place the file in the server directory?

One way i would advice is to declare a text variable and move values using offset.
Eg:
move: <struc>-fld1 to l_text(8),
<struc>-fld2 to l_text+8(3),
<struc>-fld3 to l_text+11(15).
transfer l_text to <file>.
Try this approch and see the result.
